One cannot become a Starbound, one must be born into the cycle. For centuries, Terrania have been shaped by Starbounds. Starbounds have been its protectors, and in more recent times, its bane. Coexisting with Starbounds are average humans, who have their own views and opinions on their extraordinary counterparts. Most normal humans view Starbounds as any other human beings. They view them as allies, family, friends, and lovers. However, there are those who view Starbounds as something that must be dealt with to end their cycle permanently. Thus, conflicts arose and war was waged. Those who oppose the existence of the Starbounds were outnumbered terribly. The war between Starbounds and the opposition lasted only two years and was never given an official name due in part to Starbound leaders' desires to not remember the war for the good of everybody. And so, a new goal was created after the war. The goal of building a peaceful future for generations to come. The war was only part of the early beginnings of Terrania's long history. Since then, Terrania has become a wondrous and mystical place. One, that for the most part, is peaceful. Though some kingdoms of Terrania still have their political disagreements with each other, no serious wars have been waged. Insignificant border and trade disputes have only brought upon an excuse for peaceful negotiations. Beyond conflicts cause by man, Terrania can still be a very dangerous place for those who can't protect themselves. Powerful mystical creatures can be found roaming the wild lands of Terrania as well as in its oceans; even soaring through its skies. Bandits, slavers, and other kinds of harm can befall the unlucky and unprepared. Those with jewells can hire protection to accompany them on their travels through the wild lands of Terrania. Terrania is home to four major kingdoms: Tenebrae, Wolfkrone, Mysteria, and Noctum. The kingdom of Tenebrae, the largest kingdom of Terrania, and its capital city, Stellos, is home to millions of Starbounds and normal humans. It prizes itself on innovation combined with its magical military force that dwarfs two kingdoms. However, Tenebrae is a kingdom that prefers peace and unity among the kingdoms. As with the other kingdoms, Tenebrae is home to many Starbound Guilds that gather Starbounds seeking camaraderie, work, and even a place to call home. One Starbound Guild in particular, known as the Sol Guild, is the largest guild within Stellos and the most powerful. Sol's guild master is Master Gallus Marlon, known to be quite a powerful and well-respected Starbound within the Starbound community. Only known to the most powerful of Starbounds is a legend past on from generation to generation. It is said that the stars that granted Starbounds their power did so in order to prepare them against an unknown and ancient evil that will be awaken in the near future. Along with granting Starbounds their magical powers, the stars also created twelve tarot cards containing the power to summon the twelve celestial beings that will be the key to defeating the awakened evil. Due to an unforeseen event however, the tarot cards dropped from the heavens and scattered themselves onto Terrania, awaiting the day where they will be gathered together to be used against the malevolent forces in the legend or so the legend goes. The ancient scrolls that tell of the legend were vague in details and as with any legend, are difficult to be seen as holding any truth. However, Master Marlon believes the legend will one day become reality and that the twelve tarot cards must be found in order to confront the evil forces. Till this day, not one card has been found... In Starbound lore, it is said that when an exceptionally powerful Starbound is born, a shooting star surrounded by a unique aura can be seen falling towards Terrania. One boy named Fayte was born during a night where one unusual shooting star was seen in the skies of Terrania. Unbeknownst to Fayte, he will become a Starbound of destiny that will decide the future of Terrania, Join Fayte and his comrades of the Sol Guild on a mystical adventure bounded to the stars![/spoiler] [spoiler=Rules]If you are applying for this RP then it is expected that you know the rules of YCM's RP section and there is no need in having to remind you of them. Very much like Earth, Terrania contains a wide variety of regions from lush tropical rain forests home to ancient ruins and statues to medieval castles containing an old world and magical charm to steampunk-esque, technologically advanced cities (not to be confused with either futuristic nor present day technology). The world of Terrania is open to imaginative interpretation. 2) Starbound's main setting is Stellos, the capital city of Tenebrae. It is centered around the Sol Guild and their Guild House. While there is a central protagonist (played by me) in this RP, it does not mean your character will be treated as not being important in the end. All characters are still treated equally. If you doubt me on this you can ask Kujo Kazuya or Hotaru987 of my treatment of characters within my RP. 3) Starbound, the RP, is meant to have a fantasy-esque atmosphere that, at many times, combine real-world traditions together. In terms of character creation, it means be as imaginative as you can. Give your character interesting quirks and what not. Don't be shy about giving your character awesome and creative powers (just don't godmod or be too OP). You can even give your characters weapons, both normal weapons and magically-powered weapons. Guilds do not have uniforms so you can be creative in your character's clothing if you like. Your character does not need to be born within the kingdom of Tenebrae and you have the ability to make up names of towns, cities, villages, etc. that your character comes from. When it comes to naming your character, I usually impose a "Japanese name-only" rule in my RPs but this time around you're free to use any kind of name as long as it's not something extraordinarily normal e.g. Tom, Jane, etc. 4) Note that the main cast, belonging to the same guild, have known each other for a long time already. 5) This RP follows a strict story structure so you cannot post irrelevant posts. [spoiler=6) Important Terms]1. Starbound - The title of the RP and also the main focus of the RP. Starbounds are those granted magical powers by the stars. You must be born a Starbound and unlock your powers during your childhood. One cannot just become a Starbound. 2. Terrania - The "Earth" of the RP. 3. Magic - The power you possess. Every Starbound has a unique magic. This doesn't mean that two Starbounds can't control the same element, it just means there is something about how they use their magic, how their magic looks, etc. that distinguishes an individual Starbound. 4. Mana - The amount of magical power a Starbound has. Mana affects how powerful a Starbound's magic is and how long a Starbound can use their magic. Mana is blue in color. 5. Celestial Mana - Celestial Mana is the name given to the more powerful mana that is hidden within a Starbound. Normal Starbounds cannot just use Celestial Mana at will. It will only become available to them during crucial times when their determination and resolve is at its highest point. Through years of training, Starbounds can train themselves to awaken their Celestial Mana at will. Celestial Mana's color depends on the individual Starbound. 6. Tenebrae - The largest kingdom of Terrania and the main kingdom of the RP. 7. Stellos - Tenebrae's capital city and the RP's main city. Contains the Sol Guild and its Guild House. 8. Starbound Guild - Or just called a guild is an organization made up of Starbounds seeking camaraderie, work, or even just a place to stay. 9. Guild Master - The leader of a Guild. 10. Guild House - The main headquarters of a guild. 11. Sol Guild - The main guild of the RP. It's the largest and most powerful guild in Stellos and one of the most powerful in Tenebrae. It's Guild House is located in Stellos and it's Guild Master is Master Gallus Marlon simply referred to as Master Marlon. 12. Wolfkrone - Whereas Tenebrae's military has numbers, Wolfkrone's military has overwhelming strength. Wolfkrone is the most powerful kingdom, military-wise, though they don't have huge armies. Their armies also consists more of trained knights and warriors rather than trained Starbounds. The Starbounds they do have are more used for enchanting weapons rather than fighting on the battlefield. Wolfkrone's capital city is Orion. 13. Mysteria - The kingdom of beauty and art. Mysteria's economy and resources are the largest of the four major kingdoms. It prizes itself in its art and culture. It is also known for being the most scholarly of the four kingdoms. Its Starbounds are some of the most powerful of the kingdoms as well. Mysteria's capital city Soladad is described as, "the floating blue gem of the west." Soladad is a gorgeous city floating on the ocean and connected by long bridges to the mainland. Most of Mysteria's towns and cities are located near Terrania's oceans. 14. Noctum - The kingdom of Noctum is the most varied in terms of settings out of all four kingdoms. Noctum contains a vast desert, lush tropical forests home to ancient ruins, and its capital city, Caelum, is the most technologically advanced city in all of the kingdoms boasting electrical power combined with magic. Starbounds of Noctum are known for their ability to see the future on varying levels. 15. Jewells - The main currency of the RP. Fayte looks like the image above except without the red cape. Fayte, however, does wear a large red, hooded coat unbuttoned. The coattail of Fayte's coat extends to one foot below his knees. Fayte wears light trousers. The opening ends of the trousers are stuffed into Fayte's black boots. His boots are laced with black thread and has a red trim to them.[/spoiler] [spoiler=Personality:]Fayte can be summed up as freedom loving, optimistic, and honest. His friendly attitude makes Fayte easy to approach, though he is not too overly friendly. Fayte enjoys the company of others but he doesn't mind being on his own for a long period of time. This allows Fayte to pursue one of his favorite hobbies, travelling. Fayte has been known to pursue any job that allows him to travel outside of Tenebrae. When not being able to travel outside of his home kingdom, Fayte can usually be found strolling the open market section of Stellos. Fayte tends to look to the positive side of things when possible, always attempting to find other solutions to a problem rather than taking an obvious solution that seems negative. However, Fayte tries not to fool himself into thinking that everything will go positively. To close friends, which is almost everybody in his guild, Fayte always attempt to be honest with them unless it hurts them in some way. He is also fiercely loyal to his guild and becomes angered when his guild or its members are insulted. Even if he were to become angered by insults, Fayte tends to not retaliate physically. When Fayte was ten, a fortune teller from Noctum arrived at Sol's Guild House and impressed Fayte with her ability to see minutes into the future. Though it didn't sound so great to most, her accurate prediction made Fayte pursue another hobby of fortune telling. Needless to say, Fayte is incredibly horrible at fortune telling even till today, but still Fayte has not given up.[/spoiler] [spoiler=Bio:]Fayte was born in the town of Rigel, a small community-oriented town northwest of Stellos. Fayte was born during a particularly dark night. One that usually, had no stars in the sky that night. However, with Fayte's birth, a shooting star enveloped by a brilliant, golden-yellow aura shot through the dark sky illuminating the village. Inside the house, Fayte's father noticed the bright golden light and looked outside. By then the shooting star had already passed. The entire town still had no idea there was a shooting star due to the fact that it was too dark to be outside. When Fayte was only nine years old, his parents passed away due to sickness. Four days later, a Starbound named Gallus Marlon was passing through town after having completed a job. When the townsfolk explained why Fayte kept standing at the town's hillside cemetery, Marlon decided to take action. Marlon offered Fayte a chance to travel to Stellos by flying there. Fayte was cautious but he was intrigued by the fact that Marlon claimed to be able to fly. Marlon grabbed Fayte's hand and then floated into the air. Fayte was in awe as to what he was witnessing. Both he and Marlon was floating in midair. After Marlon had set Fayte down, Marlon bid Fayte goodbye and began to leave. However, Fayte stopped Marlon and told him that he said he was going to take Fayte to Stellos. After talking for awhile, Fayte decided he wanted to go to Stellos and join Marlon's guild. Marlon told Fayte that without being a Starbound, Fayte could probably only become a bartender for the guild's bar. Fayte didn't care, he didn't want to sulk anymore about his parents. Fayte wanted to go somewhere new. After arriving at Stellos, Fayte was greeted with the capital's grandeur and magical qualities. At the Guild House, Fayte met the members of the Sol Guild. There were even children around his age. Each one of them had a unique magical gift granted to them by the stars. Fayte wished he could be a Starbound after meeting such extraordinary people. A month later, Fayte awakened his Starbound powers when he accidentally threw some tarot cards into a wall using only hand motions. The whole guild was amaze that the whole time they didn't realize Fayte was a Starbound. Even more amazed was Fayte himself. Both of his parents as far as he knew weren't Starbounds. Since then, Fayte learned how to use his powers in order to do some good for the guild as a way of thanking Marlon for bringing him to Stellos. When Fayte was fourteen, he decided to leave the Guild House to travel around Terrania and discover new things. Since then it has been three years and now Fayte has returned to Stellos and to his home.[/spoiler] [b][u]Combat Info[/u][/b] [spoiler=Magic:]Fayte utilizes card magic, a type of magic that allows control of enchanted cards to perform a variety of attacks and abilities. When Fayte's magic is activated, his cards will glow in a [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spring_green_(color)#Magic_mint]magic mint[/url] color. Twelve glowing cards will then float in the air and encircle around Fayte. Fayte can rotate to a specific card at will and then draw the card from the circle in order to activate the card's power. After the power of the card is used, the card shatters and a new card will fly up from his side pouch to replace that card in the circle of cards around Fayte. The card that shattered reappears in Fayte's card pouch and must recharge for a certain amount of time, depending on how powerful the card, before it can be used again. Fayte can also plainly use the cards as projectiles to fire at the enemy with rapid speed, cutting the enemy. Card Art: Fireball - Using one card, Fayte fires a medium-sized fireball at the enemy. It is a rather weak attack that can be stopped easily. However, multiple cards can be used to fire off a barrage of fireballs, making the attack more of a threat. Card Art: Quicksilver - Using one card, Fayte throws the selected card at the enemy at rapid speed. Upon impact, the card creates a silvery explosion. Still a fairly weak attack on its own but can be used in rapid succession. Card Art: Bolt - Using one card, Fayte can fire off a lightning bolt towards his opponent, shocking them and delivering damage for a few seconds. Card Sword - Fayte can combine more than twelve cards into a one-handed sword with a thin blade that can be used like any other sword. Card Wall - Fayte can create a tightly packed together, floating wall of cards in front of him using more than twelve cards. The cards are reinforced with Fayte's mana in order to form a shield to protect against attacks. Card Art: Tornado - Using more than twelve cards, Fayte can trap his opponent within a swirling tornado of cards that can lift an enemy off the ground and cut them with the cards. Card Ark - Fayte can use his card magic to store a single inanimate object in one of his card. The heavier and larger the object, the more mana Fayte has to use. Card Ark Summoning - After storing an object in one of his cards, Fayte can later summon the object back into the real world. This ability takes up significantly less mana than actually storing the object even if the object stored was large and heavy.[/spoiler] Celestial Mana Color: Golden-yellow [spoiler=Weapon(s):]Tarot Cards: Fayte utilizes a deck of enchanted tarot cards in order to utilize his card magic. Without his tarot cards, Fayte's magic would be rendered unusable unless he can find another deck of cards. Fayte keeps his tarot cards in a card pouch that can easily be reached. As with any cards, when not in use, the tarot cards can easily be destroyed just by ripping them making tarot cards, as a weapon, risky to use. Below his baggy white attire is a fairly average build, not ripped or anything, perfect to be groomed in the environment he finds himself exposed to. Needless to say, the long hair is a pain to kill, but he hasn’t got any facial hair, it hadn’t grown really so it’s something less he has to worry about. Being of a little village of Dragon Worshipers, somewhere upon his body is a little tattoo or something he regrets which defines him as one of them.[/spoiler] [spoiler=Personality:]Celio is, often, a very aloof person, often to be found simply looking around and marvelling at small little things, telling a small story of it and making it seem rather majestic, even if it’s just a small piece of tree bark; he doesn’t disregard anything, he believes that everything in existence does, in fact, have some form of purpose. If not found doing this, he’ll either be walking around like a lost dog just smiling and seeing the new places, or in turn gazing into the clouds. This, however, is when he’s not focused on something; in this situation he’ll go from A to B as good as he can. He does like to stay hydrated, and is found in taverns and other watering holes to get a refreshing drink of whatever’s on the shop. He does enjoy to play his flute, his favourite song too, though he does shy from public in relation to this, and thus prefers to play either in solitude or small crowds; Celio doesn’t mind criticism, but whenever about his flute ability it does tend to dishearten him quite a sum. Another notable thing about Celio is he tries to stay optimistic at all times, but whenever dealing with Greygnarl…well, that is one hell that disheartens him a ton, having his spirit dragon call him inferior and unworthy isn’t really anything anyone needs, but despite this when Celio is driven by something, hardly anything will ever manage to stop him from achieving it.[/spoiler] [spoiler=Bio:]Celio was born on the 19[sup]th[/sup] of April in a wee little village somewhere in the vast lands of the kingdom of Tenebrae, his village home to Dragon Worshipers who donned themselves the Drake Clan, which currently he knows really isn’t the most imaginative of names, but…well, the town of Wormwell was a swell little place for young Celio to live in, not a care in the world about anything beyond his studies, which were strictly based to combat due to the traditionalistic patriarchy of the town; his mother had purchased him a flute in aspirations he’d become a bard or something of musical talent, so that he could leave Wormwell and give the town a name, bring more people in, expand the culture. Quite a cunning fox she was indeed. Regardless he played the flute, learning little songs here and there, like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and a few Lullabies, but one song that stuck to him was a song called Angelic Lands. His combat training had begun from a considerably young age as when he was found to express such musical talent from an early stage many asked her mother to introduce him to work like this, for the village guard, so that he could help defend their homeland from the feral monsters of the wilderness, the most feared threat the dangerous Thorn Dragons with their deadly poison breath; Celio’s skill flourished rapidly, acquiring his sword and spirit dragon ten years younger, at age fourteen, than most others because of his skill in combat. However, because of that reason, when the rowdy Dragon Greygnarl made his appearance for the first time and saw his master, he rolled his eyes muttering the words “Oh great, another weakling.” before taking a nap, needless to say confusing the boy. And so, he had begun to travel the world in order to study dragons in further depth, noting that despite his powers becoming one with that of Greygnarl, his dragon was just intolerable of the boy. However, upon the return to Wormwell, Celio arrived in a siege courtesy of the Thorn Dragons, the feral pseudo-dragons ravaging the small village. What struck Celio mostly was that there were Dragons charging for the nursery, where his little sister stayed during the day; it was then when Celio tried and succeeded to summon Greygnarl, who seeing the sight before him unleashed Apocalyptic Lightning to, well, serve some fried Thorns for a feast. Despite this, Greygnarl still ignored Celio’s every single request. A few days, and this was his final trip back to Wormwell, this time Celio determining that Greygnarl would listen to him if, and only if, he managed to do something great, something epic, something that would be fabled. He was deemed unworthy, so he felt being a hero would make Greygnarl finally work with him. So, searching through the Wormwell myths, he found an old tale about the Wyrmwand, a magical wand capable of turning the wielder into a Dragonoid by command, granting him dragon-like powers. Needless to say he felt this would certainly give him credibility for the village. A second was returning the dragons to Wormwell, which all he needed to do was to find a mating pair of Dragons (ideally from a dragonling stage) so that he could bring them back to the town. Of course, another was to eliminate the Thorn Dragons, but considering last time, he felt Greygnarl wouldn’t be that bothered. Despite his dedicated cause, Celio isn’t known to be a dedicated practitioner at all, in fact he far too adores of nature to allow such a thing to happen. Often he’s found simply just watching the skies above him, smiling and gazing into the clouds ahead, or talking to the animals even though he knows they won’t respond. He doesn’t like pressure, at all, and much prefers to be relaxed, to take a deep breath, and to take his time. However, of course, when the situation calls for it, he will go all out as much as much as he can; little does he know Greygnarl expects to see Celio act much more serious before he will accept the boy as his master. As of recently, he has received a little book from his mother, although she labelled it from his sister but he knew the truth; anyways, he had been reading from the book, about the Drake Clan’s history, how the clan itself did not worship Dragons in general, but a specific dragon lineage from the Sun Dragon Styrmling, according to their legends the star dragon who gave life to the world from his light he radiated, as well as fathering the dragons Greygnarl and Catastros. He also learnt that the dragons whom they worshiped, apparently, turn into stars upon their death, granting lights in the skies. Interestingly enough, they believe that falling stars are falling Dragons, similar to the principle of fallen angels, whereby they evolve into dark entities; according to myths the Thorn Dragons are corrupted dragon souls taken the form of a plant, thus their hatred for the creatures. Interestingly enough, this is where Celio’s innate ability to sense Draconic presence comes from. One of his more recent endevours was his journey to Stellos, where he was a tad short of funds, and so fought his anxieties and played his flute in public for some gold to spend; instead he was picked up by a Guild Member of the Sol Guild, who introduced him to many people of the guild as well as offering him a bed. Celio asked if he could stay for a while to learn a little more, and came to eventually figure out they all used powers which, claimed, to have come from the stars, which intrigued him due to the nature of his people, so asking about them he received the answer that he could very well be amongst the Starbound, and thus he became a member to the guild, although he himself does question whether or not he is a Starbound. At the moment he’s wandering around the city of Stellos, shirking from learning to control Greygnarl, however recently he has begun to hear from the dragon, Greygnarl has began to speak to him in his dreams, however more so a different side of the dragon, a side who will tolerate the boy enough to hear a single word that leaves his lips, or more logically leaves his thoughts.[/spoiler] [b][u]Combat Info[/u][/b] [spoiler=Magic:]Celio makes use of draconic magic, an evident occurrence due to his village’s firm beliefs in the dragon heritage they claim that runs through their veins, although the true origins of said magic merely come from practising old methodology. Though he typically channels his projectile blast magic through his sword, usually in the form of a slash or pointing the tip to the target, Celio’s magic can be charged through placing his palms close to each other, [url="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Variations_of_green#Kelly_green"]a Kelly green[/url] colour of magic. Draconic magic varies in accordance to the dragon, in which case Celio’s dragon takes an Eastern Appearance and thus he can make use of divine power, which in his current state is strictly to Holy Fire and Storm Magic; that, and of course summoning his Spirit Dragon…which at the current time is certainly a bad idea. He also makes use of other Village abilities, known as Wyrmagic as they are said to come from draconic origins. There is an evident weakness in Celio’s magic usage: most of his techniques rely upon the use of his sword, and therefore without it he could severely limit his magic capabilities. Despite this, Celio’s all-around magic could make him a bonafide Jack of All Trades. [spoiler=Holy Fire Magic:]Celio can manipulate holy flames, which are especially effective against evil and demons. It may also immobilize his enemies rather than damaging outright. The colour of the flames varies, Celio’s holy fire being pure white. Some flames can have different properties and abilities, Celio’s own flames possessing the power to heal allies and banish demonic entities rather than merely killing them, as well as being capable of using an immobilizing spell.[spoiler=Specific Techniques]Holy Fire Slash: A slash imbued with Holy Fire, strictly for damaging purposes; rather than killing a demonic entity, the attack banishes their soul from their body. Holy Fire Blast: Pointing the tip of his sword, or a charged aura from his palm, Celio can launch a single ball of Holy Fire. Divine Paralysis: A blast fired from the tip of Celio’s sword, either to burn or paralyzes his enemies. Heal: health restoration ability, fairly simple.[/spoiler][/spoiler][spoiler=Storm Magic:]Celio can manipulate storms, including winds, thunder and lightning.[spoiler=Specific Techniques]Lightning Bolt: Celio fires a bolt of lightning from the tip of his sword at his enemies, inflicting standard electrical damage, with high critical hit likelihood. Razor Wind: By slashing the air, Celio can propel a blade of pure air towards his enemy. Blizzard Blade: If cold enough, Celio’s sword can imbue itself with Ice, which can cause a frosty injury if his sword connects. Thunder Roar: By compressing Storm magic in his palms, before collapsing it in his palms, Celio can emit a large sonic roar, sounding like thunder, quite useful for intimidation purposes.[/spoiler][/spoiler][spoiler=Wyrmagic]Celio can make use of the magic that was passed down through his people over the generations, Wyrmagic, which is said to come from Draconic essence and life force itself. It is linked to his Zodiacal sign, Aries, which grants him strength based abilities.[spoiler=Specific Techniques:] Scale Force: Drawing the power from dragon scales, Celio can generate, via channelling through his palms, for limited time, strong skin with is much more enduring due to the buff. He cannot use this upon himself, and it only lasts as long as he creates the magic. Dragon Sense: More of an immediate ability, upon sight Celio can instinctively tell if they possess any form of draconic bloodline within their anatomy. Dragon Blast: A very unique ability, Celio can easily morph any energy blast technique into the form of a dragon (Eastern), which is done mentally, however burning up double the cost for much more power. Dragon Force: Similar to Scale Force, Celio can share some of Greygnarl’s abilities upon an ally, granting them new techniques as long as he uses it, of course to a very lower level of power. Advanced meditation: By beginning to meditate, Celio’s senses enhance to a greater level, as well as his recovery rates slightly improving through this calmer state of mind. Dragon Fist: Burning up all his magic energy, Celio lunges a powerful fist imbued with his magical energy, emanating a dragon’s head at his fist. He can punch dead on, or simply first the dragon as he would do in a normal Dragon Blast. Like any other child, she began her Witch training when she was 5 years old, instructed by her father, who in his own rights was an accomplished wizard. Even at that age she was being put through painful trials, the first being the split of her spiritual body to be put into her first spell book. After that, she was put through all types of pain - which was inflicted upon her through the medium of her spellbook - to be taught to fight through the pain and still battle. If her book was to ever be compromised then she would have to be ready for a pain like no other, and this kind of pain tolerance was the majority of her training. She learned science, math, a multitude of languages - Latin being her first language since that is what language their spells are spoken in. The study of astrology was one of the most important and intense studies Syfa took. Not only were constellation a key part to her life - Aquarius being her guardian constellation - but she was taught that if it wasn't for the stars then she wouldn't have the guidance and powers she has now. She was taught that it was because of the blessing of the stars that she was given her powers. She was also taught to use the stars and their patterns in order to predict future events. Unlike the others of her age, she excelled rather quickly surpassing her peers and some of her seniors in her studies. Because she excelled so much in her studies, she was allowed to start her self journey when she was only 12 instead of the traditional age of 15. Syfa had to wait until the constellation of Aquarius was brightly shown, as that was considered a sacred period for her since she was born under that constellation. During her travels, she saw most of Noctum and met many different people, and races. She never knew how big the world was until she actually traveled it. It was on her journey that she found her love for cooking. Her journey for self discovery, ended up becoming a search for fine cuisines, and since she would always spend her money on food she rarely had places to sleep. A five star hotel for her was anyplace that kept the rain off of her. Though she always looked like a homeless person - which she was - she always ate like a king. The moment when her life changed was when she was 15 and, as per usual, she was sitting against some random building looking worse for ware. Even so her belly was full. She was sleeping when in front of her a fight was about to start between some villagers and a group of travelers. It was a typical case of the huge guy picking on the little guy over the fact that the villager bumped into him. The only reason Syfa woke up was because the guy was talking so loudly, to which she said "Do you mind shutting that mouth of yours, I'm trying to sleep." Of course, being the tough guy he was, he tried to mess with her. So Syfa ended up getting into a fight. Well, it wasn't much of a fight, more like her falling around due to being half asleep. She don't even remember how she won the fight, but the end result was the guy on the ground unconscious and missing his two front teeth. The guy who she ended up saving ended up not being a villager but someone associated with the Sol Guild. After meeting that man, her life had never been the same. Two years later she finds herself a member of the Sol guild, meeting interesting people and going on challenging quest. Now with the guild she never has to worry about sleeping on the ground.[/spoiler] [b][u]Combat Info[/u][/b] [Spoiler=Magic]Syfa enlists the powers of a witch when it comes to using magic. Witches, though powerful, have many weaknesses when it comes to using their ability. The most important weakness to a witch is their spell book. A witch's spell book is pretty much the vessel of their powers, and more or less houses part of the soul of a witch. If the spell book is damaged in anyway, then the owner of the book will also feel the damage, and if the spell book is to ever be destroyed then the witch will go mad, often losing their mind and become a shell of a person. Either that, or simply die outright. Despite all of this, the spell book is Syfa's primary weapon when in battle. The second weakness comes from the fact that before any attack can be done, she must first recite an incantation, and during such time she is most vulnerable. The longer the incantation usually means the more powerful the spell. Using spells without saying the incantation is possible, but requires extreme skill. The third weakness of the spell book, is that after using so many spells the book will begin to glow Syfa's manna color, indicating over heating and that she must give the book a cool down time before it can be used again. How quickly this happens depends on the level of spells she uses. Since witches are connected to their spell books they too will feel a burning sensation. When Syfa is casting, the spell book will hover in front of her, glowing the color of her mana, and the pages will turn on their own accord until the proper page is found. Usually the spells are geared more towards elements, and occasional summons. For every spell, there is a required initial incantation before an elemental spell can be used. Afterwards, a shortened version of the incantation can be used. Syfa's secondary weapon is her staff, which is normally used when forced into close combat. Spells still can be cast when using her staff however, the attack power is considerably weaker. At the most it's best for surprise attacks, or when a quick diversion is needed. However, there are some staff-only related spells. At the head of the staff is a transparent orb, that has swirling blue mana inside of it. Normally the staff is glowing Syfe's mana color, but as Syfe becomes more tired then the glow will become fainter and fainter. When Syfe is knocked out or passes out, then the staff completely looses it's glow. There are some days where her happiness is a little bit easier to tear, but after a while, it just bounces right back. There was her family and two others. It was small and filled with many talented people that traveled the world, doing performances to keep them afloat. Unfortunately for Kirei, she had magical powers and was born with two different eye colors, blue ad brown. In the world, it's not unheard of for someone to be born with two eye colors, but to the villagers, it was a sign that they were the Devil's advocate. Fortunately for Kirei, there was a rule that they couldn't do anything to the children until they turned the age of five. But by then, her family and two others left the village to travel the world when she was 3 years old.[/size][/color][/font] [font=tahoma, helvetica, arial, sans-serif][color=#5A5A5A][size=3]When Kirei turned 5, however, they quickly sold her off to a human traffickers; who then sold her to a circus. There, the ringmaster recognized that Kirei had magical powers and began to condition her to where her singing would have various effects crowds. Her singing could lure people into the circus, make them want to spend money, stay longer, anything. With her being so innocent and young, Kirei wasn't aware of the way she was being manipulated.[/size][/color][/font] [color=#5A5A5A][font=tahoma, helvetica, arial, sans-serif][size=3]Around the age of 11, most of the circus was arrested for various reasons, one of them being child labor. In order for her to perform a spell, she must sing a certain song. When she uses her magic, her baton will glow a certain color, depending on the spell. Then, the one(s) she's intending for the song to effect will hear artificially made music that goes along with her singing. Everyone else will just hear her sing, with no music. If Kirei sings along with an instrument, her spells get a bit of a boost to them or have another effect as well, depending on the spell. Kirei's spells mostly focus on summoning and supportive spells. Her spells could easily be undone if she stops singing or she losses too much focus, making her more of someone to stay a bit away from the fighting. This spell is an empathetic spell, unfortunately, due to how short and fast working it is. As the wounds heal, Kirei will feel the pain and soreness the wound gave upon infliction for the whole song and then about another minute afterwards during the cool-down time. The reason this is so is because the pain is transferred to her. For greater wounds, they tend to only partially heal due to Kirei no longer being able to handle the pain. That is, unless she pushes herself to bare with the pain up until it causes her to pass out. Since a situation like that has never occurred, she'll probably only do that when it's a real emergency. If sang to an instrument, the pain is only felt as she sings. [*][url="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWPy5wLXgrU"]Song of Sleep[/url]: With this spell, Kirei's baton will glow a light grey. This spell can either make an opponent sleepy, causing them to slow down and make their moves more sluggish, or make them fall asleep altogether. For most people, they'll start feeling the affect of the spell when she says "close your eyes" for the first time and by the end of the song, they're as affected as they will be and will start to slowly return to their normal state. The serpent mostly focuses on using medium-ranged, water-based attacks on the enemy. If able, it'll also manipulate the water in a way to help support allies. The kitsune is a close- and short-range fighter, being more physical with its attacks. The enemy will be non-lethally electrocuted upon any contact of the kitsune or when hit from a short-range lightning bolt shot from one of its nine tails. Each tail has enough electricity charged up on it for one bolt. If summoned during a storm, each tail gets charged up enough for two bolts each. They are invulnerable to most damage, and he can use them to absorb energy and heat, and later expel it. Usually used for smelting, he can also use the energy for combat, creating explosions upon impact or creating fire and heat. The gloves can be used to enchant items just through touch. Different enchantments on different objects will have different enchanting times. Enchanting times, along with the amount of mana needed are affected by both the size of the object and the strength of the enchantment. Taking art classes at a young age, Kasumi learned that life, much like painting a portrait, took hard work, and dedication to succeed. Time spent in the library showed her the wisdom of those before her, from rouge scholars, to renowned philosophers. She soon became secluded in her world of learning as much as she could, never really giving heed to what might be going on in the outside world. Sleep rarely came to her in those younger years. She never thought it to be that important. The time sleeping could very easily be spent reading, or pursuing some other form of art. In her mid teen years, her attention was drawn into the art of fighting. It was through this art, as she called it, that allowed her to realize her true potential as a Starbound. She was aware of her defensive prowess with her ability, but never knew that it could also be offensive. Upon waking, she was in her bed, and her wound had been healed. After her eyes adjusted, her teacher could be seen, sitting in a chair next to her bed. He approached Kasumi and leaned in close, eyes locked on hers as he chuckled. “I have never….seen a power like yours……but that temper of yours……will get you killed.” That line stayed with Kasumi as she blossomed into the young woman she is. To this day, she has never been able to recreate the blade that nearly ended her life.[/spoiler] [b][u]Combat Info[/u][/b] [Spoiler=Magic:] While there is no specific name for her powers, Kasumi is able to graft metallic alloys similar to galvanized steel from her skin. This is often a very painful process, as shown by the discomfort on her face when it happens. There are two variations of this magic, one offensive, and one defensive. It does however take a small strain on her body, and she can sometimes need a few seconds to recover. Also, grafting weapons from her skin does leave small cuts on her skin from where the metal exits. [Spoiler=Weapon Grafting:] Kasumi’s first power is straight forward. By thought of a certain weapon, she is able to summon the metal object through the pores on her skin. It takes a few seconds to do this, and is often used before fighting, as it leaves her fatigued and bleeding.[/spoiler] [Spoiler=Armor Grafting:] The easiest side of Kasumi’s powers. This takes little to no effort, and can often be done in less than a second. Kasumi’s power of Meta-kinesis (Best term I can come up with for her ability to summon metal from her skin) can allow herself to cover her vital hit spots in a thin coat, stronger than regular steel. Being of a little village of Dragon Worshipers, somewhere upon his body is a little tattoo or something he regrets which defines him as one of them.[/spoiler] [spoiler=Personality:]Celio is, often, a very aloof person, often to be found simply looking around and marvelling at small little things, telling a small story of it and making it seem rather majestic, even if it’s just a small piece of tree bark; he doesn’t disregard anything, he believes that everything in existence does, in fact, have some form of purpose. If not found doing this, he’ll either be walking around like a lost dog just smiling and seeing the new places, or in turn gazing into the clouds. This, however, is when he’s not focused on something; in this situation he’ll go from A to B as good as he can. He does like to stay hydrated, and is found in taverns and other watering holes to get a refreshing drink of whatever’s on the shop. He does enjoy to play his flute, his favourite song too, though he does shy from public in relation to this, and thus prefers to play either in solitude or small crowds; Celio doesn’t mind criticism, but whenever about his flute ability it does tend to dishearten him quite a sum. Another notable thing about Celio is he tries to stay optimistic at all times, but whenever dealing with Greygnarl…well, that is one hell that disheartens him a ton, having his spirit dragon call him inferior and unworthy isn’t really anything anyone needs, but despite this when Celio is driven by something, hardly anything will ever manage to stop him from achieving it. [/spoiler] [spoiler=Bio:] Celio was born on the 19[sup]th[/sup] of April in a wee little village somewhere in the vast lands of the kingdom of Tenebrae, his village home to Dragon Worshipers who donned themselves the Drake Clan, which currently he knows really isn’t the most imaginative of names, but…well, the town of Wormwell was a swell little place for young Celio to live in, not a care in the world about anything beyond his studies, which were strictly based to combat due to the traditionalistic patriarchy of the town; his mother had purchased him a flute in aspirations he’d become a bard or something of musical talent, so that he could leave Wormwell and give the town a name, bring more people in, expand the culture. Quite a cunning fox she was indeed. Regardless he played the flute, learning little songs here and there, like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and a few Lullabies, but one song that stuck to him was a song called Angelic Lands. His combat training had begun from a considerably young age as when he was found to express such musical talent from an early stage many asked her mother to introduce him to work like this, for the village guard, so that he could help defend their homeland from the feral monsters of the wilderness, the most feared threat the dangerous Thorn Dragons with their deadly poison breath; Celio’s skill flourished rapidly, acquiring his sword and spirit dragon ten years younger, at age fourteen, than most others because of his skill in combat. However, because of that reason, when the rowdy Dragon Greygnarl made his appearance for the first time and saw his master, he rolled his eyes muttering the words “Oh great, another weakling.” before taking a nap, needless to say confusing the boy. And so, he had begun to travel the world in order to study dragons in further depth, noting that despite his powers becoming one with that of Greygnarl, his dragon was just intolerable of the boy. However, upon the return to Wormwell, Celio arrived in a siege courtesy of the Thorn Dragons, the feral pseudo-dragons ravaging the small village. What struck Celio mostly was that there were Dragons charging for the nursery, where his little sister stayed during the day; it was then when Celio tried and succeeded to summon Greygnarl, who seeing the sight before him unleashed Apocalyptic Lightning to, well, serve some fried Thorns for a feast. Despite this, Greygnarl still ignored Celio’s every single request. A few days, and this was his final trip back to Wormwell, this time Celio determining that Greygnarl would listen to him if, and only if, he managed to do something great, something epic, something that would be fabled. He was deemed unworthy, so he felt being a hero would make Greygnarl finally work with him. So, searching through the Wormwell myths, he found an old tale about the Wyrmwand, a magical wand capable of turning the wielder into a Dragonoid by command, granting him dragon-like powers. Needless to say he felt this would certainly give him credibility for the village. A second was returning the dragons to Wormwell, which all he needed to do was to find a mating pair of Dragons (ideally from a dragonling stage) so that he could bring them back to the town. Of course, another was to eliminate the Thorn Dragons, but considering last time, he felt Greygnarl wouldn’t be that bothered. Despite his dedicated cause, Celio isn’t known to be a dedicated practitioner at all, in fact he far too adores of nature to allow such a thing to happen. Often he’s found simply just watching the skies above him, smiling and gazing into the clouds ahead, or talking to the animals even though he knows they won’t respond. He doesn’t like pressure, at all, and much prefers to be relaxed, to take a deep breath, and to take his time. However, of course, when the situation calls for it, he will go all out as much as much as he can; little does he know Greygnarl expects to see Celio act much more serious before he will accept the boy as his master. As of recently, he has received a little book from his mother, although she labelled it from his sister but he knew the truth; anyways, he had been reading from the book, about the Drake Clan’s history, how the clan itself did not worship Dragons in general, but a specific dragon lineage from the Sun Dragon Styrmling, according to their legends the star dragon who gave life to the world from his light he radiated, as well as fathering the dragons Greygnarl and Catastros. He also learnt that the dragons whom they worshiped, apparently, turn into stars upon their death, granting lights in the skies. Interestingly enough, they believe that falling stars are falling Dragons, similar to the principle of fallen angels, whereby they evolve into dark entities; according to myths the Thorn Dragons are corrupted dragon souls taken the form of a plant, thus their hatred for the creatures. Interestingly enough, this is where Celio’s innate ability to sense Draconic presence comes from. One of his more recent endevours was his journey to Stellos, where he was a tad short of funds, and so fought his anxieties and played his flute in public for some gold to spend; instead he was picked up by a Guild Member of the Sol Guild, who introduced him to many people of the guild as well as offering him a bed. Celio asked if he could stay for a while to learn a little more, and came to eventually figure out they all used powers which, claimed, to have come from the stars, which intrigued him due to the nature of his people, so asking about them he received the answer that he could very well be amongst the Starbound, and thus he became a member to the guild, although he himself does question whether or not he is a Starbound. At the moment he’s wandering around the city of Stellos, shirking from learning to control Greygnarl, however recently he has begun to hear from the dragon, Greygnarl has began to speak to him in his dreams, however more so a different side of the dragon, a side who will tolerate the boy enough to hear a single word that leaves his lips, or more logically leaves his thoughts.[/spoiler] [b]Combat Info[/b] [spoiler=Magic:]Celio makes use of draconic magic, an evident occurrence due to his village’s firm beliefs in the dragon heritage they claim that runs through their veins, although the true origins of said magic merely come from practising old methodology. Though he typically channels his projectile blast magic through his sword, usually in the form of a slash or pointing the tip to the target, Celio’s magic can be charged through placing his palms close to each other, [url="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Variations_of_green#Kelly_green"]a Kelly green[/url] colour of magic. Draconic magic varies in accordance to the dragon, in which case Celio’s dragon takes an Eastern Appearance and thus he can make use of divine power, which in his current state is strictly to Holy Fire and Storm Magic; that, and of course summoning his Spirit Dragon…which at the current time is certainly a bad idea. He also makes use of other Village abilities, known as Wyrmagic as they are said to come from draconic origins. There is an evident weakness in Celio’s magic usage: most of his techniques rely upon the use of his sword, and therefore without it he could severely limit his magic capabilities. Despite this, Celio’s all-around magic could make him a bonafide Jack of All Trades. [spoiler=Holy Fire Magic:]Celio can manipulate holy flames, which are especially effective against evil and demons. It may also immobilize his enemies rather than damaging outright. The colour of the flames varies, Celio’s holy fire being pure white. Some flames can have different properties and abilities, Celio’s own flames possessing the power to heal allies and banish demonic entities rather than merely killing them, as well as being capable of using an immobilizing spell.[spoiler=Specific Techniques]Holy Fire Slash: A slash imbued with Holy Fire, strictly for damaging purposes; rather than killing a demonic entity, the attack banishes their soul from their body. Holy Fire Blast: Pointing the tip of his sword, or a charged aura from his palm, Celio can launch a single ball of Holy Fire. Divine Paralysis: A blast fired from the tip of Celio’s sword, either to burn or paralyzes his enemies. Heal: health restoration ability, fairly simple.[/spoiler][/spoiler][spoiler=Storm Magic:]Celio can manipulate storms, including winds, thunder and lightning.[spoiler=Specific Techniques]Lightning Bolt: Celio fires a bolt of lightning from the tip of his sword at his enemies, inflicting standard electrical damage, with high critical hit likelihood. Razor Wind: By slashing the air, Celio can propel a blade of pure air towards his enemy. Blizzard Blade: If cold enough, Celio’s sword can imbue itself with Ice, which can cause a frosty injury if his sword connects. Thunder Roar: By compressing Storm magic in his palms, before collapsing it in his palms, Celio can emit a large sonic roar, sounding like thunder, quite useful for intimidation purposes.[/spoiler][/spoiler][spoiler=Wyrmagic]Celio can make use of the magic that was passed down through his people over the generations, Wyrmagic, which is said to come from Draconic essence and life force itself. It is linked to his Zodiacal sign, Aries, which grants him strength based abilities.[spoiler=Specific Techniques:] Scale Force: Drawing the power from dragon scales, Celio can generate, via channelling through his palms, for limited time, strong skin with is much more enduring due to the buff. He cannot use this upon himself, and it only lasts as long as he creates the magic. Dragon Sense: More of an immediate ability, upon sight Celio can instinctively tell if they possess any form of draconic bloodline within their anatomy. Dragon Blast: A very unique ability, Celio can easily morph any energy blast technique into the form of a dragon (Eastern), which is done mentally, however burning up double the cost for much more power. Dragon Force: Similar to Scale Force, Celio can share some of Greygnarl’s abilities upon an ally, granting them new techniques as long as he uses it, of course to a very lower level of power. Advanced meditation: By beginning to meditate, Celio’s senses enhance to a greater level, as well as his recovery rates slightly improving through this calmer state of mind. Dragon Fist: Burning up all his magic energy, Celio lunges a powerful fist imbued with his magical energy, emanating a dragon’s head at his fist. He can punch dead on, or simply first the dragon as he would do in a normal Dragon Blast. [/spoiler][/spoiler][spoiler=Spirit Dragon:]Celio can call forth his currently very grumpy and arrogant old-timer Spirit Dragon; Greygnarl is Celio’s Dragon, a powerful entity whose control over the skies is fabled. Alas, this dragon has almost no respect, or interest even, in the young lad, and says numerous times that he’ll just “Wait out his lifetime ’til the worthy ones come.” obviously expressing his distaste; one day Celio is determined to make Greygnarl pull his weight. [spoiler=Greygnarl’s Appearance][img]http://i.imgur.com/r0HRd.jpg[/img][/spoiler][spoiler=Greygnarl’s Attacks] -Lightning Mastery: Greygnarl can make use of lightning in a ferocious manner, a simple roar can bring forth apocalyptic lightning from the heavens above which does catastrophic damage to the unfortunate victims. -Flash: Greygnarl can emit a radiant flash, blinding those affected by it temporarily. -Holy Fire Mastery: Greygnarl’s conjury over Holy Fire is a force to be reckoned with, the dragon adoring firing a meteor of the stuff to crush his enemies in a blazing monstrosity. -Hell Fire Mastery: Greygnarl, too, can make abundant use of Hell Fire, which in contrast to holy fire are much more based on sheer destruction, capable of burning without a by-product, annihilating those who fall victim to his fury. -[url="http://i.imgur.com/gbkEt.jpg"]Full Drake Armour[/url]: Greygnarl can metamorphisize his anatomy into a set of armour by merging with Celio, equipping him in armour which grants Celio Greygnarl's own abilities.[/spoiler][/spoiler][/spoiler]Celestial Mana Colour: White with a blue glow [spoiler=Weapon(s):] Celio carries with him a cherished weapon, a sword specifically crafted in order to channel the use of magic through it, as well as serve as a pretty decent weapon on the whole. Rumour is that it is crafted from pure green dragon scales, although to be honest Celio cares not how much it’s worth, but the sentimental value; this sword also harbours the spirit of his Spirit Dragon Greygnarl.
