Brandon Michael Geren
Yugioh sucks. So you all should teach me the game, or at least teach me how to learn. yay
Wave_Sine
My recommendation is to meet with someone locally who plays, and have them demo how to play. That's how I learned. The Magic Website may also be a good resource. Also, I believe that Duels of the Planeswalkers, the video game version, has a free demo on Steam.

CDDRodrigo
Learning about Mana Curve, studying other decks, knowing if a card is good by looking at it's Mana Cost and dominating the key words/mechanics. Mana Curve is not an easy concept, but it's basically how your cards are costed. You should include cards of 1, 2, 3, and 4 Converted Mana Cost on your decks. And easy deck to begin is White/Blue Humans, that have a low Curve and does very well on the metagame. Nowadays there are at least 5 decks that are high-tier. Lonk
I really need to learn the rules, because quite frankly, Yu-Gi-Oh is getting stale now. I did the tutorial, and from what I have experienced, Magic is fun. So, Duel of the Planeswalkers, what system is it for? Might want to train using something to emulate the experiences of Magic TCG. CDDRodrigo
Basically: All cards are Spells when they are on the stack. Stack is basically the chain. When you cast a card, it goes to the stack. After the cards resolves, the stack ends, and then another card cast will cause another stack. Instant cards or cards with Flash are like the quick-play spells or trap cards, in which you can activate inside the stacks.

I mean how do you become good?
Steps: THE BASICS: - Start playing with an intro pack...(you can search some and build it in online) - Open some Boosters and search cards that can give said intro pack a boost (You can also try MTG draft Simulators and use the Sealed function for this stuff) - Play a little more till you feel like going to the next step Note: It will be better if you stay in only 1 set for this step. GETTING BETTER: - Now you'll jump from working on only 1 Set to working into a Block (3 sets + 1 Core Set) - Grab an Event Deck...play it - Now you know a little more for Deck Building...Use that knowledge to search to an entire block...mainly the Block that Event Deck belongs to...and search ways to make the deck MOAR playable STARTING PRO PLAYING: - Start by getting acknowledge of cardpool - Do your First Draft - Netdeck your First Standard Deck - Do moar drafts - Learn the Difference between Limited and Constructed - Start researching more sets, You should start playing Standard therefore try to learn what standard cards do...but try also to go a little further and try Extended as shitty as it is - Netdeck your first Extended Deck - Try to build your First Standard Deck from Scratch - Test a lot - Start Drafting Modern Legal Sets (go from the newest to the oldest Decks) - Play a few Extended Blocks - Build your first Extended Deck from Scratch - Play a few Modern Blocks - Build your First Modern Deck - Playtest a lot FINALLY: - Netdeck and build your First competitive Deck More or less...XD
Lonk
No problem with expanding on how many TCGs you play you know. So, what is the average distribution of cards in a Library?
-Lightray Daedalus-
So, what is the average distribution of cards in a Library?
Depends on Decktype/Mana Curve Normally: - Aggresive Deck/Creature Based Decks run a Low Mana Curve (topping at a few/very few 4 drops) a Great amount of creatures (Around 45/55% of the Deck) and a mana Base of around...18/20 lands...most likely this will be Monocolored Decks - Control Based Decks has a low to High mana Curve, Usually Runs quite a lot of low drops...mostly Spells...and a low Creature count...going from low/mid drops (Currently Delver of Secrets/Snapcaster Mage) or High CMC Finishers like (Consecrated Sphinx)...Curve plays around 24 lands (most likely coz 1) Deck Plays 2 or more colors 2) Curve needs extra lands to get to Higher drops faster) - Combo is Currently kinda Dead but it doesnt run a very High land count...instead it focus mostly in crazy and fast mana fixing....and running a lot of alternative costed/alternative mana generation cards that allows them to go trhough the deck and complete the combo as fast as posible
CDDRodrigo
Usually, you'll want to play 20 creatures/20 artifacts, enchantments, sorceries and instants/20 lands. Mana Base (how and which lands you play) is a very advanced matter and should be paid attention at only after you dominate the intermediate levels of the game. But, those numbers vary a lot from deck to deck, and depending on how your Mana Curve is, you can play either less or more lands. There are decks with only 12 lands, while others with 24/26.
