John A. Zoidberg
I've been going to some house shows lately for local bands, and I have to say, there are a lot of awesome local bands in my area. There's one notable punk band (whose name I won't say out of risk of somebody knowing them also or something) that has really peaked my interest. So discuss the local bands of your area. You don't have to say what area that is or anything, or even the band's name, but just tell whether or not there are any good ones around you. Try to at least say the genre, though. Poc
Despite Detroit being across the river and all the venues burning down, Windsor Ontario has a bumping music scene. This guy films alot of the local bands and puts them on his youtube, check it out http://www.youtube.com/user/Brew420distro My favorite band from the local scene... Poc
So get this, my band was planning a birthday show for our guitarist and we wanted to get Baptized in Blood to headline (a band from my area thats signed to roadrunner). We contacted a local booking agent and asked if he could hook us up with them. He said no problem. One week later we find out were not on the bill for our own show. Instead we have to win our timeslot in a battle of the bands. We send him an angry message saying he basically stole our show idea. He replies saying if we play his battle of the bands he will rig it so we win. We told him to go f*** himself. Moral of the story: If a 16 year old kid is running a promotion company don't do buisness with him.

Shrekstasy
There is a large amount of indie alternative rock groups. The band that is currently going places is a rock group, Delightful Downfall. Pretty good stuff. I'm on good terms with the bassist and drummer. I've yet to see them live, because I'm too busy. haha. .Corgi
There's like 3 bands nearby... Never heard them, but I've seen their logos so I'm pretty sure it's crappy metalcore that sounds the same as all other metalcore.
