Duel Portal - Duel with your created cards [SUPPORT THREAD] [ONLINE]

Whatever's on DP at the moment is fair game.

As for the 2nd part, that can be arranged.

Like I noted earlier, whoever does the evaluation should've passed the judging exam (you know the one in Card Contests).

Yeah, the cards can simply be edited before the tournament, so we don't have to ban them (or at the worst, just Limit them).

Then again, it may prove to be a pain in the neck.

Nai and I need to discuss things some more. (They can be the card reviewer if needed)

@Unending: Just wait for the thread to appear.

It'll have the format and other formalities.

Thanks very much for fixing the registration and card deletion problems.  A couple more problems though.  First, your opponent's moves don't always register on your field.  By the end of the game you'll both be looking at some VERY different fields. Second, um, how do you draw?  I see a button for letting your opponent draw from your deck but not one to draw from your own!

Not sure about the first one, but the second one...

Double click on the top of your deck.

Yeah, that's where I thought about putting it originally, but think I put it in here due to it being more of a DN-style tournament than a card making one.

Should probably adjust Card Contests to cater to YGOPro/DP tournaments if that's the case.

As a reminder for everyone, make sure you submit your entry in the thread itself; but PM both Nai and myself your lists + any links to custom cards.

Hmm... do you (or your opponent) have a strong internet connection? That's my first guess. But i'll look into it tomorrow.

@seattleleite: Can you help me download it on my Mac. It won't work no matter what I try! Could it be possible to write a guide with instructions please! Thank you!

Unfortunately I have Windows 7 so I won't be of much help :(

Have you looked here? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Silverlight#Supported_platforms

What browsers have you tried?

Just reporting a card I made but cannot delete. The card's name is "Despair Circle of the Dark Master". Whenever I attempt to edit it I get the message "This card is read-only, and you are not the original owner".

...weird. I fixed it.

Is there any chance the banlist can be updated soon? I wanted to include a 2nd Gorz in my side Deck, but I cannot as of now

I'll get to it tomorrow.

Side question, when did konami start updating their banlist every month or so?? Geez.  :P

Apparently, the bug where your opponent can't see your actions still persisted.

Just dueled against Avaren earlier, and he couldn't see my actions.

Need more testing to see whether this has to do with my connection or is it someting else entirely.

EDIT:

Apparently it only applies to custom monsters, and only when they're set to Private instead of public.

Yeah, I was playing a match against Lovely Day early this morning on DP; thought I Bottomless'd one of his monsters but it didn't show.

Then again, there were a couple error messages when it happened.

Anyway Nai should've received your PMed decklists (if I haven't already forwarded them).

--

From testing my own Deck yesterday, it really does spam like hell. (Then again, both of us did it quite a bit)

Of course, lack of backrow removal kinda sucks, so need to fix that.

I suggest to work on a list of available archetypes and cards so we get a better picture of what exactly is on DN and what could be fixed even if just from theory.

Also, I noticed Forbidden cards were submitted to Public (e.g. Graceful Charity). Since we can't use them, I will delete them to clean things up by a bit.

Just remembered Traditional Format is available so I will leave them there.

One thing that has been brought to light by the rule change where the player going first doesn't draw in the Draw Phase, but I haven't bothered to speak about now.

Under the current system that we use to establish who goes first, we roll dice and whoever has the higher number "wins the rock-paper-scissors match," meaning they get to pick who goes first. If they tie, they just go at it again. However, when you choose who goes first, both players know what they have in their hands. This means that, unlike other Yugioh-hosting sites (and in real life), you can make your decision based on whether your hand of five is good enough, if you need a sixth draw, or if your hand is more suited to reacting to what your opponent has rather than establishing your own field before your opponent's turn.

I'm wondering if there is some way this can be changed?

I've said it before and I'll say it again: It would probably simplify matters some if there could be at least one other person working on DP. (Not a demand, just a suggestion)

As seatellite already mentioned, he's the only one working on this thing; but would help.

That being said, whoever does needs to be proficient in programming/coding things.

used to be you would roll, then hit the draw 5 button, but alas you auto draw 5 now

I already told him to ask in Questions & Help next time if it's not related to Duel Portal.

Anyway, if you've noticed seatellite's status, he is looking for help; probably be good if you're sufficient in programming.

(I'm taking programming next semester in college, but it's geared for engineering; whether or not it'll help in this case remains unclear)
