[spoiler= Application]

OPERATOR: SELENE SAINTSMAN

Name: Selene Saintsman (Legal/Biological name), Arthur Huntsman, Amadeus Haedemer (Assumed names), Arturia (Nickname)

Gender: Female, though masquerades as a male frequently.

Age: 19

Occupation: Second-year law student, amateur (unlicensed) sleuth

Appearance: Selene appears rather young for her age, which becomes especially apparent when she's attempting to appear as the opposite gender. She short, with a very slight and mousy frame that refuses to build much muscle no matter how much effort and protein is put into it.

Her facial features are small and rather delicate, with short cheekbones and a round face. Her cheeks aren't quite gaunt, but they tend appear on the side of concave. Her eyes, while appearing larger due to the absence of strong brow ridges, are sunken in slightly, giving her the appearance of always appearing slightly hungry- an expression that simply puts people off guard, especially when combined with perpetually serious mood. As such, to offset that, Selene typically wears a bit of makeup even when appearing as a boy, simply to soften her features somewhat.

Selene has short brown hair cut in a standard style, with a few longer bangs left to dangle in front of her face. As a male, she generally wears a hat to cover most of it- either a brown fedora adorned with a white feather as 'Arthur', or a modern top hat as 'Amadeus'. Both hats being fairly ostentatious, they help in drawing attention away from her feminine features, especially if she wears them with a slight downward tilt to obscure her eyes a bit.

Her general garb as 'Arthur' includes a brown coat or vest over an indigo dress shirt with vertical pinstripes and plain beige pants- for particularly messy conditions or situations where it calls for it, she also owns a brown trench coat with broad neck rims. For this guise, she usually wears a pair of contacts to change her eyecolor to muddy brown color.

When appearing as Amadeus, she generally dons a slightly bluish-black suit with an indigo tie; the suit is cut slightly too large in order to hide her feminine curves; her contacts in this case assign her a darker green eyecolor.

Selene doesn't usually go outside as herself, though her dress is surprisingly lackluster when or if she does so- bright blue clothing, usually an untucked dress shirt and a pair of jeans; most noticeable are her eyes, which unlike her dark contact lenses, are a bright sky-blue color that instantly draws attention to her face.

Personality: A consummate liar, Selene is both enthusiastic and driven, but tends to gravitate away from relationships in order to avoid giving too much away about herself. She is a self-sufficient individual, and pursues her goals diligently- no matter what they may be. Deep in her heart, Selene is an adventurer, always looking towards the next lofty goal and envisioning herself as the big hero. Her passion for detective work and secret identities stems from a secret desire to be like Sherlock Holmes- cool, clever, and a master at what he does.

In action, however, Selene is highly logical. Being an impulsive liar herself, she is heavily skeptical of things out of the ordinary- Occam's Razor says the simplest answer is usually the correct one, after all, and she tends to subscribe to that theory. Though she naturally gravitates towards the most interesting or unusual mysteries, the truth of the matter is that they are almost always disappointingly straight forward. While she might chastise romantics for being detached from the world, secretly Selene longs for a problem where the romantic answer is the right one- and the mystery is interesting, rather than simply stubborn. Her guiltiest pleasure is her interest in the occult- probably the least logical, most romantic system around, where belief ultimately trumps logic. Though she rationalizes it as stupid, a part of her can't help but wish it were true, hope it were- just so the world was slightly more interesting.

When interacting with others, Selene is serious and logical, rarely taking any steps to appear more human to others. She feels no real connection to others, and freely lies as a way of setting up distance in between them- indeed, one could argue that her favoring disguises is simply another way she uses to put up barriers between people. When caught outside of a disguise, she is a bit more outspoken and liable to give her opinion, though information from her mouth is still questionable- she tends to lie even when there's no real reason for it.

In essence, Selene is a contradiction- she searches out the truth, but gives only lies- forgoes fiction, but is obsessed with it. Though she has come to accept the world for what it is, she can't help but constantly lie to it, make a fiction out of it- just to make it a bit more interesting.

History:

  • Born to Pierre and Olivia Saintman, both well-known lawyers in the region; her father in the private sector, and her mother as an employee of the government. Grew up in an upper-class neighborhood and given exceptional education starting from a rather young age.
  • Showed signs of kleptomania and pseudologia fantastica at an early age, before she had even graduated grade school. While the former slowly faded into an unpleasant habit after therapy, the later continued far into her later years.
  • Took to dressing as a boy in highschool and taking on the persona of 'Arthur Huntsman', managing to fool both her teachers and fellow students for two years before the truth was discovered. Attained the nickname 'Arturia' from friends who had gotten used to her being 'Arthur'.
  • Set up an amateur detective agency while in high school, at first with fellow students as clients. As her reputation increased, she bought a Navi to help organize information and help her while on jobs; a combination of some learned coding skill and contacts of her parents allowed her to customize it extensively into Arcanum.
  • Attended a prestigious university for Law, living on-campus. Once again, she assumed her identity as 'Arthur Huntsman', this time without being revealed. She set up her agency again as a service to her fellow students.

Motivations: Selene considers any mystery to be worth solving, especially if it has money attached to it. She's more interested in discovering Mirage's motives, however, than she is in simply finding and busting her.

Trivia: "Amadeus Haedemer" is a spare identity she uses for infiltration purposes during a job.

Selene also considers herself a bit of a novelist, and uses Amadeus as her penname. She is an infamous sock-puppeter across various internet forums, and rarely stays in a single identity for long while online.

Theme: Masafumi Takada – “Class Trial - Solar Edition

NAVI: ARCANUM.EXE

Name: Arcanum.Exe / Fool.Exe (Assumed name)

Gender: Female

Appearance: Much like her operator, Arcanum has a false identity that she is capable of shifting into at a whim- "Fool.Exe", who dons silver-white armor over pure white clothing and has a faceless mask covering her face. Fool's Icon is a black '0' against a white background, surrounded by twenty-two black triangles that outline the circle. Fool has shortish white hair that hangs straight behind her mask, and a rapier without a scabbard tied to her waist; a long white cape covers up any back details from her reverse, the back of the cape repeating her icon image.

Arcanum's true form has the same dimensions as her Fool form, but wears cloth rather than any sort of armor. She gains a second layer of clothing, a tabard colored bright purple and sewed with roman numerals across it- starting with a '0' at the base of her long, jester-like purple hat, and ending with a 'XXI' across her back. She has very large sleeves, and her second layer of clothing shifts as it if it is a robe at times, especially when she isn't moving and it can settle against her. Her true icon is a violet circle with an indigo border and two cards- one black, one white- in the center are at opposite diagonals, crossing. An infinity symbol lies in the direct center, half of it colored white (against the black card behind it), and the other half black (against the white card).

Instead of a sword, Arcanum carries a deck of twenty-two blank cards that orbit around her in a ring; these can form into both a sword and a blaster for her. Whenever she activates one of her attacks, a single card flicks in front of her and has the appropriate number appear.

Arcanum has a very human face, modeled perhaps after a more feminine version of its owner. Her eyes are rose-red and very striking, while her hair is long (down to at least her waist, though most of it is covered by her second layer of clothing) and colored a bright purple-red.

Personality: Arcanum is a good deal more lackadaisical than her operator, and is of the opinion that Selene is simply trying to hard. She frequently complains when Selene jacks in simply to go do work, and often tries to guilt or plead her way into doing something more fun (or just relaxing), ultimately to no effect.

Despite being incredibly lazy however, Arcanum considers herself to be Selene's morality and considers it her duty to remind her that she is a human being and can slack off now and then. She sternly disapproves of anything illegal Selene does (though she will still follow her orders), and often guilts her about lying to people. If there is one person that Selene is incapable of convincing properly, it is Arcanum- the two simply share too much of a wavelength, and Arcanum is easily capable of seeing through any facade that Selene might bring up.

That said, Arcanum is also a great deal more childish than Selene, especially in battle. She takes great glee in gloating, and is overconfident far more than not- she has a tendency to treat everything as a game, even if it is serious work, and can get caught up in romantic ideals and ideas to the point of ignoring reality as it is.

Type: Obstacle

[spoiler=Attacks] Fool (Obstacle) – Arcanum can use this technique to assume her Fool guise and summon two duplicates that mimic her actions. Though neither duplicate can preform attacks, the one consistently positioned at her left reflects Fire, Water, Elec and Wood attacks back at the opponent -though is destroyed easily by damage from other sorts of attacks- while the other reflects Wind, Sword. Break and Stealth attacks -though is again, easily destroyed by other sorts of attacks. If Arcanum's armor is broken by a number of attacks being made on it, both duplicates are also destroyed.

Magician (Obstacle) – Arcanum summons a duplicate donned in red by tossing a card behind the opponent. The copy releases a near constant stream of fire and moves as to always stay behind the opponent. It absorbs all fire-type attack damage without injury, but can be easily shattered by other sort of attacks.

Priestess (Obstacle) – Arcanum summons a duplicate donned in blue by tossing a card in front of herself. The copy releases a flurry of bubbles that can entrap and slowly drain the opponent's life, or act as fragile shields; It absorbs all water-type attack damage without injury, but can be easily shattered by other sort of attacks.

WIP to make this easier on myself as I migrate from computer to computer.

EDIT: Done.

You totally, totally, TOTALLY need to make it based off of Ballade. The guy doesn't get enoughy love and only appeared twice. <.<

Working on the app now.

OPERATOR:

Name: Viral Sendra

Gender: Male

Age: 15

Occupation: He runs and owns his own forum, and also does the occasional web design commission. He makes a nice sized amount of money off of the forum itself alone.

Appearance: I'll let the pic speak for me.

Tengen.Toppa.Gurren-Lagann.321677.jpg

Personality: Viral is reckless, and if not for the fact that he can actually handle himself and not be noticed, he would be constantly getting himself in really big trouble. Why, you ask? Well, you see the thing is...he's a big time hacker. He doesn't do it to be malicious or anything. Just so he can have a bit of fun. This one time he had left the shell of an omega virus right on the front steps of the cyberworld of Sci-Lab and just watched as they all freaked out and started firing at it, only to have a wooden dummy with a cranky expression and its tongue sticking out at them while wearing a red coat. Needless to say Viral had many laughs at their expense on that day. He almost got caught on that day as well, and it took several weeks for things to finally die down.

He also likes keeping his body in shape. He is a black belt in at least two different martial arts disciplines, since he had been training since elementary school, and he also likes using a blade to train with. It looks more like a butcher knife then anything, but he has also had some training with the sword. He prefers the butcher knife looking thing though. He doesn't really have all that many friends, because he never decided that it was worth the effort to find anyone that he wanted to hang with. They were all dumber than he was anyway, and someone had to at least be at his level in order for him to show an interest. Nobody was, so he decided that it would be better to remain a loner rather than subject himself to the dumber people around him, which means that other than teachers and his family, his contact with people is absolutely minimal.

History:

  • He was born.
  • He got his first computer at ten.
  • He hacked his first server at twelve. This is also when he got the base navi module for creating his own navi.
  • He created his first webpage at thirteen. He also finished creating his navi at this time.
  • He started running a forum at thirteen.
  • He made his first 100k off of forum advertising at fourteen and a half. He also Made some upgrades to his Navi after coming across discarded information in a low level security area of a government server. He was almost caught and had to lay low for a whole month before doing anything else computer related. This caused his forum to suffer for a short time.

Motivations: Because he is a nosy overly smart idiot that has nothing better to do. The challenge is there, therefore, he goes after it.

Trivia: You mean the fact that he is a prick? Yeah sure, we can totally go with that.

Theme:

NAVI: {NAME IN ALL CAPS}

Name: Exilion.exe

Gender: Male

Black and white armor and white hair reaching almost to the ground. He mas modeled only slightly based off of Zero.exe

His symbol is the greek capital letter for Sigma.

Personality: Basically the opposite of his net op. He is social, but he doesn't really approach anyone either, mostly because Viral doesn't want to have to deal with what he terms to be 'stupid people'. As such, the relationship with his operator is a bit strained since he would like to have a bit more fun, which is hard to do when you are cooped up in your Personal Terminal all day and night except for training exercises and occasoinally going into the undernet when his somewhat borderline lawless net op wants him to. Seriously, what does that guy have, a death wish or something? Even so, he will fight to protect what is dear to him, and even though that is precious little, that doesn't make it any less worth fighting for.

Type: Wind type

[spoiler=Attacks]

Wind cutter: Lets loose several blades of wind to slice through his enemies. (active)

Wind Spirit: Allows for a great amount of increase in speed, letting him momentarily move faster than can be followed. (can be set to passive as a counter to an attack, or active to be used offsensively in combat)

Wind Breaker: Usually used as part of a combo at the end of wind spirit. He smashes his fist downwards and is surrounded by a wind aura that damages all it touches while in use. If he is in the air, the attack will stay activated until he has reached the ground. (active)

I shall reserve as well just in case.

I suggest Ballade.

The only X character to appear in Megaman was Zero and he BARELY counts.

Also as copy abillity would just be chips or Double Soul it is a power that is either OP or moot.

So why not make Balladman opperated by Ax Steel? Then you got best of both worlds.

There are still spots open for this, right? And it looks like FIRE is still an option. Lucky me, I guess.

OPERATOR: ALDER WARD

Name: Alder Ward

Gender: Male

Age: 20

Occupation: Private contractor McAfee Security Systems - Anti-navi software division

Appearance: Alder as he is now is unfortunately thin, and his eyes are a very pale blue, only partially changing into a darker tone when he tries to look smiling upon a guest. His light brown hair is ragged, as he hasn't found the need to fix it up recently. His smile may be the only endearing visual quality that his illness hasn't taken away from him. Because he's been bedridden for months due to the illness he's normally in his pajamas, but on occasion, should a guest arrive, he'll try to look as best he can, whether that means a polo and jeans or a casual dress shirt and khakis depends on the situation.

Personality: With any living being, Alder may not be altogether completely comfortable, but he tries his best to be welcoming and friendly, helped greatly by his smile. Even though he's sick, he still tries to maintain a decent amount of work, something he takes pride in. If he's asked for assistance, especially in anything computer related, he's very much willing to help, as it's something to keep his mind off of his situation; not to mention that he makes enough money off of his other jobs anyway. He's very analytical, looking at some sort of problem in any case and trying to solve it without help, a habit he'll accidentally bring towards people and use attempt to solve their problems, usually ending in failure. Though he may be trusting to a few, it's not something he will just give easily, especially when it comes to the computers that Dragoman uses to help out in his work. But as far as people he does trust, he can be a bit too kind, and he likes having Dragoman around for the sole purpose of keeping him honest and making sure he doesn't do anything stupid. Even though he works hard, he can be a bit of a klutz if a job doesn't need his complete attention.

History:

- Alder's parents, his father a programmer himself, push for him to learn how to program. Being one who wanted to make his parents proud, he gladly agreed.

- As a freshman in high school, he developed and made his own Navi. It wasn't perfect, but it did get him recognition from developers at the university level, who helped him finish his design

- After the completion of the Navi, Dragoman, he was offered college level courses in Computer Science, which he decided to take. He never graduated though.

- Senior year of high school, instead of going off to college and getting a degree, he was referred, from a friend in the Defense Department of the US government, for a job as a net security programmer, a job he took.

- After a few years of working, though, he pushed himself too hard and ended up coming down with a very major illness. Since then, he's been bedridden. Taking advice from a friend, and after consulting with his parents, he moved from the capital to Imbrium City, hoping for a more recovering atmosphere.

Motivations: Even if he isn't currently working since he was put on a leave of absence, he's still very focused on internet security since that's what he believes to be what would make his parents proud.

Trivia: I'll just use this to quickly go over the main points gathered here:

- Working to make his parents proud of him

- Came down with an illness while working and is bedridden; is now in Imbrium to recover.

- His parents don't want him working, but him being him, he still gets work in whenever someone who understands that he shouldn't work isn't around

Theme: Kornog –

NAVI: DRAGOMAN

Name: DragoMan.EXE

Gender: Male

Appearance: Drago wears a black helmet with a design of a dragon's head worked in (2 eyes and 2 horns) based around a Red gem that sits in the front of the helmet just above the center of his two eyes. That tip of the diamond, along with the helmet, connects to a retractable facemask which will cover the rest of his face, save his eyes, in battle. He has slit pupils and golden hued eyes. His armor covers his upper body, with 4 small spikes coming out of his shoulders and attached to that is black half-cape on his back. His two arms have a pair of gauntlets (or whatever you like to call them, you know what I mean) with a gem placed on the top of each hand, a blue on the right, and a green on the left. Each of these gems represent his 3 attacks, which take the form of a flame of the same color of the gem. His symbol is a circle within a circle, where the inner circle is made up of 5 pieces, where the bottom 2 are 1/6 of the circle and colored Red, while 2 more on each side are both 1/4 and colored black, while the final part is gold and part of the outer ring, as a gold color.

Personality: Drago, while understanding Alder's will to work and make his parents proud, doesn't necessarily share the feelings, and he'll show this in conversation with him. It's not a problem he's had to really face since technically, Alden is his parent, and Alden relies on him for a lot of things. Since Alder is bedridden, he has to go out on the net to handle things. In some cases he can be inattentive when Alden's explaining these things and will go out on his own without hearing the objective, ending up wasting a lot of time just doing what he pleases because he's too proud to go back and ask Alden to repeat himself. More recently, if Alden doesn't need his help, he'll just head onto the net without guidance, a habit that has run him into trouble in Imbrium because of the rogue Navis. All that being said, he's still very loyal to Alden and looks up to him, he'd never do all the things he has to do if his handler wasn't him.

Type: Fire

[spoiler=Attacks] Flame of Nature - Verde (Fire) – Verde is a wilder flame based around distance attacks, forming around his hand, it can be thrown in waves or shot off as a fireball.

Flame of Focus - Azul (Sword) – The Azul requires a lot of focus to use, allowing the flames to come together. The more focus, the more it comes together to take on its perfect shape, a longsword. The "charge" shot, more focus leads to a longer swipe, more damage, and more likelihood to stun.

Flame of Rage - Rojo (Fire) – Rojo is the power move, where the user will cause an essential explosion right in front of them. Used mainly as a last line of defense, it's very deadly at close range and can't be used right after it's been activated.

@Nexev: You need to tell me what type you want to reserve. :I

@Zero: You've already heard what I need you to change over MSN. Three days.

@Wraith: Three days to make the following changes.

- I'd like a bit more in his personality, just 2-3 sentences.

- Not everyone needs to have a tech industry job, and I'm a bit concerned about how your character overlaps with mine in regards to their background. If you can't think of alternatives I'll change mine, but just something to consider.

- Navis will have the opportunity to gain more attacks, so keep that in mind when describing yours (the "each of these gems represent his 3 attacks" part).

- Flame of Nature - Verde: This thing is basically doing two different opposed things at once, with no real hard-and-fast rule for how it works. Pick one and drop the other. The "emotion" system doesn't work too well. :'3

Oh good, Rinne responded.

@Wraith: Three days to make the following changes.

Not like I'm gonna take more than an hour or two ;D

No problem. Even if he has less personality than his Navi xD

- Not everyone needs to have a tech industry job, and I'm a bit concerned about how your character overlaps with mine in regards to their background. If you can't think of alternatives I'll change mine, but just something to consider.

I'll have to read yours again, I didn't think they were that similar.

- Navis will have the opportunity to gain more attacks, so keep that in mind when describing yours (the "each of these gems represent his 3 attacks" part).

I'd probably need more explanation on this, but the ideas shouldn't conflict too badly, in my opinion.

Fine, it'll just be a fireball.

@Wraith: I have to leave for an interview, so I'll check this over when I get back. Watch this post.

Kay, good luck.

Also, I should point out the only similarity between yours and my character is that at some point they were overworked.

But where yours had too much to do and couldn't handle it, mine pushed himself too hard and ended up hurting his immune system, the main reason he came down with an illness. He still wants to work, and does so whenever he's not under the watchful eye of, well, anyone of his caretakers that his parents had seen fit for the job.

Still, I edited the app a bit.

@Wraith: It's more the fact that they have very similar job backgrounds: one is surveillance, while the other is defense. Their family circumstances are also pretty much the same (both had parents working for the government in technology), which was what I was concerned with. Everything else is OK, so just modify that a bit more to differentiate the two. (Also, it stretches disbelief to have a kid get hired by the Defense Department right out of high school.)

I see your point. Though the father isn't a government worker. I'll change his occupation around a bit and fix up his job expertise.

But of course it stretches disbelief ;3
