It means that they play directly by the rules, not letting you take back a minor misplay and we got a gameloss because Brandon used Acid Golem when the war started 1 day before Acid Golem became TCG legal.

Better way to put it: They took advantage of the rules to gain advantage in the war when most sensible players would have not done that.

Rule sharking is playing so strictly by the rules that the opponent will probably lose on the basis of making "illegal" plays, if not just exceptionally dumb legal ones, because you WILL point out that the move they did can't be performed, or claim tha any misinformation (ruling errors, etc) that lead to legal (but stupid) plays is the opponent's fault and they must be appropriately penalized for it.

For example, on DN, there is no way to display the current ATK value of a monster. If you attack a monster whose ATK is higher, because either you miscalculated, or the state of the game changed subtly so it wasn't clear the ATK changed, they'll insist you rammed your monster into theirs and must take damage and/or destroy your monster, because it's not their fault you didnt know the ATK was higher.

Normal people would probably just say you can cancel the attack when you explain the misunderstanding. Rule-sharks will try to win because of your misunderstanding. The only person I ever used A.S.S. on had tried to ruleshark me into attacking his 3000 Barbaros with my 2800 Scrap Dragon because I had thought it was at 1900 (and had just last turn calculated damage appropriate to it having a value of 1900, which went unnoticed). When I looked up the ruling to confirm the ATK was indeed at 3000, he refused to let me take the attack back, despite my explanation. To add insult to injury, I got a day ban for abusing the ASS.

Sadly, I see it often with a player who used Monster Reborn and tried to revive an illegal target (Synchro that had its Summon negated, etc) and when I as an Admin explain why you can't revive a negated Summon, half the time, the player (I've ruled in favor of him) will insist the opponent still used Monster Reborn, and must revive something legal (rather than take Reborn back to the hand or something).

Basically it's people being dicks to get wins, except bigger dicks then usual.

I absolutely HATE when I see someone doing that, so I always offer my opponent the courtesy of the benefit of the doubt. If they don't abuse it, great :'D, if they do, I stop.

I sometimes go a step further. One time my opponent Normal Summoned Rabbit and wanted to use its effect, then realized he was out of targets. I offered him the chance to Normal Summon something else (he just accepted it as a misplay). But in many cases, I just dont see the fun in forcing a player to do a less-than-stellar move, especially if it's minor and/or they ask to take it back.

Winning is just the perk of the game. Some games are so epic that winning and losing cease to be relevent and even defeat will leave me with that warm sense of satisfaction of having a great duel against a tough opponent. Winning gives the warm of feeling of emerging triumphant in a great duel against a tough opponent.

Sadly, some people care about winning so much that their opponent can be miserable and they wont care.

Well, I would give him the chance to do that too. I know I make plenty of stupid moves, and since I do enjoy it when people let me take them back, I try to do the same for them.

Winning is a nice perk, but... I don't care if I win if it wasn't enjoyable. It's the big reason I can't use something like Exodia or Final Countdown. x_x

Yeah, and it's really disappointing honestly...

If he was online, yes. He has to hurry before I get bored and play Minecraft...

I main Faders, which don't waste Main Deck space and they allow me to go for Formula. This deck also spams level 5 Synchros easily. On top of everything, I had dead Extra space with stuff that was never used and never would be used.

The last two reasons apply to Dual Slasher, and it's also a Rekindling target. It doesn't get used that often but I doubt anything else put there would either. =/
