Because I need a Break LMAO. Also been playing Skyrim, Awesome Game. Also giving the Council time to relax too. ^^

Skylie, I noticed in the Nominations that the Awards were rigged. I have put plenty of ways to Stop them being rigged including the inability to change Votes. I plan to stamp out any traces of fixing. Just you wait until the Finals ;)

Edit: "That you mentoned" lol

Dope: Hope I didn't piss anyone off, I just said that b/c usually no one listens to me (To my surprise you did 0.o) and so I felt like being an D**k to the ones who rig things up......

And is Skyrim actually that fun, can you train and fly dragon's? If so, I might get it.

Additions:

The Nominations to Polls
5 Votes for a Member allowed instead of 3.
More strict rules to avoid rigging.
Even more planned for the Polls

Oh and can we leave Vote Begging to a minimum please, kthx ^^

Yes you Were, the others just felt like being D**ks to ya.......And hentai makes you; you, they should have not demoted you for you being yourself; I even remember the picture that was considered hentai and it didn't even show much oh well.....

You may or may not know me, but here my other names:

Xyz, Master White; General White; White Archaic Daemon; and this.

But anyhow, so I can just simply vote again, thats nice, thanks... So, I'll just copy and paste and vote again.....

I was wondering if we should have another award per year along with this.

I just feel that a more professional ceremony is also appropriate just because votes can be biased and I feel like avoiding that. And instead of categories for most things, there should be less awards, but there should be important individual awards based on personality and community.

Just thought I'd post it in here to see what YCM would generally think.

How would you like to develop that?

I'm all for having an Awards ceremony that is as less biased as possible, praising the true abilities/traits of members. But that doesn't seem like an easy thing to manage. Take this Awards for example; if you look closely at the votes, most of them are based only on people the voter knows well/has relations with. Sometimes, it's unfair to other members that deserved the vote. People call this "Rigging", but I see it differently. Biasing is not rigging for me. Rigging is begging for votes so that you pull yourself/people you want ahead.

If we can eliminate or at least drastically reduce both bias and rigging, then it'll be a very good Awards ceremony.

I assume the best way to develop it is to have somewhat a professional council like the one you all have for the YCM Awards.

But the council should be slightly larger and well aware of various personalities on YCM. During x amount of time, the council (via whatever method they prefer, whether it be asking the general community of YCM via PMs or threads, or discussing between themselves, or whatever in between) will develop a list of nominees for each award there. So instead of members having a direct influence on the votes, they have an indirect influence using the council as a filter for nominees.

After that, you can either take an approach of going to a vote for those people somewhat like YCM Member Brawls *but obviously more civilised lolololol*, or they can let the council make an executive decision.

Depends on what the host wants of course, depending on who the host is.

I did my best to keep Rigging to a minimum this time ^^

Want a sneaky peeky for the Rules of the Polls?

1) No Begging for Votes ANYWHERE on the Forum. First offense is 2 Votes deducted, Second is Disqualication. Want to keep this as fair as possible,

2) All Voters must have been on YCM for at least 2 Months. Votes from these members will not be counted.

Just a taster.

Rai, I AM the host from niw on^^

Sounds like a very good plan.

YCM Awards, as it is now, is based on a, honestly, blank system that is too prone for bias. If it is guided by a council with a good knowledge of members (preferably individually), common sense and understandment, I can see it being of much more quality than how the other Awards have been. Nominations from a group of "arbitrers" sounds far, far fairer.

And, modesty aside, I should be one of the hosts if this system is applied. Why? Because I've been lurking around YCM for a long time, everywhere, and I know how most of the members are individually, I know how each section works, I know who can be more friendly, more agressive, more recluse, etc.

Just my two cents. All I want is progress on this ceremony.

Since J-Max is host of this, I'd probably ask at this point if we should have a separate awards ceremony.

Similar how the Grammys and BRITS both exist simultaneously. This can carry on and offer a community perspective, while this new one can offer an executive view for exceptional achievements.

Both can contribute to each other, as the YCM Awards would obviously give a better view for this other event's council, while the other awards would show the general community about some figures and encourage activity.

And, of course, various figures should be able to host the awards, like Rodrigo. Just generally, key figures of the community should be chosen. Co-hosts are extra ones blah blah.

I like the idea and gives YCM an extra event to make up for all the lack of any official events from the mods.

I'd really love to have both awards simultaneously. It's so much more joyful.

I didn't mean that, J-Max.

I meant the SYSTEM of the Awards is not the optimal. Not that you're doing a bad job. It wasn't completely your choice for the Awards to be completely open for public; it has been like this since ever. You're a great host and I wish you continue, but progress is always good, and trying it is even better, don't you think? ^^
