Lonk
With the confirmation of SSB4 happening last year and Sakurai starting production, it is time for the prediction season. Since the official Smash Bros. Thread is dead, I thought that this would be a good thread that can generate some worthwhile discussion. So, if one would want to suggest what characters/stages/music tracks/ect, they must make at least 6 sentences backing up why they would want that character/stage/music track/other to be in the game and/or why they would be good for the Smash Bros. Universe. Debates on how the character/stage/music track are welcome, since it promotes thinking. After all, SSB possibilities are not only a meme, but quite a useful discussion generator. Jord200
Well, I heard something on Youtube about Ghirahim being in SSB4. Personally, as for new charecters, I expect...... Zorark ( replacing Lucario ) Sora ( Kingdom Hearts ) Geno ( Super Mario RPG ) Isaac ( Golden Sun ) Ameratsu ( Okami )
❤ Lovely Warrior ❤
I see no more than 1 or two non Nentindo characters getting in. It IS a Nintendo game after all. The characters I see making it in are Zoroark (Replacing Lucario), Krystal (Either replacing Wolf or as an addition), Dixxy Kong (Since she was going to be in Brawl), and maybe another Link clone like Young Link, or Toon Link, or a Zelda clone like Toon Zelda. For 3rd party characters any Capcom character is out since Capcom down right refuses to have anything to do with it but Square Enix has a chance to have a character or two in the game. I would like to see Geno, Black Mage, White Mage, or Ninja. NO Cloud if they are going to include a character It should be one that has actually appeared on a Nintendo console and has appeared either recently, in a game with Nintendo characters, or as a classic. ❤ Lovely Warrior ❤
They only do that in Brawl and in the others it all depends on who you play as. Combos wouldn't work well in Smash Bros since Smash Bros tries to keep everything as simple as possible and so you rely more on skill than just juggling people in a never ending combo. Adding in combos would make things more complected having to input long button combinations and would turn off some fans of the series. I personally hate long button combinations becuase over half the time I can't get them. Which is why I like Smash Bros' easy to use controls. Lonk
I would also like to see more comboing. I loved brawl and all, but the combat was too slow. Compare the Wombo Combo from Melee and the Wombo Combo from Brawl: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pD_imYhNoQ4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bi3bi5WfwXA Even though the 2nd video was a joke, it is quite easy to see the speed difference in the games. Also, I would absolutely love to see Lloyd in the 4th game, and I have my reasons as well: 1) Tales of series was genuinely unknown internationally. However, Tales of Symphonia's release gave the series as a whole much more international popularity. Even then, the series is still quite underrated and, therefore, a Tales represenative can boost the series' popularity. Considering that Lloyd is the main protagonist of Symphonia, the game that put the game on the international map, it would be a good move to put him in. Also, Lloyd has appeared mainly on Nintendo Platform games (Symphonia, SC Legends, and Dawn of the New World/Knight of Ratatosk, ect.). Despite being a 3rd party character, he would fit in perfectly to the universe. 2) Lloyd Irving's moveset is possibly the most easiest for Sakurai to do. Because the Tales series has a strikingly similar combat engine to that of the Smash Bros. series, it really should not be hard to set Lloyd's moves. Lloyd's combat style was practically meant to be put in brawl. 3) There were subtle hints shown that Namco wanted him to be in Brawl. Soul Caliber Legends had Lloyd in it as a guest character, probably because he couldn't make it onto Brawl. Dawn of the New World was made, not just because the fans wanted a continuation from where Symphonia left off, but also to expose more of Lloyd to the world. Even though he wasn't represented well, the intention was pretty clear that Namco wanted him to be in the next Smash Bros. game. 4) Even though Lloyd is not in the top 50 video game characters in Japan, Lloyd Irving is well-liked there, being number 5 in the top Tales characters. 5) Smashboards, the premier Smash Bros. forum, wants him to be in there. They even made a professional and extensive hack of him over Wolf just to fill the void that Lloyd wasn't even in Brawl.

Jord200
Music wise, I expect...... Ghettis Theme, Elite 4 Theme, N's Theme ( Pokemon Black and White ) Probably some Luigi's Mansion 2 Music Ho-oh Theme ( Pokemon HG ) Yin Yarn Battle ( Kirby Cancas Curse ) Groose's Theme ( LoZ Skyward Sword ) Ultimate Show ( Super Paper Mario ) Music from Kid Icarus Uprising Music from Metroid Other M Music from Super Mario Galaxy Primal Dialga ( Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2 ) Final Boss Music from Bowser's Inside Story Should Sonic and Snake return, music from their games Music from Donkey Kong Country Returns Masked Dedede ( Kirby Super Star Ultra ) Various songs from Kingdom Hearts should Sora be in it I can see Lucas and Lucario not returning. Wario, Jigglypuff, Ice Climbers, and Mr. Game and Watch might get the axe.
Lonk
I have a feeling Wario is still going to stay. More specifically, I hope the Final Battle with N theme makes it in. Also, Yin-Yarn battle was from Epic Yarn, not Canvas Curse. I also want the Gym Leader's Final Pokemon to make it in. Also, from Tales of Symphonia, the music should include Beat the Angel, Fighting of the Spirit, Fatalize, the Tower of Salvation, and End of a Thought. Character-wise, Issac has a large chance of making it in. It was a disappointment to see him left out of the playable roster in Brawl. Also, Zoroark would be a good addition. What I would really like to see as a stage is the Venus Lighthouse and the Tower of Salvation's entrance chamber. Venus Lighthouse would have main ground to battle on, and uppercutting your opponent with a strong A^ attack would knock them down into the tower, where the Earth Energy would make them fly upward. Meanwhile, there are also two elevators that can get you a bit lower into the level. The Tower of Salvation chamber would have a Double-Decker Ground, where there will be a lower level and an upper level that is soft ground. There will also be caskets of dead people floating on the far edges of the stage. These caskets will count as platforms. The ones on the left would start at the left bottom and ascend upward to the right while the ones on the right will start on the right top and descend downward to the left. Resident Fascist
The way I want the combo system to work is your attacks get additional ground and wallbounces depending on your opponent's damage, and you can convert single hits into 100%+ with enough skill on the right stage. I also want a combo counter, just because.

Lonk
One possibility I don't see happening is Ridley. After all, seeing Ridley as a boss in brawl eliminated his chances of being a playable character due to how unusual his combat style would be if he was a playable character.
Shradow
Plus, him being downsized to the degree it would take to make him, say Bowser's size, it would be too weird. Petey Piranha would be more likely, if they were to add any sort of boss.
Lonk
I know downsizing Ridley would work, but the fact that he is in the air or on some kind of perch 90% of the time would make him feel akward to play with. Petey can actually be downsized, and he does have a good set of moves to use to warrant him as a playable character.
Lonk
So, no one has any counters about Lloyd being in the next Smash Bros. game (other than the pointless "he's a 3rd party character who's particularly unknown")?
