Increase the defense of all monsters you control by 500. Once per turn, you can special summon 1 level 4 or lower non-tuner monster from your hand or deck. The monster summoned by this effect cannot attack this turn. You cannot Special Summon other monsters the turn you activate this effect.

Excuse me, but I must ask whether you have completed kindergarten.
So he might not be as proficient with the language as you are, that's no excuse to give him snide comments instead of providing any useful feedback. It might not be his primary language for all you know. If you have nothing constructive to say, don't say anything next time.

The cards themselves are far from being overpowered, but It seems like you're just making general support. As far as the continuous spells go, I see no reason to use either since treating damage as effect or battle based really makes little difference in most cases and being able to SS for free isn't always the most balanced way to design a card. If you want to go for general support, think in terms of splashable cards that can be used with or against existing cards.

This would be helpful if piercers were even prevalent. The attribute thing may be helpful for other such things, but atm, it's really not helpful.

The only card this comes close to affecting is Gorz or Tragoedia. Neither of which are affected enough by this card for it to be played.
Special Summon from where? If it's the hand, then no one will play this. If it's the Deck, then everyone would play this (and it would be broken). And why 500 DEF? ATK is better. Just saying.

yes. my aim in general is general support, which seems to have faded away in certain aspects.
in my opinion, splashable cards that can be used with or against existing cards sort of makes it become tied down to a certain archetype. that's why i wanted to sound "vague", yet still be balanced.

i don't like piercing damage in general and it would good for tuners to have more variety in their effects.
For Trade switcher, i was thinking of other stuff, like protecting gellenduo from being destroyed by it's own effect or other cards that may be vulnerable to one type of damage or the other...but i think i'll add something.
i was thinking of using it for the hand...or i could add in the deck suggestion as well, with certain restrictions to not make it broken...
i think increasing defense will off-set most other card effects that just boost attack by a ridiculous amount.
