burnpsy
Okay no offense, but you can like Higurashi and all but it is extremely violent and disturbing. While it may not be a splatterfest like Elfen Lied or whatever, it still contains plenty of violence and gratutious imagery. I don't see why everyone is so adamantly claiming that it doesn't, as if it defines whether or not it's a good show.
...Did you actually read any of the posts? DARKPLANT RISING
I don't see why everyone is so adamantly claiming that it doesn't, as if it defines whether or not it's a good show.
Okay, let me clear it up. I never said Higurashi ISN'T violent. It certainly is. My argument is that saying "Higurashi is a bad anime because it's violent", or "Higurashi is centered about violence" is just wrong. The violence in Higurashi isn't the motive, it's a tool used effectively to emphasize the characters' emotions of terror and paranonia. It doesn't make the anime any worse; in fact it makes it better in this case. So, I was being annoyed at these guys who said the above statements etc.
Astro Dude
And Darkplant was right on some aspects. Like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BcyueUVeuJ8 It was hilarious. Oh I'm sorry I doubted you Darkplant. Yet this is something I would rather watch in small doses. Very small doses.
