Verz Bahamut Archtype - Diefairy

Recommended Posts

Well guess what inspired me to do a Dice-based archtype? Wanted to for a while, before seeing Charlie's cards but held off until I saw what he was doing and because I was generally struggling. But now I've had an idea so here we go.

The Diefairy are designed as counterparts and rivals to one of YGO's oldest archtypes; the 'chess' Archfiends. They are similar in that they are named after pieces of a chess-set, they are multi-attribute (sometimes contrasting their Fiendish rival, such as the upcoming Queen and King) and of the 'opposite' Fairy type, and their effects are dice-related. Each individual monster is the same Level as its Archfiend counterpart, and their ATK and DEF are always 200 lower. If I had pictures, they would be small 'cute' fairy warriors dressed in black and white checked robes, with various swords and staves and each with a shield bearing the symbol of their rank.

The Diefairy base themselves around swarming and protecting themselves and their comrades with luck based effects. Their summoning effects usually activate if the result rolled is equal or higher than their level, making the low level Pawn and Bishop easier to summon than the higher level Knight and King. Some of their effects also have two levels of activation depending on the dice roll; the higher the roll - the better the effect (see Rook for an example of this).

Fairy/Effect
You can reveal this card in your hand to roll a dice: If the result is 2 or higher; Special Summon this card (othrwise this card stays revealed in your hand until the End Phase). When this card is destroyed: Roll 1 dice; add 1 'Diefairy' from your Deck to your hand whose Level is equal or lower than the result.
ATK 1000 / DEF 0

Fairy/Effect
When your opponent declares a direct attack: You can reveal this card in your hand to roll a dice. If the result is 3 or higher: Special Summon this card (otherwise this card stays revealed in your hand until the End Phase). Also, if the result is 5 or higher; this card cannot be destroyed the turn it is summoned by its own effect.
ATK 900 / DEF 1600

Fairy/Effect
You can reveal this card in your hand to roll a dice. If the result is 4 or higher; Special Summon this card (otherwise this card stays revealed in your hand until the End Phase). When this card battles: Roll a dice. If the result is equal to or higher than the Level of the monster, destroy it with this effect without applying Damage Calculation.
ATK 1800 / DEF 1400

VBC-020 Diefairy Bishop - Shikyo

You can reveal this card in your hand to roll a dice. If the result is 3 or higher; Special Summon this card (otherwise this card stays revealed in your hand until the End Phase). If a card effect would remove 'Diefairy'(s) you control from the field: Roll a dice. If the result is 4 or higher; Negate the activation and effect and destroy that card.
ATK 100 / DEF 1200

Will continue set as ideas come to mind, so comments on how I'm doing would be appreciated.

Seems reasonable. You had better hope that Knight doesn't have to go up against something that is level 7 or higher. When using the Pawn's effect, you would be in bad shape if you got a 1. Rook is a very good defense in case you need it. Bishop is very helpful, but you forgot to put Bishop's ATK/DEF

Knight - Thought about putting the '6 destroys all level 6 and higher monsters' bit in, but effect was getting too long and too full of brackets so... there's only so much one should be able to take out.

Pawn - Well that's the point of dice to a degree. When are you ever in good shape when you get a 1?

Bishop - Woops, editing in now.

Anymore feedback for anyone else before the next lot go up (not that I've done them yet...)?
