Agro
Aggro wants to feature every game. Or that's what I got from him not wanting to post our game before this one was played.
No no. I was just going to feature a few. Everyone can start. Oh and here's the feature match.
Thunder End Dragon vs Mugendramon (GoldenMagicMonkey) So here we are with the first match of the first round. Luckily for us, it’s also a match for the ages, as TED with his Stellar deck goes head to head with GMM’s Verz Rabbit. Surely we’ll finally find out which of these competing armies is the strongest! TED won Rock, Paper, Scissors and elected to go first. To begin he Normal Summoned Stellar Gredi, using its effect to Special Summon Stellar Kaust. Like what has become common in Stellars, he then proceeded to use Kaust’s effect to bump both of his monsters to Level 5. Before Xyz Summoning, he smartly played Stellar Belt and Stellar Starsign so that his monster would be protected and he would be able to draw upon its summoning. So without further ado, he Xyz Summoned Stellar Pleiades, drew from Starsign, set a card, and passed. GMM took his turn much faster, simply using Golden Sarcophagus to banish his Rescue Rabbit from the deck, setting 3 cards in the Spell/Trap zone and ended his turn, one of which, an Infest Pandemic Infection, he’d lose to TED’s Mystical Space Typhoon. It’s TED’s turn now and he uses Pleiades effect to return a second of GMM’s 3 Spells or Traps to his hand. He then proceeds to Normal Summon Stellar Sheratan and uses its effect to add another Stellar Kaust. He finishes by attacking directly with both Pleiades and Sheratan for 3200. GMM LP: 4800 GMM starts his turn by Special Summoning Verz Mandrago, and then to its summoning, he activates Infestation Collapse. A ruling error occurred in this instance, though not one that affected the game to badly. TED chained Pleiades effect to hit Verz Mandrago. Normally this effect would cancel out Infestation Collapse because Mandrago could not be banished, but because of the error, it did and Pleiades and Sheratan were returned to TED’s hand whilst Mandrago was returned to GMM’s. GMM would play simply from here, Normal Summoning Verz Heliotrope and attacking directly for 1950, setting 2 Spell/Traps and ending his turn. TED LP: 6050 TED starts his turn off quickly by Special Summoning Stellar Schet. He’d follow up by Normal Summoning Stellar Pollux, using its effect to Normal Summon Stellar Kaust. He was cut short, however, when GMM activated his set Torrential Tribute, wiping the field clean of all TED’s moves. With nothing left to do, TED activates Pot of Avarice, returning Gredi, two Kaust, Pollux, and Schet, then drawing two and passing. Gold Sarcophagus’s effect finally resolves come GMM’s turn, and he adds Rescue Rabbit. Without much thought left, he Normal Summons it and activates its effect, Special Summoning two Verz Heliotrope from his deck. Without anything defending TED, he attacks directly with both for 3900 then overlays them both for Verz Ophion! He would then wrap up his turn by detaching one of Ophion’s materials to add Infestation Collapse to his hand and setting it. TED LP: 2150 TED starts his turn in desperate need of a few plays. He starts out by Special Summoning Stellar Schet and Normal Summoning Stellar Sheratan to search Stellar Kaust. He activated a Stellar Starsign in the hopes of drawing more, but GMM would stop it there, activating his set Infestation Collapse, this time with no errors, banishing his Ophion to remove any hope of a TED comeback. At the End Phase of the turn, GMM would bring out Verz Heliotrope from his grave with Call of the Haunted, and a Normal Summoning of Mandrago later, TED surrendered. So Verz surprisingly win game one over their archenemesis, the Stellars. What surprises await in Round 2? We can only guess. We STILL don’t even know what Numbers these two hold. After going through their side decks, TED starts off game two with a whimper, not pleased with his starting hand. He would merely set one Spell/Trap before allowing play to move to GMM. Monkey goes on the offensive, using Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy the set Trap. He would follow with Tour Guide from the Underworld, only to be chained to by Maxx “C”. Not wanting to give any unneeded reinforcements from TED’s deck, he Special Summoned his Sangan in defense and attacked with Tour Guide. TED LP: 7000 So play would pass with only one card drawn from Maxx “C”. GMM set two cards and ended his turn. TED seemed to find what he needed from the draw, and activated Dark Hole, ignoring the fact that Sangan would search, as it did for Rescue Rabbit. TED then Normal Summons Stellar Pollux and tries to use its effect, but is thwarted by GMM as he activates a card he’d sided in, Light-Imprisoning Mirror. TED would simply attack directly for 1700 and end. GMM LP: 6300 GMM, without worrying about that Maxx “C” anymore, Normal Summons the Rescue Rabbit he searched and activates its effect. But hold your horses, as TED surprises him by activating yet ANOTHER Maxx “C”. GMM would summon 2 Sabersaurus as TED drew one and proceeds to attack over Stellar Pollux, inflicting a total of 2100 damage. Giving up the plus from Maxx “C”, GMM then overlaid his two Dinos for Evolsaur Laggia. He would set one Spell/Trap before finally ending. TED LP: 5900 TED did not have much left to say, so he simply set two cards and ended his turn. GMM seemed ready to make his final move, so he starts with Allure of Darkness, drawing two cards and banishing his Verz Mandrago. This move was responded to by TED with an Effect Veiler on Laggia. But it wouldn’t do much good, as GMM Normal Summoned a second Tour Guide from the Underworld, Special Summoning his third, and overlaying for Leviair the Sea Dragon. With its effect, he grabs Rescue Rabbit and then uses its effect to Special Summon 2 Verz Heliotrope from the deck. With his two monsters in place, his exuberance is obvious. Raising his voice in the chat bar, he starts, “Aww yeah. I build the Overlay Network. I Xyz Summon Number 50: Black Corn!” Alas, we see one of our duelists Numbers. Number 50: Black Corn, and with only a Fiendish Chain to protect himself, one that was denied of use with GMM’s Solemn Judgment, TED was through. So GMM wins the first duel of Round 1 and will move on, winning for himself TED’s Number monster: Number 20: Giga-Brilliant.
