Make Graphic Competitions a Graphic Design sub-forum, instead of a Showcase sub-forum

Well, Graphic Design is maybe the least active forum, second to News or Debates maybe, but it may be because it's not that visible, I'm sure it would be much more active if it was more "independent", having it under Showcase is like having Card Contests under Realistic Cards, which would make Card Contests MUCH less active. Furthermore, having it under Showcase somewhat decreases interactions between users. Also, I'm sure a lot of people would like to hold a Graphic 1-on-1 or a Graphic Contest, which are very adaptable to the kind of artist a user can make.

...I don't think thats even possible. -.-
Card Contests has its own forum and evidently, its not exactly a hive of activity. I think the graphics forum would still suffer a lack of attention.

I think that despite being under showcase, the graphic contest forum going independant wouldn't make too much difference, I mean it is still clearly visable as the link is directly under the Showcase heading anyway, so anyone reading that heading will likely read the graphics one as well.

It's still much less visible, it doesn't stand out in any kind of way, if it was visible like any "main forum" like General or Realistic Cards" we would have more Graphic Competitions and make it constantly grow, hopefully making it a popular forum, encouraging people even more to make art, something we can only benefit from.

I understand what your saying and its a commendable suggestion. I'm just not convinced it would increase activity in the sub forum that much, that is all. I guess its hard to say for sure unless it is tried but it hasn't worked for some parts of the forum at all. Card Contests have only limited posters and yet the whole website is designed around making Yu-Gi-Oh cards, so a declining site that isn't aimed at graphics being filled with large amounts of people skilled with GIMP/Photoshop seems a bit of a stretch to be honest.

I've been planning to make support threads centered around bettering graphing competitions as a whole, with this implemented it would only better the chances of more members getting involved with graphic design.

Doubt it'll be implemented anytime soon, but I'll go ahead and support because i think it is something that should be established.
