Yes, I can finally make my Vairon Omega turbo deck competitive! It's definitely usable for decks that actually use equips, especially in the LCCG, and has the potential to net you pluses whilst building up a beatstick. But being an Equip makes it vulnerable to all the classic disadvantages of Equip cards. If it can protect the monster from destruction (or be removed from the field) by destroying itself instead, its playability would skyrocket.
