Ryuzen arrived at the 10th floor first, by coincidence. By the time the Dinner was announced, Ryuzen was hopelessly lost, trying to make his way to the Dueling stage. But instead, he ended up at the 10th floor. "Hm... door 4.. door 4... ah, here it is!" Ryuzen opened the door. The room is empty except for several Technicians Working on the microphone and several guys pushing around chairs and tables. "Ah... there's nobody here. What should i do...." Ryuzen decided that he would stay in that room to adjust his deck for the upcoming duels. As he flipped through his cards, A massive gust of wind appeared out of his deck. The winds was enough to ruin the banquet chairs and tables. "Oops. sorry, sorry." Ryuzen bowed in apology at the lead technician. *Dammit Tengu! Control your winds okay?!* Ryuzen muttered to his deck, or more specifically, the three Reborn Tengus in it. He then sit on of the chairs, and went to sleep.

As Roman was leaving the cafe, an annoucement was made about a dinner at 6. It was mandatory for all of the NDML Duelists to attend, so it must have something to do with the tournament. The only thing he wanted to know was what. Roman pulled out his cell phone and checked the time. "2 o'clock. Hmmm I still have a lot of time left, I might as well head back to my hotel room and kill time." Roman left the cafe and headed back to the hotel, seemingly open for any Pro duelists. The places was pretty amazing and very secure. He needed one card to get into the decorated building, then another to get into his room. After letting himself into the building he bounded up the stairs and turned the corner, catching a glimpse of some female barging into someones room. The guy standing at the door looked ticked, but he headed inside just as quickly so Roman couldn't tell who they were. How rude. I wonder if all the guests will just let themselves into any room open to them. Romans room itself was a long way down the hall, near the very end of the corridor. When he finally got into his nice, comfortable domain he turned on his radio to a station that played modern hits, set his alarm, flopped onto his bed, then nodded off to sleep.

Rachel drew a card. Interesting. A dragon deck. This could easily be shot down. Dragon decks usually have high attack. "First I'll play my Dark Hole. So you know what that means. Bye, bye dragons!" Jester removed his monsters from the field and into the pile on the side. "Now I play, this special card I call Horison Call Up! This lets me special summon a Event Horsion monster! So I'll Special summon my Event Horison - Banish Digger. I'll now play Terraforming. This allows me to add a field spell to my hand! I'll grab my black pit. now I'll play it and use my digger's effect. You discard the top card from your deck. If it's a monster, Special summon it. But if it's over 1000 DEF or ATK it's banished, because of my pit. And if it's a spell or trap it's banished. Lets see what happens."

A dinnerparty for all NDML competitors, sounds like fun, Megumi payed for her meal and hurried back to the hotel. She checked with the hotel reception for any new messages, only to find none yet again, and then moved towards the elevators. Should I go to my room first to get my Disk or just go to the party directly? Megumi wasn't given much time to think about it before the elevator doors opened and she stepped inside. Megumi picked up her phone to check the time: 2:30 PM. No time to rush really, but she didn't have anything else to do so why not? She arrived at the 10th floor and proceeded to walk down the long hallway, looking for room 4. It wasn't that far actually and as she came up to it, she quickly opened the door and stepped inside. There were no one there, except for technicians and hotel staff preparing the room for the upcoming dinner. Well not only them, there was one other person, a boy sleeping on a chair at a nearby table. Maybe I should come back later? She turned for the door, But then again, this could be a good opportunity to playtest my deck before an actual NDML duel. She turned around again, walked up to the boy and lightly tapped on his shoulder, "Excuse me?"

Another excuse to be gathered 'round a bunch of idiots. Lovely. Yuki blatantly insulted all of the other competitors in her head. She was irritated enough because she couldn't put on the first impression she hoped for. Now it was just moreso being around people. The woman was anti-social, that couldn't be helped. People don't like her, and she doesn't like them.

Just like on the train, the last thing she would want to do is converse with someone. The girl made it back to the hotel with plenty of time to spare, silent the entire trip. She graced the commoners within the building with her presence alone, entering and ignoring whatever stares she'd get. One thing to reject was that her... "true colors" had been somewhat revealed.

Leon got up from his seat and moved towards the exit at the end of the last exibition duel. He tried to get rid of the aura that came from the female in the duel out of his head but it was preety twissted to him. He procced to go his room and grab his dueldisk and deck. He left his room and proceded to go back to the lobby where he could go and cheakto see if he got any mail. He found out he ahd got nothing and was reasured that no one would notice the fomer chanclor of duel acdemey and people may under estmate him which could be his greatest strength. He soon noticed the girl from the last duel. He thought to himself that he may need to get on her good side if he had any hope of makeing it through the tounement. Leon walked up to her and said, " Nice work out there, you almost had him by the way. You're proubly one of the top duelist in this tournement. "

Oh goddammit, someone did approach her. Fantastic. What did this one want? ... Actually, who was this one? Yuki... took no time to even find out who the other competitors were, just decided that they would all fall. Ignoring that thought, the only look on the woman's face was an annoyed one. Though, it wasn't just because this guy was talking to her, no. The words 'you almost had him, by the way' were infuriating. Especially since it reminded her of how Sullivan persisted on calling her a child.

"I don't need to be told the obvious." the girl responded to everything he said in a very cold manner. She was aware of her own skills, at least.

Jester laughed. Yea, he was screwed. That field spell killed pretty much every monster in his deck. He flipped the top card of his deck. Dragon's Treasure, a spell. He showed it to Rachel. "Spell, so it's banished." He looked up at Lukas. He was showing no emotion, as usual. He looked very serious, though, as if he were in the duel. He looked over to Rachel. She showed that same seriousness. The two were alike, besides the fact Lukas was somewhat crazy. Their decks were, too. Dark attribute Fiends that milled the opponents deck. They showed the same compassion for the game. Rachel barged into their room demanding a duel. Lukas would have done that, too. But Lukas didn't like her, and Jester had no idea what Rachel felt about Lukas. But Jester thought what he thought anyway. The two were almost mirror images of eachother. No one could be exactly like Lukas. It was probably the same with Rachel. If Lukas didn't act like a villain and acually had emotion, the two might get along. Along really well. Jester started to think what that would be like, but he pushed it out of his head. It wouldn't happen. Or could it? He put his eyes back on the duel. "I believe," he started, "That it is still your move."

hmmmmm She had him right where she wanted him. It would be easy to pull out a victory. "Alright. I'll first set this card face-down. Now I put my digger in defense mode. Since my turn is ending now I need to discard a Event Horison monster. So I'll send my Unknown Force to the grave. Alright lets see what you can do." haha. I bet he thinks that face-down is something to protect my monster. No it's to protect my Black Pit! I bet Lukas is sitting there amazed at how I'm schooling his friend. She didn't know why, but she wanted to impress Lukas. It seemed like she was starting to develop a crush on him. It was sad, because he was an absolute douche. Rachel knew one thing. This duel wasn't to impress anybody. It was to practice her strategy. She always had to be competitive, she didn't know why.

Lukas smiled. Jester was gonna get owned. Almost all of Jester's cards had super-high attack, so Black Pit screwed him over, big time. Jester didn't run any Field Spells, so yeah. He was gonna lose. He had to have seen this coming, though. So why accept her challenge? Lukas looked over at Rachel. She was looking at him the slightest bit. He wondered what she thought of him. most people thought he was a horrible person, but he felt something emitting from Rachel. It was an aura someone emitted when the were trying to impress someone else...was she trying to...who was she...wait a minute. She was showing something else--a feeling that made him sick. The same feeling Sullivan pushed out off himself. Love. What the hell? It was only there in the slightest bit, and if felt like she was trying to get rid of it. But who was it for? Obviously not Jester...Was it...Him? Did she have feelings for Lukas? Why? Why the hell would someone have feelings for him? He was a horrible person! What did she see in him...? Maybe...maybe Lukas's sense were out of whack...but then again...Rachel was a nice person...a great duelist, too. And she was pretty good-looking...No! He couldn't let emotions trap him. He couldn't Just couldn't...

...
Jester laughed again. He was gonna lose, big time. He smiled. She was an amazing duelist. She reminded him of Lukas...but with emotion, most of the time. So what should he do? He drew a card. A monster-one with too much attack to be useful. He looked through his hand. Ah! That was card he could use to stall. "I activate Monster Reborn! So I'll bring back Golem Dragon in defense." (DEF 2000) Phew. He might actually last a bit longer. "I set a face-down card, and with that, my turns over." He looked up at Luke. He was looking at Rachel. Emotionless as ever. Jester always wondered what went on in his head. Now more than ever.

"haha. Did you forget? My Continuous Black Pit banishes monsters with 1000 ATK or DEF. So that monster is going to take a 1-way trip to the banished pile." Looking down at her deck she only hoped she could get something useful for that face-down. She drew. No! That's not it, but I guess it'll do "Alright I'll play my face-down. Unbreakable Hole! This card negates the discard effect on my pit as long as it's on the field. Now I'll play my rag inflicter! So each time I gain Life Points you discard the top card from your deck. Now I'll summon my Rag Doll! This card is banished upon summoning, and I gain 1000 Life Points (4000-->5000). Also you discard 1 card from your deck. Now I'll use my Diggers effect again. That'll end my turn"

Kazuya stood somewhere outside of the arena where the Duelists had just been, his mind full of thought. From what he'd seen of the Duels thus far, it'd be quite difficult to take all of of them down, no matter how good he himself was. Well, when it comes down to it, no one really know who'll win or lose. And I'm not one to throw in the towel before I've been defeated. Just the, he noticed a person with long shaggy hair standing off by a corner with a Duel Disk on his arm. Kazuya blinked in surprise; a opportunity to Duel, just what he'd been hoping for. He reached into his pocket to get out his deck and fitted into the slot of his Duel Disk before heading over and tapping the person on the shoulder. "Excuse me," he asked politely, "Would you mind having a duel with me, sir?"

OoC: That's you, Wulf.

Noticing that Nathaniel had already left, Hewie let out a small sigh of disappointment. He turned to leave, but then had his attention seized by a new person who had come up to him. "Ah! Ah... sorry, you k-kinda gave me a... bit of a jolt there, huh-huh." He took a look at the young man's DuelDisk as he asked Hewie his request. "Ah, yes, of... of course. I was actually looking f-for someone... to duel with me when you had arrived--OW!!"

Hewie suddenly flung his right hand to his temple, gripping his head as a pounding rang through his head. "Gah! Ah, one s-s-s-second, Mister... Mister... I-I'll ask your name in a s-s-second!" he told the young man before turning his back, trying to make contact with Gazelle. "Father, what is it?!"

"You do not feel it, my son?" the King of Phantom Beasts replied. "This young man's Deck has an ominous presence about it! I cannot tell more beyond that, but I advise that if you are to Duel this young man, you must proceed with the utmost caution!"

"I... I understand, father," Hewie mentally acknowledged, "but I... can see what you're able to...." He then turned back to back to his challenger and said, "Sorry for that, I just... had a bit of a headache for... for a second there." He then prepared his own DuelDisk. "So, where do you... wish to battle?"

Kazuya looked somewhat startled by the man's reaction, but kept his peace until the man's headache had subsided. " If it's okay with you, there's a park a ways over there. Doesn't seem like there's anyone there, so we should be able to have a good battle there uninterrupted. Sound good?" Kazuya liked Dueling, but he always wanted to make sure there was nothing around that could potentially disrupt it. Part of the fun, after all, was the pulse-pounding clash that never stopped until either side claimed victory.

Kazuya then realized he had never given his name. With a rather abashed smile, he said, " I seem to have forgotten my manners. I'm Kazuya Namikawa. I hope we can enjoy ourselves in the following Duel fully."

Nodding, Hewie cautiously extended a hand toward Kazuya. "My friends... call me "Hewie". I guess it's... pretty much my actual n-name by now," he said with a slight chuckle.

"I h-hope so, as well. I've... been very anxious to d-duel for some time now... especially aft... after seeing the pr-preliminary rounds." He adjusted his scarf and hoodie some more, then said, "So... shall we head for this... park?"

~~~~~~~~~
Moments later, Hewie and Kazuya arrived at the park in question. Hewie had prepared his DuelDisk earlier, and was looking over a few cards from his Deck.
"... I heard," Hewie spoke, "that there is a... gathering that will begin sometime l-later. Hopefully... we can finish our Duel in time for the, um... banquet?"
Jester's face screwed up. He though Pit only worked on attack...well, that just made another problem. His monsters couldn't stay with that card. "Wow...you are an amazing duelist!" He said. He flipped his top card. This time, it was a trap. Banished. He drew his card. This worked. "I summon Poki Draco!" (DEF 100) "Also, his effect adds another Poki Draco to my hand. So this should protect me...for a bit..." His voice faded out as he said the last few words. He hardly used this card. He was lucky that for once, it would help him. He sighed. He liked strong dragons, not weak ones. But Poki would have to do. He hoped he could last a little longer in this duel.
"Yeah, wouldn't do to miss the event," Kazuya replied as he went through his deck for a moment. Satisfied, he slid it into the slot of his Duel Disk and let the auto-shuffle function start up. Heading back a bit so that there was an area of open space between him and Hewie, Kazuya prepared himself for the battle about to take place. He was eager to find out how his Deck would perform against another, which'd give him a general idea of how he'd stack up against the other guys and girls in the league. He took a deep breath to calm himself; in slowly, then out. "All right," he said, "Let's get this thing going! The first move's yours, if you'd like." In truth, Kazuya didn't care much on turn order, but going first meant you could set up a few surprises for your opponent while going second meant you could attack first; both had an advantage, but Kazuya had learned to adapt to both.
Hewie nodded, his grin obscured by the scarf covering his mouth. "Very well, th-then." He, too, placed his Deck into his DuelDisk, where it was shuffled automatically. "M... may the, uh... may the... ... ah...," Hewie stammered, trying to remember how the phrase actually went. "... ah... G-good ruck and have fum!" ... that's not how it goes, either. Goodness, it's only a friendly Duel and already I'm stumbling over my words, Hewie thought to himself as he took a deep breath in order to calm himself.
"Okay... here goes... something!" Hewie declared as he drew his opening hand in one swift motion. "I shall... begin this Duel, then. Draw Phase!" he called out as he drew from his Deck, bringing his hand to six cards. "I begin... by summoning "Gazelle, Phantom Beast Lord" in Attack Position!" At his call, the horned, lion-like King of Phantom Beasts pounced down onto the field from above, seemingly out of nowhere.
"Opening with me, my son?" Gazelle said to Hewie telepathically. "Must say, this is quite an honor."
"Fighting with you by my side is always an honor, father," Hewie replied to his father, then said to Kazuya, "When... when "Gazelle, Phantom Beast Lord" is S-summoned in any way, I'm allowed to... add one card from my Deck that... that has "Berfomet" or "Phantom Beast" in it's name." Hewie ejected his Deck from his DuelDisk, then rummaged through it until he found the card he was searching for. "The card I've s-searched for," Hewie declared as he held up the card for Kazuya to see, "is "Horn of the Phantom Beast". Indeed, my fath--I mean, Gazelle's effect is... not restricted to... just the members of the Ph-Phantom Beast clan; it also extends to the clan's s-supporting cards. On a s... side note," Hewie added, "this Gazelle's card name is tr-treated as the name... of the original Normal Card version, "Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts".
"A... anyways," Hewie continued as he slid his Deck back into its slot on the DuelDisk, "I sssset one card in the Spell and Trap Zone, th-then end my turn." A face-down card appeared behind Gazelle, levitating a few inches above the ground. "It's... your move now, Mr. Nami-cow... Nomi-Toe... ... ... Kazuya." Hewie's cheeks began to burn with embarrassment.
Leon wasn't shocked at the girls response to his statement. He stood there and smiled as she finished her sentence.  "Well then you have a fire that will be very interesting to duel again ." he said. He looked around before he countinued, " I know how you don't like to be called a little girl miss, so i'll just tell you that aura of yours is going to drive you insane. I hope you know this." He smiled in her direction as he waited for some time to pass. He laughed abit when he thought about what would happen if he had to duel her. he looked back her just abit scared by her previouse duel.
Now this is when the man assumed things were going wrong. Yuki felt the need to correct him and demand he butt out.
"I'm fully aware of my demonic energy. What business of it is yours?" the woman responded, letting this peasant know that the aura wasn't taking her over. She took control of it. Yuki's cold glare turned into a momentary gaze of curiousity. The waning fear was obvious, but she felt no need to taunt him on it. She didn't even know him.
"... Who are you?"
It was about time she asked that.
Leon was told thatshe was in controle of her demonic aura. " My Name?" Leon scrached his head a bit confused by the question but he countinued, " I'm Leon... Leon Wake." He said hopeing had no idea of that he used to be chancelor at duel academy. He soon said, " An aura like yours attract even more evil auras Trust me I used to walk that path. I also thought i had controle of it but it nearly consmed me, and I don't want to see it happen to you." He lauged at the fact that he had just met this girl and already was telling her what to do. " Anyway I surpassed the need for the dark aura yet it still resides in me." He thought to himself what might happen if it were to be realesed, and continued, " Is that enough info for you?"
A Beast Deck, eh? Don't see too much of those now. Up until now, the only Beast cards he knew about were the Gladiator Beasts. Kazuya had never thought of it much, but he probably should've known there'd be a large variety of Decks that his opponent would use. Regardless, he was going to win. It was just that simple.
"I draw," Kazuya declared, pulling a card from the top of his Deck. Just perfect. As i control no monsters, I can Special Summon Steelswarm Cell to my field." At his word, a large silvery armored beetle-like thing crawled onto the field, purple bile oozing from its jaw. (DEF: 0) "He won't stay for long, because I Tribute him to summon Steelswarm Girastag!" Kazuya grinned as the small beetle on his field jerked, convulsing as more purple liquid oozed from its body. Then the beetle folded inward upon itself before a series of metallic plates began to expand from within, until a large demonic monster stood before Kazuya.
This Fiend monster was fearsome indeed. Covered with black and silver armor, large spikes rose from its head and shoulders, as well as what could supposed as a tail. Its left arm ended in wickedly sharp claws, but its right arm went from the elbow down as a large devilish cannon. As Girastag roared, Kazuya said, "You see, thanks to its effect, I can put this level 7 monster in play by Tributing only 1 Steelswarm monster. Furthermore, when summoned by using a Steelswarm as its offering, I can send one card on your field to the grave and gain a thousand life points." Kazuya's finger then pointed at the face down card. "Your card's out, then. Girastag, take it down!" The Steelswarm monster roared again, before leaping forward and smashing the card to fragments. The monster then turned and fired a purple stream back at Kazuya, who spread his arms out as his Life Points spiked up. (LP: 5000)
"All right," Kazuya declared, "now for battle. Girastag, take down his monster! Wicked Annihilation!" The monster then raised its cannon arm, leveling it to Gazelle, before unleashing a torrent of dark crimson energy which blew apart the ground as it neared its target.
Okay, unimpressive name. It doesn't matter, she just wanted to know what to address him as. The little warning about the evil aura did nothing nut annoyed her.
"It won't consume me, these idiots need a ruler." Yuki ignored his question and went back to respond to the concern. She was fearless, blatantly insulting demonic creatures and automatically assuming they wanted a queen. It didn't matter, because that's how it ended up. The woman would not let it overwhelm her, as it hasn't for all the years she's had it.
"Besides, I only asked for your name and what business you have to do with my energy. I'm not interested in any of your past encounters with darkness, I don't care."
"A-activate Trap!" Hewie blurted out just as Girastag was about to smash the Trap to pieces. "Jar of Greed! When activated, I get t-t-to draw one c-card f-from my Deck!" The Jar let out an ear-splitting shriek as it saw Girastag come charging right at it, only to be cut short as Girastag rammed its fist into the Jar's face, sending teeth, jewels and other fragments scattering around Hewie. Hewie let out a whimper as he drew a card. "... I'm sorry," he apologized sadly to Gazelle.
"It's alright, my son," Gazelle reassured him. "This duel has only just begun. There is still a chance for you to win this."
"N-n-no, I mean...," Hewie said as he pointed toward the Steelswarm who began a second headlong charge toward the King.
"... oh, that. Well, it's not like I haven't gotten used to getting roughed up--!" Gazelle was cut off as Girastag landing a heavy sucker punch(cannon?) into the side of the Phantom Beast's head, much to Hewie's horror, sending him flying toward the forest closeby to the park. "--but it's not like I'm immune to pain, either~~~!!" Gazelle finished as the shock from Girastag's cannon then sent him flying skywards, higher and higher until a small light sparkled amongst the clouds.
Hewie stared up tearfully at the sky, not even paying attention to the 1100 points of damage that he himself had just sustained. (Hewie LP: 2900)
Kazuya shook his head. Was it just him or did his monsters seem particularly revved up about the battle? Girastag was giving a triumphant roar as he demolished the opponent's monster; that in itself was a seldom occurrence. Oh, well. He couldn't begrudge his monsters a little enjoyment in conflict.
" I set two cards face down. Turn end.". The two cards materialized in front of him a moment later. Kazuya lowered his Duel Disk. That'd have to do for the moment. Now he wouldn' t be entirely unprepared for his opponent' s attacks. Going second had been a good idea.
