Whether they capture these mighty beasts is in the hands of the trainers.

Long ago, there lived three Legendary Pokémon by the names of Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion. These three Pokémon each possessed different qualities that, when combined, fully represented a true hero. Cobalion embodied an iron will, the determination to stand steadfast against all obstacles, and a willingness to lead his comrades through thick and thin. Terrakion represented immense strength, honesty, and loyalty. And finally, Virizion personified (or is it Pokémonified?) luck, kindness, and friendship. For a long period of time, these Pokémon protected the lands and beings of Cygrus from harm, and earned much respect.
One day, these three met at a spring on Rockius Mountainside, where they found a young Pokémon by the name of Keldeo. Keldeo was orphaned due to the ravages of a fire, and the three Legendary Pokémon agreed to adopt the young Pokémon. As such, people began to identify Keldeo with certain qualities more than the other Pokémon: intellect, purity, and the ability to overcome adversity.
Together, these Pokémon protected Cygrus from evil, and eventually went into a period of hibernation, as peace was restored to the land. However, with the emergence of Team Nebulus and Team Draconius, it wouldn't be surprising if they came forward once again.

1 — Greenvine Town
The starting town for most trainers from this region. It is a beautiful village, decorated with foliage of all different kinds. Also the home to Greenvine Hill, a small cave where the first wild Pokemon live.
2 — Gradnis Forest
The forest separating Greenvine Town and Gradnis Village. Inside lurks Bug and Grass-type Pokemon everywhere! Many people from Gradnis Village come here to train.
3 — Gradnis Village
A small village (even smaller than Greenvine Town), which is the home to the first Gym in the region. It is said that the home of Virizion is located nearby.
4 — Alluvium Desert + Terramean City
This subterranean desert is home to the Sand Citadel, which many trainers visit for the chance of finding rare Ground-type Pokemon. Also, along the coast lies Terramean City, which is home to the 2nd Gym Leader, specializing in Rock and Ground Types.
5 — Levia Bridge
This bridge connects Terramean City to Flamvius Town. There are three pathways you can take: You can travel across the top of the bridge and appreciate the sights, you can go through a long high-tech tunnel that serves as a facility similar to the Battle Tower or Battle Subway, or you can take a tram below the bridge for the quickest route.
6 — Flamvius Town
Flamvius Town is another coastal city, though it is built atop a crater. The 3rd Gym Leader resides here, and the town is also home to a market that sells various rare stones and items.
7 — Magma Forest
This is an extremely dangerous forest. Many forest fire in Cygrus have started here, due to it being close to an active volcano, as well as the monthly ember showers. However, many trainers come here to test their endurance and stamina. Reshiram is said to live within the depths of the forest.
8 — Barren Colosseum
These are ruins of a giant battle arena. It still makes good battle use, but it is run down and dilapidated. A certain area surrounding the Colosseum seems to be unaffected by the passage of time, leading some people to believe Dialga rests nearby.
9 — Lavralyn Volcano
An active volcano. Groudon is said to sleep beneath the bubbling molten rock.
10 — Graklus Isle
A small, dark island northeast of Greenvine Town. It is home to the 4th Gym Leader, and a portal to the Reverse World is said to exist somewhere on the island.
11 — Rockius Mountanside
A small city built in the shadow of mountains. They are known for their wonderful Spring Water, which turns out to be their signature item. Many trainers from around the region come here just for a taste of it. Home to a world-famous hotel, the 5th Gym of the Cygrus Region, and, supposedly, the Legendary Pokémon Keldeo and Landorus.
12 — Woodra Peninsula
A sandy isle which acts as a "transition" area for trainers between Rockius Mountainside and Hauntra Town. Terrakion is said to live here.
13 — Immortafreeze City
A frigid town - at least 5 times as cold as Snowpoint City. Home of the 6th Gym Leader.
14 — Frigid Fields + Mount Aquamarine
North of Immortafreeze City, Frigid Fields is the home to many rare Ice-Type Pokemon. North of Frigid Fields lies Mount Aquamarine. These places are homes to Kyurem and Kyogre, respectively.
15 — Gloomy Shaddes + Gloomdelta Town
Though appearing to be a forest, Gloomy Shades is actually a layer of thick, green clouds, covering the sky. These clouds conceal Gloomdelta Town, home of the 7th Gym Leader. It is said that Thundurus and Tornadus live among the clouds, causing storms.
16 — Spacial Ruins
A dilapidated area with a single sign: Seaside Hotel. However, no hotel can be seen for miles. On first glance, it seems like a misplaced crater, but in reality, it is the resting place of Palkia.
17 — Hauntra Town
An almost ghostly city. Though many people live here, including the 8th Gym Leader, there have been rumors that this city is haunted...Darkrai is also said to visit in the dreams of townspeople.
18 — Evraflow City
Home of the famed Evraflow Conference, the Pokemon League Tournament of the Cygrus Region. Just getting here is a trainer's dream-come-true!
NOT SHOWN: 19 — Everascending Spiral
Rayquaza's resting place. Very little is known about it...
NOT SHOWN: 20 — Evraflow Forest
Celebi's home; Only appears one day in every century.
NOT SHOWN: 21 — The Black Castle
The home of Zekrom; it is said to appear only to those with the purest of ideals in their heart.
NOT SHOWN: 22 — Sword Peak
Located in the chain of mountains to the west of Hauntra town, there is a mountain that is said to be home to Cobalion. It is nearly impossible to find.

Standard RP Rules.

I will make the shortposting rule at least 2 and a half lines per post, to keep this RP running.

No Legendary Pokemon can be caught or owned until AFTER the Pokemon League Tournament.

Even then, only certain Legendaries can be caught.

Each trainer starts off with only 1 starter Pokemon (except for Gym Leaders and Elite 4), unless you have a non-Legendary/non-Pseudo Legendary Pokemon you would like to start with.

• Be fair about the damage you and your opponent's Pokemon do to each other. When they should do damage to you, let that happen. We are not here to win every battle we encounter.
• It's alright to lose; In fact, everyone should lose at regular intervals (except Elite 4 members, and Team Leaders)
• Understand the difference in power and level between the higher-up members (Elite 4, Champion, Team Draconius/Nebulus Leaders). to everyone else. Remember to illustrate this difference. It is illogical for a normal trainer with a Mudkip to be able to defeat an Elite 4 member. Keep this in mind.
• Do not simply call "Dodge" every chance you get. If your Pokemon cannot logically dodge an attack (such as Psychic, which just controls the movements of an opponent's body), do not call "dodge" and expect it to happen.
• Be a good judge to you and your opponent. If one side launches an attack that would inflict damage, do not try desperately to prevent it
• Be a good sport. If you have won every battle you have faced, and you meet a trainer, perhaps you can let them win
• To keep the battles running smoothly, I suggest the two opponents contact each other via PM to to work things out BEFORE the battle ends.
• Before you call an attack combination, visualize the attack in your head. Then, express your thoughts on the combination AS DETAILED AS YOU CAN on the RP post, and make sure your opponents can understand what happens.
• Do not attempt to pull off an illogical combination. Combinations should only be made from 2 attacks. Occasionally, you can add a 3rd attack to increase the effect, but only 2 attacks are allowed per combination. Think about it, could a Pokemon really launch 3 attacks at once? No.
• You must declare and describe each attack clearly and accurately. Don't just say "Oh, but I used this attack earlier, and therefore its effect happens now.
• Make sure your posts make sense. For example, a cloned Pokemon from Double Team cannot attack. Therefore, if a Double Teamed Pokemon attacks, and the defending Pokemon strikes it before it is able to launch its attack, do not just say "But you just hit a clone". This is unfair and cheap. The only exception to this rule is Substitute, which automatically replaces itself with the original when it is attacked (but don't forget its cost: 1/4 of your base HP)
Hometown: Sootopolis City

Biography:
Caden was born and raised in Sootopolis City with his older brother, Nathan. The two were left alone at a boarding school since their parents were constantly on business trips, always flying between Johto and Kanto. When Caden turned eight, Nathan left for his Pokemon Journey around Hoenn, leaving Caden in the hands of Wallace, who was then the Sootopolis Gym Leader.

It is around this point that Caden received his would-be partner - Wallace presented him with an egg, telling him to unlock its true potential. The egg soon hatched to reveal a Feebas. Caden tried hard raising the Feebas, but despite his best efforts, all Feebas could do was Splash, Tackle, and Flail. As Caden grew discouraged, he started treating Feebas as a pet rather than a battler. However, this turned out to be the key. One day, as Caden was polishing Feebas' scales, it evolved into a Milotic, who became Caden's closest partner.

From that day forth, until Caden was old enough to leave for his own journey, Wallace became his mentor, introducing him to Pokemon Contests in addition to training him in standard battling. Due to this, Caden was already a skilled trainer a year before he left for his Hoenn League Challenge. It was also around this time that Nathan had won the Ever Grande Conference, leaving Caden eager to start his adventure.

When Caden turned ten, he left Sootopolis City in hopes of conquering the league - He won his way through each gym - even winning several contests along the way, until he eventually returned to the Sootopolis Gym, where he found out, much to his dismay, that Wallace was no longer the leader, having his position taken by Juan. Upon defeating Juan, Caden made his way to the Ever Grande Conference, where he made it up to the Top 8, where he encountered Wallace...as his competitor. The two ensued in a fierce battle between their Milotics. However, Wallace's superior intellect and technique bested Caden's as his Milotic emerged triumphant. Wallace went on to win not only the tournament, but also his place at the top of the Elite 4. Though Caden was knocked out of the tournament, he only used it as an excuse to prepare even more for the next one.

Immediately following the end of the Ever Grande Conference, Caden journeyed to Sinnoh, where he continued to compete in both league matches and contests. Though he won five ribbons throughout Sinnoh, he decided not to participate in the Grand Festival, instead devoting more time to training for his real goal: the Lily of the Valley Conference. Upon his arrival at the Lily of the Valley Conference, Caden rammed through the preliminary rounds as well as the quarterfinals and semifinals. After a breathtaking battle resulting in a nerve-racking showdown between Caden's Milotic and a Metagross, Caden secured his place at the top of the tournament.

Upon returning home, Nathan presented him with a ticket for a ferry to the Cygrus region, which excited Caden. While Caden intended the trip to be nothing more than a vacation, that would not be the case....

Hometown: Seafoam Islands
Appearance: Atrus’ shirt is a pale, light-grey color, covered by a black overcoat that stretches down past his knees, with various pockets lining the inside of the coat. His jeans are also black in color, while his shoes are the same pale-grey as his shirt. His eyes are a hazel brown, his hair is long and deep-black in color and reaches down past his shoulders.
Biography: Atrus lived his childhood out in Blackthorn City with his family (who happened to be Pokemon breeders), like any other person (But then, what did you expect?). He enjoyed what time he spent in Blackthorn, though he would always travel out of the town and into others, and he often explored the Ice Path next to the city. Then came the one day where one of the monks from the shrine in the Dragon's Den came to him and told Atrus that he had had a revelation. The monk explained to Atrus that he would become a traveling writer, and chronicle his adventures as his life went on. Atrus thought little of it, and returned to his usual life. Over time, though, he began believing more and more in what the monk had told him. Atrus did like to travel, and he had a knack for writing. He decided he might as well try, seeing that his apparent destiny didn't sound all that bad. He had his own Pikachu which he had bred, raised, and cared for himself, so he had a Pokemon to go on these supposed adventures with. When he turned 13, he set out to the Kanto region, as he already knew his way around Johto far too well. He traveled through landmark places. Mt Silver, the Sevi islands, Cinnibar Island, Seafoam Island, and so on. Timeskip about 3 months and he's in Hoehn. Another 3 months and he's back in Kanto, setting up a home on Seafoam Islands. Another 6 months pass, and he's begun writing a book. Deciding to add another chapter to it, he departs for the Cygrus region.
Personality: Atrus is a quick thinker who enjoys riddles and logic puzzles. He has a habit of thinking of various situations as mere games, where there is always a solution that will yield in his desired results, and there is always a way out of a bad situation when things go wrong. As a result, he can enjoy even dangerous circumstances.

Username: Verz Salamandra
RP Name: Rosencrantz "Rose" Blackwood (just an FYI—Rose is a GUY)
Age: 14
Hometown: Undella Town
Appearance: Rose's nape-length hair is colored much like milk chocolate, albeit a bit lighter, and the style it is in can best be described as "intentionally messy". His eyes are green in color, reminiscent of summer grass. He stands at about 5'9" tall, and he is about average weight.
Rose often wears t-shirts with semi-abstract designs on them that relate to Pokémon. He also enjoys wearing hooded sweatshirts that are left unopened so a breeze can flow in. He always wears cargo pants.
Biography: Rose was born to a moderately wealthy family who lived in Undella Town year-round. His father was a Pokémon Trainer, and his mother was a coordinator; as such, he was raised around Pokémon, and he inherently understood that every Pokémon can combine power and beauty in a totally unique way from every other. When Rose turned ten, his father presented him with a Pokémon egg that eventually hatched into a Litwick. Rose and Litwick played together all the time, and the two were inseparable. Rose decided he wanted to become a Trainer, and said he wanted to travel to the Cygrus Region to challenge the Evraflow Conference. This displeased his mother, who wanted him to challenge the Unova League. In order to settle the dispute, Rose's father challenged him to a battle. If Rose won, he could leave Unova for Cygrus; if he lost, he would head to Striaton City and challenge the Gym Leader. After a long-fought battle, Rose and his Lampent (Litwick having evolved prior) drew with his father and his Bisharp. As such, Rose's mother was left with the decision. However, seeing how well her son battled, she said he'd do fine in Cygrus, and he set off. Now, he aims to become the Champion of Cygrus, so he may go back and challenge the Champions of all of the other regions.
Personality: Rose is a very kind and caring boy. However, his faults include his extreme lack of self-confidence and the tendency to get nervous in the middle of every-day scenarios for no particular reason, and the constant desire to please everyone all the time. In battle, however, Rose shes his normal inhibitions and becomes very driven and resourceful. But, this does not diminish his caring nature, as he will grant any person any grace they so require so long as they are deserving of it (i.e., breaks mid-battle).

Starter Pokemon:

Name: Lampent
Gender: Male
Species: Lampent
Biography: Lampent was hatched from an egg as a Litwick in the middle of the night, awaking the only human in the room: Rose Blackwood. The Litwick immediately imprinted on Rose and the two became inseparable. Rose and Litwick would often partake in mock battles in the backyard of their home, and after a long period of training, he finally evolved and surpassed all of Rose's mother's Pokémon in strength. Finally, when it became time for Rose to challenge his father, he was chosen over all of the other Pokémon in the house to be used by Rose. After a hard-fought battle, Lampent drew with Rose's father's Bisharp. So, as a result of Rose's mother's decision, Rose decided to take Lampent with him on his journey to the Cygrus Region.
Personality: Lampent, as a Litwick, was very eager and happy-go-lucky. However, he was also a bit of a baby and needed constant attention, and his battling skills were not quite as powerful as other Pokémon of the same age. But, after he evolved into a Lampent, he quickly matured and became not only more calm, but vastly more intelligent as well. His battling skills also increased dramatically, to the point where he was surpassing Pokémon that were already fully-evolved.

Biography: Judas was born to incredibly wealthy parents in Hearthome City, and he spent the majority of his time showing off his rare Pokémon from Unova that his parents shipped over. As a result, everybody either wanted to be with him because they thought he'd give them money, or they despised him and stayed as far away as possible. He eventually decided that he was tired of living in Hearthome and moved to the newly-discovered Cygrus region, where he quickly earned a reputation and became a member of the Elite Four.
Personality: Judas is a very boastful and hot-headed man, and he tends to yell in his speech. He cares little for the opinions of others, and seeks to only gain more power, so that he may one day surpass the other members of the Elite Four and the Champion. He also has an unidentified psychological disorder. As such, he will occasionally don a deranged expression and become totally unpredictable in his actions. However, he has found that a quick electric shock remedies this.

the "no pseudo-legend stage 1 as your starter" does make me a little sadface, as it will be a long while before my character can catch one (and i am a Salamence fan), we can still catch the pseudo legendaries at first stage right? and if so, at which point wouid we have to be until we can catch them?
fortunately i have backup plans for my normal trainer

Relax, just catch them somewhere that makes sense. I'm sorry that it upsets you, but "them's the rules", as they say. I'd say you could REALISTICALLY catch a Beldum or Larvitar in Greenvine Hill. And as for Bagon...Improvise! There are plenty of areas not listed on the map, y'know...
But not as your starter. That's a no-go. Sorry.

Hmm...interesting, I suppose. I'm a bit hesitant, purely because any Pokemon RP that tries to recruit the Elite 4 or Gym Leaders as characters tend to live short lives, as those characters have zero purpose whatsoever in the RP's beginning, and their controllers would be quick to lose interest/shove them down our throats. It's rare if characters actually go to a Gym, because by that time, people actually want plot activity instead of just characters forging friendships or rivalries, and Gym Battles don't make for good RP plots.

But I digress.

If I was fortunate enough not to offend your idea, I'd like to reserve a normal trainer and Team Draconius' leader.

Reserves accepted.

Also, a bit of clarification—The Gym Leaders and E4 are actually more of a Cygrus-wide Special Forces, and the Gym Battles are secondary to that. The Gym battles were difficult last time around, so we did the majority off-screen (then again, a lot of people would disappear for periods of time randomly). But we made it work. And I could ask RD and Zex if we could have NPC Gym Leaders...But the E4 are central to the plot.
Username: Hydra of Gentlemanliness
RP Name: Oculus
Age: Unknown.
Hometown: Specifics are unknown, though we speak of Hoenn as Our home.
Appearance: Oculus is covered, head to foot, in a suit of iron and bronze armor that conceals every part of Our body. Of particular note is the head, which is covered by a thick mask made of several bands of iron crossed horizontally with bronze filigree bent into a complex pattern, with a second structure made of iron framing the blank face and head as a crown. Oculus wears a bright white cape tied around Our neck, which is connected with a chain made of gold- the back of the cape is left unemblemed, though worn as if it contains a standard. When looking from the inside, the cape appears to be a light grey, but from the back it is kept brilliantly white.
The chestpiece of Oculus' armor contains a plate that, unlike the rest of Our armor, is covered in an abstract design. The carving resembles several spirits attacking if not consuming one another, as they are all drawn into a single point- this design, heavily simplified, forms the basis for the Team Nebulus Symbol.
Biography: Oculus' history is difficult to determine accurately, but We seems to have traveled to Cygrus from Hoenn only a few years ago, a voyage during which Oculus became determined to cast away Our sense of self and dedicate Us to the cause of Nebulus. At first, Oculus served as the leader of a small team of bandits, pickpockets and brigands from a secluded cave located in the mountains west of Hauntra, but as time passed, We gathered more disciples to Our school of teaching. Oculus taught that the world was wrong- that the forces of nature weren't possessed by the rational forces of existence, but by malign deities untempered by the light of logic. The world was a confusing, chaotic beast because it was ruled by just that- beasts who eked out a miserable existence through lack of interest in the noble forces of logic, instead depending on their inherit superiority and power. As enlightened beings, humans have a duty to right the correct order of society. To build a new society, free of the oppression of the so-called 'legendaries' and their influence over mankind. A world based of logic.
Personality: Oculus is incredibly softspoken, level, and always clear. We are often characterized by his odd manner of speaking, which We hold that all of Our disciples must emulate while speaking of Us- to use the first person plural rather than a gender-specific third person pronoun when speaking directly of Oculus. Oculus always has a plan in mind, though We don't always deign to share it with others- then again, all should be rest assured that whatever Oculus decides, it is for the betterment of mankind. While Oculus understands the necessity of sacrifice, We attempt to accomplish our necessary goals with a minimal amount of collateral damage- preferably with little to no human death. Oculus doesn't acknowledge false constructs based on emotion, such as a concept of 'fairness' or certain established cultural morals, but We are not without empathy.
For those of Oculus' stock who are successful and loyal, only commendation and increases in stature and power await. For those who fail, a reduction in status is the worst one could expect- Oculus still appreciates the loyal but inept, but does not want them in a position where they could cause a vital failure in the Plan. Traitors, however, are rendered against the full force of Oculus' power. Oculus has no time to deal with those who disagree with Our principles yet insist on involving themselves in Our business, and punishment is swiftly and suddenly meted.
Trainer Type: Nebulus Leader
Starter Pokemon: Unknown. Oculus has not deigned to answer many questions about Our past.

Name: Vacuus
Species: Lucario
Gender: ?
Details: To speak of Oculus is to speak of Vacuus- the two may as well be one and the same. While still recognizably a Lucario, Vacuus is covered in a set of very similar armor to Oculus, obscuring its vision and tell-tale signs of gender or personal identity; the only concession made has been the joints, which are far more limber and less restricting than Oculus' own- allowing Vacuus to move around as necessary without encumbering itself with.
Vacuus' is considered to be Oculus' primary servant- it has free will to do whatever it chooses, because it is understood that anything it does has been officially sanctioned by Oculus in any case. Were Vacuus to kill a member of the team, anyone at all- it would not be questioned.
Recognized as probably the most powerful servant of Oculus, Vacuus destroys its opponents with a combination between Wave-techniques and high-powered melee combat techniques. Vacuus doesn't hide- rather, it prefers to fight out in the open, where it might strike fear into the hearts of those fighting them. None can hide from Vacuus- as the Lucario fights blind, its senses have been honed to the point where hiding from it is entirely pointless. Vacuus always knows when everyone is around it, and even seems to know their intentions- people tread lightly around Vacuus, and try to think quietly.

Name: Una
Species: Scizor
Gender: ?
Details: If Vacuus is equivalent to Oculus, then Una is the left hand of Vacuus- Our second major powerhouse, Una destroys their opponents through a combination of stealth and speed, moving with swiftness regardless of the major armor affixed to its body. Unlike Vacuus, Una is not blinded, though the armor is still enough to obscure most details- painting the usually red-bug the same copper color as the Knight Ourself.
Una is generally found on specialty missions sent by Oculus Ourself, behind the scenes of most of the larger-scale operations- assassinations are its forte, as well as infiltration and sabotage. In general, Una isn't seen around by regular Nebulus members- they may catch the hint of a wing, or perhaps a bit of what might be claw in the heat of battle, but very rarely will Una stop long enough to be considered an actual sight. Some Nebulus members are wary of the idea Oculus even owns a Scizor, let alone one capable of stealth despite what must be several tons of metal weight.

Name: Duae
Species: Metagross
Gender: /
Details: Duae is probably the member of Oculus' team that most Nebulus members are aware of, as the gigantic tank of a pokemon tends to reside in the middle of the main base, typically sleeping. Duae itself has been outfitted with additional brass armor plating atop its normal shell, dyeing it a metallic bronze with darker metal on the X across its face- various small widgets and gadgets are embedded into the shell, most of which serve a practical purpose in the field.
Duae is never brought out except for the largest, flashiest of Nebulus' ventures, given that it packs the collossal power needed to reshape a mountain in a single shot. Considered the "heavy artillery", Duae's purpose perfectly mirrors its apt nickname- it is, in a word, a living tank. Against legendaries with colossal power, the thick crust of its shell protects it from even the greatest of divine wrath- and the heatproof shielding protects it from the usual flaws faced by a metal behemoth. Duae usually seems to have a very docile personality, staying absolutely still (perhaps sleeping) unless in a circumstance where it would be brought out. On the contrary however, Duae is rather fierce and nearly bloodthirsty when one of its quarry- a Legend- is around. If nothing else, Duae seems to have inherited its master's passion for hunting the strongest.

Name: Tres
Species: Bronzong
Gender: /
Details: Like all other of Oculus' pokemon, Tres has a bronze finish on its bell, and wears a powerful psychic amplification device atop its head. Primarily, Tres serves the purpose of biological radar- in may cases, Legendary pokemon can evade detection by even the most sophisticated of mechanical processes, and thus it is safe to have a biological alert system as well.
Nicknamed the 'Master', Tres got that reputation for essentially being a miniature response system. Aside from scanning for legendaries, it also looks out for intruders, enemies in large numbers, geological activity- anything that could possibly be of use to Nebulus. Some Nebulus members are superstitious that the being is secretly scanning their minds as well, searching for thoughts of rebellion against Oculus.
In combat, Tres is a support member of the team still, working on healing others and making life difficult for the opponent, especially an opposing legendary. Its favorite move is 'Trick Room', which in most cases will totally cripple a legendary enemy and prevent them from escaping- while making itself almost unavoidably fast.

Name: Quattuor
Species: Excadrill
Gender: ?
Details: Quattuor, like the others, is decked out in a full set of armor- but in its case, it simply makes it look truer to its real purpose- obstacle demolition. Quattuor shatters stones, metals, and opponents all the same with its impressive claws and even more impressive size- larger than a normal Excadrill by a significant amount. It is Quattuor responsible for the massive system of caves and caverns used by Nebula across entire mountain rages, and it is again responsible for their eventual destruction upon being discovered.
Unlike some of the others, Oculus prefers to keep Quattuor close at hand at almost all times. Nobody is entirely certain why, but strange earthquakes coming from the mountains tend to lead to the idea the leader of the team uses Quattuor's destructive power to search for hidden secrets in the mountains- though what, they couldn't say.

Name: Quinque
Species: Ferrothorn
Gender: ?
Details: Quinque is perhaps the only member of Oculus' team that never leads Our side- which is, of course, the point. Quinque is once again blinded by its metal outfitting, making it appear as some strange overgrown plant- Quinque is much older and larger than the average Ferrothorn, and contains a number of large vines and offshoots attached to it. This system makes it a potent bodyguard, capable of reacting to dangers by crushing them or blocking them with its startlingly hard body at a moment's notice- of all the others, Quinque is considered to have the most impenetrable body, a true shell of adamantine. As such, Quinque is considered the last line of defense- if all else fails, Oculus will still be defended by the greatest shield the team has to offer.
Username: Hydra of Gentlemanliness
RP Name: Azure Soundwind
Age: 23
Hometown: Driftveil City
Appearance: Azure has a youthful face that tends to make him look younger than he he is, bright big glassy-blue eyes, and a permanent thin-lipped smile on his face that refuses to go away. His hair is short, though a single lock of it stands up and curves over his head, almost resembling a bird's crest. His hair is a very light blue color, which may or may not be dyed, laced with individual threads of white and platinum blond hair that seems a bit more natural. He's not particularly tall and stands at a weedy 5'7 feet tall, which combined with his very slight body frame, makes him seem almost fragile and easy to take down. That aside, he's very sprightly and can move around surprisingly quickly.
His clothing is generally very loose and cool, as appropriate for the climate of his new home city. Generally the extent of clothing he wears on his chest is a light-blue vest, which does not cover his shoulders and hangs down slightly longer than most vests- it also appears to be waterproof. His pants are rather large and baggy, made of a very light cloth and appear to be very breezy. They award a large degree of mobility despite being rather large.
Azure also wears a pair of dark indigo wristbands, a ring on four of his fingers (left and right right finger, left pinkie, right index), and three necklaces- the first appearing to be a Gyarados tooth, the second being a spherical blue orb of some sort, and the last being a shiny piece of watershod gold.
Biography: Azure was always a determined child, and became a trainer surprisingly early in his life- with his Oshawatt at his side, he traveled all across Unova and back again, seeing the sights, fighting the fights and learning the entire way around. While Azure liked pokemon training and challenged gyms now and then, he enjoyed the travelling far more- especially when he got the chance to play around with his pokemon. Azure felt he had a connection with his team that far eclipsed what others felt, and was especially touchy about the event known as 'Evolution'. Like most first trainers, he loved the idea that his own pokemon could become far stronger in a second- but also like most trainers, he grew out of this stage quite quickly. He loved his pokemon, and would they be different if they evolved. At times, he felt like he could communicate flawlessly with them- would that connection change if they evolved?
He got his answer quite quickly when his Magikarp evolved spontaneously, a definitive "yes". But that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. Gyarados was certainly more prideful, more dangerous and far more volatile than Magikarp ever was, but he was still a friend nevertheless. Indeed, Azure felt he had an even greater connection with Gyarados post-evolution. This led Azure to his calling in life- studying evolution and pokemon psychology, including fields where those two seemed to mix.
Azure traveled to Cygrus not to make a name for himself, but to see a new world and how the pokemon within it acted there, especially in regards to evolution. His love of battle, of course, did not go unnoticed- as it turns out, Azure had a unique style. Since most of his pokemon hadn't evolved yet (for fear of change, or else because Azure didn't want them to fully expend their potential before he totally understood the concepts at play), his pokemon were used to focusing the inner energy that would normally be used for evolution into further energy for action and power. He became a gymleader swiftly after establishing himself in Flamvius Town- though still, he believes his true calling lives in searching for answers.
Personality: Azure is an eccentric, and not only because he connects to pokemon far quicker than he does to humans. He talks fast, acts fast, and never tired- and in fact, he gets annoyed with people who can't keep up. Azure is the type to both wake early and stay up late, so as to use up as few hours a day sleeping when there is work to be done- and not even any work in particular. Azure just likes doing something rather than just sitting around and doing nothing.
Azure isn't exactly an intellectual, but he is a scientist in more than one way- he enjoys searching for answers, especially when they have to do with psychology and pokemon minds. While he isn't interested in science for the point of science, he will study as long as necessary for his goals.
In one way, Azure is the most dedicated person someone will meet... while in other ways, he's totally the opposite. In a nutshell, Azure focuses on what interests him, and he does what interests him a lot. He can leave anything he doesn't care about though. Boredom won't put him to sleep, it'll drive him away.
Username: Hydra of Gentlemanliness
RP Name: Wayne Silph
Age: 17
Hometown: Saffron
Appearance: Wayne is a dark-haired young man with full brown-almond eyes and a dazzling smile. Considered rather hansom, he compliments it well with a stylish short haircut that still allows him a bit of bang, as well as a snappy dress sense- he wears a dark set of formal clothes with a bright red bowtie, a dark dress shirt beneath a crisp business suit trimmed with a bright white hemlines. He keeps a red kerchief in a pocket, and typically wears a set of functional fingerless black gloves, which allows him to grip pokeballs more easily than a fancy set of the same gloves.
He has a thin, yet still pliable frame that doesn't quite make him waifish. Though he seems to favor dark colors, Wayne doesn't come off as a particularly dark individual- indeed, his skin has a healthy slightly-tanned glow to it, he smiles broadly and the blackness of his clothing only serves to accentuate the brightness of the red and white highlights he offers.
His shoes are brightly polished black leather, and are of course brand-name. He keeps a pair of reading glasses in a pocket, which of course also have simple, yet subtle black rims- nothing he wears is particularly garish (except perhaps the bowtie), though it is rather fancy. Wayne appears as someone rather concerned with being presentable, but not in an overly arrogant or smug way.
Biography: Wayne's family is well-known among the residents of Kanto- after all, they hold the patent to the world-famous Silph Co., one of the most famous technology manufacturing companies of all time. Having grown up in the lap of luxury, Wayne had most of his life to learn the tricks of the trade of being among the elite... but his parents weren't so near-sighted as to deny him existence as a normal child. While he did have expensive tutors helping him learn advanced concepts before other children of his age, he also schooled with the other regular children of Saffron in a Public School. He made friends among the lower classes, even if he knew enough that the topics at hand bored him, and he had the idea that his money didn't make him uniquely superior drilled into his head at a young age- if there was one thing the next heir to the Silph name was not going to be, it was arrogant.
The rest of Wayne's story is rather simple to tell- like most children, he went on a pokemon journey. Unlike most children, his journey was stalled several years so he could finish up his high school education before departing- giving him what was both a unique advantage and disadvantage. While at first Wayne disliked the idea of leaving on his own to train a pokemon, the idea grew on him as the months passed- and eventually he found himself in a strange new country where his name was unknown and he couldn't receive any outside help. He had naught but a common Zubat with him to his name. Too late, Wayne realized what was going on- his parents were testing him. If he was resourceful enough to make something out of himself in a strange land without his name to rely on, he'd be a satisfactory heir.
Well then. The game is afoot.
Personality: Wayne is a very calm, considerate person that considers himself a bastion of civility and chivalry. A positive force wherever he goes, he enjoys challenging himself and figuring out complex problems- especially mysteries and crimes. Somewhat less favorably, however, Wayne has a fair bit of difficulty coming to grips with reality.
Wayne understands everything he has been taught, but he can't necessarily make use if it. Even his own feelings of innate superiority, he knows, shouldn't be based on the fact he is Highborn while others are not... but maybe they should be based on the fact he's smarter than them? Wayne can get fairly confused at times, and his greatest flaw is that he finds it difficult to come up with the answers himself- always before, he's had someone to rely on.
Even worse than that though, is total rejection. Wayne has been used to working moderately hard for everything he has, but he still doesn't quite understand the idea of having no safety net- being absolutely forced to commit and give your all, no matter what.
At his best, Wayne is sauve, careful, wise and capable of doing great things with few resources, and even greater things with quite a few resources. At his worst, he is obsessive-compulsive, quick to fall to pieces under stress, and pessimistic.
Trainer Type: Normal
Starter Pokemon: Zubat
Name: Sunshine
Species: Zubat
Gender: Male
Details: A run-of-the-mill Zubat captured from the streets of Saffron City, Sunshine -before being captured and given his strange nickname- passed his time by foiling crime schemes.
No, really.
Surprisingly intelligent for his species, Sunshine often sought out criminal activity and alerted nearby police forces with strategic deployment of Supersonic in the right areas. While at first this was explained a coincidence, or a stupid gangmember not knowing how to use a Zubat right, or a rival gang's interferance, it became pretty clear to some small crime groups after the first five busts that some zubat had it in for them. They set up nets and precautions to take him down, which Sunshine intended to meet and defeat with some clever flying- but was captured before he had the chance to.
In truth, Sunshine just likes a challenging. He's quick to learn, and even quicker to preform, even if he doesn't seem like it at first.
