Just Crouton
I saw this video on yt the other day where the person talked about the Megaman franchise being dead with it's lack of any major console games in years. Let's face it. Going back to the NES graphics and pre-Megaman 3 gameplay didn't save the franchise or make much of an impact in gaming. Megaman 9 is forgotten and it's vintage Capcom cash-in-I mean, Megaman 10 might as well never existed. So, I propose a new game...sorta. Not a new Megaman series. Hell no. Capcom should work with what they have. That is, 4 unfinished series in the original, X, ZX, and Legends. Sure, they can make Legends 3, and it'll plenty of money so they make a cash-in Legends 4, and an even cheaper Legends 5, and a Legends 6 behind the head creator's back which is 10x better than 5, but it's time for a fresh idea. I propose that Capcom instead works on a new ZX game. ZX has a unique system called the Model System. It allows the player to assume different forms, changing gameplay in interesting ways. It's like the Armor System from X, but a lot more convienient since you can switch armors in-level. In ZX Advent, it's reinvents the Special Weapons System by allowing the player to assume the forms of defeated bosses rather then just use one of their weapons. The gameplay is like the X series, making it more accessible to players. But, instead of that old, outdated stage select screen, you get a vast world, with people to talk to, mini-games, and side-quests similar to a RPG. Anyway, there could be a secret war involving various Megamen competing for the Models while a major war is happening, or maybe a Maverick terrorist organization is being the generic big villain. Like in Megaman Zero, you don't know what Robot Master you'll face next, adding a bit of surprise when you piss through a level to get mauled by a Rainy Turtiloid. When you beat the Robot Master, you take their likeness like a Advent. The evil Megamen appear at major story points and are hard as hell, but also drop Models. They can be based on bosses from the Gameboy titles, including Enker, Quint, Punk, Ballade, and Sunstar as the leader. ZX would be around. The default Megaman (a new Model) would have a look more like Casshern, having the faceplate and visors, and has his own Rush. Megaman can also dismember robots and use their weapons like in Megaman Zero and can even sell them for power-up parts like Buster Plus, Jumper, Hyper Dash. The Model are all customizable, and like in Legends, the buster can be replaced with bigger guns. There could be close-range attacks where you stun an enemy with the buster, hit the attack button, and Megaman grabs the robot and blows it head off with the buster similar to in Resident Evil 4 where Leon can roundhouse kick zombies. In addition to the standard models, there are also unlockables. One could a model that turns Megaman into the original Megaman with NES graphics and gameplay. Rush would assume the form of the original Rush in that case and use the original adaptors. The bosses are more like Metal Gear Solid bosses with multiple phases depending on remaining health. There would also be in-jokes similar to the Metal Gear series. Not all levels would be jump and shoot. Some are stealth levels where you crawl around and sneak through heavily-armed fortresses. There's a motorcycle level, and a ride armor arena level where you trash Ride armors and/or kill the pilots and steal theirs. A level that takes place in First-person where you use a Sniper Buster to pick off robots than fight the boss as normal. There would a multiplayer mode, whether playing through levels together or deathmatch. That's all I have so far. What do you think?
Agro
In all seriousness, they should come out with a new megaman-based IP.
