I have been trying to make a custom card set for a friend who is in the hospital, maybe even dying, he wanted me to make him the toxic dragon collection, but I can't seem to figure out how to change the color of the synchro. I even sent a message to kazuki takahashi himself and got no response... obviously.

Dark Synchro is not avaliable in the card maker as they were released to the OCG/TCG as Synchros.

Paradox perhaps explain how to use your template.
