The Anti-Sexism Movement - Has it gone to far?

We all know that we are not allowed to have a business only opened to men would not be allowed. This is due to sexism. Sexism is when someone is discriminated upon due to their sex. That being said, in my opinion sexism is only women being discriminated upon based on their gender. I have several cases of this.

First, we have gyms. I have seen countless gyms that have a coed section and a women only section. Do you see this as people being treated equally? No. Men are being discriminated against. Why should we be forced into a coed section when women have the right to go into either section? I just don't see a reason.

Next there is another very similar example of sexism against men. In any kind of sports league, a women could sue to be accepted. Then league would have no chance to win the court case so they must accept the women. Now let's examine this in reverse. If I wanted to join a women's soccer team, could I? No. No court would ever rule that to be sexism. To me, they would all be wrong.

Finally a physical example, though I forget the details. There was a man in the US who claimed to be representing all men. He decided to sue a bar for their blatant sexism. What were they doing? They had "Ladies Night", a night that women could get cheaper drinks then usual. This guy believe that to be unfair and unjust. Of course he lost the case because no one ever sees the sexism against men.

Now I suppose I am expected to offer a solution to the problem but once again we reach a wall. It is not reasonable to have a system in which businesses are forced to not ask about gender and treat everyone androgynously. This is just crazy. I actually do not have a good solution other then for courts to start actually ruling in favor of the men in this form of court case. Why should women get more rights then men? Why?

Just a few rules:
1. Minimum 100 words in each reply. This is to facilitate better debates over "+1 postcount lulz"/
2. No posting massive walls of text. *coughdarkcough*. This is because those make it impossible for some YCMembers to reply. Try to keep the posts at max a bit bigger than this one.
3. Be smart and debate!

First of all if people are not willing to read Dark's argument because its too long they shouldn't be debating in the first place. They provide evidence and the like that is needed to achieve the correct assumption in the debatical process.
Second by telling people to be smart is foolish as if we don't allow idiots into these debates noone learns anything. There is a difference between ignorance and idiocy.

Masculinism is a constant reminder of how certain men can't admit they are not better than something. Certain business' nowadays are usually guilty of doing this to women looking for jobs. Feminism used to have a relevant place in the world but now it has become worse than what happened to the republican party. The whole anti-sexist movement has lost its relevance and the feminist movement has become the very thing they tried to get rid of. No human ever feels they are equal to something because for some people its unfathomable to think their lives are worth about as much as a cockroach's.

Feminism, racial equality, LGBT rights, immigrant rights, etc. have been malformed by neoliberalism from a move to equality towards blatant demographic pandering that throws off a legitimate meritocracy and creates permanent, government-enforced schisms in the nation.

"Hope" is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without the words
And never stops at all,
And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.
I've heard it in the chillest land
And on the strangest sea,
Yet never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.

To address a few of the specific points you mentioned: It makes perfect business sense for a bar to have lady's nights: the main clientele of bars are men, and men are attracted to bars that have a significant number of attractive and available women. Free drinks attract women, who therefore attract men, who spend money.

It's just a smart business decision that reflects the reality of the situation. It's really no different than colleges that try to promote a 50/50 male/female ratio by accepting less-qualified men. Or any of the numerous other examples of institutions recognizing the differences between people, and recognizing that those differences are significant.

It makes me mad of course. But there's nothing to cry foul about. If you had complained about men being obligated to buy women drinks, or pay for dates, I would have jumped right on board. Social customs are worthy of critique. But not business decisions.

Also, there's a very clear precedent with sports leagues. A woman can force her entry onto a male team if a woman's team does not exist. The same would be true in reverse: A guy could get onto a woman's team if a male equivalent did not exist. The thing is, I don't see very many schools that offer sports to women they don't offer to men.

As for the gymn thing: I would tend to agree. Of course it's the gymn's prerogative, in my opinion, to offer a setup like that. But I think it should all be coed. It does lead back to the fact that women are more uncomfortable being treated as sexual objects than men. Obviously the separated section is intended to allow women to avoid being oggled.

I sometimes wonder if he's actually Dark.

Anyhow, I don't help Feminists nor Menists on this idiotic war.

I only help those who want BOTH sexes to be treated equally (Something that is impossible with our physically, mental, and emotional differences) and that is a small minority. Now, I'm all for a woman getting equal rights. What I hate is women who demand to be treated right and treated as an equal at the same time. I personally have decided to cut off any chance of romantically involving myself to women due to me, and this is my belief and way of thought, most women from my generation and the next generations are horrible people and most likely are gonna ruin my life.

Now, are all women like this? No. I know some women wouldn't wish to hurt me THAT bad, but they're a increasingly small minority.

The thing is, in MOST countries and cultures, women are seen as fragile, weak, idiotic, and deserve nothing more then to stay at home and make babies and food. As we decided to treat both genders correctly, we haven't done away with all of those customs nor train of thought.

To fix this, I suggest we follow Sweden. From what I have read, the Swedish are egalterians. (Can we get Swedish users to confirm this?)

I was going to explain the concept of patriarchy to you guys, go into detail about how nobody has ever been attacked for daring to be a straight white male in public, discuss how it's insulting to minorities' struggles to act like "Ladies Nights" are true oppression imposed by the evil matriarchy, and express my bewilderment at the idea that the LGBT movement has gone too far (because we all know about that rampant global discrimination against non-transpeople, right?). But then I saw this:

And somehow I lost the ability to conjure words.

It is sometimes odd how some groups can get more support from others (such as women being allowed on a men's team and not vice versa), but those aren't as common as some people make them out to be. People see one thing happen, but then believe that the same thing happens everywhere else as well. It's basically the same thing as a stereotype; probably no different.

Yes, I understand that double standards suck and are absolutely idiotic. But it's not as commonplace as people think. And these double standards will never go away. Once everyone is given equality, people will begin to abuse their rights, and there's not a damn thing people can do. Sure, people can argue with feminists and point out their wrongs, but as long as at least one woman views all men as greedy, sex-hungry pigs, these double standards will run rampant.

This is probably the biggest problem with these movements, people in them legitimately don't know or even think that this happens. See, if you ever look at places beyond the quality of content of someplace like YCM or Tumblr, you'll find some disheartening stories. A man was once out with a group of friends and friends of friends, among whom there was a stereotypical gay. He found that making straight men uncomfortable was funny, so he began reaching at that guy's genitals. He hit his hand away. The guy tried again more aggressively and he punched the gay guy in the face. Everyone afterwards claimed he was a bigoted homophobe.

Now, in a hypothetical situation, replace the straight male with a woman, and let's make her lesbian for added effect. Now replace the gay guy with a straight male trying to feel her breasts to make her uncomfortable. A modern day liberal would see the real scenario with the straight and gay guy as an example of nonaccepting heteronormative oppression of queer expressionism and pride, while they would see the hypothetical scenario with the lesbian and straight man as an example of feminism standing up to the oppressive heteronormative man assaulting an innocent female and a perfect example of why it's alright to convict a man as a rapist when they both had drunk sex.

It's not that a straight, white male doesn't have problems or concerns or even faces discrimination at times, it's that much more people care about pandering to an angry black lesbian than treating everyone equally so examples of someone being put under scrutiny and harassment, not even for actions but just for being who they are(see: UnFair Campaign), are tossed aside. Main reasons being that liberals can't get voters by representing the whole story, white guilt/male guilt/other forms of crowd control have created the most submissive majority demographic in the history of humanity, and it's a really effective strategy to further yourself in the present by using woes of the past. Nobody is allowed to adamantly stand against any sort of minority or perceived minority movement because they're instantly made out to be the racist, homophobic, sexist villain of the story at which point you're no longer able to show your face in public.

Basically I'd prefer the movements didn't involve affirmative action, censorship on media and speech, quotas, trying to make everybody have the same opinion as them, victimization, protesting a small cake shop that didn't want to make a gay wedding cake for religious reasons, etc. but it's now so inextricably woven into them that they're all lost causes as far as I'm concerned. I might as well be Julie Winters.
