CrystalCyae
it begins whenever. But The World Ends With YOU- *shot* meh/ It begins at different times for different people, I reckon. I mean, for all I know, the world only just came into existence when I was born or something. If that applied to everyone, the world has existed and ceased existing many times. And, theoretically, the world stops existing for a person when they dream, because they disregard the world around them and create there own. It functions as a metaphor whether direct or not, and thank you... (checking names)... Izaya.
I understand your point now. An event can function as a metaphor indirectly like that I assume. BehindTheMask
No one has stated that this theory is true. Zeal Ascendant
It actually is pretty hard to disprove O_O But yeah, sometimes I wonder if life is all just a dream. And what the real world is like. Also, sometimes I get the feeling that sometimes only what I can see is real. Everything else is just put in place as I go along to make things realistic. But those are all just untrue

Kirun Wolf
There is quite a beautiful theory that takes the form of a story. A man dies and finds himself laying by a tree. The tree says, "Is there anything you would like to know?" The man is startled but replies, "What is the meaning of life?" The tree laughs, "You keep asking me that." The man thinks a moment and says, "I don't understand..." The tree wavers in the mind. "This time, you will be a 5th century chinese girl." "Wait!" cries the man. "You mean to say that I have to live as every human that ever lived?" "No," responds the tree. "You are every human that ever lived. You are Hitler and the millions of Jews. You are the rapist and the victim, the priest, the princess, and the pauper." "But, I don't remember..." "If you stayed here long enough, you just might..." "But why must I endure all this?" "Quite possibly because you are but a child. When you have experienced all that there is to experience through humanity, maybe then you will be mature enough to walk among us." "Am I... are you god?" "We are, what we are." (I didn't quote it perfectly, but I think I have the sentiment. It's just a fun theory)
If I ever find the original story I'll give it to you. The only perceivable hole would be to say that time, in fact, exists. Which it does. So yeah the theory is garbage but it's still a wonderful, and beautiful story.
