We need Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire Remakes! It's been 10 freaking years, Gamefreak!

Pokemon RSE was the worst generation by far. I'd be happy to just forget they even existed.

As for 'needing' RSE remakes, I wouldn't quite say that. The problem between the jump from RBY and GSC to RSE was that it made certain Pokemon inaccessible. Remakes of RBY and GSC remedied that problem, so now all Pokemon are obtainable, granted you'd need about 6 or so other games and 2 DS-es to do so.

If they do remake it, hopefully they'll fix all the terrible flaws that plagued RSE, from Pokemon availablity (there were 6 new Fire types available. 3 of them were the starter. One of them was Torkoal. Two of them were Numel and Camerupt. There were 28 new water Pokemon.) to the map (If I recall correctly, there was a place that needed 3 HM moves to finish. Surf, Dive, and Strength. And if you wanted to leave quickly you'd need Fly too).

My biggest concern with RSE was there was too much water for the second half of the game, and then only one more gym. Also too many wasted cities. (Since they just had a Contest and contributed nothing to the plot or the endgame of gathering all 8 badges.)

Apparently we'll be getting an important announcement next week, although it's more likely to be Gray.

Yea, it is pokemon grey, However I'm putting money on the remake coming out for the 10th anniversary of the 3rd gen.

YES YES YES YES

I really do hope the R/S remakes come out before gray, I've always disliked the third games in each generation, there's no point in getting them if you already have one of the first two in the generation. The third generation has always been my favorite, I just love the pokemon, love the region, love the villanous teams, love everything! When I finally get my copy of WhateverRuby, boot it up and hear the remixed littleroot town music I'll just be so so happy...

So yeah, I'm VERY excited for the remakes.

Funny, because the 3rd game is normally better then the first 2.

On the other hand, I loved RSE because of being different to the other games in having more water than land, and adding to that, there obviously were just a few fire pokemon added in contrast to the amount of water pokemon added, it's like expecting a
Snow region to be full of Fire types.

If they decide to make the R/S remakes take place chronologically after R/S/E, then there could be a number of things that happen (kind of like how G/S/C took place 3 years after R/B/Y):

Mount Chimney could erupt and take out Lavaridge Town.
Wally would be older and more/less sickly.
Maybe a Tsunami over the eastern half of Hoenn?
Brenden/May (the one you didn't choose) could actually be the Champion.
Wally takes on the role of the main rival?

I dunno, just throwing some ideas out there.

1st Gen: After 2nd gym I meant breeding, in this one you can't
2nd Gen: After 2nd gym I don't remember this one, as I started playing in RSE, maybe that's why I like RSE so much.
3rd Gen: After 2nd gym Yes
4th Gen: After 2nd/3rd gym I don't know either
5th Gen: After 1st gym You must get your 3rd badge first.

Yea...

I played every single game, and the earliest one to me always seemed to be RSE, taking out RBY.

Well, RBY didn't have breeding so you can't really hold it against them. And all the other games it happens around the same time so that argument is really mute.

You get one for breeding in Kanto after the Elite Four.

But really, nobody breeds until post-game.

Also this. You normally do your breeding post game since you normally breed for actual good pokemon while doing so in game is just a waste of time.

RSE is after the 3rd Gym in Mauville unless you can get onto the route to Verdenturf (or however it's spelt) before taking on Wattson (3rd Gym). - Haven't gotten to Mauville yet.

GSC is after the 2nd gym, between Illex Forest and Goldrenrod City.

DP is after the 2nd gym since it's on the route to Veilstone, but in Platinium it's after the 3rd gym since you can if I remember right take on Fantina whilst on the first visit to Heathrome.
