Aslla piscu of Wrath. Ccapac Apu of Sloth. Ccarayhua of Pride. Chacu Challhua of Greed. Cusillu of Lust. Uru of Envy. Wiraqocha Rasca of Gluttony. These deities were said to be invincible, and yet they've fallen to the Crimson Dragon in ages past. Now they've been resurrected once more, but this time, they've selected new masters, who've expressed their own cardinal sins in life. The first five Immortals have already made these Sinners aware of their presence.

A sixth Earthbound Immortal lies in wait inside a museum, giving off a peculiar aura that seems to haunt the building itself as it waits for its chosen Sinner to draw near. Sector Security have already cordoned off the museum, though they have allowed scientists inside to research this aura. They're currently still doing so, but they believe its source to be what's labelled as an "Incan Artefact", that had been found in the vicinity of the Nazca Lines.

What the scientists are unaware of is that one of their own has been kidnapped by a clan of acolytes, known only as the Zetsubou, and ordered to research the final Earthbound Immortal, which they have already captured. Currently, the Zetsubou gather in secrecy, plotting how exactly the Immortals will aid their wicked and vile plans to bring despair to the civilians of New Domino City, before they head out to rob the Sinners of the other Earthbound Immortals.

As a Sinner, the fate is in your hands. Will you try to tame your Earthbound Immortal, and perhaps use it against the Zetsubou? Will you set off on a quest to destroy the Immortal? Will you cleanse your soul and have the Immortal disappear forever? Will you merely seek answers as to why you've come across such a fate? Or will you allow the Immortal to feed off your soul, to the point where it can possess you and turn you against the innocent civilians?
Sora Furyoku jolted with a start... only to look around herself, and suddenly realize that she started a massive gossip of some sort, that enveloped the entire restaurant. Assuming Sora's ears were to be trusted, the gossip was heard to be of concern for the birthday girl herself. And it was all because she suddenly got brain-freeze. True, it was no ordinary brain-freeze; even the neurons inside Sora's brain were starting to crystallize over, and she could feel that. But although it lasted much longer than normal, even having the potential to last for an eternity, it still dissipated within seconds, vanishing just as rapidly as it occurred.

Unable to understand what was going on, Sora turned to face her father Koru. He didn't have the same wide-eyed look to his face that Sora's had become, but he still appeared stern nonetheless... almost having the feeling of genuine worry. However, now wasn't the time to idle by. Sora was obviously still flustered and confused by the sudden events taking place.

"Sora... we need to talk," Koru told her, "I've been researching the aura that was haunting the museum, and I've come to the conclusion that the Earthbound Immortals are responsible for it. They may well have caused that brain-freeze you just had as well."

"What?!" Sora flinched just by the sound of that, "But... I don't even..."

She was about to say she didn't have one in her deck, and was even searching through it just to ensure such a case. But when she got half-way through, Sora found herself paralysed in fear. There it was; one of the seven Earthbound Immortals, that had materialized itself in card form. The card appeared to illustrate a gargantuan bird of prey bursting from the ground. The creature itself had a black body, but strange, violet markings had appeared across its wings, chest, forehead, knees and feet. Its stats were pretty damn awful for a Level 10 monster, but that's not were its power would lie; it would lie within the monster's effect itself.

Questions laid within Sora's mind: how did it get there, and why did it appear? Was it supposed to be some kind of reward for surviving such a divine punishment? Was it a sign of things to come, or a message that the gods weren't done with her yet?

"D-...Dad?" Sora said hesitantly, "I... I... Please tell me I'm seeing things..."

"Why, what's wrong?" Koru asked... not getting a reply back. Something was wrong, he was sure of it, so he walked over to his grieving daughter... only to find himself staring down the Immortal as well. Now he was starting to get more concerned about these unholy creatures.

"I-It just appeared there," Sora stated, "I've never even seen this card before. Why has it...? Never mind, we shouldn't be worrying about this yet. Let's just get back to the way things were."

Yen frowned as he took yet another step out into the sun. Even after weeks of this same practice, it still felt odd to him to be able to enter and leave the mansion whenever he pleased. At the moment, he was alone, but he planned to duel the first living being he saw.

Routine. More duels. More wins. That was what he wanted. But he also needed to conserve his energy. He couldn't afford to waste more energy than necessary, which would force him to consume more than necessary, which would endanger his life. He had a large yet limited amount of money inherited over from his father. He had only managed to save himself just in time, from the end that awaited. He had to delay it for as long as possible, he had to delay his fate. He had to conserve as much money as possible.

For a second, he felt a dark presence in his mind. That annoying little presence which threatened his own self-preservation, yet which also seemed to make up his self-sanity. Or maybe it was the other way around, maybe it threatened his self-sanity but made up his self-preservation. He didn't like to think about it. He reached into his deck and grinned as he took out the card, the card which was most definitely the source for this dark presence, yet which had also ensured most of his duels.

It seemed to bring good luck. Yes, that card. Its artwork depicted that of a dark whale erupting from the ground, a whale with indigo markings running through it. It had decent stats, but its effect was almost surprising, it was a stupidly overpowered effect with an easily-overcome drawback. And it was Level Ten too, along with the coincidental fact that it worked perfectly with his deck. The ultimate card to ensure his wins. This card, this unstoppable Earthbound Immortal. But what bothered him was the effect that allowed him to control only one Earthbound Immortal at a time.

Did that mean that there were other Immortals as well?

The thought only just occurred to him, but as soon it did he paused in his tracks. It appearing to him was destiny. But no, he couldn't bring himself to abandon self-preservation for hungrily searching for more Immortals. That wasn't a wise choice. He looked around for a moment one last time, checking for someone, anyone to duel. He was starting to get impatient. Duels. He needed more duels, more wins.

Erin and Jasmine, amongst the other guests in the restraurant, were looking across at the girl who had suddenly seemed to get a brain freeze.

"A brain freeze, after only one bite. That seems kinda unusual don't you think, Erin."

"I would agree with that, but maybe it just happens sometimes. She is rather obese after all."

The two went back to their own meals, Erin eating a large steak and Jasmine eating a smaller salad. Looking across at the action again, Erin caught a glimpse of the centre of attention looking at a card from her deck. Although she could only see some of the artwork, she felt a chill of anticipation down her spine. A large bird of prey with violet markings on the body, bursting out of the ground. Unmistakably, that was an Earthbound Immortal, though it didn't match her families description of the one that had lost them their large wealth. She wasn't after any birdlike Earthbound Immortals, but rather a lizardlike one. Earthbound Immortal Ccarayhua, a lizardlike reptile with green markings on the body.

"Are you ok?"

"I'm fine, Jaz, nothing to worry about."

Jasmine was still worried, Erin was staring over at that the brain freeze girl, and Jasmine noticed the card in her hand for an instant too, only seeing the name, before the girl moved the card out of her line of sight. Earthbound Immortal Wiraqocha Rasca.

"Hey Erin, do you think that Earthbound Immortal has anything to do with the one that was previously on display at the museum."

"How would I know, the artworks seem to be similar but why are they in separate places if they are of the same archetype?"

"I dunno, I just thought they had similar names."

The two of them returned to their meals, each mulling the interesting occurence in their own minds.

Bridget looked up at the card as she reclined on her bed in her small apartment. The little 3-room abode was just barely enough for a person to live in, which suited her. She didn't need much but a place to do her schoolwork and a place to crash afterwards that was close to her jobs and the campus, and it served her well. But on her way back, she found this strange Duel Monsters card, "Earthbound Immortal Uru", which she liked for some unknown reason. It could be teched into her Verz Deck with a few modifications, such as a Mystic Plasma Zone to power up her DARK monsters, but even though it seemed like the logical thing to sell it, she wanted to keep it as a lucky charm. She eventually closed her eyes and went to sleep, holding the card close to her chest.

As Yen continued to walk, he found himself walking farther than usual, but still there was nobody around, not a single living soul. It was starting to bug him. As he ventured further and further away from his mansion, he started to think for a moment about how he would head back. Quite possibly he would have to simply ask for directions back. But then how could he ask for directions if no one was around?

He stopped when he reached a restaurant. Obviously he had gone way too far if he had reached a restaurant. And that's when he realized that he had never been to a restaurant before. No, he wasn't planning on eating inside, he couldn't afford to waste money on such trivial things. He would just take a quick look.

Yen took a step inside the restaurant and looked around. Most of those inside the restaurant didn't seem to notice him but a few noticed how he was dressed in a not very ordinary way. He wore a dark formal uniform which looked like it came from an overseas school, along with gloves and a large scarf wrapped around his neck. Noticing them noticing this, he quickly turned around to exit the restaurant. He had seen enough.

But then it registered into his head that he had forgotten to put his Earthbound Immortal card away. He had been holding it the entire time. He put it back into his deck. It didn't matter, nobody would care. Then he began walking in the opposite direction of the restaurant. If he didn't find any duelists in the next few minutes then he would just head back. His eyes began to dart all over, looking for one.

The scream of a hummingbird. The cackle of a fire. It haunted young Ira's mind, taunting, hurting, angering her. Fire and death: anger. And anger had a manifestation. She whipped out a card from her pocket. An effect monster, level 10, decent stats and a holographic art which made her shiver. A hole in the ground, blue fire rising upwards and her haunter rising from that, yellow marks and lines criss-crossing.
The scream of a hummingbird.
"SHUT THE HELL UP!" she shouted to the sky. Heads turned in her direction. A few people whispered 'wanted', 'criminal', 'murderer....' and quickly they scattered in different directions, leaving Ira alone in the street. She pulled a rude gesture and ran off herself. She was not in the mood for sector security, not in the mood for more death. Her head burned, the cry of the famillia bird called.
Ira crumpled to the ground outside a restaurant bustling with activity and began sobbing. "Go away... I hate you! Please..."
***
CRACK. A man appeared seemingly out of nowhere with a crash of thunder in a narrow hallway, possibly of an apartment building. He didn't look too surprised at having been transported half way around the world, but he looked tired, that was for sure.
The hallway was small and narrow, there was a door on his left and one further up the corridor, as well as 3 behind him. Definately an apartment.
"Damn." he muttered, pulling out a black framed card, "Why now, why here? Ugh, it was so much easier cycles ago, when there was 8 of us to share the work, now I'm... Alone."
The card did nothing, the artwork of an electrical dragon glittered in the light streaming through the window.
"Damn." he muttered again, hitting his head on the wall and sinking to sit himself on the ground. "DAMN!"

Meanwhile, breaking her way out of the hospital, Kira jogged down the road a little bit, before gasping for breath. All she could think about was collecting the Earthbound Immortals and presenting them to her master, and she was never going to be able to do that whilst stuck inside there. Besides, it wasn't like she felt she needed to be there anyway.

"What's with these weird persons?" Kira asked herself, fully aware that no-one would hear her out here, "Why do they insist there's something wrong with me? Just because my tears are red rather than... ah-ah-ah... ATCHOO!!"

Droplets of blood sprayed onto Kira's sleeves as she sneezed, and all around her mouth too... never mind the pavement that she was walking on. Normal people would freak out on such a discovery, but Kira... she looked as though she was unaware, even oblivious of what was actually happening to her. She sneezed twice more, spraying even more blood in the after-mentioned places.

"Hmm... maybe I should stop doing that," she told herself, "Perhaps the weird persons'll only send me back to that weird place."

She would onwards towards the restaurant, trying to remember something about her past life. But then, she remembered... challenging a mouse to a duel? No, this memory had to belong to someone in close proximity. Kira herself would never be that foolish. But then she remembered using... the very same card that she was actually after. Again, this memory probably belonged to someone else, and Kira was gonna find this someone no matter what it took! Eventually, she found someone stepping outside a nearby restaurant, appearing to be looking for directions somewhere.

"What strange clothing..." Kira meant to talk to herself, but projected her voice loudly enough for the other person to overhear.

Yen stopped. He was annoyed by this sudden comment. His clothes weren't exceedingly formal, but not rubbish either, which was his best attempt at trying to blend in. He turned to see a red-haired girl, and saw the blood on her sleeves. Really, this should have put him on the offensive, but instead a different thought came into his mind. Here's a duelist at last! He had no doubt that there were duelists inside the restaurant, but they were all too busy eating, consuming precious resources that ought to be kept.

"You, asylum girl." He said, pointing at the girl. She looked like she had just escaped out of an asylum, an asylum that tortured their inhabitants. If this was the case or not, Yen didn't really care.

He walked over to her, activating his Duel Disk. On closer examination, she seemed to be younger than he himself, and had a different kind of look about her. He almost half-regretted considering to challenge her. But once again, he just ignored the bad feeling. He just needed another duel, another win. He didn't care who, or what, or why, or when. Well, maybe a little, but not enough to care. They weren't very far away from the restaurant but it was a decent enough distance.

"I challenge you to a duel. Do you accept?"

Kira Tsurara

"Well, at least they suit him. Must be just another one of those weird per... wait," Kira suddenly reached an epiphany about this strangely clothed gentleman. And it wasn't the fact that she shouldn't have sneezed back there before she allowed him to see her. True, Kira did end up being called an asylum girl for that, but that wasn't the important part.

"So you're the one that has Chacu Challhua," Kira mused, "Master would be pleased if I could acquire that card from you. Very well, I shall accept your challenge... oh, and since you're the challenger, I get the first move."

With that, Kira armed her Duel Disk, a pure blood red one, and drew six cards: five for the initial hand and one more for the turn. The obvious thing to do would be to play defensively, so that's what Kira went with.

"I set one monster in Defense Position and 2 cards face down," Kira declared, "Your move..."

Sora & Koru Furyoku

"Did someone just call me fat?" Sora asked herself in thought, unamused that she managed to pick up on that. She looked around the restaurant, but all she managed to find was a couple of women across on another table, one of whom appeared to have just stopped looking at her. This particular woman was eating a steak... odd choice of food item for a woman to be eating in a restaurant, but it didn't place too high on the rare occurrence chart.

"Something tells me that woman was just gawking at me a few seconds ago," Sora mused.

"Just ignore her," Koru suggested, "I'd do the same thing if some random person ended up with agonizing pain,"

"Yeah, sure you would," Sora scoffed, before biting into the dessert that seemed to give her the brain-freeze from earlier, but this time being unaffected by it, "Mmm, this thing's actually quite good. Wonder what the others are like."

Suddenly, everything returned back to normal... for the most part. However, Sora still felt it would be in her best interests to keep an eye and an ear out for the woman across from the two... the better to get an idea of what she was up to.

Hm? How the hell did she know- Yen thought but was cut off as the female started her move. He didn't know who this girl was, but he was going to defeat her. Nothing else mattered. Yen drew five of his own cards.

"Draw!" He declared, drawing a sixth. He examined his hand for a moment before making his move. "I'll start by activating the spell card Level Limit - Area B, which will put all Level 4 monsters and higher in Defense Position as long as it's on the field."

Suddenly, the gravity below the two seemed to increase a little bit, and apparently the larger an object was, the more it was affected. After this, Yen had several options to play the duel with. He could go on the offensive, or he could go on the defensive. In the end, he decided that it wasn't worth it to go on the offensive so early, and thus chose the defensive. He still didn't know what kind of deck this girl played, so he had to be cautious. Not to be overhasty with winning.

"Then I'll set a monster and two cards - just like you - and end my turn."

Lee had seated himself at a table that was conventially a bit away from the others. It wasn't that he didn't like people, he actually liked people, but his blindness could cause problem with people wanting to help him and him occasionally doing something that a person with sight would rarely do, like kicking a small kid by mistake. He had ordered a cupcake, but he wasn't sure what flavour it was. When the waiter had asked him, he had just said "Surprise me." Judging by the smell, it was probably a chocolate cupcake, but he wasn't certain. He took a bite. Banana.

Soon he heard sobbing coming from his left, the voice of a woman, possibly a young girl. He turned his head towards the sound, even if it was redundant it made him feel like if he showed that he was giving the girl attention, which he obviously did.

"What's wrong?" He asked gently and took another bite of the banan cupcake. No wait, it was actually strawberry.

Jasmine turned to Erin again, this time saying,

"I think she noticed you looking at her."

"Why wouldn't she. It's a free country afterall. It's not like I'm not allowed to look at people if i want to."

"So you don't think it would matter if someone was looking at you the whole time then?"

"It would annoy me a bit but it's not like anyone would stare at me. This girl is very prime stareable material though, what with the brain freeze and all, not to mention the Earthbound Immortal she has."

Jasmine went back to her salad, finishing it off while Erin continued to tear into her steak. After a couple of minutes had passed, Erin looked back over, trying to avoid being noticed by her, and Jasmine turned to follow her gaze.

"Why is she eating the same ice-cream that gave her such a bad brain freeze a couple of minutes ago?"

Erin mused, not realising that she was speaking loud enough for Jasmine to hear that latest comment.

"Probably because it tastes good. It's not the first time someone has got a bad brain freeze and gone back to whatever they were eating the moment it wears off. Nor is it the first time you have tried to figure out why people do such silly things."

Erin didn't say anything in response to that, too busy finishing the steak to reply.

"If you really want to find out about why she would do such a thing, maybe a duel would help, all friendly and stuff. Who knows, you might find more out about that Earthbound Immortal at the same time."

"You make a convincing argument, but it's not like she knows me or anything. I doubt she would just accept a duel against a complete stranger."

"Why not try, the worst that could happen is that she does reject the duel. And if she does, well it's a free world. It's not like it's forbidden to ask complete strangers for a duel. Look, I'll even ask her for you if it would make you feel better."

"Fine, we go with your idea. If this ends up failing though, I'm putting all responsibility for it onto you."

Jasmine, with Erin trailing behind her, walked up to the table with Sora on it.

"Excuse me lady, I'm Jasmine and this is Erin. We were wondering of you would agree to a friendly duel against Erin?"

Kira Tsurara

"Ooooh, I see what you're trying to do; you want me to reveal what kind of deck I have," Kira mused, "Alright, I'll bite. I Flip Summon my Crystal Beast Cobalt Eagle, and then summon Crystal Beast Sapphire Pegasus in Attack Position alongside it."

An eagle had flapped its wings briefly, before succumbing to the effects of the strange new gravity field, and ending up roosting on the battlefield. Not a long time later, it was joined by a winged unicorn that soared into the sky, before landing and galloping the rest of the distance to the battle field. It too was affected, by the gravity field, but it had dropped what looked to be an emerald.

"Now, when Sapphire Pegasus is Summoned to the field, I get to choose a Crystal Beast from my hand, Graveyard or Deck to place in my Spell and Trap Zone, to act as a Continuous Spell Card," Kira explained, "As you can see, I've taken the liberty to choose Crystal Beast Emerald Tortoise. And although my current monsters have both switched to Defense Position thanks to your spell, I'm about to summon something that'll be completely unaffected by it. I overlay my Crystal Beast Sapphire Pegasus with my Crystal Beast Cobalt Eagle to Xyz Summon Kachi Kochi Dragon in Attack Position."

Within moments, both Crystal Beasts have been sucked into a black hole, which vanished just as quickly as it appeared. In its place was a dragon whose body looked to be made of solid granite, and whose roar proved to be intimidating.

Dragon-type/EARTH/Rank 4/2100 ATK/1300 DEF

"Finally, since I Xyz Summoned a monster, I can activate this trap; Xyz Effect," Kira declared, "It allows me to destroy any single card of my choosing, and since Level Limit is of no hindrance to me, I select the Spell or Trap card in the centre."

Sora wolfed down a couple more desserts before beginning to leave, obviously having already started to lose her apatite. But then, just when she got her admittedly oversized butt off her seat, a second woman had approached her and asked for a duel... right when she was far from in the mood. Still, she couldn't just walk away from her; that would be just plain rude.

"Why now?" Sora asked the woman frustratedly, "Can't you see that I'm in distress, here? Just leave me alone; both of you."

It was after saying that that she walked away, and out of the restaurant altogether. All Sora could think about now, rather than paying the slightest attention to the current duel or the conversation between a blind monk and... some other girl, was trying to forget what happened in there, and dueling wasn't the way to go. Perhaps a trip to the monastery was in order.

Yen frowned as his opponent made an Xyz Summon. "Xyz Monsters." He muttered. But other than that, he didn't mind. So apparently his opponent ran Crystal Beasts. He didn't know much about them, other than the basics, becoming Spells and Traps upon destruction and things like that. Then one of his two set cards was destroyed, Dimensional Prison, leaving him just the other left.

"Well, who am I to argue?" He said, shrugging. "Go on, continue your turn."

Ira looked up, her eyes red from sobbing. For a second she appeared as sad as she had a second ago, then her face regained its usual composure.
"What's it to you?" She spat, in contrast to the mans gentle words. "You sound like you care, but the people who have cared always end up to be hiding something. I doubt you're any different! If you knew who I was, then you wouldn't be talking to me, you wouldn't pretend to care, you would run away like everyone else! Nobody likes a criminal, nobody likes Ira Ferveo."
She said her name with such hate, it made her flinch from how harsh her words sounded, but she quickly regained her composure.
"Any anyway, you wouldn't understand what's wrong with me, you couldn't comprehend how angry I get, what I do. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE ME! So..." her voice quavered slightly, "leave me alone.... and nobody gets hurt...." With that threat, she turned her back to the man and began for the exit, in case anyone had heard her name, and already calling Sector Security.

"Hmm, you've seemed to have taken too well," Kira muttered, almost as if to herself, "It almost feels as if you were expecting that... either that or I've selected the wrong spell or trap. No matter, I'll attack your face-down monster with Kachi Kochi Dragon."

Kachi Kochi Dragon fired a beam of crystallized energy at the monster, mustering all the energy it had for the attack. Whether that attack were to be intercepted or not would be another story. After all there was one more face-down card to worry about.

Eventually, Koru left the restaurant as well... but not to chase after Sora. In truth, he didn't even go in the same direction, but instead, he returned to his vehicle, and drove back to his home... well, that was what he was originally planning to do. But on the way, he stopped and parked at the presidential building, feeling he best warn the mayor of his sudden discovery. After all, if Koru's hypothesis was correct, thousands, even millions of innocent civilians would die. Within moments, Koru was welcomed inside.

"Apologies for the short notice, mayor, but I have something that needs to be discussed," Koru informed.

"Does it have anything to do with the museum?" the mayor asked wearily.

"No! ...yes," Koru stated, "I've come to the conclusion that the Earthbound Immortals themselves are responsible for haunting it,"

"The Immortals?" the mayor queried, an eyebrow raised, "You mean those monsters that attempted to destroy this city the last couple of centuries ago? I thought the Crimson Dragon or whatever it was banished them for good!"

"We all did, mayor," Koru admitted, "We don't know how they managed to resurface, either. But I fear that if we don't destroy these creatures right now, then history will repeat itself... which is why I suggest we demolish the museum."

"But that would cause an uproar!" the mayor shouted, before realizing that this could be for the greater good, and sighing briefly, "Guess that's something we'll have to deal with. Alright, I'll send in the demolition crew tomorrow morning, but I'm also gonna have to get some more Sector Security officers to accompany them."

Yen grinned a little as his face-down monster, Giant Germ was revealed, before the dragon destroyed it.

"Actually, your choice of Spell or Trap affects me little." He said. "And now the effect of my Giant Germ activates. First off, when it's destroyed, I can inflict 500 points of damage to you. Then during the aftermath, I can Special Summon any number of new Giant Germs from my deck in Attack Position, so naturally I'll bring out two more."

When the Giant Germ exploded, it sent a small purple blob at Kira, which burnt a little acidly. Then after that, two more Giant Germs formed onto the field (ATK 1000).

"I already know the effect of your Kachi Kochi Dragon." Yen stated. "Feel free to take out another Germ, if you want to, that is."

Although Yen felt that he had the game currently in his favor, he was still secretly anxious deep inside. His opponent knew about his Earthbound Immortal, and she looked rather odd, extremely odd. Still, she wouldn't last long. His plan was to counter Kachi Kochi Dragon's next attack with his facedown before activating his Field Spell and tributing the two Germs for Chacu Challhua. Area B would then put it straight into Defense Position, ready for its effect to be used. He imagined the scene over and over in his mind, looking at the two essential cards in his hand. The duel was already in his favor, so long as everything went according to plan.

Ein had found Bridget's address from her school and was the one assigned by Zetsubou to investigate whether or not she had an Earthbound Immortal, and in the case that she did he was to retrieve it by any means necessarily. He had read her file and knew about her academics and plans for the future and he had planned out a means of peacefully getting a hold of her Earthbound Immortal, next on his list was a man named Yen Inamori who is supposed to be a reclusive millionaire who for some reason doesn't invest any of his money and would soon be in need of financial help once he had reached her apartment Ein noticed there was another man there and decided to watch for a while.

Rikou was preparing to meet with one of his colleges apparently he had figured something out about what was going on and strangely was planning to demolish the museum.

Despite already knowing of Yen's intentions, Kira was contemplating on whether or not to maintain her currently reckless offensive, even though she was trailing behind by 500 Life Points because of that cursed Giant Germ. After all, that face-down would likely only get in the way during a key timing in the future if she didn't deal with it now... while it didn't truly matter in the slightest. "Indeed I am!" Yen confirmed, and revealed his face-down, Mirror Force. "This will redirect your attack, save my Germ, and destroy your Xyz Monster, saving me the trouble of destroying it myself by battle." A force-field then materialized in front of the Giant Germ. Before the Kachi Kochi Dragon's attack could hit, it was split and reflected into smaller beams of energy by the force field back towards the Xyz Monster.

"So, do you end your turn?" Yen asked, smirking. "If you do, then I'm afraid the duel will already be in my favor."

"Perhaps, but that's only because I lent you this favour," Kira scoffed, uncaring that her Kachi Kochi Dragon had been destroyed by the Mirror Force, "I know you have Chacu Challhua... it's even in your hand. Yen winced a little as the female seemed to discern his hand. How did she know that? He guessed it was probably only simply most likely due to the fact that he had played a bad poker face, and that she was already familiar with the Earthbound Immortal effect. But just how familiar was she with their effects?

"Very well." Yen said. "My turn, draw."

As he drew his next card, his first move had already been decided. With a single move the Field Zone on his Duel Disk opened up and he slapped a card onto it, a Field Spell Card. "I activate the Field Spell Xyz Territory! This will increase the ATK and DEF of all battling Xyz Monsters by 200 for each Rank they have!" Then suddenly both Yen and his mysterious opponent found themselves within a clear blue sphere, brimming with energy. "After that, I'm sure we both know my next move. I release my two Gia-"

He glanced down at his hand for just a moment as he was about to take out his Earthbound Immortal, and his eyes locked down upon the other card in his hand. Then a better idea formed in his mind.

"----nt Germs as overlay units!" He declared. A slight variation in his move wouldn't hurt anyone. It was a sudden move; he hadn't been planning or thinking about it at all, it just occurred to him. Chacu Challhua could wait one more turn, although he really wanted to summon it. He was dying to summon it, but something about this lunatic female seemed off. He was just taking unnecessary chances, but still. "And thus I Xyz Summon Gachi Gachi Gantetsu! In Defense Postion, no less."

The two Giant Germs were then suddenly sucked into a red spiral portal, which then vanished. In its place was a stone humanoid, crouching down with two arms in front of it to shield itself. (DEF 1800 > 2200)

"Then I'll set a card and end my turn." Yen finished. "I hope I surprised you, because I surprised myself more."

Lee smiled, strangely. The sound of the other people at the restaurant talking and eating hadn't fade, so Lee figured they hadn't reacted, or simply hadn't heard, when Ira uttered her name.

"I wouldn't care if I knew who you were?" He said and chuckled. "Then don't tell me. I have a terrible history too, but I don't tell people about it because I know it would scare people who doesn't know me away. I don't know Ira Ferveo, but I'm sure she is a reasonable girl if she didn't shy away from people. The people of this city may know who you are and will keep themselves away from you, but I'm not from this city, so I wouldn't know what you've done." Lee actually knew who Ira was and why people hated her, but he wasn't the kind of person who would instantly shun a person because of something in the past, especially considering his own.

No matter, that just makes this duel take a little longer... that's all. The former allows me to place any two Crystal Beasts in my Spell and Trap Zone, the two cards I can choose from being Sapphire Pegasus and Cobalt Eagle, while the latter allows me to return it to my hand at the cost of another card. Obviously, the best option for me is to choose Amber Mammoth."

After that, two crystals appeared in the back row, taking place of the two previously used Trap Cards. One was a sapphire, and the other was a cobalt crystal of some sort. Next, Kira activated another Spell Card.

"I'm a little saddened that my unexpected maneuver was expected, but I guess that was to be expected, seeing as you are the unexpected, I could expect anything.." Yen replied, before pointing to one of the crystals. "I'll select Crystal Beast Sapphire Pegasus to return to the grave." He had a feeling that he wouldn't be able to make an easy win on an opponent like this, no matter what he tried. But still, all the more satisfaction when he won. He wasn't especially fond of difficult duels, but he could manage. He rarely ever lost. For a split second, his father appeared in his mind, but he quickly pushed the memory away. He wouldn't lose to a stranger, to whose name he didn't even know . . . . what was her name anyway? It just occurred to him that he had no idea to ask the name of this zombie-ish girl.

"Feel free to continue your move, weirdo, but first, may I know your name?" He asked, bowing politely for a moment. He was going to win this duel, he had to.
