Mega Man Zero

Resident Fascist

Recommended Posts

Normal difficulty is a nightmare. Zero, especially the first game, and ZX focus more on survival than the rest of the series. You have to conserve health and have all Sub-Tanks full when you confront the boss or you're screwed. It's a tense thrill though. Kind of like the Resident Evil of Megaman. Enter the Survival Platformer.

I fought Anubis or whatever his name was, and his zombies were complete BS. They ganged up on me, so I was completely trapped. I couldn't move away, so I was forced to watch as Zero was slowly killed. Considering how early into the game I am, either there's a huge learning curve, or this game is just that difficult throughout.

People thing Zero games are hard? Lol

*has played megaman since the age of 5*

The only hard aspect tbh is the cryptic chain of quests that can royally f*** you over at Neo Arcadia if you manage to skip all the important stuff. I vote Zero 2 as hardest mostly because of annoying bad stage design.

Oh also because I caught a ninja as I was typing this, the learning curve is stupidly steep in Z1, but hat's why you go back to the starting area and max level your saber, as well as leveling the buster till you get quick charge.

After you beat the second mandatory level, go back to the intro lab and kill those respawning spiders to grind your weapons and farm for crystals. The Z-Saber has a charge attack after a certain level which is crazy with the element chips. Feed the crystals to special cyber-elves (I don't know where they are, but they tell you what they do) and use them to max your health gauge (heart tanks aren't in this game. Again, the survival aspect I mentioned previous post.) You'll last longer, the game is easier, but you permanently get a reduced ranking for using Cyber-Elves (like how in Resident Evil, using First Aid Sprays ruin your final score) which means nothing in Z1 from what I can tell. Make sure you don't finish the second intro lab mission before you do this, because the place gets wrecked after that mission, and you can't grind anymore.

I beat Z1 with an S rank in everything, never using a single Cyber Elf.

Never... again...

Hahaha ranks do not matter in Z1. At all.

Also speculate on if Zero really died in Z4 or not.

His body was completely destroyed with the remains of Ragnarok, I'm pretty sure he died. [s]Either that or he hid himself while he repaired himself[/s]

His body was in peices actually. One could argue his memory chip and even helmet could have been found and made into Biometal.
[/quote]

Then again he was placed into a copy body in the Zero series. Hence X's line: "It's the heart that counts. Not the body." Also Zero has been revived multiple times so, If his Memory Chip was found he could be rebuilt, I guess.

I never rely liked the Zero games mainly becuase I hate Zero.

Why do you hate Zero? Also: "I never cared about justice, and I don't ever recall calling myself a Hero. I have only ever fought for those who I believe in... I won't hesitate, if an enemy appears in front of me, I will destroy it! Ciel, Believe in me!" Is my favorite line from the entire series.

I still don't like him. If the games stared Bass or Protoman or Roll I might like them more but Zero just acts like a douche and his only emotion is anger. :T I do not and never will like Zero.

Okay fine your opinion is valid, but the games are really amazing and you should just ignore that Zero is the main character and think of it as someone else. Apart from the characters calling him "Zero" he looks nothing like Zero so you could call him something else. All I'm saying is just try the games.

Great series, sweet soundtrack, regarding gameplay mechanics, if you play the game using a keyboard you'll have less trouble clearing the game while using a controller = hell mode , this is of course from a personal experience :)
