Dumplings

I prefer Chicken AND Dumplings, the old southern dish, to the Oriental ones.

I'd rather you didn't use a misleading title. Some of us might take it to offence.

Seriously? You're offended by this? Toughen up ._.

Which is more likely: Someone is making a thread on YCM about the terminal disease they've contracted, or someone is making a thread on YCM with a misleading topic title?

Use your head, it's really not that hard.

Point taken.

I didn't expect it to be about someone dying, but I have battled with cancer for a long time. So obviously I take it to offence. The only reason I openly talk about it is to help raise awareness.

So, investigate the facts before you leap.

We can't investigate you. You're a random user online. with no links to your real life outside this forum.

Honestly, don't derail the topic and don't complain about stuff that we don't know. You can't expect Crouton to read every single profile to check for someone who has cancer, if it's on there. How was he supposed to know?

Get over it. That may sound harsh, but it's just as harsh as you were, for assuming everyone knows you have cancer.

OT: I love dumplings, and really want some of my grandma's homemade chicken n' dumplins Dx

Sound unreasonable to you?

New forum rule: Nobody may reference death, it might make people sad because death is a thing that exists in real life and we're only allowed to reference things that don't exist. From now on, instead of saying "died", say "was sent to the Graveyard". Wait, graveyards exist in real life too; better make that "was banished".

Talk about hypocrisy. My gender is in my profile, which makes it something it's actually possible to check before posting.

Right.
It wasn't the reference to death that bothered me. It was the misleading title that I took to offence. I have already seen one serious topic about suicide so was it Is that far-fetched for me to think this may be another? I retract what I previously said about not expecting this thread to be about someone dying, as I originally did.

No, Crab. I didn't look into your profile.

1. I'm not used to this forum's layout.
2. I meant for things that are significant to the topic. Your gender is not.

Eh, first of all, this topic should probably be locked, but regardless of who is lurking around, cancer is probably a topic that you shouldn't just go around laughing about.

If I made a thread making light of bullying you'd all try have me banned in an instant.

OT: Dumplings are delicious. :D

Maybe we should all post a status or two before we make a thread on anything. 'Would anyone be offended if I posted a topic about...'
Like I said, a lot of people here would piss themselves if someone posted a topic that they were offended by. (ie: Bullying)

Oh, I feel lost... xD

I get the gist of what's going on though, so since the topic was changed to actual dumplings, I do like them, haven't had them in a while though.

I don't get it...

OT: I like most kinds of Chinese dumplings, mostly vegetable and seafood-based ones.
It's a good entry.

The original title was "I'm dying..." which led into the first sentence of the OP which said "...for some dumplings," the topic (the thing people say like "I'm dying for [insert thing]") then the rest. Someone didn't like it so I changed it myself and moved on. Now, people are going on about cancer or something.

Oh I understand now...

it's your fault for not putting this in games section! It would have been obvious then

Because if you're dying, you obviously have cancer :S

Everyone dies, so I can't think of a reasonable reason to directly link death with cancer and get horrendously offended by it.

Anyway, dumplings are like the best things I have ever tasted in my life. Thank goodness I can cook. And that I know how to make Chinese-style dumplings.

Pork and carrot is strange usually in any western food, but in dumplings, it's heaven. Also, scallops are cool in them. And MY GOD FRIED DUMPLINGS ARE SO AMAZING. AMAZING <3

Although, I wonder if anyone's had British/Irish dumplings before. I personally haven't, because I live in London which is far too modernised for what is basically pub food.

Also, I'd complain about how people say gyoza dumplings since China did come up with the idea, while people use the Japanese name for it and was only introduced in modern culture. Should really be called jiaozi dumplings.
