Marisa Kirisame-ze
Just when I was making this topic, Karen O's cover of "Immigrant Song" came on my shuffle, which is featured in this movie. Interesting. But anyways, I really think this will be great, despite being based off of a book (because sometimes movies can really mess that up for readers). The actresses and actors have put so much hard work into this, saying that some scenes were just so intense and harsh that after a long day of filming, they'd go back to their trailers and cry because of how real it felt. Basically, it's a story of brutality against women. So you can already imagine how intense this would be to film. Rooney Mara, who's playing Lisbeth Salander, also looks absolutely stunning for the part. Anyways, I could gush over this movie for hours. Discuss. Squirrel Girl
Well, Just saw it today. Was absolutely fantastic. The Swedish movie was not as good as this, but I have to say Rooney Mara looks almost identical as Lisbeth Salander as Noomi Rapace did in the Swedish version (the first movie made based from the book). Rooney Mara was better as Lisbeth Salander than Noomi Rapace. But I think you should read the book and see the Swedish movie before this, cause this doesn't follow the book as much as the Swedish, I think (heard it from those who have seen both movies and read the book). Marisa Kirisame-ze
I've read the book, but I haven't seen the Swedish version. However, I did look into Noomi Rapace's take on Lisbeth in comparison to Rooney Mara's take and I think Mara's more of "my" Lisbeth, you know? Like when you read a book, you imagine what the character would look like, and Mara had what I imagined towards the description right on the dot. However, I really should see the Swedish version. I'd think they'd follow more of the book since it's a Swedish book haha. It's probably a lot more brutal too.
Squirrel Girl
I have read only half the book. Listened to the audio book though. I feel that Rooney Mara fit Lisbeth more, thoguh, Noomi is also good as Lisbeth. They look exactly the same. Michael Nyqvist is a better Mikael though. He is good in the Swedish movie. The next two movies are about equally brutal as the first. I think so, dont know the others who have seen them.
Dr. Cakey
Okay, but can we all agree that this movie had quite possibly the worst trailer of all time?
Darth Revan of the Sith
I haven't seen this movie but I plan to get it on Netflix. There are a couple problems I seem to have with this movie. First of all the director said he was going to be faithful to the book, how faithful? the last time someone was very faithful in a movie to an original piece was when Zack Snyder directed Watchmen and although I found it stunning many critics panned it for that very reason and I worry that that is what they will be doing. I don't want to watch an exact replica of the book on the big screen as usually that annoys me (Except Watchmen). Second is that the director straight up admitted that this movie would get a quote "Hard R" rating as he said he would show all the bad effects in the book like rape, torture, murder etc. He pretty much sounds exactly like Tom Six when he created The Human Centipede 2. I hope that the director does not do what Tom Six did and overplay the bad stuff so much that it becomes just plain disgusting and pointless to watch. Upsides what I am hoping for is the acting from Daniel Craig which interests me greatly, and the storyline as I found the book intriguing. Hopefully it is better than the crappy swedish version which sprayed more sh*t than a bear with diarrhea.

As for how faithful Fincher is to the book, well it's not a strict adaptation but it's more faithful than the Swedish version. I personally loved this version, and I was a big fan of the Swedish movie. I liked how they showed Lisbeth's emotional side in this film, especially in the end. I personally disliked the Swedish Version and yes I am not familiar with David Fincher and his works.
