.:Blu:.
After Fayte had volunteered to join the team to help the girl become a Sol guild member, the next person who decided to help her out was Syfa who thought she might as well help the girl since she came a long way just to join their guild. Only one spot left and the girl would have her team to go through with the initiation trial. Shukuro was going to volunteer but decided not to. The reason for him not volunteering was simple, at least for Shukuro. If the initiation trial turns out to be a battle, he would get the chance to volunteer to be the opponent. Shukuro's blood is itching in anticipation for the trial to be a battle. For Starbounds who wanted to join the Sol Guild, each initiation trial was different, and there, surprisingly, has yet to be a battle initiation trial. Crossing his fingers in his mind, the hot-blooded Starbound prayed for a battle. Unexpectedly, Celio wrapped his arms around Fayte and Syfa and told the girl, who he has now labeled the "Sol Guild Singer", that there was no need to worry because the Sol Guild is the strongest guild in existence because its strength comes from family and friends. Hearing that, Fayte nodded. "(Celio seems to always know when and how to motivate people.)" Fayte thought to himself. Celio went on to give one of his speeches. This one brought the spotlight to Fayte's, Syfa's, and his own magical abilities and what they bring to the table. In the end however, he managed to confused everyone when he named their four-man team the "Super Duper Sol Guild Strike Quad Squad" and though he did gave a stunning grin accompanied with a thumbs up. "The Super Du- Whaaat???" Fayte asked, totally confused about what Celio had just named them. "How about we save the naming for when we help her pass her initiation trial." Fayte suggested to Celio. The girl was the most confused person. She was tired from the battle and then had to listen to the Sol guild members talk quickly over her. Celio's team name was the icing on the cake. With a tired look, she then asked what kind of trial would she be participating in. "I will explain things to you once we get to the trial destination. However, you can rest assure that you won't be needing to battle anyone in this trial-" Just as Marlon finished his sentence, Shukuro interrupted. "WHAT?! Damn it, it's not a battle?!" Shukuro asked in the heat of the moment. "C-Calm down Shukuro." Fayte pleaded. Not responding and like a child, Shukuro, with comical anger, stormed off. However he was stopped by Marlon. "Shukuro." the master called out, prompting Shukuro to stop and turn his head back. "What is it Master Marlon?" Shukuro asked, sounding depressed because he wouldn't get the chance to fight anyone. "While the trail won't be a battle, it doesn't mean you won't be able to use your magic. Shukuro, we need you and Kasumi to be the opponents of this team." Marlon explained. Shukuro's expression suddenly lightened up. "R-Really? Hell yeah, my blood is burning! I'm ready to go!" Shukuro exclaimed doing a sort of war dance as he stomped his feet onto the ground one at a time. "Of course you'll need to get your sister out of the library and head to the trail grounds." Marlon stated. "And where would that be?" Shukuro asked. "Starlit Cave on the outskirts of Stellos." Marlon answered to which Shukuro gave a sudden salute. "Right, on it!" Shukuro replied before rushing into the guild house towards the library to explain everything to Kasumi. His speed was comparable to Celio, however, as he ran, Shukuro bumped into a couple of his Sol guild mates, causing them to twirl dizzily in place. "I guess that's the Shukuro equivalent of what Celio does sometimes..." Fayte said as he blinked once with a blank look on his face. "Very well then, I'll accompany you in overseeing this trial as well." Olan told Marlon to which Marlon nodded in agreement. "Then let's us travel to the Starlit Cave." Marlon declared. [Starlit Cave] After an hour or so of traveling out of Stellos, the group arrived at the Starlit Cave. The Starlit Cave was name so due to naturally occurring mana crystals that grow within the cave's walls, causing the cave to be lit up with a bright blue glow. Even with the one-color glow, a person can still distinguish different colors from each other because of natural sunlight emanating into the cave. Inside the huge interior of the cave which was going in one continuous direction leading to the back opening, Marlon took the liberty of using his magic to summon two gargantuan boulders in the shape of cubes. The boulder was at least fourteen feet in both height and width, dwarfing all of the Starbounds that were present. There was enough space in the interior of the cave to allow the two cubes to be distanced far away from each other. "T-This cube is massive!" Fayte exclaimed, extending his arms outward. Putting his arms back down to his sides, Fayte looked at his teammates. "I wonder what Master Marlon his in plan?" Fayte asked. Suddenly, Fayte remembered something. Looking to the girl, Fayte extended his hand outward for a handshake. "All this time I still haven't had the chance to properly introduce myself. I'm Fayte Einzhart." Fayte told the girl awaiting for a proper reply. Meanwhile, on the other side with the other cube was Kasumi and Shukuro who seems unfazed about their cube's massive size. Shukuro was stretching in order to be limber for whatever task he needed to accomplish. As the opposing team, even if they wanted the girl to join, Kasumi and Shukuro would need to do their best in the trial to win. After introductions on the other side was over with, Marlon finally decided it would be time to begin. Walking towards the two teams with Olan following close behind, Marlon stopped in the middle and began to gave the instructions. "Now that everything is in order, we can begin with the initiation trial that will decide whether or not Kirei will be accepted into the guild." Marlon started off, finally learning the girl's name. "This trial is essentially a race to the finish. Each team must find a way to push their massive rock cube to the back opening of the Starlit Cave. You are allow to use any magic in your arsenal as see fit. However, you may not interfere with the other team's progression. Along the way, there will smaller boulders and other obstacles that will be blocking your team's path. Whoever on the team that is not contributing to moving their cube must destroy the obstructing objects in order to advance. You must not shift your cube in another direction. You can only go straight. Whichever team gets their cube to the outside first will be declared the winning team and if that team is Kirei's team, then she will pass the initiation trial. However, if her team does not get their cube out first, then she will not be accepted into the guild." Marlon explained. "I see so it's a race... But how are we suppose to move this massive thing?" Fayte asked, looking back at the cube. "Well," Fayte smiled optimistically, "if there's a will, there's a way." Fayte finished his sentence. On the other side, Shukuro look to his sister. "Okay, leave the pushing to me, you clear the obstacles." Shukuro stated rather calmly. "If there are no more questions, then you can now begin." Marlon stated. Right away, Shukuro transformed his arms into metal and stood in front of the middle of his team's cube, ready to push. "Alright, here I GO!!!" Shukuro shouted before pushing against the cube. Amazingly, Shukuro's strength was great enough that the boulder began moving gradually, gaining speed as Shukuro continued. "Alright you guys, we gotta get started to." Fayte stated. Immortal Chaos
Kasumi sighed slowly and shook her head. “This…..is going to hurt.” She said lowly as she pulled one of her arms from the light cloth of her outfit. She ran her fingers over the exposed flesh, soon drawing out a small arc of metal, groaning in slight pain as the metal pierced her skin. Pulling as gently as she could, but with speed, she pulled out (–giggity-) a large almost pendulum looking blade from her entire arm. Blood trickled down her skin as she exhaled and took out her vile, starting after her brother, time was a factor and she wasn’t going to wait to heal herself. After applying her salve she pushed off the ground, leaping over the large block and landed as gracefully as ever, her pendulum blade clutched firmly in her hands. She took off running ahead, coming to a small boulder. She arced the blade in her hands, slicing into the boulder, splitting it in twain, and reduced it to rubble. She dusted her still exposed shoulder, figuring the smaller rocks could easily be run over by Shukuro. Her eyes remained peeled as she continued further down the path. On a side not, I started to wonder, exactly where does Kasumi store the weapons she draws from her skin? I mean does she have a storage facility that hangs them on the wall? Or does she just leave them on the ground so passers by could use them if the need arose? I’m her creator and hell, even I don’t know the answer, and for that mater…..whoops got a little off tangent here. Where were we....Oh right, Kasumi out in front, waiting to see if any other obstacles would show up....
Elƒie
Kirei marveled at the beauty of the cave. She almost lost herself in the beauty of it if it wasn't for Fayte's introduction, "Oh! Uhm.. I'm Kirei!" She quickly took Fayte's hand and shook it, feeling an oddball look, like someone was waiting for her to say her last name, "Oh! Right.. I have no last name and even I did have one, I wouldn't know it.. It's a long, boring story, maybe I'll explain some other day." With that Kirei, returned her attention to what Master Marlon had in store. . . . "So we gotta move these monstrous things? Seems.. difficult.. Lets see.. My strength spell could help.. Or maybe I should push myself into summoning out my sea serpent.. He's pretty big and should have no problems movin- OHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOH! I know!" With that, Kirei quickly pulled out her baton. The rest she had as they ventured up to the cave and the prospect of being so close to joining the Sol Guild gave Kirei a burst of energy, barely enough for her to do another summon. Pointing her baton towards the boulder, it began to become drenched in a light blue as music and a chill began to fill the air, shortly followed by a vision-reducing snow flurry. Once the snow slowed down, 4 foot tall a snow fairy appeared next to Kirei. Nodding, the friendly fairy knew what to do. Raising up her right hand, a lane of ice appeared below the boulder that lead to the 'finish line' of the race. Then, with her right hand still raised, the fairy began to blast a stream of snow at the boulder, it starting to slid across the ice. But at the pace it was going, it was going to need some more force put upon it. Enter, the Super Duper Sol Guild Force. There, that's a lot easier to remember. Hotaru987
Syfa stood by Fayte and the others as they stood, waiting for Marlon to explain to them what their task was. Syfa was glad that he already said that it wouldn't be a fighting challenge. She looked at Kasumi and Shukuro. They were the last two people she wanted to go up against. Kasumi was an amazing fighter, and Shukuro did have some skills to back up all his obnoxious boasting. 'No matter what we're doing, I'm going to make sure to give my all to help her.' While waiting she over heard the girl introducing herself as Kirei to Fayte. Syfa made sure to remember it since she would be joining their guild soon. Especially with her, Celio and Fayte helping her. She perked up when Marlon began speaking. Hearing that Kirei's test was a race to the finish line Syfa figured that would be easy enough. However, Marlon wasn't finished. They also had to push a giant boulder to the finish line as well as avoiding obsticles. "Huh. That would explain why this huge boulder is sitting there." Syfa mumbled looking at the boulder. Once Marlon told them to begin Shukuro and Kasumi both got to work. Kirei also showed her abilities by summoning a snow fairy. Like before a beautiful melody played, and continued while the summon was present. The snow fairy created a lane of ice below the boulder all the way to the finish like. 'I see. The slippery surface will allow for us to push it that much easier.' Then the fairy began to fire a snowy gust at the boulder. While the boulder started to move from Kirei's fairy attack, it was going to require more than just that. Syfa sighed, "Guy's I wont be much help at moving the boulder sorry." Evem as she said that she summoned both her staff and spellbook. She hopped onto her staff and began floating in the air, "So I'll handle the obstacles and keep your way clear. I'll make sure that nothing gets in the way." With a smile she flew in front of the boulder making sure to stay ahead of it. "Ira Iovis invoco dexteram meam, una mecum disperdes inimicos meos. Salo et perdere." Like before lightening surrounded her spellbook. "Salo et perdere: multi fulgur mallei." Miniature lightening hammers appeared to destroy some of the smaller boulders in the way. If the obstacles stayed like this then this race would be simple enough. Kyng's Old Account
Celio, too, marveled at Starlit cave, the gems sparkling as if it was a starry sky above them, and he couldn't not begin to get lost in his head at watching them. He swore that they even twinkled in a brief second; he wanted to draw the sight before him, but he knew the majesty of the sight could never be replicated thoroughly upon a piece of paper. He felt a numinous sensation through him at the sight, the cave was enormous, enormous enough to hold two huge cubed boulders with fourteen feet in length. Celio adored the sight, a smile of wonder upon his face as he looked around, watching, dreaming if he could fly in the skies with the stars of the shining night sky. This daydream was cut short with Shukuro's loud and proud roar as he began to push his boulder, with his sister; why the heck were they doing that? 'Oh nuts, I really need to pay attention.' Celio thought as he wondered what on earth was going on, before his sight wandered to Kasumi who had began to slice down boulders in front of Shukuro's path. Were they building something that Marlon needed or something? The butterflies in Celio's stomach were ridiculous, making him feel slightly nauseous, and confused, as well as worried; he had a feeling, unless someone threw him a rope, he'd be shown up as an absolute goof. This rope's first half was tossed in his direction with Kirei's little ditty bringing out a Snow Fairy, who'd iced up the floor beneath the boulder to, what Celio assumed, was it's destination; a sigh of relief, it seemed that's where they were moving this thing. Why? Well, Syfa's act didn't answer that thoroughly, she had began to crush obstacles as did Kasumi. Celio did manage to get the jist of things: push the boulder. It seemed the two girls were busy with the set up, they'd need someone to push it. Fayte had yet to make his move, and Celio didn't want to waste too much time, so he tapped his nose with his finger and cleared his throat. "So, it looks like we need someone to help push this thing along, huh?" Celio noted as he observed the influences of the Snow Fairy and Syfa's mallets, realizing it was time for him to contribute; and so, drawing his sword, he noted mentally 'Greygnarl's presence is useless, he'd slow us down at the worst; Dragon Force doesn't grant nearly enough strength, mainly just Greygnarl's power, and it doesn't even allow me to use it. It's evident my Holy Flames will just melt the ice that Fairy has created, and lightning it worthless on stone, I'll have to resolve on using the power of the wind to help me out in this one!' So, the sword behind Celio, the green haired youth sliced the air, a force of wind pounding into the back of the boulder as it moved a nudge, the ice really helping out it's motion. That wasn't the end of Celio's effort, as he brought his sword back and forth, over and over, slicing thoroughly as he blasted the boulder with razor wind after razor wind. His sword, however, was glowing, and this attack was costing mana, so he looked over to Fayte briefly as he said "I'll need to mediate if this doesn't work as well as I hope; I sure hope you'll be able to sub. me in if I need it, unless you've got other ideas!"
.:Blu:.
As Fayte looked over to the other team, he noticed Shukuro was already moving the large cube-shaped boulder at pretty good pace. While Shukuro was doing that, Kasumi was the one taking out the obstructing objects in their way. "(How are we suppose to move this thing? Shukuro's strength is more than all four of us pushing on the boulder at the same time.)" Just as Fayte's train of thought stopped, he felt a chill in the air. "Huh? Why did it became cold in here?" Fayte asked before noticing a voice. To be more specific, Fayte heard Kirei singing. Turning back to his team, Fayte noticed Kirei was using her magic, but in order to do what. Moments later, a four feet tall snow fairy was summoned by Kirei's singing. Seeing the snow fairy, Fayte's eyes widened in awe of the familiar. Fairies are a rarity among familiars. In Mysteria, there is a forest called Fairies Landing which is said to be home to thousands of these magical and beautiful creatures. "Wow, Kirei has more than one familiar? And even more amazing is the fact that she has a fairy as one of her familiars... I wonder what else she has...?" Fayte asked himself quietly. After the fairy was summoned, she instantly knew what Kirei needed of her. First, the fairy created a lane of ice that covered the cave's floor leading all the way to the "finish line". Then, the fairy blasted the boulder with a stream of cold wind and snow that was able to get the humongous block going on the path. Luckily Kirei has a snow fairy familiar, or else actually getting the block to start moving would've wasted quite a large amount of time, time which they don't have if they want to win against Kasumi and Shukuro. Syfa, without any spells that could be used to help move the cube along, decided to designate herself for the role of destroying the obstacles that would be in their path. Syfa, creating lightning hammers began to destroy the smaller boulders that were in her team's way. After having been distracted enough by the beauty of the cave's walls, Celio began to use his magic to help out. Thinking things through out loud, Celio decided to use his wind attacks in order to move the massive block. Using his sword, Celio sent a blast of razor wind at the cube causing the cube to slid further down the icy path and then stopped. But Celio wasn't done yet as he sent wave after wave of razor winds to move the cube even further down. Luckily, the razor winds weren't able to destroy the huge object but rather just made scratches onto its surface. If it would have destroyed the cube, Fayte was afraid that the consequence would be Kirei automatically losing. Celio then told Fayte that he would need to substitute for him in case. Fayte nodded in agreement and began to help move the cub by pushing against it, staying away from the area of impact of Celio's razor wind attacks. Unfortunately for the team, while the razor wind was effective in moving the block, each attack was only able to move it fifteen or so feet. Fayte then stopped his pushing in order to think of a more effective plan. "(This isn't working... We need a more effectively way to move it.)" Fayte thought. Meanwhile, Shukuro continued to move the cube at a constant pace. Shukuro hasn't even begun to tire even though he is relying purely on physical strength enhanced with his magic. But Shukuro knew he needed to pick up the pace because Kirei's team was ahead of him and his sister. "Arrgh, I'm not done yet!" Shukuro exclaimed as he transformed the lower half of his body into metal. "Arrrgh-HAHHHH!!!" Shukuro groaned before exerting more strength into his pushing. The change in speed was frightening as Shukuro was able to push the block while running at a slow speed. Soon, Shukuro was able to even pass the other team. But with no time for boasting, Shukuro stared straight ahead, straight at his goal. Unfortunately for both teams however, getting pass the midway point would prove to be rather difficult. In a flash, Olan suddenly appeared in the middle of the cave path, a couple of meters ahead of Kasumi and Shukuro in terms of how far Olan was away from the leading team. Without speaking, Olan slammed the bottom of his wooden staff into the ground, creating an outgoing and visible green shock wave. However, the shock wave seems to have no effect on the cave floor or its walls as it harmlessly passed the midway point and dissipated. Moments later however, the cave floor began to shook mildly. Shukuro didn't mind the shaking as he continued pushing forward. After the shaking have subsided, two gigantic trees then shot up from beneath the cave floor, one blocking each of the teams path. "The hell?!" Shukuro cursed as he stopped in his tracks after seeing the giant tree sprung from the ground and pushing up until it was against the cave's ceiling. Fayte's train of thought abruptly stopped when he saw the gigantic obstacle blocking his team's path as well. "Did you kids think this trail would be easy?" Olan asked rhetorically. Moments later, leaping off from the top of each tree were three golems, constructed from rocks and wood and brought to life by Olan's magic, famously titled Forest Sage Magic. Each team now have a gigantic tree blocking their path and three golems to deal with. Surely this trial was in no way a walk in the park. Without any command from Olan, the golems blocking Kirei's team began to pick up small boulders and fling them at the cube, forcing it it back. And because of the icy path Kirei's snow fairy had created, there was less friction between the cube and the cave floor, causing the boulder to move back further. "Damn it, we got to take care of these things!" Fayte exclaimed running to the front. On Kasumi's and Shukuro's side, one golem began to charge toward Shukuro's boulder. As the golem made impact, the cube and Shukuro were forced back. "Ugh!" Shukuro groaned as he did his best to keep the cube from being moved back. "I'm kinda busy at the moment so you're on your own Kasu!" Shukuro stated while he continued struggling.
Immortal Chaos
Kasumi rolled to the side as the golem pushed past her. She looked over her shoulder as Shukuro’s boulder was stopped by the golem that pushed past. She shook her head. “Good, keep him busy. The other two are mine!” She exclaimed as she ran faster towards the tree/golems, drawing the pendulum blade back and as she neared the obstacles, she again arced the blade up, aiming a strike that would hopefully sever the golem in half. Striking the golem diagonally across the wooded section, the blade sunk in, cleaving it in twain. Her excitement went unnoticed as she leapt off the rubble caused by her strike at the golem, and landed in front of the second, which towered over her. Her hunter green eyes scanned up it as a small smirk crossed her lips. “You’re bigger.” She said as the golem roared and brought a hand slamming down towards her. She dodged, narrowly, as the giant fist cracked the floor. “Well that should pose a problem.” She said to herself as she started up the golem’s arm, running towards the head. Obviously this golem would be harder to beat, being made mostly of stone. He leapt up off the golem’s shoulder and raised the blade over her head, aiming it towards the golem’s dome, hoping this would work. Bringing the blade down, it sparked as it connected with the stone, but the added weight of her drop and strike allowed it to split the golem’s head into two pieces. This was really impressive cause Kasumi didn’t weigh all that much, so you would have to know that she had some hell of a force behind her strike. Which is kinda obvious if you could actually see the size of the blade she wielded, but for the life of me, the narrator can’t find a descent damn picture. She landed, before the blade, which she had let go of as her strike hit its target. The blade landed, and buried itself into the ground next to her. She dusted herself off as she stood up, looking at Shukuro, who was still having trouble with the golem against the block. She shook her head as she grabbed the hilt of the pendulum blade and spun around quickly, releasing the blade in a horizontal arc, making it spin from her grip. The blade spun rapidly and slashed twice in an X across the wooden part of the golem, causing it to crumble into pieces. Catching the blade she called back to Shukuro. “Move your damn ass! I got those golems off our case!” She turned back to the tree and sighed. “How the hell am I going to get this thing out of our way?” She shook her head as she sized the tree up. Hotaru987
Syfa halted in the air as she stared at the large tree blocking her team's way. Not only that but there were now three golems throwing boulders at the cube, and because of the ice creating less friction against the cube it was moving back. She should have known that this race wasn't going to be easy. She then heard Fayte exclaim they had to stop them, and was running to the front, but Syfa stopped him. "No! You go back and try to keep the cube from sliding back any more than it is now. I told you guys I would keep the way clear and that's what I plan to do." She just hoped they could keep the cube from sliding back too far while she got her next spell ready. "Impleat animam meam flammam ignis et potestatis." Gradually the lightening around her spell book vanished, in preparation of a different element spell. The spell book began smoking as if it was growing in temperature. Even so she continued the incantation, "Precipio tibi obsequor Vulcani voluntatis. Adolebit et Date." The moment she finished her spell book bursted into flames, and Syfa smiled at her accomplishment. Her celebration would have to wait since the golems were still pummeling their cube with boulders. "To bad for you three that I know fire spells. Adolebit et Date: Vulcani Sagittae." All around her flame arrows formed around her, then rained down on the golems. The fire quickly spread, the magic infused with the fire causing the wooden golem to burn down even faster. The only thing that was left to get rid of was the giant tree. 'Now how can I get rid of that tree. It would require too much magic if I was to burn it down. It's way to large for that. I can't let Kirei lose this. But what can I do?' Syfa thought long an hard but nothing was coming to her. Kasumi seemed to be in the same position as her. "Even if we were to some how cut it down we would still have the tree stump in our way." "Maybe-" She looked down to Kirei, "Hey, can your familiar make an ice path around the tree?"
Kyng's Old Account
It seemed that Syfa had the jist of things, using physics with magic to dominate the damned golems from the gigantic tree from whens they'd came, a wonderful execution of her magical abilities; Celio had to ask if she was actually a witch, he never could recall. She had the look, the book, and every single nook...save disgusting boils and green skin. She was like that rarer breed of witch, the one that you'd never be afraid off, because she has the 'cute as a button' game working for her. Celio always wished he could pull off such a trick, but alas, he wasn't fitting of the 'cute' category. 'That snow fairy, for the record, is also quite cute.' Celio thought to himself, briefly distracted by the feminine charm in the room, which soon ended as his sword had ceased using the power of wind to, somewhat, slow the gradual boulder as it had began to backfire on their team; what awoke him was the sword clashing with the stone, the metal running through him with a shock. It seemed the momentum was slowly reducing, but the ice had really played against them; this task was a tricky one, despite Celio's initial beliefs. However, despite this, he had no intention to allow this to go without any bites back from this loud bark of the adversarial side. It was time to kick it up a notch, raise the bar, hit the next level... Turn up the heat, which was exactly what Celio had in mind. He placed his hand upon the boulder and smirked, turning to Fayte as he said "Looks like we've got a stump in the way, huh." with a chuckle, confidence radiating from his silver-lining seeking attitude. "Say, Fayte, Syfa-dear over here has given me and idea, you see." Celio said as he began to rhyme lightly. "Fire beats nature, but it leaves behind a mess, but I have a trick that will easily address, the issue at hand, bringing out Kirei's desire. Fayte, get ready: I'm giving you some Hell Fire!" And as his little ditty had ended, Celio extended his hand and thrusted it towards Fayte, a green stream of energy connecting the two as Celio explained that "Dragon Force allows you to wield some of Greygnarl's power, including his Hell Fire attacks; what's more is that Hell Fire has no by-product: we'll tear down the trunk with ease, but I can't use it on myself. You up for the challenge?"
.:Blu:.
So far, Fayte has been rather unhelpful for his team. None of his magic could be utilize in order to move the cube along. The only thing he could do is help to destroy any obstacles blocking their path but just Syfa alone was enough to handle that simple task. Quietly, Fayte stood in the back trying to figure out a way to help his teammates more. Fayte didn't feel depress however, he was actually quite optimistic that he would figure out a way to help move the cube even faster. However, before long, the trial began to take a more interesting turn. Moments ago, Olan utilized his Forest Sage Magic to summon two gigantic trees, one each to block the two teams progression. If that weren't enough trouble, Olan also summoned six golems to push each teams' cube back even further. Fayte, with his thoughts interrupted, decided now to help his teammates by battling the golems. Once he got to the front however, Syfa stopped him for a good cause. Syfa told Fayte that he needed to stay in the back to prevent the cube from being pushed back any further and that she was the one who'll keep the path clear for them. Without arguing, Fayte simply nodded in agreement. "Right, you deal with them." Fayte said before running back around. On the run back, Fayte thought about how he would prevent the boulder from moving back any further but couldn't come up with a possible solution. "(Arrgh, damn it! What am I suppose to do?!)" Fayte thought to himself finally stopping when he arrived in the back. Even after a few more seconds, Fayte couldn't think of a possible thing he could do to help. With that, he decided to stay there until the golems were taken care of. Syfa already knew what she had to do. Switching incantations, the lightning surrounding Syfa's spell book suddenly disappeared, only to be replace with flames. Using another incantation, Syfa summoned flame arrows that surrounded her. The flame arrows then rained down on the golems and made quick work of them. Common sense that wooden golems would fall to flames. Over on the side, Kasumi just as easily dispatched the golems as well. Albeit Kasumi's method was to come in close range with her pendulum and slicing the golems in halves. The second golem proved to be a bit more of a challenge as it was composed of mostly stone. However, as an expert combatant, Kasumi was able to split the golem's head into two pieces with her masterful swordplay. After taking care of the third golem which was attempting to push the cube back, luckily Shukuro was able to hold his ground, Kasumi then told Shukuro to get moving. Turning around however, Kasumi was now faced with the problem of the giant tree blocking their path to victory. Walking to the front, Shukuro looked up at the monstrous obstacle. "Pass this tree and we'll only need to go a little further to get to the finish..." Shukuro said, oddly calm in his tone. Shukuro then gave his usual battle-hungry grin. "Alright, stand aside Kasu! I'll handle things from here!" Shukuro stated confidently as made his way over to the tree. "Alright, you might wanna stand back for this!" Shukuro warned Kasumi. Now focused on the task at hand, Shukuro extended his arms and hands outward and then slammed his palms together, creating a loud, metallic clap. A few seconds later, a long saw-teeth blade was formed from Shukuro's hands going from the wrist up. "Haha, now this is how you chop down a tree!" Shukuro boasted. Suddenly, the saw teeth of Shukuro's blade began to rapidly rotate down, creating a chainsaw-like effect. Without another word, Shukuro slammed his blade into the trunk of the gigantic tree; cutting through the tree with relative ease. Continuing for a minute or so, the tree finally gave way and crashed down towards the cube. Responding quickly, Shukuro's arms transformed back into its normal, metal appearance which then Shukuro utilized to catch the falling giant. Shukuro's strength was quite amazing to behold as he then threw the tree over the cube and landed back to near the front opening of the cave. "Alright, now for the stump!" Shukuro exclaimed as he transformed the fingers on one of his hand into individual spikes and plunge them deeply into the stump. With some force, Shukuro was able to rip the stump right up from out of the ground, and as before, threw it back towards the front opening of the cave to join the tree. The amazing thing was after all of that, Shukuro still didn't feel fatigue. With the tree taken care of, the back opening could be seen. "Alright, now we just need to bring the cube outside and we win!" With that being said, Shukuro ran to the back once again. Shukuro, not wanting to waste anymore time embedded his spike fingers into the cube and with a huge amount of strength, lifted the cube up a feet or so off the ground. Shukuro was finally breaking a sweat. Somehow, the cube was much heavier than the humongous tree he had to threw. "Arrgh, o-okay, let's hurry up b-before my back gives in...!" Shukuro struggled to muttered as he began to ran towards the finish line. It the other team don't hurry, then the trial will be lost. Back on the other team now, Celio had just came up with a brilliant idea on how to destroy the tree thanks to being inspired by Syfa's handiwork. However, for this plan to work, he needed Fayte's help. Calling Fayte over, Celio explained that he would give Fayte "Hell Fire". "H-Hell Fire? What do you mean?" Fayte asked confused and a bit unnerved at the same time. Celio then extended his hand and thrust it towards Fayte. After a stream of green energy had connected the two Starbounds, Celio began to explain his plan. He would give Fayte Dragon Force, an ability that grants the receiver Greygnarl's power, in order to allow Fayte to use Hell Fire to destroy the tree. Unfortunately, Celio could not use the power himself which now the responsibility has fallen to Fayte. "M-Me...? Okay, I'll do my best. Not sure how though..." Fayte stated. With that, Fayte suddenly felt a strange power coursing through him. "(This must be Greygnarl's power...)" Fayte thought. With the power implanted into him, Fayte now also knew how to utilize Hell Fire. Fayte now used his magic in order to bring up twelve cards to surround him. What's different this time however, was that the cards were glowing in a more deeper and more intense green color, showing the melding of Fayte's magic with Greygnarl's power. Fayte was quite surprised by his card's appearance but knew his team didn't have the time to stand around and let him admire the cards. "Stand back everyone." Fayte told them as he shifted focus to the tree. "Draconic Card Art: Hell Fire Tornado!" Fayte shouted out before a barrage of tarot cards burning with hell fire spun in a destructive twister towards the tree. The rotating cards and the twister effect caused the appearance of a hell fire burning tornado, a combination of Fayte's technique and Greygnarl's hell fire. As the tornado made impact with the tree, it utterly consumed the tree in its hell fire reducing the massive obstacle into ashes and then reducing the ashes into nothing. "A-Amazing..." Fayte stared at the attack in complete awe of its mighty power. In a flash, the hell fire dissipated, leaving not a single trace of the tree in sight and the tarot cards returned to Fayte's deck, surrounding him with twelve new cards. "T-That was unbelievable..." Fayte said, still in shock. However, Fayte soon regain his composure as he noticed Shukuro and Kasumi was nearing the back opening already. Seeing that sight, Fayte almost fell to his knees in disappointment. "N-No way... They're almost at the finish... W-We've failed..." Fayte stated. It was too late. There was no possible way to push the cube to the finish line in time, not even when using all their force combined with Kirei's fairy. Angered and disappointed, Fayte tightened his hands into a fist. "I-i'm sorry Kirei... I really am... If only I could've been more useful..." Fayte apologized. "(If only I had a way to move the cube faster... I shouldn't have volunteered...)" Fayte thought, losing his optimism. "(N-No... I can't just blame myself... If there's still a will, then there's still a way!)" Fayte suddenly looked up, a confident and serious expression was on his face. "We can't move the cube faster but we sure can move our legs faster. Fast enough to outrun Kasumi and Shukuro to get to the finish line." Fayte told his teammates. "I-I think this might work. If it does, I'll need someone fast enough to get to the outside or at least can get close enough to throw one of my cards outside." Fayte explained. "Right, this is our only shot." Fayte took a stand in front of the cube and then drew a card from the circle of cards surrounding him. "(I've never tried this with anything this large, but please let it work...!)" Fayte thought before holding the front of the card towards the cube. "Card Ark!" Fayte shouted out. Suddenly, Fayte's card began to glow intensely and just mere milliseconds later, the cube began to glow the same color as well. "Arrgh, c'mon!" Fayte exclaimed as he grabbed a hold of his wrist of the hand holding the card with his free hand. Strong winds started to blow in Fayte's direction, causing Fayte's hair and clothes to blow back. Within another few seconds, the gigantic cube was sucked into Fayte's tarot card; the force of it causing Fayte to fly back onto his butt. "Oof!" Fayte grunted as he fell. "I-I did it..." Fayte stated in a weak voice. "Quickly... Someone get this card outside... Let's win this for our newest Sol guild mate!" Fayte exclaimed the last part, referring to his desire of winning this for Kirei to become a guild member.
Elƒie
Kirei began to sweat rapidly as the tree, the golems, and the golems knocking the cube back started to really effect their progress, especially compared to the other team! "Ohnoohnoohnoohnoohnoohnoohnoohno!" Kirei started to blurt out, suddenly ending her song short. The fairy, turning to Kirei to with apologetic smile for 1) Not being as much help as she could be and 2) she was going bye-bye. Facepalming herself, Kirei let out a groan as she realized her mistake, especially since her energy got drained again. Fortunately, since only half of the song went through, only half of the normal amount was drained. Looking to the path, seeing some of the ice melted away from the intense fire and with how far the other team was, there was no way, they would make it now. That was until Fayte came up with an ingenious idea at the last minute. Of course it was the within the last minute. It's never in beginning. Anyways, Kirei watched in amazement as Fayte had the cube sucked up into one of his cards. "Fayte! You're a genius! Alright, time to finish this!" With that, Kirei swapped her baton to her left hand as it began to glow orange, as an upbeat, with a tint of hopefulness to it, song began to fill her ears. She would have had her song effects her teammates, but she didn't have enough energy for it. Taking a step forward, her feet and hands began to glow the same color of orange as her baton. Quickly taking the card from Fayte with her right hand, she raced down the cave, jumping over obstacles and side-stepping the smaller boulders. With her body crouched down and the speed she was going, she almost looked like a rabbit running off to home. As she neared the end, she held out her right hand, making sure the card would pass the finish line as soon as it could. However, with how close both teams were to the finish, it was going to be a close call. Hopefully things worked out and Kirei made it in time. No matter what happened, after she crossed the finish line, her clumsiness had to come in. Tripping on a rock, Kirei came to a skidded to a stop on her belly, her face in the ground. Laying there for a moment, she didn't move an inch until she quickly peeled her face off, it being partially red from rubbing against the ground and partially being dirty from well.. rubbing against the ground, as her glasses were half-on, half-off. Rolling onto her back, she fixed her glasses as she stared up to the sky, both of her eyes visible. Now that her bangs weren't hiding her blue eye, she was interested in seeing how everyone would react to seeing her multi-colored eyes, but at the same time, she didn't care. Most of the time, she worried that people would labeled her as a freak because of her eyes like they have been her whole life. She had a feeling that with this guild though, win or loss, they'd label her as even more unique because of them, like a real family would. Her being a part of this family wasn't a question of if she would become a part of it. It was more of a question of when. If she had loss this trial, she'd keep trying again and again until she successful. Sitting up, she looked to her team and said with a broad smile, "Thanks. Win or lose, I really do appreciate the help!"
Immortal Chaos
Kasumi had been staring in awe of her brother’s sheer strength. Sure he was a boastful lout, but lifting a tree and then a huge stone block, maybe in her mind, he was earning just a hint more of her respect. I won’t hit him hard next time. She thought to herself before coming back to reality. Now was not the time to daydream, now was the time to finish the challenge. Being of no more use except obstacle removal, she took off in front of Shukuro, which wasn’t hard considering the size of the block he was lugging. Her blade sliced and shredded the boulders that blocked their path, and out of the corner of her eye, she caught the sight of the other team’s cube vanishing into one of Fayte’s cards. A smirk crossed her lips as she saw the magic unfold and nodded. Clever…very clever. She said in her head as she saw Kirei take off like a bat out of hell holding the card. Leaping and jumping over the rocks, yet still going in a strait line, she passed Kasumi, who in turn tried to speed up her own running, but it was really to no avail. Kirei has passed her and before Kasumi could blink, Kirei was already outside the cave with the card. All that needed to be done was Fayte needed to reverse the spell. Not really knowing if the fact that the card holding the cube counted as the cube actually crossing the line, in fact the narrator doesn’t even know, but that is completely irrelevant to the current storyline, and the RP owner will get mad if I keep scewing, Kasumi shook her head and she skid to a stop at the finish, now having to wait for Shukuro to cross with their block. She doubled over, catching her breath as she looked to Kirei and smirked. She stood up slowly and walked over to the girl still sitting in the dirt and offered her hand towards her. Her hunter green eyes looked to Kirei’s multi colored eyes, noting how unique they were. “No matter the outcome, you put on a fine performance today.”
.:Blu:.
Using an enormous amount of mana to transfer the massive block into his tarot card, Fayte couldn't even find the strength to stand up. Simply sitting on the ground, Fayte held up the card to whoever have enough speed to win the race. Seeing what Fayte was able to do, she called him a genius. Hearing that Fayte smiled. "I'm glad in the end I was able to help... Now let's win..." Fayte told her. With that, Kirei's baton began to glow orange as she started to sing and upbeat song, activating her magic. She didn't have enough mana to use this spell on her teammates but she did have enough to use it on herself to win the race with. With Kirei's hands and feet glowing orange, she quickly took the card from Fayte and proceeded to head towards the back opening. Swiftly, Kirei dodged and side-stepped the obstacles blocking the path to victory. At the very end, Kirei's clumsiness accidentally caused her to trip over a rock and skidded to a stop; her face and stomach on the ground. Seeing that, Shukuro believed he still had a chance to win. "(That damn Fayte is impressive, but the race is not over yet!)" Shukuro thought as he sped up a bit. "Ugh... I can't let Shukuro get there first..." Fayte uttered before struggling to get up to his feet. After a moment, Fayte finally got up and looked to Syfa and Celio. "Let's go you guys..." Fayte said before gradually making his way towards the finish. Picking up speed, Fayte went from walking to running. It's amazing that Fayte still has enough energy to get him going like that. Fayte's eyes seemed to have shined for a moment as he began running. His perseverance pushed his feet onward to the finish line. Outside, Kirei rolled over onto her back and fixed her glasses. Without Kirei's bangs hiding the other side of her face, Kirei looked to the sky with her heterochromia eyes with Fayte's card grasped in her hand. She didn't knew how everyone would react to her eyes but she hoped that they would treat her as being more unique because of them, like a real family would see her. Even if Kirei couldn't become a part of this family today, she would try, try, and try again until she is successful. By now, Fayte, Syfa, and Celio had made their way to the outside with Shukuro still just a couple of meters behind. Fayte, exhausted, leaned his arm against the cave's wall to support himself from falling down. Once Kirei had sat up, she looked over to see her team and smiled, telling them that she appreciated their help no matter the outcome. Looking at her unique eyes, Fayte's expression showed pleasant surprise that then formed into a smile. Kasumi then proceeded to tell Kirei that no matter the outcome, she had performed exceptionally. Looking back, Fayte noticed Shukuro was almost to the finish. He had to act quickly. Looking back to the outside, Fayte held out his free hand. As he did that, Marlon and Olan arrived to see who would win. "I know the outcome... We'll win! Card Ark Summoning!" Fayte exclaimed. With that chant, the card in Kirei's hand began glowing a bright green color, less intense than before as Dragon Force has worn off. Exhausted as well, Shukuro placed the cube down and began pushing it once again. Shukuro was now mere feet away from pushing the cube outside. "Arrgh!" Shukuro grunted as he pushed on. Everyone watched in bated breath to see the outcome of the trial. Fortunately, just right before Shukuro could get his cube out, Fayte's magic kicked in and the cube was summoned with a bright flash of green light followed by white smoke that soon dissipated. Kirei's team had won. "W-We did it...!" Fayte stated as he fell to his knees out of fatigue and amazement that he was able to pull it off just in time. Seeing what had just happened, Shukuro stopped pushing the cube and head to the outside. "(Guess in the end, Kirei was destined to join the Sol Guild. It's in the stars after all...)" Shukuro thought, a clam look on his face. "You guys, we did it!" Fayte boisterously cheered as he lifted his fist into the air, a sign of glory. "Yes you did. Congratulations Kirei, welcome to the Sol Guild. Welcome to our family..." Marlon stated. [Nighttime] In the large backyard of Sol's Guild House, the exciting and loud sounds of celebration filled the night's cool air. The stars brightly shining above in the night sky seemed to be dancing to Sol's Starbounds. They were overjoyed with two happy news being delivered to them on one day. Fayte has returned to Stellos and now, a new, and quite unique, member has been added to their large family. It was only right that a celebration would be held for these joyous events. Tables upon tables of food lined the cobblestone floor and drinks varying from juices to alcohols were made abundant for this special night. Lively Sol Guild members join in the festivity as they merrily performed their unique talents. Many were hoping for Celio and their newest guild mate, Kirei, to perform as well being the musical savants as they are. Eating a large chicken leg, Shukuro waited for the guild master to make his official announcement about Kirei even though everyone by now should know about her. Gil, a Starbound who was chatting with Syfa while she cooked in the morning, sat down with a plate of food, cooked by none other than Syfa, next to Shukuro. "Hey Shukuro, I hope you're not mad about losing are you?" Gil asked, teasing Shukuro. "Hah! Like I can get mad over losing a race! Try to battle me and win then we'll take hahaha!" Shukuro boasted confidently. "However, I really am happy that Kirei won. It'll be much more fun around here if we have a singer don't you think?" Shukuro asked, calming down. "Yeah and I gotta say, her eyes are beautiful to stare at. I've never seen anything like them in my life. With help from Fayte, Syfa, and Celio, she pulled off an amazing victory." Gil stated. "Heh, it's already written in the stars." Shukuro replied. "What do you mean?" Gil asked. "No matter what I would've done Kirei would've still end up winning. That was her fate all along. Her fate is to join the Sol Guild and that is what she has accomplished today just like it is fate that Fayte has returned home today." Shukuro poetically explained. "Wow, I've never seen you say anything like that in your life. It's kinda creepy." Gil replied. "HEY SHADDAP!!!" Shukuro snapped to which Gil started to laugh. Calming down, Gil began to talk again. "But you're right. It is fate that Kirei joined our guild. And it's also obvious the same applies to Fayte. After all, his name is pronounced fate." Gil stated. Letting out a breath, Gil smiled. " I wonder what'll be in store for our guild from now on?" Gil asked. "Whatever it is, we now have two more guild mates to stand alongside us." Shukuro replied. Just then, stepping onto the wooden stage that was the centerpiece of the night's decorations was Marlon. Marlon stepped to the front of the stage to officially announced two things. Clearing his throat, Marlon began to speak. "Today has been a very blessed day thank the stars. We've been blessed with the return of our guild mate Fayte and the joining of our newest guild mate, Kirei. With the two of them here, let us push the Sol Guild further and aim to become the best guild in Terrania!" Marlon stated. As Marlon brief speech ended, the celebrations continued, becoming even livelier. Everyone was having a good time and for once, Shukuro wasn't constantly asking people to fight him. All was well tonight for the Sol Guild and Stellos. Even the bright lights that emanated from the guild's estate and the loudness didn't seem to bother anyone in Stellos. Arguably, when viewed from outside the city, the Sol Guild could be seen as the brightest star in the night sky that is Stellos. Another way to look at it, the Sol Guild is the brightest star that shines on Stellos. As the night continued on, Fayte sat on top of the guild house's roof, gazing at the beautiful stars above. So much had happened in one day and he was glad to be apart of it all. A smile came to his face as he held up one of his tarot cards to face the night sky. "The stars sure are wonderful tonight... Wish I could capture just one of tonight's stars to keep it with me forever, but I think my memories of today will be enough." Fayte told himself before letting out a breath. Suddenly, a comet could be seen flying across the sky, causing Fayte to watch in amazement. "Whoa..." Fayte continued watching as it passed by. Without speaking, Fayte smiled and stood up. Placing his hands of his hips, Fayte looked to sky once more. "Yeah... Let's see what the stars have for this guild next..."
Kyng's Old Account
"Aah~ The Moonlight shines brilliantly upon this little lake in my chalice." Celio said as he sat, legs upon the table, in the Guild's lobby, amongst the many with drinks and such going around; he took a lovely little window seat, the moon's luminescence was glowing upon the body of water inside his humble clay cup, sword now resting in his room as was his other possessions except one: his flute. Celio didn't know why, but he loved the night time. It was a two sided coin to him, a two sided coin to which the world itself could be watched so differently, so uniquely, so enchantingly distinct, yet they were perfect opposites to each other. There was the night of excitement and fun, as he saw in the guild, lights rebelling willingly around the surrounding darkness, declaring aloud the pride it symbolized, the glory and triumph. Celio himself was surprised to the wild party in celebration of a single new member joining the fray, and even more so that Marlon would allow such a thing, but it had it's charm. Nowhere else in the world would one find such a lively time, as in daylight man is far too busy to do such, and the late night cool managed to ward off the chance of overheating in the excitement man bathed themselves into. The lights, the air, everything around him showed Celio night time life was abundant. However, turning from this as he gazed out the window, Celio watched the stars and the moon in the sky, not a single ounce of man's nature afflicting the entities which showed night time as a time of peace, serenity, mystery whether good, or bad, and a time of rest. The dark sky cradled above the earth in the heavens like a blanket to cover the land as it drifted into a dormant state so it could wake in the 'morrow and start anew, another day, another time to enjoy the world in the brightness of the the greatest star of them, the Sun, or Sol, perhaps where the Sol guild took it's name from. Celio smiled, as the sun meant to him the beginning: his people worshiped an entity who was said to be the Sun, Styrmling, and according to the legends of old, Greygnarl was his own child: how old must that dragon be! The heavenly nature of it all made Celio yawn gently as he sat up from his seat, escaping the hustle, as he climbed up a flight of stairs and upon one of the many balconies, gazing over Stellos calmly with a smile as he looked up and said "Fayte used your Hell Fire, and it was...incredible; the raw power was cruel to that tree trunk! I felt so excited watching, I could barely concentrate holding up the Dragon Force! I fear to know the extent you can wield it to, Greygnarl." knowing his sword wasn't with him, but, well, trusting the message got to the dragon. Sighing then, he took out his flute and, looking over his shoulder as Celio's shyer nature came out, he placed his lips upon it gently as, for five minutes, he began to play the song his mother lulled him to sleep many times, the song he treasured most, Angelic Lands; the flute did the song beautiful grace, each note hit to a tee with rich melody, the soothing sound gently floating in the air; half way through he blushed slightly, a thought creeping in there was someone just watching him, but he warded it off so he could finish; and so as the final few notes began to set through the air, Celio removed the flute as a gentle breeze blew his hair leftwards, the young man taking the flute and tucking it away, turning away from the balcony and resting his back upon it. Immortal Chaos
Far off in the corner, away from all the hustle and bustle of the festivities that were going on around her, Kasumi sat at a table by herself, sipping some warm Sake from a small cup. Her nose, as always, was buried in a small leather bound book, which was different from the book she had earlier that day. You remember that one, the heavy one that thwacked Shukuro in the face and broke his nose. In all actuality, she had finished that book before Shukuro had gotten her for Kirei’s trial. Her eyes looked up every now and then, occasionally eying her brother, who seemed for no, to be acting somewhat civilized. Her lips curved into a small smile as her eyes soon came to Kirei, their newest member. She had shown such prowess in her trial, and had actually somewhat impressed Kasumi, even on such a small level, it was progress none the less. There were only a handful of guild members able to do that, well, in reality it had only been the guild master, master Olan, Fayte, Celio, and Syfa. She turned her attention back to her book, catching the faint sound of Celio playing his flute, which was no easy feat considering how loud the guild members in fact were in this time of rejoicing. She stifled a yawn as she turned a page in her book, and then recoiled her finger, having gotten a small paper cut from the edge of the paper. She placed the small cut in her mouth, using her wits to slow the small amount of bleeding, and soon took her finger from her mouth, hoping that no one had seen her more or less sucking on her finger. Hotaru987
"Hey Syfa, another one over here!" "We need more meet!" Syfa heard while in the kitchen still cooking for the very large and hungry Sol Guild. She grinned, sweat rolling down her face from the intense heat of the kitchen. Because of the amazing feat of Kirei joining their Guild today Syfa had went all out with her cooking. The way she spiced, diced and prepared her food, it couldn't be called anything but art, and from her smile she was really enjoying herself. She was just as happy as everyone else, and couldn't wait to see more of Kirei's magic and hear her beautiful music. Maybe her and Celio could do a duet sometime. She handed the plates of food out to the others, and finally took a quick break by leaning on the wall. It was always lively in the guild, but thanks to Kirei it was doubled with energy. Even amongst the noise she could make out the sound of Celio's flute, and she smiled as she relaxed. Even Shukuro was acting like a civilized person, instead of looking for fights. Moments later Master Marlon stepped up to welcome Kirei to the Sol Guild, after which the festivities became even livelier. Syfa clapped lightly after he was finished. 'The days are looking up and the stars are brighter than ever. I can see good things in the Sol Guild's future. Especially with the return of Fayte and our new member, Kirei.' She thought her eyes closed. Her moment of rest was over when another shout for more food reached her, and Syfa was rushed back into the kitchen to satisfy the hungry bellies of her guild mates. Even so the smile on her face couldn't be wiped out, if anything it grew bigger, knowing that the days a head were going to be bright like the stars. Elƒie
Kirei smiled as Master Marlon happily announced her officially becoming a part of the guild. After receiving many pats on the back, shoulder congrats shakes, head rubs and hand-shakes, Kirei decided it was time to sing and really get the celebration started. Not after she ate something of course. Looking to the food, she licked her lips quickly as she almost started to drool. Taking a bite of it, a very visible shiver went up her spine as she hummed in delight, "This is DELICIOUS!! Who cooked this?! I must know!" Before she could get her answer, however, she brought her plate of food to her face began to woof it down. Many of the members near her looked to her with a pause before laughing at her gusto for eating. Downing a glass of water after clearing up her plate and about two others, she quickly stood up and yelled out, "Let's get this celebration really rockin'!" Standing on the table, she pulled out her baton as music filled the air as she started to sing, using her music to give her voice a slight volume boost. ". . . We are the champions~" she signaled for the guild to join her each time that line came up. Eventually, she got just about everyone singing along and swaying to it. At the last bit of the song, she had the crowd sing the last 30 seconds of it as she kept the music going. Once the song finished, she threw her fist into the air as she shouted out happily, "YEAH! We are the Sol Guild and we are proud of it!" Putting her baton away and fanning herself, she started to feel the heat the celebration was generating. Working her way outside, she heard people keeping asking her to sing again, either it be a new song or start up that song she sang again. "In a few~ I need some fresh air!" Stepping outside, the cool night air felt refreshing. Sitting down, she pressed her right cheek to the cool step-way that lead from the front door to the gates. "Mmmmmm~ That feels good~" she hummed out as she started to suddenly realized she could hear a flute, "Huh?" Sitting up, she looked around for the source until she realized it was above her to the right. Standing up, she stepped back just enough to spot a figure in the darkness on one of the balconies. Standing their, she listened to the rest of the beautiful melody. She blushed a little as she grew a little jealous of the flute player. She had barely basic skills with some instruments, but this person was a master of the flute. At least it sounded like it with how beautifully played it was. She frowned a moment when the song ended, but she cheered right back up as as she yelled up to the person, "Hey! That song was beautiful! I wish I could play an instrument like that! You'll have to teach me one day." Just as she finished saying that, someone popped their head out the window, "Hey Kirei, get back in here and start up another song. Everyone keeps asking for ya!" "Ok, be back in there in a moment!" Looking back up to the person on the balcony, she said, "I'ma head back in. Cya later! And I hope you're having fun~" With that, she headed back into the building...
.:Blu:.
CHAPTER 2: STRAY STARS AND A GRIMOIRE
Two weeks has passed since Fayte returned home and Kirei joined the Sol Guild. Since then, Kirei has adjusted excellently into Sol Guild life. However, for those past two weeks there has been no exciting jobs posted on the job bulletin board. But that will soon change when a seemingly easy job is picked up by Fayte.
Early morning in Stellos and most members of the Sol Guild have already gone about their daily lives. Most of Sol's Starbounds would spend their day lying lazily around doing nothing. Some of the more studious of the bunch would look for jobs posted on the job bulletin board which can be found on the main floor where usually most of the guild members can be found. Lately, not many interesting jobs were being posted on the board. Nowadays the jobs usually involved walking pets or helping the elderly. Not many would find that exciting. A lot of the more interesting jobs that involving escorting clients through dangerous wild lands are no where to be found. Some of Sol's guild members mentioned that Ursa Major's guild master managed to get the jobs first before Sol's job director, Olan. As job director, Olan is in charge of finding and posting job requests on the bulletin board for the guild, but lately he has been one step behind Ursa Major's guild master. Boy was that guild a nuisance. Even so, Master Marlon preferred not to cause any conflicts with them unless it becomes a matter as serious as a Sol guild member getting attacked by Ursa Major's guild members or other serious reasons. Sitting at a rectangular table with his head and arms resting outward on the table was Fayte, who's expression told everybody the same thing when they look at him: he is bored out of his mind. "Ugh... So bored... What is there to do...?" Fayte asked no one in particular. The only person to respond to Fayte was Shukuro, who seems awfully upbeat today, more than usual. "You're bored? Alright, how about a fight?! It's time I test your skills after so long!" Shukuro grinned as he placed one foot onto the long, rectangular bench chair that Fayte was sitting on. "Nah, I rather not..." Fayte simply answered. "Aww, c'mon! Stop being such a sissy would ya?!" Shukuro exclaimed, putting his foot back down to the ground and crossing his arms in disappointment of Fayte's response. Reluctantly, Fayte sat up and looked to Shukuro with a bored expression. "That's weird..." Fayte told him. "Hmm, whaddya mean?" Shukuro asked. "You know. Usually Kasumi would've hit you with something by now, but nothing's happened yet." Fayte replied. Suddenly, Shukuro put his head down with his arms still crossed and his body began to shook. "Umm, is something the matter Shukuro...? Don't tell me something happened to Kasumi...!" Fayte stood up, worried about what Shukuro was going through right now. "HeheheheHAHAHAHAHA!!!" Shukuro suddenly laughed wildly as he flung his head up with his arms extended in a hand motion one would see accompanying an evil or mad laugh. Startled, Fayte stepped back with a confused look on his face and a sweat drop on his head. "W-W-Why are you laughing like that?" Fayte asked. Calming down just enough for him to speak, Shukuro then wrapped his left arm around Fayte's shoulders. "You see Fayte, my little sister's away on a job which means there's no one here to hit me, and I'm damn happy about it! My blood is itching for the thrill of fighting. So what do ya say Fayte? Let's battle!" Shukuro exclaimed. Only moments later does Shukuro see Fayte walking away from him. "No thanks..." Fayte replied referring to Shukuro's offer to battle. "Then what the hell am I suppose to do for fun???" Shukuro asked. Suddenly, Fayte got an idea and turned back around, a devious grin appearing on his face. One that was able to startle Shukuro. "What's with that grin?" Shukuro asked, a bit unnerved. "You know, I've been practicing my fortune telling. Maybe you could help me out by volunteering for me to see your future?" Fayte asked. Hearing Fayte's proposition, Shukuro was taken back to the time where Fayte's fortune telling ended up with a crystal ball exploding in Shukuro's face. Not saying a single word, Shukuro simply ran off quickly, leaving Fayte standing there. "W-Why did he run away just now...?" Fayte asked. Right after that happened, the guild doors opened to show Olan walking in with some new job request flyers. "Master Olan! Any good jobs this time around???" one person asked. Without answering, Olan simply walked to the job bulletin board and posted the five new job requests. Turning around, Olan gave a sigh. "Unfortunately, the Ursa Major guild master has beaten me to it again." Olan told the previous person before walking off. Hearing Olan saying that, disappointment rang through the air and no one even bothered to go up to the bulletin board to see what the new jobs were. Well, no one but Fayte. Walking up to the bulletin board, Fayte thought he might as well find some job to do as he has nothing else to do. Fayte has already been to the open market section of Stellos three times today already so it was time for a change of scenery. Picking up one job request, Fayte saw that it was a fairly easy garden tending job. "Nah, I really don't have a green thumb..." Fayte said, setting the job back on the board. Picking the next two, the job descriptions were similar in that some pets have gone missing. "I'm not fast enough to catch cats..." Fayte said, not satisfied with that job either. Finally, the next job request seemed a bit more interesting. "Huh, let's see here. Four people needed to watch and protect a museum artifact. Easy job. Pay: 5000 jewells." Fayte paraphrased. "Hey, that's actually not bad. The pay is little but considering the job isn't too hard, I'd say it sounds fair. But four people. I wonder if anybody would be interested?" Fayte asked himself. Elƒie
Kirei let out a yawn as she sat up in bed, her hair sticking about each and every which way. Combing her hair and putting it into its typical style, she quickly got dressed and headed down stairs for breakfast, saying good morning to everyone she came across. Walking to the kitchen, she debated on what to eat. She had to be careful on what she ate; if she didn't eat enough, she'd be starving all day and if she ate just a little bit too much, well.. Anyways, as she made her way to the kitchen, she spotted Shukuro take of off quickly. "Huh.. I wonder what his rus-OOF!" Just barely missing the door to the kitchen, Kirei walked right into the wall as she payed too much attention looking the other way. Rubbing her head, she got a little teary-eyed as she walked in. Wiping her eyes, she grabbed an apple and made her way to the job board. Moments before she got there, Fayte walked up and began mumbling aloud things about the job. 'Oh thank godness!' she thought with a little hum. Kirei couldn't read very much, so it was a nice bonus when someone was there to unknowingly read to her the jobs. "Morning Fayte," she hummed out as she nonchalantly looked at the jobs as he examined them. "Nah, I really don't have a green thumb..." Lemme go get my baton and shoes!" With that, Kirei began to take off as she made a 180 turn. Her crying didn't last long, though, as she quickly noticed that her baton bounced out of off her shirt when she tripped. Snatching it up, she stood up with a smile, "Looks like I had my baton all along~ I still need my shoes, though.. Hotaru987
"Why you no good, food stealing idiot!" Syfa exclaimed as she came zipping around a corner. In front of her Gil ran full speed away from her, sweat flying down his brow and a comically worried expression on his face. He looked over his shoulder, "H-hey come on, I didn't take mu-AHHHHH!" He screamed, seeing the shining white eyes of a demon witch behind him. They rounded another corner, the Sol Guild members pushing themselves up against the wall in order to not be ran over. "I see Gil has made our Syfa mad again." One member laughed as he pealed himself off the wall. "That guy just won't learn will he?" Another laughed as they watched the trail of dust gradually vanish. Again Gil turned another corner and this time he barely missed running into the Sol Guild's newest recruit, shouting a quick apology without stopping. Then he came up on Fayte, and quickly hid behind him, a sweat drop on his face and a pleading look. "Hey man you think you could do me a solid? Syfa's chasing after me again and I really wanna keep my head bump free. So tell her that you didn't see me, kay?" With that he turned to run away only to slam right into Syfa who was standing behind him, breathing heavily and a shadow hanging over her eyes. "I finally....Caught you..." She muttered darkly. Gil chuckled nervously as he crawled back, with his hands up in an 'I surrender' type pose. "Syfa just calm down. I already tried to tell you. The rice balls were already gone when I got there." Suddenly Syfa smiled, but it was obviously forced and the dark aura surrounding her seemed to increase in ferocity. "Oh really..." She reached out to Gil's face. He gulped and tensed waiting for the pain but all Syfa did was pick something off his face. Looking closely Gil realized it was a grain of rice. He paled as Syfa's killing aura manifested into a giant blue Oni mask with a black aura around it. "S-s-syfa wait! I-i can expla-YEOUCH!!" Gil now laid in the background a large steaming, red bump on the back of his head - which even had an X shaped band aid on it - curtsey of Syfa's staff which vanished after doing it's job. "Next time if you want some food just ask instead of taking them. I had made them especially for Fayte as a welcome back gift." Syfa told Gil's battered form. "...Sorry..." He muttered weakly from the ground. She sighed and went to walk away but noticed Fayte standing there. "Oh hey Fayte. When did you get here?" She looked behind him and saw some new missions having been placed on the board. Looking over the missions she sighed, "I see the Ursa Major guild beat us again. Man they are really troublesome." She smiled at Fayte, "Hey are you thinking about doing one? If you are I could help you, I haven't been on a mission since last week." She then thought about it for a bit, "Though, I wasn't doing anything except painting."
Kyng's Old Account
"...mmm...I can still...smell the fires...Hell-Fire Dragon Force Bestowal" "Speaking of that, actually, I cannot even come to terms with what you were thinking. Honestly, Celio, though it made sense, don't you think that Fayte's tornado, itself, could've blown away that trunk? You could've gifted him my strength to lock that box faster, or even gift my speed to that singing girl to speed up the process; you must learn to think carefully about each step you take. If you take one thing from this, take this: look from an epistemic distance and begin to meditate, because you need to begin to come to terms that you aren't ready to wield me as a true ally." "Greygnarl?..your voice...it's not-" All of a sudden, his eyes opened wide, Celio in a realm of blazing fire, Holy Fire, the white flames having the boy float in midair, and in font of him was Greygnarl, the ferocious dragon's gaze upon him as Celio gazed in awe; this was peculiar, he had never seen in a dream before, and though he had seen Greygnarl so much, this was completely different, inspiring, numinous. "Greygna-" "What did I tell you, Celio?" "Wh-what?" "What did I tell you to take from this?" "What do you mean? I-" "Tell me, what were you to take from this dream!" "I-" and with that final stutter, Celio's entirety became engulfed in the fla-
Darting up from his bed, eyes wide, panting, he had realized it was just a dream; not a good one, he remembered it vividly, except that one thing Greygnarl told him to listen too. But the dragon, it spoke more respectful, it made him chuckle as he wiped his forehead; regardless, today was a new day, and...apparently he had slept in again. How did he know this? Well, very simple; as he turned to the left, he saw an angry maid tapping her feet, snaring at him like he was demonspawn. "Celio, you lazy good for nothing! I had to clean up your mess, and you have the audacity to sleep in!" She barked at him, Celio pouting like a scolded puppy before being tossed out of his room, the door slammed shut and locked. Eventually recollecting himself, he spotted, in the distance, Syfa telling Fayte she was up for a mission, so he picked himself up, dusted off his clothes, stood with a smile, and walked over to the bunch as he said "Hey guys! What's happening tod- Ooh! 5000 smackaroonies! Where do I sign!?!" If we are to understand this, we must remember Celio is perhaps the skintest member in the Sol Guild, having to scrounge around for Jewells; he'll do pretty much anything if the price is right, and usually it was; that's why he slept in, he had worked so hard by doing the idle tasks in Stellos for a good sack of Jewells, and, as of yet, he hadn't even reach 100 yet; to somewhat cover this, he said "I-I-I mean, if it's 5000, it's probably an important task we're up for, right? I want to help out the community the best I can!"
.:Blu:.
As Fayte continued to read over the details of the job request, he was completely oblivious to the things that were happening around him. However, Fayte was then approached by Kirei, or more accurately, Kirei approached him earlier but Fayte did not noticed her over himself thinking out loud. Fayte was pulled away from his oblivious state when Kirei suddenly said she'll tag along with him on the job request to which Fayte suddenly looked back. "Huh, Kirei? You'll tag along? Great- Hey look out for that-" Before Fayte could give his warning, Kirei ended up tripping over a chair and hurting her toe, shin, and right hand in the process. "A-Are you alright?" Fayte asked. In his mind however, Fayte knew what was coming up next. Kirei began to whimper which didn't take long from there to turn into crying. Thanks to Kirei's amazing tear ducts, the floor began to fill with tear water. Fayte stood there, looking hastily around for a mop. "Where the heck did I put that mop???" Fayte asked himself. Surprisingly, Kirei's crying didn't last long as she stopped when she noticed her baton. Seeing that, Fayte gave a sigh of relief. "Whew, it isn't as bad as the last three times..." Fayte said. Fayte was amazed by how easily Kirei can switch her state of emotion as she suddenly stood up with a smile. Her eyes didn't even seem red from all that crying. Kirei then told Fayte that she needed to get her shoes for the job and quickly dashed off, leaving Fayte there to continue his reading of the job description. "Okay, now what was that thing about-" Fayte would soon be interrupted again as Gil suddenly ran behind him and hid there. "Gil? What's going on now?" Fayte asked. Not having enough time to explain fully what was happening, Gil settled for requesting Fayte not to tell Syfa that he saw him. "Umm actually-" Once again before Fayte could give a warning, Gil dashed off only to bump into Syfa. Fayte stood there and watched as Syfa delivered punishment onto Gil by hitting him on the head with her staff, leaving a large steaming red bump and an unnerved Fayte. Syfa continued to explain why Gil received what he had just received. At least Syfa did it out of compassion, at least for Fayte. Walking away, Syfa noticed Fayte and greeted him, asking since when did he got here. "Well actually, I've been standing here... For awhile now..." Fayte responded. Syfa then noticed the new jobs that have been posted, but none of them were interesting. Smiling at Fayte, Syfa asked if he was thinking about doing a job and if so then would he allow for her to join him. Fayte smiled back. "Actually, I was looking for two more people to join me on this job request. Kirei was here a moment ago and she decided to join me. And now with you on board, I'll only need one more person." Fayte explained. Just by some amazing, sheer coincidence, Celio had just been kicked out of his room and noticed Fayte and Syfa were gathered around the job bulletin board. Greeting the two, Celio's attention was soon grabbed by the 5000 jewells promise that was on the job request flyer in Fayte's hands. Excited, Celio asked where he could sign up for the job. 5000 jewells, for Celio, was quite the hefty payoff considering how little jewells he had in his possession. Celio continued on to cover up some of his excitement by saying that 5000 jewells as pay must be for an important job request and wanted to help the community. Hearing that, a sweat drop formed on Fayte's head. "Celio... It's only 5000 jewells... I mean myself alone could probably live off of this for only a few days." Fayte told him. But nonetheless, Fayte wouldn't want to pass up an opportunity to acquire the last person needed for the job. "But anyways, it's great that you showed up Celio cause we need one more person for this job. Syfa and Kirei are actually tagging along." Fayte explained. Rolling up the job request flyer, Fayte then walked a couple of feet away from the bulletin board before stopping. "Okay you guys, our destination isn't too far from here. We'll get there in two hours so let's head out now." Fayte stated. [Mensa City] After roughly two hours of travel, the group arrived at Mensa City. A small city, definitely no size comparison to Stellos, but a rather wealthy one as well. The city's architectural design is similar to Stellos due to the fact that Mensa is one of Tenebrae's cities and so share similar construction. A notable landmark of Mensa is the city's central clock tower that was inspired by the much grander Caelum Clock located in Noctum's capital. Though less technologically advanced than it's electricity and magic-powered inspiration, Mensa's clock tower is still arguably more advance than any clock tower that can be found in Wolfkrone. Being a military-oriented kingdom however, Wolfkrone doesn't have much need for big, fancy clock towers. A more recent construction, Mensa Museum of Ancient Starbound Artifacts is located near the city's clock tower. In fact, most of the important city buildings are all huddled together around the clock tower. Mensa's government officials sure are proud of their clock. Fayte had been to Mensa one or two times in the past but whenever he was here, Fayte never got the chance to look around the city due to the occasion always being job first. Once again, Fayte wouldn't have the time to go look around the city. Arriving at the recently built museum, the group entered and was quickly greeted with an abundance of people touring them museum. "Whoa, there sure are a lot of people in here. Kinda like we're on one of Stellos' busier streets." Fayte stated. Suddenly, a security guard armed with a sword on his waist came up to the group. "Excuse me, but the museum is closed to the general public right now." the guard told the group. "Closed? But what about all of these people?" Fayte asked. "They're scholars from Mysteria here to evaluate the museum's artifacts." the guard replied. "Whoa, all of them are scholars from Mysteria???" Fayte asked, surprised by just how many of them were here. "Now please, I must ask the four of you to leave." the guard said. "Actually we're here on a job request." Fayte said as he showed the guard the job request flyer. "Ahh I see. Thank the stars. Please, please, come with me." the guard said in a relieved tone as he guided the group to the faculty part of the museum. "So why are these scholars here evaluating your artifacts?" Fayte asked out of curiosity. "Well you see, Mysteria's scholars are the top knowledgeable minds of all the kingdoms so our museum curator has invited them here to inspect and evaluate our artifacts in order to prove their authenticity. That's basically the gist of it. As a security guard I wouldn't know much about these kind of things so if you have any more question you'll just have to save them for the curator." the guard explained. A little while later, the group arrived at the museum curator's private office. From outside, the sound of worried pacing and muttering can be heard. "(I wonder what's going on in there?)" Fayte thought to himself. The guard then opened the door to reveal a rather short, plump man pacing back and forth in the back of the room. Stopping, the man looked to the door to see the guard and the Sol Starbounds. "What is it? Can't you see I'm in the middle of a problem here? You suppose to be outside watching out for any signs of the thief." the curator stated, annoyed by the guard's presence. "Mr. Albora, these four are here on the job request that you posted in Stellos." the guard explained. Hearing that, Albora's face lit up. "R-Really? Great, great, please come in! Oh, and please shut the door when you leave." Albora told the guard. After Fayte, Syfa, Celio, and Kirei had entered, the guard closed the door behind them and walked off. "Please, please, have a seat!" Albora invited as he pulled up four chairs in front of his desk for his prized guests. Sitting down, Fayte didn't know what to make of the situation, but he knew it's urgent seeing how Albora is acting. "Thank you, thank you soooo much for answering our call for help!" Albora told the four. "So what exactly are the details of this security job?" Fayte asked. "Well, about four days ago, one of our artifacts went missing and the guard squad that was on patrol that night told me that an individual was able to steal the artifact and then get away from them. Just two days ago, the same thief came back here and stole another one of my museum's artifacts and yet again he eluded the guard squad and got away with another valuable artifact. My fear is that he will come back again tonight, especially since a new artifact has arrived just yesterday." Albora explained. "Umm, just what exactly is this new artifact?" Fayte asked. "It's called the Skull Grimoire." Albora said and then paused, letting the words sink in. "The Skull Grimoire? What is that?" Fayte asked. "The Skull Grimoire is an ancient spell book said to have been used by an evil wizard by the name of Rodingrham. Before Rodingrham was hunted down and killed by the Hunters, it is said that he used a special type of spell to keep the book from being destroyed. Now I cannot give you the details of how I've managed to get the grimoire in my museum's possession, I will tell you that it is of the utmost importance that this book must not be stolen by that blasted thief!" Albora stated, slamming his fists onto his desk out of anger. "Calm down Mr. Albora, we'll do our best to make sure that thief doesn't get his hands on the grimoire but I must ask. This job request seems rather difficult but why is the pay so little?" Fayte asked. "That's because the thief only has speed to boast and my guard squad is too slow to catch up to him. Starbounds on the other hand would be able to stop the thief easily, and your chances are even better with four of you right? Besides, this is not about how much jewells you'll be getting, it's about protecting a one of a kind artifact from the hands of a lucky thief! Please, you gotta help this museum!" Albora pleaded. "Alright, alright, I'll help, but just to be clear," Fayte stopped and turned his attention to his teammates, "What do you guys think about this job request?" Fayte asked, wanting to get his teammates opinions first.
Elƒie
As the group entered Mensa City, Kirei looked around with a bit of nostalgia. "I remember this city.. The circus used to stop here at least once a year. Places like these always earned us quiet a bit of money..." Kirei trailed off, feeling slightly ashamed. After the circus was mostly arrested and barely managed to escape under the cover of the chaos, she learned that the ringmaster abused her Starbound powers by making it to where her singing could cause people to spend more, come more, etc. A midst her journey down memory lane, Kirei was snapped back into the present when she started to hear people talk as she walked pasted them. "Hey, isn't that Gemini, the two eyed siren?" "Is the circus coming back?" "It's been a few years.. It'll be nice they're coming." Not wanting to hear more, she fixed her bangs to cover her right [blue] eye as she concentrated on reaching the museum. When they finally entered the museum, Kirei was awestruck by all the people within and all of the artifacts she could see just from the entrance. Not paying attention to what was going on, Kirei's feet moved subconsciously as she looked at artifact after artifact. Glancing at the name plates of each artifact, she hoped to recognize at least one word. Before Kirei knew it, they were in front of a door, being ushered into a room. 'W-What just happened,' she wondered as she took a seat and tried to listen to the man's problem, but was too busy trying to figure out how she got from the front doors to here. Suddenly, out of no where, at least for Kirei, the man slapped his fists on the desk. This startled Kirei and caused her to jump back, the chair tilting onto it's too back legs. Flailing, Kirei got the chair to lean back down onto all four legs. Letting out a sigh of relief, she looked over to Fayte as he asked for the group's opinion. "What not? Oh, right, protecting the artifact.." 'Where'd that come from? I don't remember hearing anything about that..' "..Since we're here, we might as well do the job.." 'I'm not wanting to go back into the city with the rumor of the circus coming anyways..' "..If we work together, we can watch this guy in no time. Hotaru987
After a short walk the group arrived at Mensa city. Compared to Stellos it was very small, though not as small as Syfa's hometown. 'Actually the tomatoes here are very good and ripe. I should make sure to get a few before we leave. Oh and some ginger would be nice too. I guess buying some flour wouldn't hurt either...' Syfa then continued to make a list of more ingredients to buy before they left. After a while she wondered how she was going to carry it all. A sly, mischevious smirk then came to her face as she imagined both Fayte and Celio doing all the work. "Hehehehe...Suckers..." It didn't take long for the group of four to arrive at the recently built museum, which was already filled with many people looking at the different artifacts and paintings. Syfa herself was in awe by the beauty of the museum and the art. They were approached by a guard to tell them that the museum was closed to the public. If that was true then why were all these people here? Fayte must have read her mind, because he asked the same question, to which the guard revealed they were all scholars from Mysteria. The guard then lead them towards the faculty part of the museum and into a room where they saw a man who looked very busy. The guard called him Mr. Albora and introduced them as the four to answer their call for help. Fayte asked him what was going on. Apparently there had been a string of thefts in his museum, two so far, and both of executed by the same person. He was afraid that their newest artifact would also be stolen. When Fayte asked what the artifact was Syfa was surprised to hear that it was the Skull Grimoire. 'W-what on earth! He actually has that book here. I wonder if I'll actually get to see it.' She was jarred from her thoughts when Mr. Albora slammed his hand on the desk. Fayte then asked the rest of them what they thought about the mission. "I'm defiantly on board with this. The Skull Grimoire is legendary where I'm from, so I'll make sure to do everything I can to keep it safe from harm." She exclaimed a determined smirk on her face. Kyng's Old Account
Celio noticed Syfa's sly look, a sweat drop upon his forehead as he thought 'I never really liked that look on anyone's face, let alone a magical mallet wielding witch; I hope it doesn't turn into anything.' before shoving his hands in his pockets as he looked around the city: so, this was Mensa City, huh? Definitely immune to poverty here, he saw beautiful houses and shops with wonderful items upon display in the windows: he was never one for window shopping, but he could smell some aromatic bread, and was soooo tempted to leave the mission just to get high on the intoxicating aroma: alas, he had to persist. If he was lucky, he'd get his mitts on those 5000 Jewells. Even though the pay was, if anything, quite low scale, Celio had a kink in his head he'd be able to bet it into a large sum, despite his luck always falling back on him. Dodgey Dave's Pub had all sorts back in Stellos, Celio wondered if there was some form of shady street or black market here: there had to have been some form of underworldly activity in crime, otherwise why on earth would they have had to travel 2 hours, ON FOOT!!!, to this museum to protect an artifact; maybe that was their business. One way or another, Celio had a feeling this crime could jump out any second, and all of a sudden began to straighten his hands as he looked behind him and around every alley and corner, like a terrible ninja, somewhat trying to maintain his chances of encountering these rogues and criminals he really, actually, hoped to find: imagine it, him nabbing the baddies, snatching a huge sum of Jewells just for himself, what a day that would be. Maybe he'd give some to Stellos' beggar street. Regardless, he managed, somehow, to keep up with the group and into the museum they went! It looked, without question, fairly new, very elegant, and very posh, fitting in so well with the rest of Mensa. Beauty was an insult to this place, it looked mouth-droppingly magnificent; it wasn't long before Fayte was briefed with the details of the mission at hand, and Celio's initial anxieties about Mensa were right: thieves seemed to be around, and who could blame them? This place was a goldmine! But being the compassionate Starbound he was, Fayte but the quest aside for his teammate's opinions first: what a guy! is what Celio thought, he definitely had good qualities. He had to get him to read his fortune sometime, or ask for a lucky charm or something, he'd need it to make his move at Dodgey Dave's when he had the chance. Kirei and Syfa were all in for it, the Sol Guild singer and the witch-esque wonder having made their pleas, but Celio was a little unsure with this Mr Albora: the whole "Not important how I got it" business really irritating him: he'd ask Fayte about that later, for now he placed his hand upon his chest, closed his eyes, and said "People say that evil is simply the lacking of goodness: the blind eye is not the evil, but rather it is the blindness itself that is, itself, the evil. These thieves, I assume, will have a reason for their actions, that is the evil of which they are afflicted upon. Whether we resolve the first domino, or remove the harmful link in the chain, I can assure you Fayte, I'll do my best to ensure this Grimoire's safety." Moments after, he tapped Kirei upon the shoulder twice, and whispered "Hey, tell me something: what do you think about this Museum Curator? Does he seem a bit peculiar to you in anyway?" desperate to hear someone, anyone, agree with him: he hoped Kirei had picked up on it.
