I understand...but his Swiss-Army-Knife-like-jacket is staying, and he'll have some powers...but none to OP.

 

I pm'd Stalfos, TFF, and Rinne asking for forgiveness, for TFF and Stalfos to come back, and for Rinne to take down that post, and for all of them to read my OOC post that Nexus complimented. Hopefully they'll respond. If they don't, I'll just ask them again. Later.

I'm not returning, and I don't think Stalfos (how hard is it to spell Stalfos?!?) will be, either.

Akatsuki, you singlehandedly ruined this RP for me.

I had a very good reason IC for "V." to keep her identity concealed, that would have been revealed much later in the RP, and you blew it.

Plus, you continued to mock her, humiliate her, and threaten to kill innocent people if she retaliated.

And bringing Shade back would be going against a moderator, which means you would be in even bigger trouble than before.

Plus, you were being incredibly hypocritical, wanting to move the plot along while derailing it with Shade's antics, if they can be called that.

I hope you're happy.

 

P.S. Stop the "AkatsukiPride" puns. They aren't funny, and they make you come off as juvenile.

Look. It's not the end of the world.

So you screwed up. We all do every now and then.

Think of this as a learning experience.

Everything in Shade was a classic textbook example of what NOT to do with a roleplaying character.

Ergo, you now know what not to do next time.

I'm a little pissed, but right now, I have bigger things on my plate IRL.

You seem to be catching on to how people roleplay around here, but I don't think you were ready for the reins of an RP just yet.

I generally only trusts hosts that 1. Have at least 4 stars, and 2. Have proven themselves to be a good roleplayer.

Since this IS a Yu-Gi-Oh! forum at its core, another RP is bound to be around the corner.

In fact, someone is planning an adventure RP involving Duel Monsters as we speak.

If you're into that, I would recommend trying it out.

The main lesson you should learn is that roleplaying is not a normal story, written by 1 person. You cannot grab a player's nose and lead them around, or funnel them through a narrow plot passage, and expect them to follow.

Characters all have their own agendas that may intersect, which creates development and adds to the plot.

In order for an RP to succeed, you have to work as a team to build the story together. Kohakuchan and I worked together to arrange Amber and "V."'s duel, and have them meet. They created an engaging duel that allowed for them to get closer, and, had the RP not derailed, might have allowed them to become friends in the future.

Even Dr. Faker, the antagonist, was going to be using the characters for his own ends, instead of demanding for them to do as he wished.

Someone may HOST an RP, but that doesn't mean they RUN the RP. All they do is provide a prompt and some goal the heroes are working towards and the villains are either working towards as well, or trying to prevent from being reached.

Does any of this rant make sense?

I agree with TFF.. and really disappointed that our side plot won't happen now. *sad face* I was really looking forward to that.

 

Your character's antics were equivalent to young children, making up the rules in their favor once the odds turn against them. When my character stood up to Shade, He punched her in the gut. *without much indication that he had even approached Amber* Zebulos got mad, Shade "broke" him (when he didn't even take any real form). And then there's the constant back and forth smack talk between Shade and Josep. I of course didn't forget the issues that occured with V., but TFF already mentioned it so I'll just leave that be. However, I will at least clarify... V wasn't walking away, she simply walked up to Amber and stood next to her. She never left or tried to leave.

*sniffle* Yeah, that helps. I just got caught up in inventing a cool, powerful, antagonistic character, I threw the rules and other peoples' ideas to the wind. I know now that I can't control an RP, and this is only my second one, so I guess I'm still not that experienced.I hope you guys aren't that mad at me...there are other RP's, this is just one. I'm still can't express how sorry I am. Lets just let this go and let bygones be bygones and move one. This was just one mistake. But thanks, TFF, for that rant. It helped a lot. From now on, I will play by the rules and wont force the spotlight onto myself. You too, Kohaku. I hope we can all just let this be water under the bridge. Maybe one day, we'll all be in the same RP again and I can make it up to you guys. And yeah, Shades a dick of a character and a horrible idea all together. Don't even remember why I wanted to make him...But at least Taio was good. He had a nice run. But I'm sad, cuz' both the RPs I've been in died really fast.

 

I learned something today. Its that I need to take RPing a little bit more serious, and stop trying to bend them to my will. So I am really sorry. I also learned that one does not simply use an RP like a fanfic.

 

And thanks for telling me about that Yugioh RP someone's planning, I think I might just start preparing.

 

All in all, whoops. I guess lesson learned.

 

(PS: I like akatsuki pride puns, and I am juvenile. I'm in my early teens. So there.)

(PSS: I think I just realized that the reason I made Shade is because I may have been trying to recreate my last RP character subconsciously.)

EDIT: I don't think this is ever gonna pick back up, too. I think its dead. So sorry...

Well, a chunk of characters are gone now, including the two primary antagonist people. Of the people remaining, half (or more than) are the Energetic Teenager Brigade, who can't really do much on their own plot wise. The creator of the RP has ditched it. I do like this, but I think from what I've seen that it's pretty darn screwed.

You do realize that we were more than capable of blocking you if you even thought about asking again, right?

Anyway, to be honest, I was already beginning to lose interest in it, and if you hadn't gone so bloody overboard, you wouldn't have put that final nail into the coffin. Still, it's good to see that you've admitted such a colossal f***-up and learnt from it.

 

Now that I think about it, I might actually see if I can get a review thread up and running... starting with this one being the first to be reviewed of course, since this'll be where it would all start. I probably won't know how well it'll turn out, since I've never critiqued anything before, and I'll probably end up only reviewing dead RPs.

 

EDIT: @Neko: A bit late for that, everyone's pretty much accepted its defeat.
