Blake
It's funny how it's actually old and "low-tech", and the new stuff is supposed to be absolutely superior. I guess it's a nostalgia thing about loving it... Wonder if people will later on. A lot of things turned 8-bit aren't as cool as the original, whereas others give off that feeling of Nostalgia that make them worth it. Overall, I love 8-Bit, mostly with songs that always were. Thar
Yeah, what I love about 8-bit versions of rock songs are the thoughts of it being the music playing during a boss battle. It makes me want to buy a classic NES and just duke out.

Mehmani
My love of it is nostalgic but also respectful - as someone who is a musician and writes music, 8-bit music is beautiful because it relies entirely on the notes and chords. Because there is no real timbre (except in Tim and Geoff Follin's stuff) and no dynamics, the power and emotionality of the music is expressed only through the notes, and therefore requires great melodic and harmonic composing skill. Kizzi
I had a topic about this but it's getting ignored, so I'll post it here: http://www.gamemusicbundle.com 10 awesome albums for $1, or 21 albums for $10. It's not all strictly 8-bit but there are a fair amount of chiptune kinda stuff - includes stuff like the VVVVVV soundtrack.
