Night
So I've just started a minecraft server. Those who know me, know that the first thing I do with basically anything is create a logo 5 minutes after I got the name of it. Here is that logo: I must say it's one of my all-time faves. Worked quite hard on this one, it's no easy task getting such an HQ product with gimp. Overall it took about 2.5 hours. Note: That fabric-type look is custom, took a while to perfect simply because gimp is s*** for logo design and always gives choppy results. As I look back on my designs, I think I will make a tutorial/thread dealing with logo design tips and stuff of that nature for people who want to get into designing logos. This is something I made for my staff to use on the official forums as well as the site me and DG are designing/coding. 'Just makes everything look more professional. Yes, yes, I got DG coding my s***, how jelly is u bro?
.Rai
:> lucky hole. yes on tutorial. Also, the most logical situation for the fabric is just to overlay a fabric texture over the top.
Night
Overlaying a fabric texture on top? Genius, why didn't I think of that. Owait I did. Can't overlay s*** on top of other s*** on gimp while merging s***. Don't ask me why, 'cuz I haven't a clue.

Unless you actually mean the thing's retarded and GIMP can't do it even when it's flattening files, then eh.

PS keeps finding ways to magically delete itself from my computer, and even when It's installed I don't know my way around it other than when making simple logos. I was also thinking we should do a school/interactive tutorial-type thing. We can plan things out on msn.

Night
Do eht up bro. Also, got any cnc for the piece? I guarantee no one else will post because I'm apparently intimidating for some unknown reason.
.Rai
Nudge the text up a couple pixels just for the sake of making not look awkwardly low. Shift 'Be Limitless' a couple spaces to the right too. Otherwise, it's looking good as a logo. Love the avi too.
Night
Thanks mate. Another thing I'll be adding to our thread of amazingness are the differences between good and terrible fonts, also how to use which font depending on a specific scenario. LCÂ
Love the depth you got going in these pieces. Only thing that catches my eye is the choppiness of the M. I suppose it can't be helped though since it's the font itself. Where do you get your renders (lions, dragons, etc. on your pieces)?
Catman25
Pretty nice dude. Idk about the dragon thing though. Perhaps diff color?
-DG-
Hmm... Large Ass logo. Perhaps make a banner out of it, similar to Tech-Gfx's Site logo?
-DG-
I will say this though, brah. If you don't like GIMP, why not get a portable PS? PS is like 500x easier to use..
Simping For Hina
I will say this though, brah. Getting the full PS download from Adobe and it getting loss would be a complete waste of money. And he was implying a few different versions of PS. -DG-
I'm guessing he scratches. Pentooling is a wonderful thing if you are either skilled w/ it, or can look at a piece and pentool a similar shape. He may not do that though, so I dunno.
