Duel Portal - Duel with your created cards [SUPPORT THREAD] [ONLINE]

It's easy to miss. When you offered a rematch (which replaced the "surrender" button), and they refused, then you could rate each other's decks.

This was a problem cause everyone just exits out of the duel field if they don't want a rematch.

Also doesn't take into account individual cards, randomness of draw/luck and may miss some cards from the set if not used in the deck.

But it was there.

Since the email system is back, I've gotta create a good way to catch people who registered without verifying.

Someone suggested a better system for rating people's decks, some changes there.

But mostly just testing. The server runs, but I have to make sure it won't crash after a while. So far it's looking good.

Why do we even need email verification?

Nobody spams accounts in there, I can't imagine what possible interaction can DP have with your email, or why'd it want to have access to it, and personally (surely others would agree) would like to avoid anything email related with DP (or any site for the matter). It seems to me like pointless time consumption.

The email-a-member function seems really inefficient, tbh. I hardly ever got any of them, except for this one time some member sent me an email asking if I wanted to duel several days before I checked my email. He could've just sent a message through DP's messaging system, but still. Instead of letting people email each other, maybe we can hook up our DP accounts to our YCM accounts, and by extension, accounts from inferior :3 Yugioh communities such as DNF and Pojo. It shouldn't be mandatory, in case of members who don't want to reveal who they are or if they don't even have an account on any of these places.

I wouldn't really mind email verification for the sake of making sure nobody makes a bajillion troll accounts, though it'd be nice for each email to let you have two accounts if DP is being inactive and you want to duel yourself.

DP is back up (version 5.1) You probably won't notice anything, but a lot has changed 'behind the scenes'. Hope it's for the best :)

Keep in mind there may still be bugs. Please use this thread to report them, and I'll get to them as soon as possible.

It also gives me a way to contact someone, just in case I can't reach them here. And in the case someone DOES spam accounts, I can kinda follow that.

Ohoho. That would be an interesting project :) I wonder if even YCM Admins have access to that?

DP lets you use multiple emails, so no problem.

And now those newbies can stop asking when will DP return, because we got it back.

I have to make some edits to my cards on there; namely stuff that was going to be used in the Deckswap tournament.

Maybe later this week, I'll get the April one started.

Late, but who cares.

(I didn't get last month because cancelled, so doing it now. Then again, Nai is busy and doesn't handle contests lately.)

Speaking of bugs, this pops up whenever I try to save a deck:

[Arg_NullReferenceException]

I actually had half a guess when the page was slightly different but..okay then

A question I had been meaning to ask, is, what happens if there are "card clashes"?

Or would it simply be up to "majority basis aka discussion" or "first come first serve"?
(Clashes either in the form of card name and/or effect..mostly meaning about names though.)

Otherwise uhm..I'm not sure if I should be asking this here, but can cards be "taken down" or whatever if they have no and/or similar images (because a bunch of my cards have similar images, welp)

1. There shouldn't be any cases of two cards sharing the same name, but if it happens, you can just rename it slightly (even if you have to put an extra letter) and you should be fine.

(Or just put your name in parentheses)

2. We'll only take down cards if they're broken as hell; but usually we'll bring it up first, and if it's your card; we'll fix it.

Images, we don't take them down, because a lot of us don't have pics.

Just for reference, most of my Psychic Dragons lack images.

Glad to see that it's up again. One thing I noticed is that making custom Sub-Types could be an issue in case you want to make Extra Deck monsters. How does it know that they are suppose to be put in the Extra Deck?

I just uploaded a bunch of cards that I made from the point of it being down to now. You can find random cards I made under the RAND tag.

I also put up my Archetypes I made, Gambleruption, Decay Dragon, Glowing Skies and Leviafish, all of which are tagged with the appropriate name.

Hey seattleite.

I can't access my account because I gave the site a made-up email to register myself fast. I can't verify it because

a)it probably doesn't exist

b)if it does I have no access to it

c)I don't even remember what I made up.

simple.

Can you verify me manually?
