When this card battles, detatch an Xyz Material from this card. Destroy the monster this card battles with before damage calculation, and inflict damage to your opponent equal to half of the ATK of the destroyed monster. During the End-Phase of a turn in which this card has no Xyz Materials, destroy it and the original owner of this card takes damage equal to its ATK.[/center]

[*]The Tyrfing was said to be able to cleave through anything. This is represented in its effect which makes it destroy monsters it battles with via effect.
[*]One of the legends of Tyrfing's curse, is that a man will die when ever it is drawn. This is represented by the effect of destroying a monster on the field when it is Xyz Summoned.
[*]Another Legend of Tyrfing is that the person wielding it will one day die by it. This is represented as how when it has no Xyz Materials, the controller of it will take damage equal to its ATK.
