Astolfo
I propose some Damage Control guys to be chosen, for ban-hammering obvious trolls, alternate accounts, etcetera. Basically just a rule-keeper mod. In any case, I suggest it's people with good reputation (not reps, but actual favorability) who's online often, so they can keep a steady watch for obvious trolling, etc. Maybe a few from each time zone, so a few are on usually at any given time.
Legend Zero
I feel we handled it swiftly. =[ I don't see how a few seconds earlier would've helped.
evilfusion
Thing is, we're not actually short-staffed. And I'm on nearly all the time anyway. This type of incident is exceptionally rare. Having extra Damage Control people for trolls and stuff is unnecessary. Remember, you can't assume everyone who acts slightly stupid, stubborn, or ignorant and has a new account is a troll or an alt account. They could be genuine newbies. And if bans were handed out that freely, no member will last long, which is entirely counterproductive. For the nygas guy, I WAS watching him, because I suspected he was an alt/troll. But I can't just ban someone on a gut instinct, they actually have to do something wrong. He ironically started doing the extreme stuff once I was already prepared to ban him. For the most part, even the worst examples happen when we still have the resources (in terms of mod/D-Control) available to deal with them. We're not being overwhelmed by a few alts and/or spambots. CrabHelmet
But if we can currently ban a troll in six seconds, then with twice as many mods we could ban the troll in three seconds, which would make YCM twice as good, right? Wait, I forgot, I don't actually know how logic works.
