My card is apparently public and can't be edited by me (says I'm not the owner).

would be glad if it could be removed so I could post a nerfed version. El Shaddoll Tevilah

try making it not pub again, and fiddling with the "only maker can edit" button

Apparently for some reasons, when I log in, the error you get when the server failed to load the cardpool appears, but when i refreshed the page, when I try to log in, it says "This service is not available", even when everyone else seems to be able to log in and duel without problems.

EDIT: Nevermind, apparently when I refreshed the page and tried to log in, the server went offline.

Managed to get this error again, well a lot actually. It's weird since my internet's not being slow at all currently, yet it kept on happening.

This kind of thing is not uncommon. You just gotta work through it.

this and + same problem with "High Fairy Ellale". why does this even happen.

edit nvm ellale got resolved somehow.

tevilah persists claiming it doesn't want me to edit any of it.

edit 2: ellale is uneditable again.

Just tried to give a revamp to my archetype and was uploading the new cards, but unfortunately, I keep getting random artworks from the cards I deleted. How would I fix this? Is it possible that the images are still in the database and that did something?

EDIT: Now my Extra Deck is screwed up and has some of Marco's cards, but has my artwork

I had this problem too. Deleting cookies probably will work for solving this.

Oooh, random idea!

Can we separate Public cards into two categories: one for all of our custom cards we want to make public, and then one other one for the cards from the real game? It's kinda frustrating trying to search through cards to fill up the extra Deck or the last few remaining spots in my Deck, for example, and the search results are flooded with a bunch of other peoples' customs. I know that this is what the KONAMI Set is for, but some people are for some reason not using it, and we end up with a bunch of random Sets with a few random real cards in them. Giving the real cards their own section separate from Public also means we can sort through the cards more easily, and they can have the same Set privileges as the rest of the cards do. We can have a Set just for Fire Fist cards, for example.

Also, can we please move the EVO Set to its own CCG? It's already been said that it was intended to be so in one of the cards, and it has so many cards in the Set that it's making editing cards a pain. DP freezes every time I click the edit card section, and Ain can't even get on.

EDIT: Is there also a way to let archetypes load separately from the rest of the public cards? Like, maybe only when you start a duel? They also take up a ton of space.

Made it private. This should probably be fixed next update.

It could be 'slower' than you think. Like how people say the EVO set is slowing everything down but I haven't noticed a performance change.

I have a theory. The DP server is in america, and you're, well, not :P The distance could be a factor.

Okay, made public. Again, will probably be fixed soon.

Close. Not cookies, but your browser cache can store images of previously loaded cards, and use those.

I'm still trying to find a way to get around this without severely hampering performance.

I like that idea, and it's been brought up before. I'll reorganize the Public / TCG stuff regardless, but I had an idea.

What if I made an option to load another creator's cards? And you could make some of your cards visible to people who load your cards. You could put them in your deck, but not edit them.

I know it's nice to show other people your cards easily, but it's not more important than letting everyone else  navigate the site easily. We'd still have public cards, but they would be more for the 'meta', and TCG equivalents, everything else would be removed. What do you all think?

(Also i'll try to get those EVOs their CCG)

I'm guessing that it'll become its own format of such; you use whatever cards are available in that, and duel with them.

That's the mentality I'm getting from this.

On a non-duelist note, I know seatteite mentioned needing assistance with running DP and other programming things.

What sort of person is he in need of (or more specifically, programming language)?

Depending on things go at the end of the semester, I might be able to help out with stuff (assuming my knowledge of C is adequate enough + other stuff)

I heard EVO being talked about. Since that's my project, I would like to know what making it a CCG does?

Well, it would mean that EVO cards won't be on the DP server. Having 50 or so pages of EVO cards really lags the server, and it's noticeable by how long it takes to load up the public cards pool.

I don't really have any lag at all, might just be you. There are about 200 pages of public cards, about 70 of them are EVO, so even if they were moved, what we have would still be more than what we have with EVO.

I never noticed this lag thing when dealing with EVO cards. Granted I don't truly know what they are outside of a different set of cards.

EVO (Project Evolution) is a project I run on DNF, which is similar to the Rebirth project on this site, though with its own differences. It's basically just YGO if it was started over, where card balance is important, and where people can post cards. If you want to learn more, feel free to check it out:

Speaking from experience, it doesn't do too much at all, and it would probably help you more than hurt you.

CCGers have their own card pool that they need to specify when they first make an account (if you have a default account you can always migrate to a CCG but you'll lose your private cards and decklists in the process). The interface is exactly the same as if you were in Default, and you can even chat and duel with people who are using the public card pool. However, you don't have access to the public card pool itself, and as far as I know all cards you submit are treated as public within your CCG (might be wrong about this). This means that anyone within the CCG can add/edit cards to it, but they will only show up to people who are playing your CCG.

Now, there are some really good things about a CCG. The first one is one you already guessed; you can have your own custom banlist. I don't think there's an option for players to update the banlist, though, so you'd have to tell Sea to do it for you. But it's definitely better than having the TCG list, especially if you don't use those cards in your CCG anyway. Another thing is that you can have booster set names; you don't have to have all your cards tagged as "EVO", for instance. If you release your cards in sets, you can divide them up into such sets. Or, you can have each card creator categorize their cards with a different tag. Finally (and this is something just for fun), you can give all cards in your CCG card lores. You know how Normal monsters have these really cool descriptions, but none of the other monsters do? Well now you can give Effect/Fusion/Synchro/whatever monsters those cool descriptions too, and they'll show up below their card effects. There may be other perks but that's all I can think of at the moment.

So because there are so many EVO cards and EVO players, I think it'd be a good investment for you to try. The only downside is that you'd have to rebuild your decks again, but you can always copy them to a clipboard before you switch card pools.
