IMPORTANT NOTE: Only state which version you think is better if you've read the book AND watched the movie.

You should have probably guessed by now that this is a discussion over which version of Percy Jackson & the Olympians The Lightning Thief you think is better.

I honestly think the book version is better because there were TONS of things that were missed/changed in the movie version, so many things it would take a huge post just to name them all.
Here are some examples of changes the movie had:
1) No Clarisse
2) No encounter with Ares.
3) The encounter with Medusa
4) No Mr. D

Not even comparable. This is literally just a preference poll of which adaptation you like better. You cannot say which is better because one is a movie; one is a book.

Besides, wrong section. There's a section for polls /ok lz edit.

My biggest problems with the Lightning Thief movie are that Kronos is only briefly mentioned in the beginning of the movie, despite the fact that he's the Big Bad of the series, [s]AnnaSophia Robb wasn't cast as Annabeth,[/s] and that the characters are aged up for no good reason, which completely messes with the prophecy unless the Sea of Monsters movie reveals a different one. This is basically the Eragon of Percy Jackson fans.

It's pretty hard to produce a sequel considering that the new plot would have to be nearly completely new.

Of course it would, mostly because of the various characters that weren't introduced. It's still going to happen.

This is gonna be interesting.

I watched the first movie a while ago, and I'm half way through the book now. I hate the movie now, but the movie gives me a visual about what a lot of stuff looks like (I have trouble with imagining how stuff looks for some reason, don't ask me why).
