I'm doing this because I dislike the current format to the extent that I only really play against friends to help them test for whatever event they're going to. Old formats are extremely appealing to me.

Additionally, it's like when Topdeck'n Highlander was big, or when someone posts a Yusei Format deck: it's completely irrelevant to anyone that doesn't play that, but it helps those who want to start off. I would consider this to be a variation of the game that allows for a different type of gameplay than the norm and expands the ways we're creative with the game.

Plus, very interesting things can happen. I remember one guy saying on a DGz thread that Gravekeeper's could have dominated during Chaos format but nobody chose to play them and that a bunch of the top players were idiots for playing Sakuretsu when better cards were available and Mobius was running amok.

You can relive the old days, or live them for the first time, by playing old formats. It's a really enjoyable experience and I hope more people realize this.

Oh yeah I'll do that. From now on, I'll try to make my old deck topics with the set they're up to and the banlist, especially since YCM is mostly newer players. I've been noticing that these topics get loads of views and almost no replies comparatively.

I know this sounds irrelevant but is the ban list that's used in the original Tag Force? My friends and I really like the format wanted to see what the meta looked like but couldn't figure out which list it was.


OT: How broke was Breaker in this format? My only experience in the format is with the Tag Firce AI and they're not that good. And is Mystic Swordsman just for MoF?

Look at the Wikia page for Tag Force.

Breaker was amazing. 1900 gets over just about anything barring monarchs, and it's a +1 right of the bat.
