Tentacruel
This genre scares me. The names of the bands alone turn me off. O_o
.Rai
:S I've personally never understood a lot of metal genres simply because it's basically listening to the atonal ramblings of an extremely loud guitar mixed with unrestrained percussion. Besides, I don't trust anything with a name like brutal death metal.
Tentacruel
I might listen to it if it weren't for the grotesque imagery tbh. -__-

Tentacruel
Grindcore I probably wouldn't listen to even without the grotesque imagery but to each his own I suppose.

The only melodeath I really like anymore is At The Gates (not their old stuff), and even they got old. In Flames used to be my favorite band, then they got overly metalcore and whatnot. Plus their sound just gets stale and their lyrics are bland. I still vote Grindcore. >:
d3ath79
Technical death metal is the best metal genre. Viraemia is very good.
Tentacruel
I'm with Phantom. Melodeath is usually better IMHO due to being significantly less atonal.
d3ath79
By the way, how old is everyone? I'm 18, I listen to Brutal, Technical, and Slamming Death Metal. Electro-Grind band Hanni Kohl. Indie Finnigan, which is very unknown. Aspiring drummer of Brutal Death Metal.

I listen to a few grindcore band but even the fanbase of those bands argue whether they're grindcore or mathcore (i.e Iwrestledabearonce). And Brutal Death Metal is as bad as Deathcore. Gospel. Not really following to brutal death metal scene that much anymore. I rarely look for new stuff since I'm pretty much content with my current collection. Lazer Yoshi
I myself usually tend to lean towards Thrash Metal, but some Death Metal bands are great. Death, Obituary, and Meshuggah are pretty neat. It's people starting to get unnecessarily vulgar or gory that push it a little to far for my tastes. Cannibal Corspe is an example. Dismal Euphony
I rarely find myself listening to brutal death metal (or death metal, in general) these days. I used to really enjoy bands like Abysmal Torment, (older) Cryptopsy, Decapitated, Bloodbath, etc. I typically listen to atmospheric black metal and DSBM nowadays. It's so much better. Brutal death just lacks the appeal.

(Not to mention the album covers.) At least a lot of prog/melo death bands are half-way tasteful.
