Question

I'm really not sure how to phrase the effect for my in development "Illogical Lama" monster card

This card cannot be summoned exepet by placing it in your spell/Trap card zone. If this card is normal summoned it is treated as a special summon. This card cannot declare an attack unless it is in DEF mode. During battle between this card and an opponent’s monster if this card would normally win it is destroyed instead (damage calculation is reversed). During battle between this card and an opponent’s monster if this card would normally lose the opponent’s monster is destroyed instead of this card (damage calculation is reversed).

if you have any questions about the effect let me know, and I'll try to explain it

"When this card battles an opponent's monster, during Damage Calculation: Swap the ATK of the attacking monster with the appropriate ATK or DEF of the attack target, until the end of the Damage Step."

Would something like this be good:
When this card battles a monster: The amount of battle damage inflicted to the loser adds on to that player's life points instead, and the loser is now the winner.

"This card cannot be Summoned except by placing it in your Spell/Trap Card Zone"

This is actually an impossible action. You cannot "Summon" into your S/T zone. The only way a monster exists as a Monster while in the S/T zone is if the S/T Zone itself is treated as a Monster Card Zone. The only card to ever do this was The Seal of Orichalcos, which, obviously, doesn't actually exist as a legal card. Furthermore, there's no real point to Summoning into your S/T zone, even if it was treated as a Monster Card Zone. (The Seal of Orichalcos also had a line explaining that the back row of monsters couldn't be attacked while a monster was in the Monster Card Zone)

"The Normal Summon of this card is treated as a Special Summon. This card can only declare an attack while in Defense Position (Use this card's ATK to calculate Damage)."

Fixed this part to cover the NS->SS, and the inability to attack while in Attack Position.

Which brings up another issue with the "Summon into S/T zone" part. It's debatable whether it's even possible to have a Defense Positon monster in the S/T zone, as only the anime ever demonstrated the concept (Seal of Orichalcos) and in the anime, Duel Disks only have vertical slots, so ATK position was the only option for such monsters. Granted, that's anime logic and probably won't apply here, aside from horizontal cards have never existed in the S/T zone.

The last part is trickiest, because it's so wordy.

"When this card battles an opponent's monster, during Damage Calculation: Swap the ATK of the attacking monster with the appropriate ATK or DEF of the attack target, until the end of the Damage Step."

It's not perfect, and could use some minor fixes still, but it gets the gist of the effect across. This effect was fixed to start a chain, but if it's preferred as a Continuous Effect, it can be modified.

I was thinking that the spell/Trap zone in witch Illogical Lama is summoned in is treated as a monster card zone until Illogical Lama is removed from the feald
as for the "no real point" fact, actually I was thinking it could be useful if all your monster card zones are already full, (but like the monsters name inplys the card effect is is meant to allow it to bend the rules of the game in odd ways)

thank you for that

actually by "(damage calculation is reversed)" I meant that insted of the losing player losing LP equal to the difference he/she would insted GAIN LP equal to the deference...

anyways as for the minor fixes I don't mind if the grammar has some minor bugs, as for the chain, I didn't think of that but yea I guess I would prefer it to be a Continuous Effect

thanks
