It's not monetary, it's technical. Loading that many cards everytime someone logs in, I just don't see a way around it.

Technical? I see, I'll come up with a stable idea then and see if you can implement it. I'll PM you more details once it's complete. About how much space does each card take up and how fast is the upload per second or (1/10th) of a second?

For those of you who did not go back to page 90.

So I decided that I will try to release 2 single card spotlights a week and 1 archetype spotlight a week. The schedule will be:

Single Card Spotlight - Monday

Single Card Spotlight - Wednesday

Archetype Spotlight - Friday

 

I'm already working on some right now but this schedule will NOT start until next week. So with that being said, be sure to send in your cards and their stories. If you need the details on what to submit check out Duel Portal Central facebook page or scroll up to see my other post.

 

Edit: Also, anyone with a good microphone/speaking voice that can speak clear English that is interested in being the voice for the Spotlight videos, PM me and let me know. Could really use someone in this department. I could also use people who can draw and color in drawings, and people who know their "Card Grammar" and regular grammar well (Ex. ATK instead of attack or banish instead of removed from play etc etc.), and a good video editor. Um just PM me if you're interested or you have anything you wish to contribute.

Alright cool, and would it also be possible to have the entire database of real cards created? I'm sure the community would help out (I would!)

 

They would also have to be protected and uneditable.

Currently that is impossible as the load time would simply be too stressful for players. Therefore, I am trying to lay something out that CAN make this possible and run it by Sea. But until then cross your fingers. (There are 12,404 real cards btw quite a bit!)

Having every single card in DP's database, while preferable, is not worth it if it cripples the entire thing with loading time. A lot of these cards are never going to be used, and if someone wants to use that card, he/she can add it on his/her own. We don't need to add Hard Armor of all things to DP.

Exactly which is why it will NOT be done until we come up with a solution in which the speed will not be crippled while loading up the cards. If you were around back from when DP was still something you had to download and use, then you'd know the suffering of waiting that long time for all the cards to load, and back then it wasn't near 12k cards. So once again, it will not happen until a proper solution is found.

I have no idea how Duel Portal works but it sounds like you can use your Custom Cards as well as Duel with what we already have. So I am going to link to my Alternate Card Artwork Archive here. If anyone wants to upload this to DP then by all means do it. Would be an honor for me....

Yeah it's possible. The desktop version had tag dueling (but I did it poorly). After the next update I'll put it on the list.

 

 

Hey, also I can't seem to figure out how to make a card public, but not have it be editable by everyone.

 

You can't, it's designed like that. 

 

If you're putting out spam cards that are showing up on everyone else's account, it allows other people to clean it up.

 

But like Epitome said, people probably aren't going to mess with your cards. At least i've never heard complaints. And even if they do, we have logs to restore the cards / confront whoever changed them.

 

I can't see the pictures from the cards I put in duel portal, I've just finished a 45 cards set and the pictures disappeared  !! What is going on here?

 

Give me an example of a card with a missing image please?
