I’ll rate cards in scores of 100 for this.

80 for balance, and 20 for naming and pics.

Now, there are the good cards, and the bad cards.

The bad cards are bad because they’re either (i) too situational, and/or weak to be used, as in Hinotama or The Winged Dragon of Ra, or (ii) way too broken, be it a staple or something that belongs in just a particular deck, as in Trap Dustshoot and Dark Strike Fighter. The good-design cards are good because they’re either (i) an amazing staple if released, as in Pot of Duality, or (ii) a card that support an under-supported archetype/deck and pushes it up, as in W Nebula Meteor.

Let’s sort the entries by A, B, C, and D. As are the underpowered stuff. Bs are the overpowered stuff. Cs are the staples that are good for the game. Ds are the good support cards.

Now, if you get rated A or B, that automatically means there’s no chance of winning. Why? Because that’s meh card design.

If you get C or D, I’ll score you from 0 to 10 on that type, and then multiply it by either 8 (if it’s C,) or 7 (if it’s D). That’s because it’s harder to make staples.

Then, I’ll rate the 20 for naming and pics by:
8 = Just naming
8 = Just pic
4 = Whether they fit together.

Vairocana (Cyber Warrior Alpha)
Okay, so this monster requires a tribute, and doesn’t have a summoning condition. High-Level Warriors don’t have much support, either. The only really used LIGHT support card is Honest. So the uses of this card depend on its stats and eff.

Well, this is basically a better Spell Canceller. The problem is that Spell Canceller is terrible. Sure, being able to stop any Spell Card is neat, but sadly most of the current Yugioh format depends on Monster Effects. Dragonfly, Rabbit, etc.

Also, it’s near impossible to Tribute Summon in this format, unless you’re using a deck dedicated to that. And Monarchs don’t have space to run this. Caius, Raiza, Vanity’s Fiend, etc. take up that space.

The eff about attacking a Spellcaster is virtually pointless, given it’s way too situational. The eff about making a Spell or a Spellcaster an Axe of Despair isn’t really bad, but…I doubt you’d run many Spells in a deck running this anyways.

Basically, this doesn’t support anything. It isn’t a staple. It’s also not overpowered. It belongs in [b]A[/b].

On the note of artwork and naming – It’s the typical “background-less” card, and its name isn’t that original either. No offense, but I don’t really like it.

Advice: If you’re gonna make a Level 5 or higher monster that doesn’t SS itself, it’s gotta be good like Caius or Raiza. If it’s Level 7 or higher, think of LADD.

Negating Spells is quite a problematic eff, given it’s a flawed concept. You make it good, it’s broken. You make it bad, it’s terrible. It’s extremely difficult to balance it out, so I’ve never made it myself. Check “Imperial Order” and the aforementioned “Spell Canceller”. Or, Magic Jammer, on that note.

The only real balanced Spell-negating card I know is Village. It effectively shuts down Spells, but only in a particular situation. It also has a drawback eff.

Also, don’t make highly situational effs that are pointless, like your “when attacking a Spellcaster”. Unless it’s like Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror, and is a quite sideworthy card, it’s a waste of an eff, and overall downgrades the card.

Remei11 (Rai ‘Zek the Corrupted Thunder King)

Well, it’s got summoning conditions, and can be revived. The problem is that it requires running three attributes that have absolutely no synergy altogether to summon using its own eff. It isn’t very searchable either. I wouldn’t wanna run this, or make a deck around it.

Well, it does have a good thing – it can be summoned in ways besides its own eff. It’s also got an eff that generates mass +1s, but isn’t that broken because it relies on the opponent. That’s an example of good card design.

The problem is, it’s Thunder, which means it has like, basically, zero support. If it were Dragon, it could have been fun in Hopeless given its draw power, but…

Close but no cigar. If you had made it Dragon-Type, would’ve belonged in D, but. Yeah – [b]A[/b].

Name is quite interesting, but I wouldn’t make it “Thunder King”. I know a particular, very famous Thunder King who isn’t happy about this, you know... Yeah, that guy that negs SS-es and stops searching. That one.

Advice: Well, make summoning conditions better. Look at Machina Fortress and Grapha and such. Even they aren’t top-tier because they aren’t as consistent as DinoRabbit or Inzektors. You’re already okay on effs, but you could make the ATK 2800 or something, still.

Quite nice.

Captain_Vash (The Grand Bazaar)

Okay, so I mean, some broken stuff I can understand, but this…no, really.

This card is basically a win condition for anything. With a cost of 1500 Life Points (which is pretty much pointless given you’re going to win the turn you use this anyways), you can draw 3 cards. You made this a bit too grand – [b]B[/b].

Art isn’t very Yugioh-ish either.

HiJackAttack (Elemental HERO Leviathan Diver)

Well, this is basically Aqua Dolphin support, which automatically makes this a casual card. Its eff could make it either A or D.

If it weren’t a card made for casual purposes, I would have compared this with Ab-Zero, but given this is a card that says “fun” all over it, I’ll just nod and go on.

On the first eff: Great. Most likely you’ll be using Miracle Fusion with this, and the monster you Banish will be Neos Alius (in a situation in which this is better than Zero). Which allows you to SS it, and go straight for a Gemini Spark. Also, you can stop worrying about how you can’t use Hero Blast if you Banish Neos Alius with Miracle Fusion because another guy comes hopping out of your deck. (Or, you can go for another Aqua Dolphin, if you wanna.)

The battle-by-destruction effect is sorta pointless, given its high ATK. Change it to something else.

The last eff is neat. You can change anything in your hand into Stratos.

Okay, so summoning this in the best way requires a Miracle Fusion, Stratos and Neos Alius, meaning Shining is godly in this situation, but I’ll still ignore those screams because this is a casual card.

It could be done better, but if this was released, I’ll make its own deck just for fun. I say this belongs in D.

Of D, I rate this 7. It’s not very amazing support, at least compared to W Nebula Meteor and such.

The artwork and naming is amazing. Nothing to say here – 20.

Advice: Umm, the second eff is, as aforementioned, pointless. Maybe change it to something related to Aqua Dolphin’s eff?

BCTElite (Mothering Dragon)

Much like Vairocana’s card, this is a Monarch-ish card. It’s also got a draw eff.

I’ll neg the explanation on Tribute Summoning this format since I already said that in Vairocana’s ratings, but well, in short it’s got to be as good as Caius.

And is this? Sadly, no.

Frognarchs run some number of Monsters, but all Monarchs have low DEF, meaning it’s anti-synergy with this effect. If you draw a S/T, it basically kills it on the spot.

Of course, this is a motherfriggin Dragon, meaning it gains access to all the broken hype support that’s ruled the undermeta formats since the beginning of time. Problem is, it’s better to go for Prime Material Dragon, and…yeah. [b]A[/b].

Name and art match, but yeah, it’s A, so it’s an A.

[b]Rating: X[/b]

Advice: Why not make it like Evigishki Levianima? No drawback, with an extra piece of goodies if it works.

~Forward~ (Forward: Crescent Dragon)

Haven’t taken a look at rest of this “Forward” archetype, but I assume they’re all like this in terms of balance.

For very easy activation conditions, this gains some considerable ATK, immunity to any S/T, and a revival eff. Sure, you can’t Sync it, but you can Xyz. Many good Level 4s are out there.

As far as I can estimate from just this card, this seems pretty good. I say D.

Of D, I rate this 8. It’s like Debris and Junk, except a bit more balanced. I like it.

Pic seems a bit blurry, and I’m not sure if it’s a Crescent, but okay. 12/20.

Advice: Not sure what to say given I haven’t seen other members of this archetype.

Enguin (Zokan Omega)

I like it. I extremely like it.

Summoning conditions make this more of a non-tournament card, but a walking DDR makes up for it. Best targets are, off the top of my head, Dark Horus, REDMD, Dark Simorgh, Darklord Asmodeus, Darklord Zerato, and Yubel. The best decks to run this in are Hopeless and Darklords, I say. And it’s hella easy to fill the Graveyard with DARKs, of course.

Also, I don’t know if you did this on purpose, but its last eff can SS a second “Zokan Omega” if you didn’t use the 800-decrease eff. Thus, this can protect itself from destruction countless times (you didn’t allow this to SS from the Graveyard, so this can’t revive itself – that’s another good thing).

These two make this extremely worth the effort. A perfect example of Card Type D IMO.

I don’t really know or care what “Zokan” means, but name and pic are cool.

[b]Rating: 7x10+20=90[/b]

TBH this is perfect card design, and I don’t have any real advice to say.

…Um, I would never use this.

The effects are quite worthless, given almost nothing you see in duels is higher than 3000 anyways. If this had said card effs instead I would have run it, but…nahhhhhh. [b]A[/b].

Pic and name are too bland, too.

Why Remei11 as 4th? Because duh, he’s the best of the “X” rated stuff by far.
