Legendary Dragon
Mmkay, I think I'm ready to reveal a few more monsters. Archetype - Fenixean An archetype based on Fenixean Warriors being equipped with Fenixean Steads. All Monsters are Winged-Beasts. Boss Monster: The Legendary Phoenix - Turul. Fenixean Warrior - XX1 (not caring about names right now.) FIRE/Winged-Beast/Level 4/Effect While this card is equipped with a "Fenixean Stead" card (this card can only be equipped with 1 "Fenixean Steed"), it gains the following effects: This card gains 500 ATK. Once per turn, when this card destroys a Monster in battle, you can Special Summon 1 "Fenixean Warrior" from your deck. It cannot attack this turn nor activate it's effects. 1700/800 Fenixean Warrior - XX2 FIRE/Winged-Beast/Level 3/Effect While this card is equipped with a "Fenixean Stead" card (this card can only be equipped with 1 "Fenixean Steed"), it gains the following effects: Once per turn, you can select 1 "Fenixean Steed" equipped to a "Fenixean Warrior" you control. Special Summon it onto the field. 1300/600 Fenixean Warrior - XX3 FIRE/Winged-Beast/Level 4/Effect While this card is equipped with a "Fenixean Stead" card (this card can only be equipped with 1 "Fenixean Steed"), it gains the following effects: You can select 1 "Fenixean Steed" equipped to a "Fenixean Warrior" you control. Send it to the graveyard, and destroy 2 cards your opponent controls. 1600/700 Fenixean Warrior - XX4 FIRE/Winged-Beast/Level 4/Effect While this card is equipped with a "Fenixean Stead" card (this card can only be equipped with 1 "Fenixean Steed"), it gains the following effects: Once per turn, you can add 1 "Fenixean" card from your deck to your hand. Fenixean Steed - XX1 Neutral/Winged-Beast/Level 2/Catalyst You can equip this card from the Hand or Graveyard to 1 "Fenixean Warrior" you control, and gain the following effects: Once per turn, you can special summon this card on the field. 600/200 Fenixean Steed - XX2 Positive/Winged-Beast/Level 3/Catalyst You can equip this card from the Hand or Graveyard to 1 "Fenixean Warrior" you control, and gain the following effects: While this card is attached to a Burst Monster, the Burst Monster gains 400 ATK. 700/300 Fenixean Steed - XX3 Ngeative/Winged-Beast/Level 4/Catalyst You can equip this card from the Hand or Graveyard to 1 "Fenixean Warrior" you control, and gain the following effects: Once per turn, you can return 1 card your opponent controls to the hand. This effect can be activated during either player's turn. 1000/400 Fenixean Recruitment Spell You can add 1 "Fenixean" Monster from your deck to your hand. Fenixean Power Continuous Spell When a "Fenixean" Monster(s) is Summoned, add 1 "Fenixean" Counter(s) to this card (Max 2.). You can send this card to the graveyard and draw cards equal to the amount of "Fenixean" Counters on this card. You can only control 1 "Fenixean Power" on the field. Fenixean Counter-Attack! Counter Trap When your opponent activates a Monster/Spell/Trap Card, and you control 1 Face-Up "Fenixean" Monster, you can activate this card to negate the activation and destroy that card. Mr. guy
I have a better idea. Trinity Monsters. Colored red. They exist in the extra deck, and can be normal summoned if both of their trinity material monsters are on the field. The trinity materials are not sacrificed and stay on the field with the trinity monster. The trinity materials are treated as trinity materials while the trinity monster is on the field. Example. Ground softener ** Machine type/EARTH 500/1000 Once per turn, you can decrease the ATK of a face-up monster on your opponent's side of the field by 500 until end of turn. Ground Breaker *** Machine type/EARTH/Effect 1000/1000 Once per turn, you can destroy one monster on the field with 1000 or less ATK. Mechanized drill unit: Bor ******* Machine type/EARTH/Trinity/Effect 3000/2000 Ground softener ~ Ground breaker This card inflicts piercing battle damage. Once per turn you can switch all trinity material monsters this card has to face up ATK position and deccrease their ATK to 0 until your next strandby phase. This card gains ATK equal to the original ATK of all it's trinity material monsters until the end phase. So you have to have softener and breaker on the field, then you can normal Drill unit. Make sense? Link to comment
Legendary Dragon
Um I get the idea...but thats kind of like Fusions on steroids. Link to comment
Mr. guy
I saw that unique summons were going the less specific direction, a la More Specific Less specific rituals >>>> fusions >>> synchros >>> XYZ So I decided to make it more specific, while keeping it unique. Link to comment
Legendary Dragon
I just decided on Burst Monsters to make a fusion of Synchros, Xyzs and Contact Fusion, but I guess yours is okay too. Link to comment
Zeal Ascendant
I thought catalysts were negative, positive, or neutral. Link to comment

Legendary Dragon
Mmkay Remember the first 3 Burst Monsters I made? Well, they're apart of an archetype I like to call the Six Guardians. There shall be a Guardian for each attribute (excluding Divine). I'll post all the Guardians now. The Legendary Phoenix - Turul Vector 4 1 Catalyst + 2 FIRE Monsters Winged-Beast/Burst/FIRE/Effect This card cannot be summoned except by Burst Summon. When this card battles, destroy it and the Monster it battles after the Damage Calculation. Then, during your End Phase, Special Summon this card and attach any Catalyst to it in your Banished Zone (this summon is treated as a Burst Summon). 2500/2000 The Legendary Sea Dragon - Kaishin Vector 4 (Vectors just signify that the higher it is, the more powerful it is. Like Fusions.) 1 Catalyst + 2 WATER Monsters Sea-Serpent/Burst/WATER/Effect This card cannot be summoned except by Burst Summon. If this card battles, negate the effects of the Monster it battles. During your end phase, discard 1 card or have this card lose 1000 Attack. 3000/2500 The Legendary Machine - Imak Vector 4 1 Catalyst + 2 EARTH Monsters Machine/Burst/EARTH/Effect This card cannot be summoned except by Burst Summon. Once per turn, you can switch the attack and defense of all Monsters on the field. When a Monster has 1000 or less attack due to this effect; destroy it. 1000/2700 The Legendary Dragon - Ryu Vector 4 WIND/Burst/Dragon/Effect 1 Catalyst + 2 WIND Monsters This card cannot be summoned except by Burst Summon. When this card is Burst Summoned, destroy all cards you control. Once per turn, you can switch control between 1 Monster you control and 1 Monster your opponent controls, until the End Phase. 2600/1800 The Legendary Tree - Yggdrasil Vector 4 LIGHT/Burst/Plant/Effect 1 Catalyst + 2 LIGHT Monsters This card cannot be summoned except by Burst Summon. Once per turn, you can select 1 Monster in your Graveyard, and Special Summon it. Its effects are negated, not attack, and it cannot be destroyed. This card gains 500 ATK for each Monster summoned by this effect. If this card would be destroyed, you can destroy one of those cards instead. 2000/2000 The Legendary Demon - Lucifer Vector 4 DARK/Burst/Fiend/Effect 1 Catalyst + 2 DARK Monsters This card cannot be summoned except by Burst Summon. This card cannot be destroyed by battle. Any Monster that this card battles is destroyed after the damage calculation. This card gains 500 ATK for each Monster destroyed this way. If this card would be destroyed, halve its Attack. When this Monster's Attack is 1000 or lower, destroy this card and halve your lifepoints. 2000/0 I hope I didn't make them too broken... Bringerofcake
So it took a bit, but I understand how a burst summon works. My only question is how can I, the opponent, get rid of catalysts, sans generic methods like Dark Hole? Link to comment
Legendary Dragon
Yes. Catalysts are Banished when removed from the field when used as a Burst Material Monster. The Burst Monster is also Banished. If you try to use Brionac and stuff, the Catalyst will be removed, the Burst Monster shall return to the Extra Deck. You understand what I'm saying? Link to comment
Bringerofcake
I should be more clear. Is there any way to detach Catalysts without making up new cards to do specifically that? Link to comment
Legendary Dragon
Hmmmmmmmm I believe they need their own specific cards if you wanna detach them. I honestly haven't thought of that.... Link to comment
Legendary Dragon
Some rulings: Burst Monsters cannot be summoned during the Battle Phase, Standby Phase, End Phase, or Draw Phase. Burst Monsters can be Burst Summoned with Fusion, Synchro, Ritual, or Xyz Monsters used as Burst Material Monsters. Link to comment
duel tester
can you show us an example of a catalyst monster ??? Link to comment
Legendary Dragon
I already did. Page 2, scroll down to see one of my posts. Link to comment
Bringerofcake
Consider: Excoriation Normal Spell Target 1 Burst Monster: Detach its Catalyst. Does the Burst monster just fizzle or what? Link to comment
Legendary Dragon
Well now that you mention it, it probably would. Since the Burst Monster pretty much needs the Catalyst, it would probably destroy itself. Time to edit! Link to comment
KindredTether
I don't think thats such a good idea. Link to comment
Spellcaster2000
Eh its fine. I wasn't expecting OMFG THIS IS AWESOME anyway. Do you have any clue as to how I can make it better, or just scrap the entire idea?
Oh no this is a great idea. I understood perfectly. But I agree that they're too easy too summon. And they're not as unique as I'd hoped. I have an idea! How about you need a catalyst, a tuner, AND non-tuners! They could have to all be the same type/attribute/level (i dunno which) as the burst. Good idea? OR they could require synchro and catalyst to be used. And all bursts could be like upgrades of their synchro counterparts. Good? But this is still a good idea. I'm working on red EVOLUTION monsters myself... Link to comment
Legendary Dragon
What do you mean by not as unique as you hoped...? Link to comment
