ok i know i keep asking but it seems like some people are currently able to get on and i can't figure out whats wrong does anybody know? :(

If you're talking about the "Portalguest" and a 3 digit number, that's just people who haven't or can't log on. Nobody has been able to get on

Apparently it's still off so nobody can log in. 

Wondering when the issues are going to be done with

I'm wondering as well, but I plan on being patient. It's great enough that Sea actually made this for us and is actually putting his time into investigating into what the issue is, now we need to pay him back with patience

I do believe he means that. So like this (I assume):

 

Set: UserName

Sub-Set: Archetype

 

Any sort of searching for this would probably have to search through both fields for 1 result and return both set and sub (if a sub was found), or all (if a set was found)

obviously it's a bug and I've already seen that post and agreed with it, was there point to quote this? there's a slight difference between saying "plz fix errors" and saying you wonder when the issues will be done with < which is a self-aware way to raise the general subject again. 

I'm patient and not urging anyone, even more so - I think he should take his time and resolve it the best but I see no reason why shouldn't we talk about it at all in between ourselves.

As mentioned several times, the server is off/on.

People can go on at certain times, but for the most part; we're avoiding it until things are cleared up and works without problem.

 

That's why Toyo's Deckswap tournament is out of commission for a while.

 

You guys can talk about any specific errors that need to be fixed, but just don't keep bothering seatteite to fix it; he knows that there are some bugs that need fixing.

Cards could be bigger though, yes, and Deck editor could be more fluid.

Otherwise, I don't have a problem with how DP is structured at the moment.

 

For most intents/purposes, we can suggest any possible fixes, but let's allow seatteite to fix the general bugs first before he deals with the DP thing, adding Pendulums and whatever else.

Eh, rather than trivial improvements such as card animations or DN's stupid dragging things around system I'd rather have all the glitches and stuff ironed out first. The "everything explodes when you destroy an Xyz without detaching mats" glitch is still there, the server implodes when there's >7 people around, watching duels is prone to glitching out, etc. I wanna see those glitches fixed before we make it look fancier.

 

However, I do want to see Pendulums added, or at the very least the Pendulum card zone.

When Duel Portal is down, I look like Schwarzenegger whose eyeballs are popping out while he's on Mars.

 

My holidays are about to end so I hope DP will be back soon (for good).

I have been staring at a wall for the past 4 days. And checking this forum/DP every 5 minutes to see if there are any updates on it.

Remember that coding on DP takes A LOT of effort to take care of; because sea has to figure out WHAT part of the program is leading to these errors so he can fix it.

 

(This is coming from someone who has to learn C for a degree, so yeah)

 

 

Again, just be patient and wait for him to fix things.

Otherwise, you can just proxy a ton of stuff on DN (but I'd probably advise against it, due to confusion issues)

Basically, use Dueling Network to have any matches and substitute whatever's on there with the custom cards that you would've used on Duel Portal.

For instance, let's say you were testing Toyo's Mikos.

 

Just find a set of Effect Monsters with the same Level on DN; and treat them as said cards.

I'm gonna pass. I'll just wait for DP to be back up.

I did advise against doing that (DN proxying), because trying to remember which cards stand for which will prove to be a major pain in the ass.

Otherwise, you could just play on YGOPro; but coding is also a b**** to deal with + requires that both of you have your desired stuff programmed.

Yeah, my initial plan was to code all of my custom cards to play with them on YGOPro against my friend but I couldn't code sh*t so I just stumbled upon this site. This site is the best thing ever. I hope this site won't die or anything... the thought of that happening scares me. And I hope sea fixes the site being down for good.

Theres an alternative, that is easy to use and is stable. Try using Lackey CCG, make yugioh plug-in, or just use the one already made, and just edit or add your cards in cards list. I know it can work, because I made Yugioh Bandai Plugin and it works perfectly.

PS: This image is a joke, I made it in Photoshop because I have nothing else do to and I'm getting tired of waiting for DP. Don't take it seriously.

Answers to the above will ease up things in waiting - because right now we have no indication of the progress at all, i.e the mindset is paradoxically "it could be fixed any day now" and at the same time "could be fixed in a month or longer". I honestly don't know on which to settle and would be nice if you could clarify that out.

I'll repeat the questions:

  • Is the bug/problem recognized?
  • Is there a lead / a direction of work?

The problem was the software I was using was made by someone who didn't know there were some glaring bugs. It would take forever for me to find and fix them.

 

So I have to restructure the entire server. That's why it's taking so long.

 

When I say I'm working on it, trust me, I really am working on it. I know what the problem is, I've been coding this entire time.

 

I want to say two more days, but I'm in school and things get in the way. Unfortunately, it's only me, and not a whole team of developers like on YGOPRO ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
