Jappio
I'm not going to do these one at a time, and more do an overall critique and try to stay to the basic problems with all of them: First of all, the first issue I notice is that your mix isn't very even. Your base sprites are obvious and that just makes it so your splices look more like modification. An example is that "Darkrai + Gallade + Mewtwo + Pigiuto" looks like a freakish Darkrai, and not a mix of those creatures. The thing most splicers want out of their mixes is for a new creature, something that takes equal parts from everything. To fix this issue, try adding more from the other pieces. The base of a splice is a powerful entity, and it takes a lot to hide it. Of course you don't want to overdo it either. Another thing you can do, remove parts. When you add on a new set of arms, you take away the old. This not only adds something new, but takes away. Now what if the Pokemon you are taking from doesn't have arms. You can still take away the arms though to reach a more middle ground. Now of course this example doesn't always work, and my example is a tad crude. From your splices, on something like "Poliwhirl + Primeape + Bonsly" You could take away the swirl on the stomach. It better masks that Poliwhirl was involved. For the Darkrai one, you could take away something like the smoke from it's head. Your coloring needs some work too. The Rayquaza splice and the Darkrai splice are the biggest offenders. Dark colors can be nasty to deal with, so they require a lot more work or they can come out badly. You sometimes have to alter the shading itself or add an extra shade to make black shades work in a splice. Your Pokemon choice I will say is better than some. You started with something sort of unimaginative, but you quickly started to pick Pokemon people normally wouldn't think to put together. It's something I like to see, that way it really gives room for something original. This can lead to a problem though for some splicers. Now I'm not going to say you should limit what you choose to put together. Originality can be key to an interesting splice. However at the same time, some combinations and Pokemon are tough to splice. Some are small, some have no features, some are just on an awkward angle. It takes a lot of skill and patience to make it work. Now you shouldn't shy from the challenges, but at the same time it doesn't hurt to be a little more selective in your choices in your early stages. Don't pick at random, instead maybe choose to include a Pokemon in the splice because you know how you can use it. Take a look at your options, and maybe you'll see a Pokemon where "Oh, I think I can use it's legs." and "I know exactly where I could use that leaf!" It limits your choices, but it makes things a little easier in the beginning so you can get use to the basics. Of course if you can pull off the tougher combinations, go ahead. Yet most beginners have a hard time keeping the patience needed for that type of stuff. They'll begin to get frustrated and start rushing the splice and post it in a lack luster form. Now I'm going to wrap up at this point. This isn't to say your splices are perfect past this point. There are plenty of weird placement issues, weird pixels and coloring, and plenty of other problems. At the moment though you need to get past the issues I mentioned. The other small issues should be catchable if you keep a close eye on your splice as you work, are diligent, and have some patience. Don't be done with a splice because "it's good enough." Be done with it when it is done and complete.
