Let's make a Tier 0 Union archetype [The Amalgamates

Face it, most Unions suck. The only good Unions are Gearframe and Peacekeeper, and that's just because they happen to be +1s or stuff.

Let’s look at the main reasons Unions are so terrible, by using Inzektors, a pseudo-Union archetype, as an example of better options in the process.

-Depressingly slow, given without Frontline Base etc. all Unions require over 2 Normal Summons. Inzektors, a pseudo-Union archetype in Order of Chaos, solved this problem by allowing instant equips from the hand or Graveyard, meaning they can start their moves without help from other support cards.
-The only current support for them are Delta Tri, Machina Peacekeeper, Union Rider, Combination Attack, Frontline Base, Roll Out and Formation Union. Of these, only Peacekeeper, Frontline, and Roll Out are worth running.
-Unions overall have low ATK for their Level, and most are also vanillas on their own.
-The whole idea of changing monsters to Equips itself is basically a s***load of -1s, given Equips don't really count as field advantage. Equipping also decreases the number of monsters you control, leading to lesser damage, making it even worse. Besides, most Unions have the same Level, meaning it's normally better to go for Xyzs. Inzektors were purposely created to never get disadvantages by making Inzektor Hornet so insanely broken, the -1 instantly turns into a +4 when equipped to a certain monster most of you guys probably know and fear.
-Even if you use Unions on your monsters, most of them only serve as extra shields. Some recent Unions are better, but still not enough. Meanwhile Inzketors – well, I suppose I don’t have to bring out the talk of Hornet again.
-Every Union says “A monster can only by equipped with 1 Union Monster at a time.” This means they can’t be abused.

In short, Unions are terrible in all aspects. They’re useless on their own, inconsistent to combo, and despite all that, generally have depressingly bad recompenses.

But look at their awesome art.

Yes, that’s really what matters. Everyone loves their art. They definitely deserve more, and not in the form of those hell-broken Beelzebubs holding yellow-and-black shotguns.

Let’s make a good Union archetype that’s amazing, and yet doesn’t break the concept. This is my try at it: the Amalgamates.

The Amalgamate Blazer
Level 4 FIRE Pyro [1900/200] [b]YES, I DID THAT ON PURPOSE.[/b]
If this card is sent to the Graveyard, except by the effect of a “The Amalgamate” monster: You can send 1 “The Amalgamate” monster in your deck to your Graveyard. Once per turn, during your Main Phase, you can equip this card to a "The Amalgamate" you control, OR unequip it to Special Summon this card in face-up Attack Position. While equipped to a monster by this card’s effect: Increase the ATK of the equipped monster by 1000 points. When this card destroys a monster by battle: Target 1 face-up “The Amalgamate” monster you control; Equip 1 “The Amalgamate” monster in your hand to the target. When this card is in your Graveyard: Target 1 face-up “The Amalgamate” monster you control; Equip this card to the target (You can only activate this effect of “The Amalgamate Blazer” once per duel). (A monster can only by equipped with 1 Union Monster at a time. If the equipped monster would be destroyed, destroy this card instead.)

The Amalgamate Crusher
Level 4 FIRE Pyro [1900/200]
If this card is sent to the Graveyard, except by the effect of a “The Amalgamate” monster: You can send 1 “The Amalgamate” monster in your deck to your Graveyard. Once per turn, during your Main Phase, you can equip this card to a "The Amalgamate" you control, OR unequip it to Special Summon this card in face-up Attack Position. While equipped to a monster by this card’s effect: Increase the ATK of the equipped monster by 1000 points. When this card is Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 “The Amalgamate” monster from your hand or Graveyard. When this card is in your Graveyard: Target 1 face-up “The Amalgamate” monster you control; Equip this card to the target (You can only activate this effect of “The Amalgamate Crusher” once per duel). (A monster can only by equipped with 1 Union Monster at a time. If the equipped monster would be destroyed, destroy this card instead.)

The Amalgamate Incinerator
Level 4 FIRE Pyro [1900/200]
If this card is sent to the Graveyard, except by the effect of a “The Amalgamate” monster: You can send 1 “The Amalgamate” monster in your deck to your Graveyard. When this card is Summoned: You can add 1 “The Amalgamate” card in your deck to your hand. You cannot Special Summon the turn you activated this effect. Once per turn, during your Main Phase, you can equip this card to a "The Amalgamate" you control, OR unequip it to Special Summon this card in face-up Attack Position. While equipped to a monster by this card’s effect: Increase the ATK of the equipped monster by 1000 points. When this card is in your Graveyard: Target 1 face-up “The Amalgamate” monster you control; Equip this card to the target (You can only activate this effect of “The Amalgamate Incinerator” once per duel). (A monster can only by equipped with 1 Union Monster at a time. If the equipped monster would be destroyed, destroy this card instead.)

The Amalgamate Combustor
Level 4 FIRE Pyro [1900/200]
If this card is sent to the Graveyard, except by the effect of a “The Amalgamate” monster: You can send 1 “The Amalgamate” monster in your deck to your Graveyard. Once per turn, during your Main Phase, you can equip this card to a "The Amalgamate" you control, OR unequip it to Special Summon this card in face-up Attack Position. While equipped to a monster by this card’s effect: Increase the ATK of the equipped monster by 1000 points. When this card destroys a monster by battle: Target 1 “The Amalgamate” monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it in face-up Defense Position. When this card is in your Graveyard: Target 1 face-up “The Amalgamate” monster you control; Equip this card to the target (You can only activate this effect of “The Amalgamate Combustor” once per duel). (A monster can only by equipped with 1 Union Monster at a time. If the equipped monster would be destroyed, destroy this card instead.)

The Amalgamate Vanquisher
Level 4 FIRE Pyro [1900/200]
Cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. When you control a face-up “The Amalgamate” monster: You can Special Summon this card (from your hand). If this card is sent to the Graveyard, except by the effect of a “The Amalgamate” monster: You can send 1 “The Amalgamate” monster in your deck to your Graveyard. Once per turn, during your Main Phase, you can equip this card to a "The Amalgamate" you control, OR unequip it to Special Summon this card in face-up Attack Position. While equipped to a monster by this card’s effect: Increase the ATK of the equipped monster by 1000 points. When this card is in your Graveyard: Target 1 face-up “The Amalgamate” monster you control; Equip this card to the target (You can only activate this effect of “The Amalgamate Vanquisher” once per duel). (A monster can only by equipped with 1 Union Monster at a time. If the equipped monster would be destroyed, destroy this card instead.)

The Amalgamate Core
Field Spell
Once per turn, when a “The Amalgamate” card is equipped to a “The Amalgamate” monster you control: Draw 1 card.

Amalgamate Force
Quick-Play Spell
During the Damage Step: Banish 1 “The Amalgamate” monster in your Graveyard and return 1 card in your hand to the Deck; Double the original ATK of 1 “The Amalgamate” monster you control until the End Phase, and draw 1 card.

I love the concept, very versatile and compatible with current mill engines, but having to read through all that text... I didn't decide to waste my free time playing a children's card game just so I can brush off my Critical Reading skills (j/k, but you get the point of my rant). Is there a way you could incorporate the concept from MtG where you can just put down Union in the card text without having to expand on it? The Field Spell is broken, even more so than the SS draw engine and on par with Inzektars... so just no. Also, Rekindling breaks the hellfire out of these cards, which I personally have nothing against being a Laval player so keep up the good job.
