BlueBladeDuality
There's a ton of hints supporting remakes in HG/SS/B/W. I've found speculations scattered throughout the internet, too. Hints include: HG/SS: Groudon in Soulsilver Kyogre in Heartgold Rayquaza in both The Hoenn Legendary theme is remixed Latias in Heartgold Latios in Soulsilver Bill mentions Lanette and the Hoenn region The Root Fossil and the Claw Fossil are found in the Pewter Museum of Science Steven Stone appearing in both (after you obtain Copycat's Clefairy doll in Vermilion City) Steven offers a Hoenn starter to the player in Saffron City (in Silph Co.) Enigma Stone event - after Latios/Latias is caught, Steven says "Impressive! It was a great battle! I don't think you had to give everything you've got, and that scares me...I've been away from the Hoenn Pokemon League for too long. I'll have to excuse myself. ......... .................. Oh, I never got your name. ...But I won't ask for it this time. Our fun will have to wait for the right time." He walks away after that. Here is the link to the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aaLzws-CmlA B/W: Dive returns as HM06 (the same HM number as in R/S/E) There is a desert route in Unova, just as there was one in Hoenn In R/S/E, there was a researcher at Devon who said they were developing a machine to see the dreams of pokemon (Dream World). The 6th Gym Leader in both Hoenn and Unova is a Flying-type user, and their designs are very similar. The rivals in R/S/E and B/W are your friends, as opposed to R/B/Y and G/S/C where the rivals are your enemies. There are rapid currents in Unova, just like Hoenn. The common birds of Hoenn and Unova are not on the first route, but rather, slightly later on. There is a family in Unova called the Riches, who challenge you to consecutive battles just like the Winstrates in Hoenn. Some tracks in B/W sound like remixes of R/S/E themes. Super Smash Bros Brawl: The wild pokemon battle theme (Ruby/Sapphire) doesn't sound like the original. It sounds like a remix. Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8v2Y2NqLpU Feel free to add anything that I didn't think of. Phantom Roxas
Not to mention that one of the founders of Game Freak outright stated that he would love remakes of this game. I'd say that we should wait until E3. If they're going to release the remakes this year, then it would be announced either at E3 or before then, but it might be a while because they'll likely be on the 3DS, and who's to say that won't put Gray on the 3DS first? Yes, I know FireRed and LeafGreen were released before Emerald, but they had already put Ruby and Sapphire on the GBA. Even if Pokémon doesn't change as much as people would like it to, I would think they would want to move the main series on to the 3DS through Gray. What if all the R/S tributes in HGSS were due to them trying to move past the GBA? Even if that wasn't the intention, what about people who never got the Hoenn games? That said, I would definitely love these games to be remade. I didn't pick up the main games until Diamond, so I'd like to get the Sapphire remake. Cin
Pokebeach reckon they might be around after Pokemon Gray (which they suspect will come out because of the hints on Kyurem in both Coro and the code found in Pokemon B/W suggests an alternate form). It makes sense we'll get these remakes eventually I can't wait because I really enjoyed it, even if water types were a little thin on the ground if I remember right. BlueBladeDuality
With all those hints (especially the enigma stone event), and a lot of people who want them, Game Freak would be making a mistake if they didn't remake the best generation into the best pokemon games of all time. Long live Hoenn!
burnpsy
I'm calling November 2012 in Japan, March 2013 for the worldwide release. That fits their pattern.

However it was still a great game. It was simply the fact that the 4th gen brought A LOT of things into the game. Plus, going back to the 3rd gen might draw some of the lost people back in. Astro Dude
Yeah. Maybe they'll come up with better Official Art. Oh and the Ruby and Sapphire Remakes would be cool, as long as they have the Battle Fronteir and it's on the big screen like Wii U.

.Rai
1st gen was interestingly new. 2nd gen was revolutionary. 3rd gen was the start of 'modern' Pokémon. 4th gen was good, but gimmicky. 5th gen was basically a refined, professional 4th gen. I think that's a pretty common view. And it's by far one of the most speculated events that may happen from Game Freak. The possibility is huge, and I'll be extremely happy if that possibility does come.
Agro
The funny thing about having a remake for it is that unlike Gold and Silver, you don't really feel like it's been long enough to have a remake. I know it's been 10 years, but still.

Still, it doesn't feel like it has been that long.
Phantom Roxas
I'm set on Blaziken and Flygon for my team. Not sure about the rest of it. For the idea that R/S remakes could bring back old fans, I highly doubt that would work. If they stopped playing the games, why would remaking these games work? If anything, that would only give people more reasons to stay away from the franchise.

Flygon was my favorite Gen 3 pokemon and is still one of my faves, and Blaziken was my favorite starter, slowly being overcome by Swampert due to its relevance in later gens. Hm... I'll get a Mightyena and a Linoone early, but I'll definitely need to rethink my teams. Right now, it's gotta be: Fire: Blaziken Water: Sharpedo or Walrein Grass: Tropius Electric: Manectric Rock/Ground/Flying/Dragon: Flygon Psychic/Dark/Ghost/Fighting/Poison: Gardevoir (or, hopefully, Gallade), Metagross or Absol could work too
