VGVentus
This is my first Sub-Archetype. It focuses on summoning the "Dark World Royalty" and using their effects to discard "Dark World" monsters and activate their effects as if they were discarded by the opponent's cards. Anyway, onto the monsters... Monsters Ma-Genra, Warrior King of Dark World Royalty Rank 4 [Fiend/Xyz/Effect] 2 Level 4 "Dark World" Monsters When a card's effect(s) would be activated: You can detatch 2 Xyz Materials from this card; the effect of that card becomes: "Draw 1 card; your opponent discards 1 card". When this card's last Xyz Material has been detached: Target 2 Level 4 "Dark World" monsters in your Graveyard; Special Summon them. ATK: 2400/DEF: 1800 Vaio-Lette, Warrior Princess of Dark World Royalty Level 4 [Fiend/Effect] If this card is discarded to the Graveyard by a card effect: Special Summon it from the Graveyard. If this card was Special Summoned by its own effect: You can Special Summon 1 Level 4 "Dark World" monster from your Graveyard. ATK: 1700/Def: 1100 Sin-Abar, Warrior Prince of Dark World Royalty Level 4 [Fiend/Effect] Cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. When this card is Special Summoned by the effect of a "Dark World" card: Target a Monster your opponent controls: Take control of it until the End Phase. The card targeted by this effect cannot be used as a Synchro Material Monster or Xyz Material. ATK: 1800/Def: 1700 Fus-Shia, Warrior Queen of Dark World Royalty Level 6 [Fiend/Effect] Cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. Must first be Special Summoned (From your hand) by discarding 1 "Dark World" monster in your hand (Treat it as if it was discarded by an opponent's card effect). If this card is discarded to the Graveyard by a card effect: Target a Spell/Trap card on the field; destroy the target. If this card is discarded to the Graveyard by your opponent's card effect: Destroy all Spell/Trap cards on the field. ATK: 2200/DEF: 2000 Custodes of Dark World Royalty Level 3 [Fiend] The loyal guards of the Warrior King Ma-Genra. Sworn to protect the King's family, the Custodes would rather die than watch their masters suffer. ATK: 1500/DEF: 1500 Saphuron, Captain of the Custodes Level 3 [Fiend/Effect] Once per turn: You can tribute 1 face-up "Custodes of Dark World Royalty" to add 1 "Dark World Royalty" monster to your hand from your deck. Once per turn: You can discard 1 "Dark World Royalty" monster; treat it as if it was discarded by an opponent's card effect. ATK: 1600/DEF: 1500 Spells Dark Royal Seal Quick-Play [Spell] Activate only when a "Dark World" or "Dark World Royalty" monster(s) was destroyed by a card effect and sent to the Graveyard: Target 1 of the destroyed monsters; Special Summon it. During the End Phase: Destroy the monster. Traps Custodes rally! Normal [Trap] Activate only when "Saphuron, Captain of the Custodes" or a "Dark World Royalty" monster is targeted for an attack: Special Summon as many "Custodes of Dark World Royalty" from your Hand, Deck and Graveyard as possible. Until the end of the Battle Phase: Your Opponent can only declare monsters with the name "Custodes of Dark World Royalty" as an attack target. When a "Custodes of Dark World Royalty" Special Summoned by this effect leave the field: Banish it. Dungeon in the Dark Palace Continuous [Trap] Select a monster on the field: It cannot declare an attack. During your 2nd Standby Phase after this card's activation: Destroy the selected monster. If the selected monster is destroyed: Destroy this card. If the selected monster is tributed: the monster Tribute Summoned becomes the target of this effect. More Spells and Traps will come later. Giga Hand
Ma-Genra is overpowered, methinks. Say they try to MST your field spell. You use this card's effect, their card fizzles (+1), your opponent discards (+2), then you discard, say, Broww (+1) and draw 2 cards (+3). This card generates mad advantage if your opponent tries anything, and that example was with one of the weaker cards. Instead of them discarding, how about having them draw instead? They still get the short end of the stick, but at least they can throw stuff at it until it's empty without practically handing the game to you. Speaking of which, that summon effect is unnecessary and overpowered too. Vaio-lette is fine. Gives Xyz options to DWs without being ridiculous. Sin-Abar makes me take back what I said about Vaio-lette not being ridiculous. Mind Control is limited for a reason. Fus-Shia is really silly. Again using Broww, this is a +1 and you get a great beastick. While DWs can do that more than once per turn these days, imagine how it gets when you discard Goldd or Grapha. You nuke 2 cards and get 2 great beatsticks, or you nuke 1 card and might summon something whilst simultaneously hurting your opponent's hand, then bouncing this, getting a greater beatstick and likely using its effect again. The effect upon discard is fine, though. Custodes is... a vanilla. Saphuron doesn't say where to add from. And the only target for its effect that has any meaning is Fus-shia, all things considered this is balanced enough. Link to comment
richbonner93
Ma-Genra is OPed but if you change the effect to maybe : "You can detach 2 Xyz materials..." makes it less OPed and more playable like for Laggia's built in Solemn. And you can tone down the summoning to maybe just 2 Level 4 Fiends. Also, you can make Ma-Genra a little tougher because most monsters that come out in the first-third turn are around 2500. These are just suggestions, but I agree with Giga Hand. Vaio-lette is overall balanced, maybe a little lower DEF but either way its fine. Sin-Abar...to make it less OPed, i would add more restrictions to the taken card, such as "You cannot use it as a Synchro Material Monster or an Xyz Material," but it is all up to you. Fus-shia has its great ability and restriction, but maybe reduce its stats a little to make it less powerful. Other than that, if it was real it would be semi-limited at least because of its potential. Saphuron is a little underpowered to me. If you can tribute just a Dark World monster, it would be more playable. Since you didn't add where you add from, I would assume from the deck. I see the potential in this card, but I can't suggest a restriction since there aren't that many cards but maybe say "except Saphuron." I might have been similar to Giga hand, but this is what I think about it. It is a great concept so please keep adding cards to this set, especially S/T support lol Link to comment
VGVentus
Thanks for the comments! I've edited existing cards and added some Spells and Traps! Link to comment
richbonner93
Now to critique your new cards and the edited ones: Ma-Genra=Overall balanced card and great effect Vaio-lette=great card Sin-abar=Much more balanced Fus-shia=better stats Saphuron=If you lower the stats on him he will become more balanced. Now the new cards: Dark Royal Seal=The lore can be changed to just "Dark World" because the Royalty ones have Dark World already. Other than that, good card. Custodes Rally=In my opinion, this card isn't very good. I mean, that it only works with the normal monster. If it was summoning LV 4s or lower or just Lv 4s it would be more playable. That and the fact that it can only be used during your opponents turn if they declare an attack. Personally, I wouldn't use it but the idea behind it is good. Dungeon in the Dark Place=very interesting concept and the fact that if they tribute it, the new monster still gets this card. Nice idea. Link to comment
