It kinda was with Moray of Greed, but almost no one used that combo, except for maybe some obscure Gishki/Diva Fish/whatever decks. With this card, the situational part actually goes away in many WATER decks that use monsters with 1500 or less ATK. In fact, I would go so far as to say, this makes the combo so consistent, it raises all WATER decks by half a tier (no, not really, but it does make them much better).

Salvage is actually a +1, considering that you are using 1 card to get 2 cards back while Duality is a 0.

I did it because I felt like making Salvage even more broke.

I wouldn't go so far as to say it breaks salvage in the same sense that rekindling doesn't break laval or flamvell. It's an amazing card, but it's the boost they need to become competitive, not broken like six Sam back in the day or inzektor

Rekindling started its own syndrome: Broken Card, but no Broken Targets = Balanced. I tried doing that with Salvage a bit.

Though in reality it's bad card design due to giving OTKs 1 less card in the deck to worry about.

That's almost like saying Lightsworns are bad card design because they thin the deck so much giving you less cards to worry about as you setup for JD. I don't see much in the form of WATER based OTKs anymore, are they still common anywere?

An archtype? Maybe you're right. A single card? Pretty much.

Shove 3 of these in mass draw Exodia and it gives you 3 less cards to worry about at the cost of not getting a Spell Counter. I would do it.

EDIT: Also note that this is splashable as hell and gives you a +0 hand advantage. I haven't seen OTK/FTKs that rely on milling, but I sure as hell have seen OTK/FTKs that rely on drawing.

I agree, almost like Pot of Duality/any Pot card really without any of the drawbacks. Needs a if you control a WATER monster or something.

Broke without Salvage because it's an easier to reuse Upstart Goblin that makes your deck possible to be a 34 card deck.

Discarding to draw is a necessary evil. Maybe this might make FTKs top and get them list attention?
