I thought that because of the second song of the week we had, we could give them a "ticket" and at some point, the member who collected the most of them wins...something. This is my first time doing something like this, so I’ll just give it to ya straight.[/center] [center]I’m here reviewing the TV show “The Legend of Korra” which is the sequel/spinoff of the popular series “Avatar: The last Airbender”. I myself was a huge fan of Avatar, and especially Aang, possibly one of the only protagonists that was a very popular favorite among fans. The comedy in that show was just perfect. But I’m not here to review The Last Airbender, I’m here to review The Legend of Korra. But to start, you need to understand the story of Avatar.[/center] [center]In the world of Avatar, the ability to have elemental control was quite common. Fire, Water, Earth, and Air. There were four nations in the world, each for one of these elements. In the time of The Last Airbender, one of those nations was basically at war with all the others. That one was the Fire Nation, led by Fire Lord Ozai and his son Zuko.[/center] [center]The Avatar, Aang, had been frozen underneath the water for a long time. When he finally awoke, for a reason I cant remember, the Fire Nation wanted him gone. So, they embarked on a long campaign to get rid of him.[/center] [center]Eventually, Zuko turned to the Good Guys, and after the plot of Last Airbender was over, Aang and Zuko go build a big republic.[/center] [center]Legend of Korra starts a long time after that.[/center] [center]Most of the main cast is dead. By most, I mean everyone but Katara.[/center] [center]So far, I’ve only watched the first episode. Dunno if more have aired or not. But it certainly looks promising.[/center] [center][b]The Story[/b][/center] [center]So far, the story seems legit. Korra is a teenage girl, knows full well she’s the Avatar, and knows every element but Air. So, Aangs son Tenzin goes south to where Korra is to teach her air. But of course she cant stay long, and goes to Republic City. The capitol of the Republic Aang and Zuko made. Yes, ‘Republic City’ is the actual name. Real creative. Anyway, the story looks really good, and very promising. Lets hope it doesn’t get screwed up like other stuff [/center] [center][b]The Characters[/b][/center] [center]Honestly, the characters seem rather cliche’d so far…Korra is the impatient student, Tenzin is the patient master who loses his temper once and promises to never do it again. Katara, even though she appears for a total of around 5 minutes, is in the classic ‘motherly’ figure. So far, they’re the only main characters that have shown up. We have yet to see the ‘Love Interest’ and the ‘Sarcastic One’ but I hope. I hope that the people writing this get this fixed fast. The current characters need to evolve, fast, and any new introductions shouldn’t be cliched. Meh. The only non-cliché’d person I’ve seen is Police Chief Bei Fong. Great name.[/center] [center][b]Animation[/b][/center] [center]Not much to say here. It’s the exact animeish style that Last Airbender used. Again. Not much to be said.[/center] [center][b]Voice Actors[/b][/center] [center]I don’t know much in this field, but I must say that the voices do match the characters. Their personalities and their design.[/center] [center][b]Overall[/b][/center] [center]Overall, the series is meh so far, but with huge potential and promise. Personally, I like it A LOT so far. The characters need some work, but the story looks great so far.
