Rex wandered around the relatively new, artificial island. "To think..very soon I will be facing a very strong trainer. I can hardly wait!" Rex said to himself as he approached the main building in which the Tournament will be held. He walked up to the Nurse Joy inside with a smile. "Hey, Joy, how's Rhydon doing?" he asked with a sudden grimace. "He's doing alright", she said with a half-smile. "But he'll need another hour of rest. You need to be careful when training ground-type Pokemon near the water..and you were training him in the water! You need to be more cautious, Rex". Rex sighed a bit, then stretched. "I know Joy..thanks again for taking care of him!" He walked away slowly, and took a seat at one of the table's in the large room. "I need someone to battle while I wait for the Tournament", he thought to himself as he looked at his pokeballs. He smiled as they shined in the light. "Don't worry guys. I'm sure we'll have some fun pretty soon."

Matthew was bored. Oh so very bored. He had been flying on his Sigilyph for over three hours and he was bored during the whole flight. He had been bored while waiting in line to register. When he finally came to the front desk he expected to be over with registration in a jiffy, so that he could get on with battling and therefore his life. Unfortunately, Matthew learned quickly the disadvantages of not having worn a shirt for about a year. "I don't want to put one on!" he had complained to the receptionist, "They itch too much!" The receptionist however, had other ideas, "Sir," she began, "If you don't put a shirt on I will not enter you into the competition." Matthew understood that part, but that still didn't make the task of putting a shirt on any easier. After half an hour, he finally managed to wriggle into a white polo shirt with a pokeball insignia on the front, much to everyone's relief.

"There, I already showed you my Pokemon! I put on this crummy shirt, now can I please get registered?!" despite the young man's attitude, the receptionist put on a smile and said to him, "There you go sir! Please stay on the island until the tournament begins." Matthew sighed in relief, before quickly discarding his shirt and dashing into the main complex. "Sweet Arceus I'm bored..." The tan-skinned teen muttered, opening the door to a room where a Nurse Joy stood behind the counter. Looking around, Matthew's light brown eyes lit up when he spotted a guy sitting at a large table wearing what looked like a torn up black hoodie. Rushing over, Matthew started what he liked to call, a 'conversation'. "Hey, you! Can I battle you? I'm bored out of my skull!"

"Hello, and welcome to the Pokemon Center", was the ever so cheery greeting of Nurse Joy, pokeball tray at the ready. The mysterious figure she greeted merely gave a series of seemingly random hand gestures and whispered: "I seek what cannot be looked for." Joy's eyes widened for a split second, calmed down in understanding and her Blissey came with a folder full of files. "You were expected today, here are your registration and dossiers on all the trainers in the tournament, are we expecting trouble?" The nurse couldnt help but ask, Seeker figured she must be one of the younger joys as the more experienced ones never say a word when he is around. "Thank you kindly Nurse, I will be on my way." was the kind goodbye from the figure, seemingly disappearing out of exsistence.

"Contraband at a tourney like this? Figures. Most likely is stolen Pokemon, followed by drugs and least likely weapons. Hard to say which team is responsible: Plasma has 7 sages in hiding, Rocket and Galactic are leaderless, Magma and Aqua aren't even a major threat. Hmm... need to observe participants, one dossier at a time. Best way to do that is to watch battles, and perhaps participate in a few myself." He thought with a smirk at the last statement. Seeker soon notices dossiers number one and two: Matthew and Rex, are possibly entering a battle. One last thought enters his head: "I'm sure Enforcer and Hunter could use some light excersize, lets see if kids these days still know how to battle."

"I heard the word battle!! Finally!! Standing around here for so long has gotten me anxious for a battle!" shouts an eagerly awaiting young man in his early 20's with a white complexion and black hear with matching eyes. He was wearing a replica "Ketchum generation 1 cap" with a black jacket, red gloves and blue jeans with the wear and tear of a few scuffles, topped off with red running shoes. 4 Ultra Balls were seen on his belt. "How about it, 2-on-2"? was his question, a s*** eating grin on his face.

Rex looked up at the shirtless boy with a bit of confusion. He was going to question Matthew about the battle when a seemingly obnoxious young man yelled something about a two on two match. Rex laughed a little. "Well, I'd love a battle", he said, directing his voice to Matthew. He laughed again, now directing his attention to the young man. "Perhaps we can work this out. I'll gladly challenge you", he said, pointing to the man, "and you", he continued, pointing to Matthew. "At the same time". Rex laughed once again. "That ought to be challenge enough. No use facing only one of them at a time" he thought to himself. Before he heard an answer, he ran over to Nurse Joy. "I'll need Rhydon now, please." She looked at him and nodded her head. "Here you go." "Thank you!" he yelled excitedly as he ran back to the two people. "Come outside when you have an answer!" He yelled as he ran through the doors.

He took a seat on the ground outside, eagerly awaiting the two trainers. "This'll be great! Finally, a battle! I'll just use Rhydon and Aggron. No use in revealing my two best." He laughed to himself. He shut up quick though, as his laughing was creeping people out that walked by.

"Ah such fire in their eyes, dossiers where right on the money about their personalities." was the thought of Seeker, it reminded him of his days as an eager trainer challenging the Sinnoh Leauge. "Heh, That's what you're going with? You're easy pickings!" Seeker boasted with gusto. "Enforcer and Hunter! Let's rock and roll!" A flick of two Ultra Balls and out come out a Dragonite and Floatzel respectively, looking back at their trainer who gave them a nod and a thumbs up along with an unrecognizable set of signs. The two pokemon understood, objective was clear: Put on a show and draw out potential suspects, winning was......optional."Ah to feel young and arrogant again, who says you can't mix business and pleasure?"

"No, Combusken!" Calvin cried ans his pokemon hit the ground. "Oh, man. I lost..." His opponent glared at him, his Infernape raring to go, "C'mon. It's not over. This is six on six, and you're only five down." "Sir, I don't think..." "SHOW ME THAT FINAL POKEMON! Forfeiting is against the rules, and that would mean disqualification." Calvin sighed. He didn't want to do this, but the tournament had rules. Rules that he had to follow. "If... if you insist..." Calvin slowly released his final Pokemon, a Metagross. "Now, Metagross, use Magnitute!" Metagross glared, but the ground didn't shake. The Pokemon had other ideas, however. In a colorful burst, Infernape was out. "I said 'Magnitude', not 'Meteor Mash'! Please, Metagross..." The Pokemon glared again, and quickly finished off the other guy's few remaining Pokemon. "Metagross, why don't you ever listen..." Calvin was angry now. Metagross sensed it and let off a smirk. "Metagross, return!" Instead of obeying, Metagross jumped to the side. "C'mon, get... back... in... here..." Metagross was running away, Calvin close on his tail. He lunged, attemting to grab his pokemon, but it dodged, and blasted a Hyper Beam. "Metagross, no!" Now the Pokemon was going berserk, attacking everything in sight.

Matthew turned his head to the new arrival after Rex left, watching as the man sent out his Dragonite and Floatzel. Noticing the strange hand signs that the man did to his Pokemon, Matthew smirked and reached into his pouch, taking out in each hand one pokeball, he talked to the Pokemon inside them, "Guys, we're going to have a battle!" Matthew imagined his Excadrill cheering, and his Sigilyph sighing. "This is perfect," he told them, "not only do I get to battle these two, but one of them..." Matthew turned down his voice and whispered the last few words, "...Is probably senile!" and with that, he turned to Seeker and shouted, "Hey, old dude! I'll be seeing you outside!" Matthew then dashed out of the building to meet with Rex.

Matthew burst through the doors and tossed his pokeballs into the air, sending Excadrill and Sigilyph out on the ground. For a moment, Excadrill was confused, having spent so long in the desert, he had gotten used to the sandy dunes spanning miles on end. He got over this pretty quickly though, just as Matthew declared his challenge again, "You! I, Matthew Reeves, am ready to take you on!" a long pause, followed by a loud groan, "...Once the old man gets here." Matthew and his Pokemon joined Rex on the ground, Matthew folding his right leg over the left, Excadrill sitting down on his rear; Sigilyph remained suspended in the air as usual. "So, what's your name?" Matthew asked, realizing that he didn't know his opponent's name.

Rex smiled and looked at Matthew. "My name is Rex." He chuckled a little. He grabbed two pokeballs from his belt, and released the Pokemon from within. From them came an Aggron and Rhydon. "These are two of my very best friends!" he said with a big grin. He took a look at his opponent's Pokemon. "Ah..Pokemon from the Unova region..very nice choice. They grow to be pretty strong. I'm sure they're excellent battlers as well." He yawned. He couldn't wait to start the battle. He looked over at Rhydon and Aggron. They were pumped. Ready for battle. Rex felt the same way. Rex and his Pokemon share a bond that few understand. They know each others feelings. He thought, for a moment, he had forgotten something. "Oh yeah! I forgot to ask you your name as well!"

"Come along now you two, we must not dillydally." Seeker realized it in a split second, someone in the tournament, specifically dossier number 25, had his exact attire minus the hat and gloves. He changed into a stereotypical "seasoned" (and most certainly not senile) older gentleman, nice suit, top hat, and cane, looking around the age of 60, before the other two opponent's noticed. The two pokemon in question went along, fully aware their master's disguises, hence the signals. Should a trainer that releases them not use the correct signals, he or she is to be completely and utterly mauled and the pokemon are to head back to Interpol headquarters. "That was almost possibly sorta nearly close, good thing I have been doing this since before everyone in the tourney was alive."

Once he reached the other two young whippersnappers, he proceeded to look abit tired from the walk and took a seat, Enforcer and Hunter flanking him and eyeing the competition. His mind was working at a steady pace, looking at the pokemon and thinking of their most likely movesets. "So that makes three pokemon weak to Waterfall, two to Brick Break, and one to Ice Beam. Only one is weak to Thunderpunch. Best course of action, Hunter leads while Enforcer draws them into position with Extremespeed, and slowly chip away with Dragon Claw. Excadrill has superior speed to the others, Siglyph should be a long range fighter, while Rhydon and Aggron fall under the "Slow but Strong" category." With that he made several more signs and to his pokemon who nodded in understanding and took position.

"The names Winston my young adversaries, I do hope you can give an old man's pokemon some excersize. They don't usually... how do you young-uns say? "Kick Ass" this early in the morning, they usually do it a few minutes after breakfast."

It was happening again. It happened every time, and he couldn't control it. People were in jeopardy. There were always injuries, usually minor, but occasionally major. A few broken bones was the maximum worst. Nothing that couldn't be fixxed, but still. Calvin knew that he had to stop his Metagross, but how? Looking into those tough eyes, all he could think about was his Beldum. The Pokemon that he loved and trusted. His friend.

Calvin shook himself to his senses. Metagross was causing chaos. He had to think... Right there, in the middle of the chase scene, he passed out. It wasn't for long, only a few seconds in fact, but everything slowed down. He thought about the situation. Metagross was wreaking havoc, he knew that. But even then, Metagross was sensible. It would be a risk, but Calvin took it. "Combusken, let's do this!" The exhausted Pokemon popped out of its ball, and Calvin jumped on its shoulders. "Flare Blitz!" Cobusken errupted in a blue flame and started running. If this worked, they would go so fast that Calvin wouldn't be able to feel it. He was wrong. "Aaugh! HOT! HOT! HOT!" At least they were gaining. The chase was on.

Excadrill blushed at the comment, while Sigilyph, though visually unresponsive, was feeling pretty proud of herself. Matthew grinned, "Thanks for the comments, it really boosts morale," Matthew, still grinning, introduced himself, "My name's Matthew Reeves, you can call me Matty, Matt, whatever you like!" Then he turned his attention to the old man as he took a seat, before signaling his Pokémon as they took position. Matthew leaped up onto his feet, Excadrill coming up with him. "So, your name's Winston, eh? All right you senile old coot! Prepare to be blown away by my extreme year long training!”

Matthew was ready and raring to go, so he started barking orders to his Pokémon without waiting to check if Rex was ready. He wanted to pound somebody into the dirt, and the crazy old man was going to be an easy target…He assumed, anyway, “Excadrill, lead with a Drill Run on that guy’s Floatzel! Sigilyph, psybeam on the Dragonite!" Excadrill nodded and charged at Floatzel, spinning at an alarming speed. Concentrating, Sigilyph fired a beam made of multiple colored lights at the dragon-type.

"My my, eager aren't we? Very well, Enforcer evade with Extremespeed, then counter with Thunderpunch and Hunter hit the overgrown mole head on with Waterfall!"
The Dragonite's image faded nearly instantly, mindful of not getting to close too the other 2 pokemon of the third opponent and reappeared at a safe distance, then gathered bright yellow sparks in it's right hand. When enough power was held in the hand, the dragon soared to the sky, intent on giving Sigilyph quite a shock. At the exact same moment Hunter had a very impressive Waterfall moving in front of him as he was charging to the Excadrill. In the meantime, Winston was scoping out any witnesses to the battle, and their were quite a few, none however stood out to him. What stood out to him however was the apperance of a Metagross, too small to be fully grown stomping around a nearby food cart using Meteor Mash on a poor Drowzee. "Hm... recently evolved, aggressive nature and choice of move indicate possible stress or anger, a pokemon like that not obeying its trainer would either have an incompetent trainer or was recently stolen. Must observe, perhaps the battle will draw it near. Wait and see."

On and on, Calvin rocketed on his trusty Combusken, trying to keep on course, following the path of destruction. "Metagross won't get away. If only... maybe something could boost my speed a notch, we'd be fine." Out of nowhere, some Ice beam came an hit Cobusken in the back. Being ice, it quickly turned to water from the heat. And of course, we all know that Fire-types don't like water, and Combusken screeched in terror, it's speed increasing. "This isn't what I meant!" Calvin cried, speeding on the path to Metagross. The pokemon was near now, but there was no slowing down. If anyone wanted to, they couldn't. Combusken was moving too fast. Before anyone knew what was going on, all three collided in a burst of flames. Metagross went flying, but not far. Calvin quickly thanked Combusken, who, with effort, grinned proudly and returned to its Pokeball. Calvin then looked around frantically, looking for Metagross. After a moment he saw his pokemon, stuck in the ground, in the middle of a three-way battllefield.

Rex got up quickly, ready to join in the fun, when he saw a defenseless Metagross stuck in the ground. His eyes widened. Without much hesitation, he took it upon himself to help. He looked over at Rhydon and Aggron. They knew what to do. "Rhydon, jump onto Aggron!" Rex commanded. Rhydon hopped on onto Aggron's arms. "Now, Aggron, use fling!" Upon command, Aggron used it immense strength to throw Rhydon through the air, right toward Metagross. Rhydon landed right next to it, landing on its feet. "Rhydon, use fling!" Rhydon grabbed onto Metagross, or at least, grabbed what he could of it. He then proceeded to pull it out of the ground, and toss it at Aggron. Of course, now Rhydon was completely defenseless if the enemy were to attack, but it didn't matter right now. Aggron jumped into the air to catch Metagross. After he caught it, Aggron stomped over to Calvin, with Metagross still in its arms. Rex ran over to the trainer. "Hey, here's your Metagross", he said with a smile. "Try to be more careful with it." He laughed a little, and then smiled warmly at the boy, awaiting his response.

"Sorry about that," Calvin apologized, "He recently evolved, and since then, he's been going berserk every time he gets out of the Pokeball. It looked like you guys were having a great battle, so I'm really sorry. I'll leave right away." He placed his Pokemon into his Pokeball. They looked at him expectedly, and he started to feel nervous. He always did, especially when there were lots of people doing it. To Calvin, three people felt like millions of faces staring at him. He wasn't sure what to do, so he decided to try to get out of there. "Man, my team's pooped. I'll need to visit the Pokemon Center, unless anybody has any potions around. You guys can get back to your battle now. Thanks for the help!" He pocketed his Pokeballs, and turned to leave, expecting somebody to say something.

Matthew smirked, the old man's Floatzel was going to get quite a shock. "Excadrill, dig underneath Floatzel!" Excadrill, in mid-spin, changed his direction and burrowed his way underground, evading the Floatzel's waterfall. "Now, Sigilyph, use-" the sudden arrival of Calvin's Metagross interrupted him, leaving Sigilyph at the mercy of Dragonite's Thunderpunch. "Muk!" Matthew cursed aloud as Sigilyph was sent crashing into the dirt, electrical sparks emanating off her fur indicated that she had been paralysed. Furious, Matthew snapped his head around to glare at Calvin. "Hey!" He shouted, "Keep your damn Metagross in check! We're in the middle of a match here!!" Meanwhile, Sigilyph groaned in pain as she struggled to get herself airborne, but this subsided as she took to the air.

Kotomi inhaled the fresh air as she stepped off the boat and onto the unnamed island. Her Raichu jumped off the boat and to Kotomi's side. A small breeze drifted to Kotomi, making her skirt fly up. Kotomi screamed and held her skirt down. She looked at her Raichu, who was blushing. Kotomi grabbed her bag from the ground and started off, heading to a small Pokemon Center that must have been run by a local member of the town.

Raichu wasn't interested in going to the Pokemon Center, though. He smiled and cried and dashed over to Rex's and Mattew's battle. Kotomi turned to see that Raichu wasn't by her side. "Raichu!" she cried. She started to run after her Pokemon, but he attacked the Floatzel and the Sigilyph with his Thunder. Kotomi threw a Pokeball at Raichu's head. "Raichu!" the Pokemon yelled. The Pokeball fell to the ground and released Kotomi's Jigglypuff. "Jiggly!" the pink puff-ball cried, then winked.

"Raichu, you can't barge into other battles! It's rude!" Kotomi yelled. Raichu sighed and stared at the ground. Kotomi looked at the boys who where battling. "I'm sorry! I'll pay to heal your Pokemon at the Pokemon Center. I should have kept Raichu in a Pokeball." Kotomi said. "I swear to Arcues, Raichu, if you do that again, I'll put you in your Pokeball." Kotomi muttered.

A new figure appeared on the battlefield, and Calvin sighed. His darn Metagross brought him into this mess, and he wasn't sure how to get out of it. He didn't really want to stay and meet anyone, including this new figure, and he'd definitely ruined a fairly epic battle, and his team was horribly injured from a battle prior. Though he was concerned about his Pokemon, he was glad that they were providing an excuse for his departure. "I'll need to get going now, my team's badly hurt, and I don't have any potions left," Calvin said this in the most sincere way possible. He knew how to make his words flow at times like these, creating the illusion that he'd love to stay if anyone could help. It was a safe move, because who keeps potions these days, anyway?

While the old man had an unreadable expression, somewhere between laughing his ass of and wanting to facepalm, Hunter didn't appreciate the random electric attack., a direct hit like that took a bite out of him. ""Young man and lady respectively, if you two would be so kind as to vacate the current battle area, it would be much appreciated." "Kids these days are really this stupid?" With that he used a few hand signals, which the Floatzel understood to reach into its life preserver pouch, and consume the Sitrus Berry inside. "That's the only one you got Hunter, be more aware of your surroundings, this can happen again considering we are facing two trainers." Hunter nodded in understanding and rose up ready to fight. "In the meantime, Enforcer don't leave the rhydon out of the fun, use dragon claw and if attacked dodge with Extremespeed."

Sigilyph, thankfully, managed to avoid the wicked strike of thunder that came in her direction. Unfortunately, Matthew was furious. Twice has someone interrupted the battle; that was two times to many. "Dammit!" screamed Matthew, pointing an accusing finger at the girl and her Raichu, "You think this is funny?! You think it's funny to attack someone's Pokemon without warning?!" Matthew turned back to Sigilyph. "Sigilyph! Use Psybeam on that Raichu!" Sigilyph nodded and unleashed a multi-coloured beam with all the power it could muster in it's current state.

Meanwhile, in the tunnel that Excadrill had made. Excadrill, unable to wait for his master's command any more, decided to take matters into his own hands. Excadrill figured that Matthew would want him to use Earthquake underground then use Drill Run to come up underneath Floatzel. So he did just that. The earth shook violently, and, certain that the Floatzel was trapped, Excadrill began to dig upwards with Drill Run, Floatzel being the intended target.

Kotomi screamed and tackled Raichu, making both of them dodge the Psybeam. "I said sorry!" Kotomi yelled. She stuck her finger out at the boy and his Pokemon. "Raichu, use Volt Tackle! Jiggypuff, use Sing!" Kotomi yelled. Raichu nodded and cried. "Rai, Rai!" He charged his yellow cheecks full of electricty and then he charged at the Sigilyph and his trainer. Jigglypuff closed her eyes and pulled a micerphone out from nowhere. Kotomi didn't realize what she just did, since Jigglypuff's Sing was strong enough to put everyone around her to sleep. Jigglypuff started singing her peaceful ode and Kotomi's eyes started getting very heavy. "J-J-Jigg-Jiggly... puff..." Kotomi muttered, then fell to the ground in a deep slumber.

Calvin felt his eyes closing. That wonderful music. He slowly fell down into a deep slumber, only pausing a moment to complain that he was the only one who didn't get a piece of the battle.

The crowd cheered. Calvin laughed as he was surrounded by friends and family. His Metagross was there, grinning with pride at its trainer. He held the trophy close. He didn't notice that it was third place. He just knew that he had battled the best he ever had, and his friends knew it. Friends... if only... The stadium became filled with a bad odor. Possibly an army of Muk. Or, it was probably...

"Combusken, cut it out! You should seriously brush your teeth someday," Calvin got up. "At least I'm awake, now." He glanced around, anxious to see if anyone else was awake.

Calvin felt his eyes closing. That wonderful music. He slowly started to drift off... Calvin began collapsing, until and Excadrill shot its way upward, knocking Calvin to the side. It was a powerful Excadrill right there, strong enough to bring him to his senses the moment Jigglypuff stopped its song. He looked around, but everyone else was asleep. Even his Pokemon were affected by the music. It was just Calvin and Excadrill. "I mean, really, everyone else got a part in this battle, but no. I just held everyone back," he sighed. Excadrill rolled its eyes and snorted, obviously agreeing with him. "And you're not helping any. If only I had some Full Restores, my team could help get everyone up. Its a big job." Excadrill nodded and walked over to its trainer's bag, tossing three ancient Full Restores to Calvin. "Seriously? You're just... giving them to me?" Excadrill shrugged, most likely because the potions were several years old. Calvin revived his Combusken, Noctowl, and Buizel. "All right, gang, let's wake these people up!"
OOC: This is some serious Godmodding right here. You can't control other people's characters, like making my Jigglypuff stop singing or making the Excadrill do what you want.
I say to void this entire post like it never happened since Godmodding is against the rules.

Winston and his team was, in the midst of all the chaos, enjoying a nice little snooze. Well Hunter anyway, Enforcer hastily ate his Lum Berry, didn't really need it since he wasn't going to go on an Outrage in this battle. Winston was out cold, but every member of his team was trained for such a thing. While he wasn't exactly the thinking type like Trapper, he knew how to battle just fine, usually a Dragon Dance or two and a swipe of his Dragon Claw does the trick, with the oocasional Thunderpunch. Why wouldn't it work now?

Matthew woke up. He was having a dream where the metaphorical plot was derailed by the arrival of two trainers, who both proceeded to cause a huge uproar, halting the progress of said metaphorical plot. When Matthew opened his eyes, he was shocked to find his Excadrill sleeping on top of Floatzel, Winston, the girl and (maybe) Rex out cold, and the first interfering trainer anxiously looking around. "He's probably checking if anyone else is awake." He thought. Looking into the centre of the battlefield, Matthew was relieved to see Sigilyph awake, even if it was because of the paralysis.

Deciding that he should be the one to fix the damage, Matthew slowly got up onto his feet, took his third Pokeball out of his pouch and tapped the seal on the ball, releasing a soft pink Pokemon onto the grass. "Blissey, I want you to wake up everyone who is sleeping, okay?" the pink Pokemon nodded and merrily skipped up to Excadrill and Floatzel and delivered a quick, hard slap to their faces. Excadrill yelped and hopped off of Floatzel, one metallic paw clutching his cheek. Blissey continued doing this to everyone, both Pokemon and Trainer alike, who were asleep on the field.
