"All mighty wizard my ass." Cody said as he walked up behind Ristavan. "I don't really give a damn about this 'quest' of yours or these damn Necromancers." Kori looked at Cody with a look of shock. He continued to talk. "I want you to tell me EVERYTHING you know about the Dark Massiah old man. Not the half-assed bull you told the rest of them." This time spoke up. "Cody! How can you be so rude to your old master!?" She turned to Ristavan and bowed slightly. "I apologize for his rudeness." Cody took another step closer. "Look old man you are supposedly all knowing so how hard could it possably be to tell me this stuff. And I'm not gonna take that sh*t about 'knowing when I'm ready" you've always done!" Cody took note of all the people he was yelling infront of.

Ristavan's body suddenly seemed more....evil. Something changed about Ristavan's air changed. He looked menacing, and angry. "You son of a b****." He growled, his voice was deeper, and snarly. "You of all people have no right to speak to me that way. I will give you nothing. You want anything....get it out of the rest of them." Suddenly, a small amount of blackish-red mist swirled around Ristavan's feet. "Rudeness cannot be apologized for....rude children must be...punished..." His pupil dialated, and the mist worked its way around Ristavan's body until it reached the top of his head. He pointed a misty hand at Cody. "You......bastard. I give you everything....I gave you everything...and you repay me like this." Ristavan shouted a word of power, and its exact sound was lost on everyone else. The mist projected off his finger, and swirled around Cody. It entered through Cody's mouth, and seemed to make its way through his whole body. As it sucked out, Ristavan looked normal again. "Foolish boy...I will never. Assist you. Again." With those words, Ristavan tossed the Shantiri Crystal to Xelta. "You break this, the Skull is basically in the hands of the Dark Messiah. With enough power, they can break in without the Crystal." With one last, withering, look at Cody, Ristavan snapped his fingers...and was gone.

Derxan told Xelto about Ristavan's old habit of such anger when someone was to talk to them in such a tone of voice. However, despite this, the situation has not gotten any better. Riefel left, and Cody caused such a catastrophic damage upon the relationship he and Ristavan had. Putting the Shantiri Crystal in his bag, he responded to Cody.

"Great job numb nuts. You certainly know how to piss someone off. Now, if you're done making a fool of yourself, we can get a move on, even if Riefel left."

However, he paused, and looked at Girth with a grim face.

"Girth? Doesn't Riefel have the map Ristavan gave us, that leads to the Temple of Ashan?"

Griths mouth was an "O" shape. He had heard from his father that Ristavan took a persons rudeness or insults very, VERY seriously. He didnt hear Xelta at first, then when he realized what he said, he said; "Nah, she had her own. I got the map. You...hold the Crystal. If anything, I think I can trust you. Not like you, or be your friend, but I think I can trust you. Can I?" As he waited for Xelta's response, he turned to Cody. "Young man, you are not very likable either. You may travel with us, and I will tell you about the Dark Messiah and the Necromancers as much as I can. Simply because, well, you saved my life. And that is a debt that must be payed." He turned back to Xelta. "Now you. I am not your friend. Not even neccesarily your comrade. And I sure as hell dont like you. But I need to know if I can trust you, with my life if I must." Grith waited for Xelto's awnser....

"Right now, all that matters is that we get to the Temple of Ashan. And we can't have any delays or mishaps. Hate me as much as you like, even though hate among us is not a recommended option. Cause we're all going to need each others help when we're fighting the Necromancers and putting a stop to the Dark Messiah. That much, I can say. After this is all over with, we'll most likely never see each other again."

Taking his bag, and strapping it to his back for ease of movement, and asked Grith, "We're supposed to get horses, right? Shouldn't we go get them?"

Riefel had flew many miles away from the city when those events took place, Thankfully, She was quite fast because after quite a few minutes of flying, She could see her hometown from over a mountain, She was near her location, in fact, quite close to it. Upon passing the beautiful mountain, She landed, feet-first, on the soft, green grass, It was quite nice to be back in this area, but she did not have time to enjoy the scenery, She flew up a little and looked around for that cave, to which she easily found and entered. She could feel a familiar feeling grip her in the pitch blackness, An Instinct guided her through the darkness, which that darkness can't seem to be lifted by even magic. She could hear the screams others that suffered a horrible fate in the cave, when they just stopped, She looked and saw a door, A familiar door to the only place she felt at home to, The Door glowed white with a 6-pointed Sigil and opened revealing more darkness, but it cleared to her after a few seconds and revealed the Ruins of an ancient library...

Ashe stood idlely by while he watched what occurred. He let out a deep sigh and shook his head. Oh this is gonna be fun, he thought. Sighing one more time, he removed his sword from his back and strapped it to his belt by his other sword. He took off his small pack and took out a large black trench coat. Ashe put on his coat and slung his pack onto his back. "I'll get the horses, so don't worry about them. While on the journey, I'll keep an eye on the kid, Grith" Ashe shoot a look at the boy and gave him a thin smile. That boy shows potential. It just has to be nurtured, unlike me.

Riefel walked inside of the ruins and looked around quite a bit, She was looking for a specific book, until... "There it is..." she said in a low tone as if whispering to herself, Grabbing a book titled "Accito et óstium Plectentes". However, Now that she had Xana with her, Riefel decided to give her something to ask, because something intrigued her about that symbol back at Ristavan's place and the Symbol here, She looked around and found a Symbol to the library and looked at it for a while, She then asked by thinking "Miss Xana, I saw certain similarities to the symbol of this Library and the Sigil that I saw back at Ristavan's place, would you explain to me about this?" after the 'question' she sat down and started skipping the pages until she found the page that she was looking for, She started to chant softly at the incantation that she found "O tenebris Tabularius. Commoda me unum librorum a fabuloso bibliotheca, et me discere magis carminibus..." Then after closing her eyes, She kept the incantation to mind, Repeating it several times both incanting and in mind, which then the incantation just stuck with her, She smiled and nodded...

Grith sighed. "Xelto, I dont hate you. 'Hate' is a strong word. I dislike you, yes. But before I set foot on this little adventure, I do need to know if I can trust you. I trust the rest of the group. Riefel and Cody both saved my ass back there with the Iron people. Dyriun has earned my eternal respect and admiration. Kori I trust with my life as well. Ashe is a fellow swordsman, and human being with actual emotions. But you.....you have done nothing to earn my respect, nor my trust. You stood back and let innocent people die. People that had done nothing to you. But I'm going to forgive you for that. As long as I know I can trust you." Grith turned around to Ashe. "Go find the horses if you will. You seem like the type to like animals more than humans...of course, if you dont want to, I'll go get them."

Cody slammed his fist into the side of the tower. "Damnit old man!" He yelled. He then looked at Grith then at Ashe and Xelto. "Alright. I'm with you. The old man taught me a bit about where we are going. I think I remember the way. But first i need to check something." After he said this he walked into the tower and to a shelf that had books and scrolls all over it. "It should be here. Unless the old man is as paranoid as I thought." *** Kori was shocked be how Cody had acted. She had never seen him like that. Though she had seen someone cursed before and she knew he had been. She looked at Ashe as he said he'd get the horses. "I'll come with you to get horses."

"Trust is something that can appear at one moment, and disappear the next. It's quite a tedious thing to play with, if you know what I mean. But since we both require the same thing, the end of the Necromancers and the end to the Dark Messiah, we're going to have to work together; and since we're going to require each others trust, you have mine. We both require each other to reach to the Temple of Ashan, and I'm quite sure that we're still going to need each other afterwards."

He drew his sword quickly, and pierced the ground.

"Back where I come from, from a group of freelancers, we would pierce the ground as a sign of our trust. And should a fellow ally die, after their burial, we mark their grave by piercing the ground, in the same fashion, as a sign of the trust we shared with them. That is our ultimate trust. And you have that at the very least."

Ashe smiled at Grith's comment about him. I'm not exactly entirely human, after what they did to me. Ashe walked over to the near by stable with Kori following suit.. An old man was tending a horse inside. he scanned the room with his eyes and then walked up to the old man. The old man turned to Ashe and said "What ya here for, young man?" "I need four horses. Particularly ones that can ride for hours on end." The old man scratched his gray beard and pointed to four horses near the back of the stable. "Those are some of the best horses here," the old man said. The old man then proceeded to sadle each horse. While the man was working, Ashe saw Kori petting and talking to one of the horses When the old man was done, he handed the reins to Ashe and put out his hand. Ashe reached into a pouch hanging from his belt and gave the old man some gold coins. Ashe led the horses out of the stable and back to the group. When he got back to the group, Ashe selected a horse. It was a chestnut bay with flame-like marking on one of its hind legs. You'll do just fine. Ashe reached into his pack and took out some pieces of wood and a string. He assembled them into a bow and tied it to the saddle of the bay.

The brown-haired one....Ashe. He returned with four sleek horses, saddled and ready. He frowned at the beasts. Once, a lifetime ago, he had ridden a beautiful stallion as black as the night. But that was his past self. How could one strengthen one's legs if he did not walk on them? When it was his turn to select a horse, he declined.

"My legs are enough for me," he said, patting his well-developed calf.

Ashe raised an eybrow. He lowered the eyebrow, shook his head, then laughed. "One of the horses wasn't for you. I thought you were gonna say you were too heavy to ride one, but you gave me a reasonable answer. No, one of the horses is for the two kids to ride on." Ashe turned around and saw Kori among the horses. He walked up to her and laid a hand on the nearest horse. "Which horse you and the boy want ride one?" he asked her.

Grith picked out his horse quite fast. It was Undin, the very same horse he had seen born years ago. He had ridden this horses sire in his many adventures, and he hoped the son would do just as well. "Your sire, Umaroth, was the best horse in the world. Lets see if you can best the old man now, eh? he whispered to the horse. Undin flicked his ears and whinnied. YOU rode Dad? Cool!
Grith smiled when Dyriun announced he would run. "Xelto, you gonna ride, or run with Dyriun?" he asked Xelto. "If your gonna ride, I suggest you pick Asphia here." Grith patted a female horse that was standing near Undin. "Not the fastest in the world, but she's got stamina."

"Great. I'd rather sleep on a horse that can run for a while than try to sleep walk."

He walked up to the horse, remarking the fineness of the coat and mane, and the colors of it as well. A dark horse with a jet black mane and tail, he favored it quite well. He climbed upon the saddle of which it was donned with. Xelto has ridden horses before, but something felt difference with this one. He couldn't explain it, but it was different.

"Hey, Grith? I've ridden several horses before, why does this one feel different to ride?"

"Eh? Oh, Asphia is kinda special. See, we found...or I found...her abandoned as a foal. Surrounded by dead trees. Freaked me the hell out. But she rides true. Like I said, not fast at all, wont go above a small gallop, but at the right pace, Asphia'll carry you for three days straight. Watered and fed properly of course. But three straight days with no rest she'll carry ya. Anyhow, Undin here is the son of Umaroth, one of the greatest horses to ever be bred in Stonehelm. But still hasnt managed to outpace Asphia. That oughter tell you something." Grith patted Asphia on the head, then mounted Undin. "Ashe, if I were you, I'd choose Fuorth over there." Grith pointed to a pitch-black horse that had started to graze. "Fastest horse we got, and he'll buck you off if he don like you. Thats why I gave Asphia to Xelto. If Fuorth doesnt like Xelto much as I do, he'll be in the air faster than you can spit." Fuorth whipped his head around and neighed. He walked up to Ashe and nuzzled him. "As for you Kori, and that crazy boyfriend of yours, you can ride Vix. He's a nice enough fellow, and friendly as all get out. Although that quality makes him a little too...physical...sometimes." The horse Vix was grayish-white and was already standing near Kori. "He's young and strong. You'll get along quite well."

Riefel opened her eyes, She had spent enough time here for now and needed to depart, she looked around again and found a Glyph, Which she simply stood on and she instantly vanished into thin air...

---

At the beginning of the cave, Riefel reappeared and shook her head rapidly, Saying to herself "I'm Never Getting used to this, I hope this is the last time I need to go in there for the day..." She walked out, She gripped her staff and took to the air after leaving the cave, Flying above the mountains rather easily and flying East with a slight hint of north, She had calculated that they would be out of the city when she got there and in the forest heading toward the Temple of Ashan, She closed her eyes, feeling the air as she flew, It always felt so cool and refreshing...

Ashe shrugged his shoulders. "Eh, what the heck. Sorry little fella." He untied his bow and retied to Fuorth's saddle. Black. Just my color. Fuorth's nuzzled Ashe again. Ashe started to rub Fuorth's muzzle. Fuorth neighed and nuzzled Ashe even more affectionetly. Ashe got an idea and reached into his pack. He pulled out his food pack and took out an apple. Ashe reached out his hand and Fuorth happily ate the apple out of his hand. He snicked and and leaned his forehead against Fourth's. The horse let out a snort, but remained still. "We're gonna be good friends." That we are, the horse said. Ashe laughed and said, "Agreed." Ashe stuck his foot into the stirrup and swung his leg over the horse, trench coat flowing behind him.

Looking at Asphia, Xelto didn't think a foal surrounded by dead trees was a good kind of special, or even something to even be freaked about. Certainly the possibility of it is strange, but the question he posed himself was, why was she found there, and what what happened there? He couldn't ponder it much longer. He had bigger things to worry about.

Overhearing Grith mentioning "If Fuorth doesnt like Xelto much as I do..." he quickly responded with an, "If Fuorth doesn't like me as much as you do?" I'm not sure if I understand what you're saying, exactly. Elaborate. The if of the sentence threw me off."

Grith laughed. "You werent listening! If Fuorth dont like someone, he bucks them off. Funny little fella." Grith tapped his heels against Undin's side and said; "C'mon bud. If we're not fast enough, Riefel's gonna beat us to the Temple! Hiya!" Grith tapped his heels against Undin's flank again, and Undin trotted off through the gates, at a decent speed. Grith called back; "Hey guys! Hurry up! Ashe, you could probably stay with Kori till her idiot boyfriend shows up. I dont like the idea of them getting lost. Cody might make a wrong turn, the gorram idiot."

Riefel had just arrived above the city gates and entered the city just to hear Grith's comment about her beating Grith and gang to the temple, Thankfully, Her Calculations were actually quite wrong as she did not factor that they were waiting for someone, She giggled and flew a little lower to say to Grith "You know it's quite rude to assume that I'm gonna go to the temple by myself and hog all the fun, I wish I knew the fact that having a lot of company was good for you sooner..." She likely scared Grith and the gang appearing like that, but she simply giggled and continued "Actually, I went back home to memorize a certain spell I would need for this journey... Honestly, I did not say that I was gonna go to the temple afterward!" As she said that, She turned into her little girl form, She had been to the Library as an older woman for quite a while, but she shrugged...
