Firstly, remove the text. It distracts from the focal far too much.

With "tags" like these you can't really critique them as one normally would.
Concept is everything because execution usually turns turns out to be a mere 2-8 layers.
You need to take the original stock and make it paramount, without adding to many extra external fx.
You've got only to work mainly with what is presented to you, the stock and filters.

One could argue that this isn't doing much, or being original in any way, but in actuality this is extremely difficult for anyone who does not know much of PS/GIMP.

Now I do feel that there could have been more done to this, such as proper lighting and depth which are key factors in photography (which in a sense, this is photography to the second degree).
This could have easily been applied with gradients (White -> Black), and fiddling with blur filters and the erase/pen tool.

As for the actual piece, I do like how you've added the neon green to the spider, making it look almost as if it's storing toxic. This is something that is not present with the original.
You took something that was somewhat menacing and made it paramount. You've successfully heightened the feeling the viewer gets from photography. Which is something everyone should aim for when applying a photo manip.
I hope this helped, and for what it is, I love it. Would love to see more.
